STO Reservation consumes the PIR or NOT

Hi,
One HALB material has a PIR of 10 qty in PLANT B and also
receives the STOC of 5 QTY  from Plant A.
IF I run the MRP for PLANT B, i'm getting planned order for 15 Qty.
But my aim is Stoc . trasport order should consumes the PIR and It  should throw the Planned order for 5 qty.
This is possible or not.
Please guide me.
Regards
Chandru

Hi,
But my aim is Stoc . trasport order should consumes the PIR and It should throw the Planned order for 5 qty.
It depends on strategy what you have used in the HALB of plant B.
During MRP run system will do net requirement calculation.ie,
Plant stock + firmed receipts - safety stock - requirement qty = Available stock.
If it is negative system create procurement proposal.
For yours 0 + 5 - 10 = -5
So system should create planned order for 5 no's.
But you are getting 15 no's, so check in lot size & safety stock. Remove MRP group in material master.

  • FG sales order should consume the PIR of SFGs

    Hi ,
I need some advice on following scenario.
My client wants - Make to order for FG material, and Make to stock for SFGs.
So that SFGs are made into stock by putting PIR, and FG production is initiated by sales order and will consume SFG stock.
As per this if sales order is created for FG, then SFGs PIR should be reduced or consumed according.
I had used strategy group for SFG as 40, and for FG as 55 (actually FG is having variant configuration)
So, accordingly now FG production is initiated by sales order, but SFGs PIR is not getting consumed and also a seperate planned order is getting generated for SFG because of FG Dep Req.
Is there any changes I have to make.
    Thank you in advance.
    regards,
    B C Gudageri

    B.C.
In Strat 70, the PIRs are not consumed by the sales order, they are consumed by the dependent requirements of the FGs orders (prod order reservations or planned order dep. rqments).  In MTO, these requirements are usually analogous to the Sales order requirements.
If this is not happening, you have either altered the standard settings, or you have set up some master data incorrectly.
Go over the strat 70 online help IN DETAIL to make sure you have set up the scenario properly.
    http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_04/helpdata/EN/cb/7f940d43b711d189410000e829fbbd/frameset.htm
You can use just about any FG strategy, as long as the dependent requirements are being passed to the SFG materials.  55 won't hurt you, but it doesn't make much sense to enter a forecast at FGS if you are also going to forecast at SFG.  Logically, you probably want to avoid forecasting FGs, since this adds excess complication for the planners.

  • PIR should not consume for the SubReq

    Hi Guru's,
Please help me how to configure the planning strategy for my below requirement.
Currently i am procuring a HALB material thru subcontracting. This HALB is having BOM components. I need to send the BOM components to the vendor for assembly.
The BOM components will be used in some other HALB also. My requirement is, the BOM components should not consume for the subcontracting requirements, it needs to consume for in house production only.
The subcon requirement needs to generate the dependent requirements only, it should consume the PIR.
Currently i am using the planning strategy 70, requirement type VSFB. In this, PIR is consuming for the SubReq.
Please suggest me the suitable planning strategy for this scenario.
    Thanks & Regards,
    V. Suresh

    Suresh,
I am curious why you would not want SubReq. It is also a different kind of dependent requirement. Also it seems yo are supplying the components to your vendor. So it makes sense that your forecast is consumed by dependent requirements so that planning is effective.
If for any reason you do not want to supply components to vendor then it would be best to mark such components as vendor provided. In such cases it would not consume your forecast (PIR). Hope this gives some new perspective.
    Thanks,
    Ram

  • Why are old PIR's not deleted even after doing MD74 & MD75??

    Hi All,
In few materials; i am not able to delete old PIR's??
Even though i have performed MD74 & MD75 (which covers 2 days) i.e. whenever i do this; PIR's which are old than this limit are deleted, but there are few materials of 6-8 months still showing in MD04. Because of which there are major issues in MRP calculations..
I think in this case PIR's are seemed to be partly consumed...but i am not able to relate this.......please clarify and how can this problem be solved permanantly
    Rgds

    Hi Vicky Khabrani,
You can check with t code MD73 to see how the PIRs are related with sales orders. In the case of strategies like 40, 50 & 60 when SO is entered the SO consume the PIRs.
Subsequently if any of these SO are canceled or If the SO qty reduced, still the PIR will have  the link with the SOs.
With the re-organisation function we can  delete only those PIRs which are not linked with any SOs....

