Stock Posting does not tally with Journal Entry

Hi Mentors,
I currently trying to see the cause of a particular issue with the JE being created by Stock Posting.
After scavenging the forums, I came across SAP Note 1525960.
Symptom
On creating Inventory Posting in locked Posting Period, system gives error message 'Period is
locked for new data [Message 131-107]'. Keep the window open, go to Posting Periods to
change the Period Status to 'Unlocked', and then click on 'Reconcile' again. Inventory Posting
is successfully added.
The Transaction Value in the Inventory Audit Report is correct. However the Debit / Credit
amounts in the Journal Entry of Inventory Posting are doubled.
The note was created in 2010, filed under SAP Business One 2007. I tried to replicate it, and it holds true for our system, which is currently 2004B.
When I tried to explain the SAP note to our accountant, she said that she did not encounter the error message, since she was the one controlling the period.
So my question is, if there any other factors that could influence the change in the posting of the JE such that the variance being posted in the JE is more than the actual amount(as verified against "Inventory Posting List" and OINM)?
Some facts about our Finance department's practices.
They enter the "Stock Posting" a month later.
E.G. Stock Posting for Oct2011 Stock Variance
System Date: Nov 16, 2011
Stock Posting - Posting Date: Oct 31, 2011
Thanks in advance!
Sean

Hi Sir Gordon,
I already checked using your suggested query:
SELECT * from oinm
WHERE NegInvAdjs != 0
found in this [thread|Re: Diffe Amount posting in Same document].
Unfortunately, 2004B does not have the column "NegInvAdjs". The query failed to execute.
Thank you for the guidance,
Sean

Switch On Open Item Management by Changing Master Record
    Description
This program activates open item (OI) management for a G/L account and makes the necessary changes to documents already posted. These are then displayed afterwards as open items. It does not process the open items any further. In reversed documents especially, it does not reenter clearing data in the document.
    Requirements
No items can already be archived from this account.
Caution: Company policy must be in place to ensure that this does not happen.
Some G/L accounts cannot be managed on an open item basis, especially G/L accounts that are used in account determination for automatic transactions (for example, accounts set up for transactions MVA or VVA, or accounts which are posted to using posting keys set up for account type M).
Caution: Before making any changes, check that the G/L account can really be managed on an open item basis. If necessary, contact your SAP consultant.
The account must be blocked from posting since any new documents posted at the same time as converting documents and postings for this account would not be entered.
    Output
When using the list log, each document that was changed is listed. In addition, the total of the changed BSIS/BSAS entries and the total of the changed documents is listed.

  • Stock Take Posting does not balance with Stock Take Variance

    Hi Experts,
We have a client that has completed and posted a stock take and the result from the variance report is not the same as the total of the stock take journal.
For example the total gain of the stock take was R839.13 in value
The stock take journal show a total gain of R2216.89 in value.
I  run a audit report of the warehouse and the total qty and value match to the variance report of a total gain of R839.13
I have also checked that the price source for whs stock posting is at item costs which calculates to the same total value of R839.13
The stock take posting posts a ST Journal and you are not able to drill down into where the figure originates from.
So it makes it very difficult to investigate or determine why there is a difference.
Please can you assist with possible solutions or reasons to determine why there is a variance between the variance report and the stock take posting?
    Regards
    Christine Ward

    Dear Mr Boshard,
In order to know the value of the stock taking in Business One you can check the field 'COUNTED' in OITW.
Therefore, if you compare the counted and the onhand quantity before doing the inventory posting but after the stock taking you will find which items had more quantity at the moment of the stock taking than now.
    Please, try this query:
    SELECT T0.[ItemCode], T0.[WhsCode] FROM OITW T0 WHERE T0.[Counted] >  T0.[OnHand]
Do not hesitate to come back if you still need help.