If I am right, you have done a PGI and still able to see the sale order/purchase order alive in MD04.
If this is your problem area,
    Use SDRQCR21
    <b><u>Instructions for Using SDRQCR21</u></b>
    •<u>Material and Plant</u>
If you enter selection criteria for "Material" or "Plant," the report processes the requirements according to this selection only. If you do not enter a selection criterion, the report processes all sales and delivery requirements.
By severely restricting the selection criterion "Material," you may be able to reduce the runtime of the report. In general, selecting the "Plant" criterion only does not shorten the runtime period. For more information, see the section entitled "Performance of SDRQCR21".
    •<u>Data transfer</u>
Select the "Data transfer" parameter so that the report updates the requirements on the database.
If you execute the report without selecting the data transfer parameter, the report simulates the update only (that is, it checks the requirements and issues a log, but it does not make any changes). In this way you can also use SDRQCR21 as a pure check report for sales and delivery requirements.
    •<u>Compare</u>
Always select the "Compare" parameter to improve the performance (runtime) and to restrict the scope of the log.
The report then corrects, deletes and creates only the requirements affected by the correction. If you do not select the parameter, the report completely reconstructs the database (for the materials/plants selected).
    •<u>Planning entry</u>
If you select the "Planning entry" parameter, the report creates planning file entries (entries for the planning run) for the materials/plants affected (and relevant according to the MRP type).
    •<u>Processing for material</u>
If you select the "Processing for material" parameter, the report saves the requirements (database commit) one after the other for each material/plant, instead of saving all the requirements in one step. Correspondingly, the log issued by the report is also sorted according to material and plant.
    •<u>No parallel processing with a data transfer!</u>
Only execute the SDRQCR21 report with a data transfer once you have made sure that no-one will process sales documents or deliveries (for the materials/plants according to the selection) whilst the report is running, either in the foreground (dialog) or in the background (rescheduling, collective run for creating deliveries, EDI-IDoc and so on)!
Reason: The report does not read or set blocks. It therefore produces correct results only if no other program updates sales or delivery requirements, or checks availability while the report is running. If you execute the report with a data transfer during production operation, the system may even generate new requirement errors!
Additional Information: If you run the SDRQCR21 report twice at the same time, enter the relevant selection criteria Material/Plant for the same reason, so that they do not overlap during simultaneous processing.
    •<u>     Recommendation</u>
To execute the SDRQCR21 correction report easily, securely and completely, do not enter any selection criteria for "Material" or "Plant," select all four checkboxes and make sure that the report is not running during production operation. If runtime problems or other problems occur, see the following explanations in the sections entitled "Performance of SDRQCR21" and "Solving SDRQCR21 Problems."
    •     <u>Comments</u>
o     Even if you execute the report without a data transfer, you should still select the "Compare" parameter.
However, it is irrelevant whether you select the "Planning entry" parameter in this case, since the report without a data transfer does not create any planning file entries.
o     The "Compare," "Planning entry" and "Processing for material" parameters are available as of R/3 Release 3.1I only.
    <u>Performance of SDRQCR21</u>
The report may require a long runtime. Since you can only execute it at specific times (you cannot use parallel processing, that is, you cannot execute the report with a data transfer during normal production operation), bottlenecks may occur.
In this case, attempt the following solutions:
    •     Execute the report with a data transfer only for materials with requirement errors. To do this, proceed as follows:
o     <u><b>Step 1</b></u>: Execute the report without a data transfer and without the selection criteria 'Material/Plant', but with 'Compare' and with 'Processing for material'. You can also do this during production operation.
o     <u><b>Step 2</b></u>: Outside production operation , execute the report with a data transfer only for those materials (or material/plant combinations) for which step 1 logged requirement errors.
o     <u><b>Step 3</b></u>, only if you use total requirements (Table VBBS, daily/weekly requirement) and not individual requirements (Table VBBE):
Outside of production operation , repeat step 1 without 'Processing for material' for test purposes. The report should no longer log any errors.
o     <b><u>Comment 1</u></b>: If step 1 logged several materials with requirement errors, repeat it (several times if necessary) with selection(s) according to these materials. By repeating the step in this way, the system may log fewer materials with requirement errors. (During production operation, the report usually logs more requirement errors than actually exist. If data was transferred, the report would then create new errors.) Carry out step 2 only for those materials for which the report has logged permanent requirement errors.
o     <u><b>Comment 2</b></u>: If the time outside production operation is insufficient for step 2, divide the step into several substeps. That is, divide the material list determined in step 1 into sections that do not overlap and execute the report for each corresponding subsection. You can execute these substeps in succession, if necessary over several days, or partially at the same time depending on your system capabilities.
o     <b><u>Comment 3</u></b>: If, contrary to expectations, step 3 logs materials with requirement errors, (repeatedly) treat this step as step 1 of a new correction process. Outside production operation, reduce the list of materials with requirement errors as described in comment 1, and so on.
    •     Do not select the 'Planning entry' parameter.
The report then does not create any new planning file entries (see above). However, you must be aware of the risks involved in doing this!
    •     Archive sales documents and deliveries.
We recommend that you archive sales documents and deliveries. Document archiving reduces the database for the SDRQCR21 report and for other programs, and therefore significantly improves performance.
    •     Optimize database performance.
The tables that the report uses to approximately preselect the relevant document items are the most important:
o     VBUK and VBUP (without a selection according to Material/Plant)
o     VAPMA, VLPMA and VBUP (with a selection according to Material/Plant)
The report still reads entries from tables VBAK, VBAP, VBEP, LIKP, LIPS, as well as VBPA, VBUP and VBFA (if necessary).
Finally, it reads and updates tables VBBE (requirement individual records) or VBBS (totals records for each day/week).
    Solving SDRQCR21 Problems
    •     Document status
The report returns correct results only if the statuses of the documents affected are correct (with regard to reference, delivery, goods movement, reason for rejection). This prerequisite is usually met. Only if you have good reason to suspect that the statuses are inconsistent or that the report has returned incorrect results because of inconsistencies, see Note 207875 and/or 506510, to check and, if necessary, correct the statuses of sales documents and/or deliveries.
    •     Item Material Index
If you enter the 'Material' or 'Plant' selection criteria, the report returns correct results only if the document items affected are contained correctly in the relevant material index (VAPMA, VLPMA). This prerequisite is usually met. Only if you have good reason to suspect that the index is inconsistent, that the report has returned incorrect results because of inconsistencies, or that the report terminated with SAPSQL_ARRAY_INSERT_DUPREC because of inconsistencies, check the TVIND Customizing table and see Note 128947 and/or 33267 for information about correctly reconstructing the material index.
    •     ATP server: After the run of SDRQCR21 (if you use the ATP server), you must load the requirements for the combinations from material and plant for which SDRQCR21 was started to the ATP server.

  • Planning Strategies to Stock - Consuming the forecast (PIRs)

    Hello,
I want to use planning strategies 10 or 40 (to Stock) but I have a doubt about the funcionality of "Consuming Forecast"
What happens in strategy 40 or 10 when the sales orders/Goods Issues will not consume the total forecast in a specific month (PIRs) ?
What happens to the PIR of that month?
How does this effect the planiing funcionality in the upcoming months?
    Thanks for any reply,
    Aart

    Hi,
The consumption of the PIRs is controlled by definition in MRP View of the consumption logic.
There you can say if it consumes in the past and/or future, and how long into each direction.
Unconsumed PIRs in the past need to be adjusted (there's a transaction for that).
Since both 10 and 40 are MTS, so if at the end of the month there are PIRs left that were not consumed, normally you should have the relevant quantity against that plan as stock. So, as I said, you adjust the unconsumed PIRs, and the stock is carried to the next period, and covers (in part) the next month's PIR (plan), and so on.
This way, if you sold less than was planned, but produced it to stock, it is not wasted, but will be used to produce less in the following periods.

  • Planning strategy 50 consume the STO forecast

    Hi All,
I have a scenerio of stock transfer demand from regional plant to production plant.
The palnning strategy is s et to 50 in the production plant. The requirement is the STO of the regional plant should consume the forecast in the production plant. How can this to be done.
    Thanks
    Chindam

    Hi,
For consumption of PIR by STO requirements you will have to activate the BADi MD_PIR_FLEX_CONS.
When you create a PIR via MD61 in the Items tab specify the CI (Consumption indicator) as 4.
If you want to get this by default then you will have to make changes in OMP6 for requirement class 103. But would suggest making a copy of 103 & then using the modified custom requirement class in a copy of standard strategy group 50.

iOS 7 has many multiple tasks. You can save battery life to some extent by few steps. First go to location services and bettr 'Off' them which are not needed. (Ex. Notes.. Reminders.. Etc). Also you can off few apps in 'get notifications' centre. Also usage of 3g by any mobile consumes much battery life. Better to connect any Wi-fi

I had used my Mac Book Pro early yesterday evening, worked fine.
But later last night, when I opened the lid, it was like a gray screen descended over the screen and large black dialog centered on the screen said, "You need to restart your computer. Hold the power button down..."

They took out the one bad 2GB module and the laptop runs OK with the other one (less memory to play with, but hey, it runs!). Said it would take a couple of days to order the new memory. All things considered, not too bad an experience.
I was concerned that I could lose some stuff on disk, but found I could boot in "Target Disk Mode" (holding down the "T" key while booting) and could copy things back to my old laptop via FireWire. Try doing that on a broken PC!