  • Vendor Ref No. does not show in Journal Entry for AP Credit

AP Invoice journals show the vendor reference number in field Ref 2.  However, when creating an AP Credit memo, the vendor reference number does not show in the journal for the credit memo, instead the field Ref 2 is used for the base document number.
I have two clients who have pointed out that they would expect to see the vendor ref number in the Ref 2 field in the journal when an AP Credit is created, as this is the functionality for Goods Receipts and AP Invoices.
Both clients are currently manually updating the Ref 2 field in the journal for AP Credit, so that in the BP account transactions view they can sort field Ref2 by vendor reference number.
Does anyone have any suggestions on a work around for this?
    Thanks,
    Lianne Plant

    Hi Lianne Plant,
You may check: Journal Ref2 field : AP credit note

  • Exchange rate differences posting failed due to manual journal entries

when i run exchange rate differences and try to post the result, system shows "No matching recording found 'journal entry' (OJDT) (ODBC-2028) [message 131-183]" at the bottom panel ane the posting was failed. then i found the problem is actually from manual journal entries made to a business partner. as long as i deselect the manual journal entries, the posting was successfully done.
i am using B1 2007B with pl09. is this standard in B1 2007B that exchange rate differences posting does not work with manual journal entries of BP?

you are right! it is a bug in 2007B.
The posting has no problem if the base reference number is same as the transaction number in the manual JE document. however, if we define a numbering series which is different from the transaction serial number, then we have problem with the posting. System searchs for the JE records by using base reference number as transaction number. That is why it could not find the JE document and then report the error message.
so, where should i post the bug to SAP and let them fix the bug as soon as possible?
    thanks for the help!

  • F-03: Amt in doc currency & local currency does not tally

    Hello Friends,
When doing clearing using F-03 for GL Account 137500 in SGD (document currency), The amount
does not tally with Amount in local currency (USD) and the selected items
clearing lines not generated automatically. Why is this happening.
I found that this is not due to exchange rate
    Please help to resolve.
    Ramu

There are too many questions..let us take it one at a time
    a. I am using tcode f-03 for clearing GL Account  - OK
    b. When i process the open items and select the items for clearing OK
    c. When posting the difference of the selected items OK
    d. the amount in local currency(USD) does not tally with the amount in document currency (SGD)
Response:  This will not as the exchange rates are not 1:1  that is One USD will not get you One SGD. The difference will remain.
    e. this is not due to the exchange rate, for example the figure in amount in local currency is 100 USD, the figure in the field amount in document currency is showing as 300 SGD,
Response:  In all likelihood look at the GL master data `(FS00) and check the values in the `Control Tab`
    f. and also automatic generation of lines (debit & credit) for the sum of selected open items are missing
Response:*  As in (e) please check if the line item display is checked in the same tab.
    Cheers

    Hi,
I am not sure if the solution is still relevant but we faced a similar problem and we found the solution, so wanted to share with you .
This error of 'Invalid aggregation' occurs if there are records in error and if the checkbox "No aggregation allowed" is selected in 'Error Handling' under 'Update' tab of Infopackage maintenance.
Please carry out the followig steps:
    1) Go to the respective infopackage
    2) select tab Processing, make sure radio button  "Only PSA" and the checkbox "update subsequently to data targets" is selected.
    3) On the Update tab, click on the button "Error Handling" at the bottom
    4) Now of the available three radio buttons choose as per your requirement.(select  'valid records update, reporting possible(green)' for master data)
    5) Now, uncheck the box 'No aggregation allowed'
What the last step does is that, the data is aggregated for the correct records and not for the incorrect records.
So, in case of an error we will get a separate request for incorrect records, which we can correct and upload later to the respective target.
This should help resolve the error.

    Roney.

  • GL balance in FS10N not tally with KE5Z due to trx posted to FI but not CO

    Hi,
Need help to solve this problem.
Some of our FI postings were not reflected in the Profit Center accounting therefore when we compare GL balances in FS10N against KE5Z, the figure does not tally.
Suspected when the transaction was posted, the cost element for the GL was not created yet.
ie GL account 123456 created in 01.10.2009, transaction posted in 06.10.2009, but the cost element for 123456 was only created on 12.10.2009. Therefore the transaction posted on 06.10.2009 only updates FI but not on the CO side. Not sure whether this is the actual reason or could be due to other reasons.
Is there any way to reverse/repost such that figures from the 2 tcodes tally? Thank you in advance.

    Hi Azmin,
thanks for your reply, but I have actually tried using 1KE8 but I got an error log "Account xxx requires an assignment to a CO object". Therefore I wonder if there is any other tcode that I can use or should I perform certain step first before I can use 1KE8.

  • Just bought a new Airport Extreme BS. After setup my iphone4 won't find the network (not even with manual entries), but my iMac (2009) does. What is wrong?

Just bought a new Airport Extreme BS. After setup my iphone4 won't find the network (not even with manual entries), but my iMac (2009) does. What is wrong?

Well, after another call with Apple support and the engineers, no success.  After spending over 20 hours trying to debug this, I give up.  Apple was basically fishing for a solution with trial-and-error settings on the iphone.  Then they wanted me to plug in software to log my iphone connections to the router, etc, etc., etc., at which point I decided I no longer wanted to participate in their testing process and will simply return the router.
25 hours of my life I'll never get back.
Big bummer, and frustrating for all the obvious reasons.

  • Vendor aging unreconciled bal. does not match with TB Acct. Payable balance

    Dear all,
When i take unreconciled vendor aging report with selection creteria all vendor codes selected, aging date as 31/03/09 and posting date from 01/04/08 to date 31/03/09,Interval - 30 Days,By Journal postings
Deticked all check boxes in it.
Aging report total balance of all vendor does not match with account payable balance in Trial balance ?
But for reconciled aging totals and trial balance total are same.
How to solve it ? or i need to do any settings ?
    Jeyakanthan

    Hai!
What version of SAP B1 u r using.
I do got the same problem for my  customer. I did this..
    1. Run Aging Report for all Vendors. Donot check Recon Transaction.
    2. Export to Excel
    3. Run TB for BP selecting Vendors alone.
    4. Export TB to Excel.
    5. Find vendors who is having mismatch in their balance. (use V-Lookup in Excel)
    6. Run Detail G/L Transaction report for those Vendors one by one.
*Selection from date: Age from date To date: Age To date *
             *Selection Reconcilled Transaction only
    7. Report Balance should be Zero. If not this problem is because of Internal Reconcillation.
    8. Open *Check and Restore Previous reconcillation * select the vendor, internal
    9. see the reconcillation details.
    10. see the posting dates. All should be in previous fiscal year. (I mean the reconcilled set should have same fiscal year ex: Recon -2 trans should be in same fiscal year)
    11. If, that is corrected and still difference exist means.
    12.Go to Manage Previous Reconcillation
    13. Select BP and Internal (Donot check system reconcill Trans)
    14. Check the Reconcillation wheather all in same fiscal year.

  • FAGLB03 peroid balance not tallying with line items within

    Hi,
When i go to FAGLB03 and tally  the balance of a recon account for a particular month with the line items in it, it does not tally
This is happening for one period within the fiscal year, others period balance tally with the line items
What can be the solution for this?
    Regards,
    Parin

    Hi Parin,
You did not confirm still whether the account in FAGLF03 is the same account that you  are trying to view.
This issue will require careful analysis in the system as there could be more than one reasons. One of the likely possibilities is missing BSIS line items. As it is a technical reconciliation issue, please create a message for processing.
FBL3N report that you executed also points towards that. I hope that  you ran the report for all items posted in that period.
If you ran it only for open items, then there is also a possibility of a possible clearing issue.
Anyway , the best route will be to open a message in FI inconsistencies component and let SAP investigate further.,
    Best Regards,

    Hi Friends
SAP Standard Assets balance Report(T Code s_alr_87011964 and s_alr_87011963 ) Not Tally with GL Code in FBL3N.
In SAP report coming with Report Date but FBL3N coming with Posting Date
So How I add Posting Date input parameter in Sap Standard Report. Please help me
    Thanks & Regards,
    Hemant Kumar

    Hi Vinod,
I hoe that you are doing reconcilation between Asset ledger & FI ledgers. Before that just run ABST ,there u can findout whatever the documents not assigned to FI.
Asset is subledger to GL.It is automatically updated through determination, while post GRN to capital goods. In somecases bsuiness remove the reconcilation acount and do some adjustments that time that report not match with FBL3N.
You can run ABST then u can get details
