Stock transport delivery creation in foreground

Hello experts,
I am only able to create deliveries from stock transport orders in VL10B and in the background. However, I want to be able to create it in foreground like in VL01N with reference to a sales order.
Can that be done for stock transport orders as well, and if so, how?

GAR

Dear Friend
I am a SD consultant
STO is basically a purchase order and for PO's delivery is created only in the backgound
Only for SO's both foreground and background job of delivery creation is possible
SAP's design is like that
Delivery in foreground or background doesnt make much difference  to me?
Are you specifically looking for something?
So STO only background delivery creation is possible
Hope this clears your doubt

  • Wrong Delivery date determined in Stock transport delivery NLCC from PO

    Hi Everyone,
Since we upgraded R/3 from 4.6C to ECC 6.0 we are facing problems in the Stock transport process.
We are using purchase order type NB for moving material from plant X from company 1 to plant Y from company 2. In the stock transport order we enter a delivery date which is the goods receipt date from the receiving plant. In tab "Delivery Schedule" we find the Material Staging date which is 25 days earlier because of the transportation time overseas.
When the materials are available in the supplying plant X we make a delivery. Before the upgrade the MBDAT (material availability date) was copied from the purchase order into the delivery date of the Delivery.
After the upgrade not the MBDAT is copied but the goods receipt date, which is 25 days in the future.
Does anybody know if we can influence this date determination in e.g. customizing.
Thanks in advance for your Help.

    Hi,
the whole scheduling in stock transport orders are actually controlled by two settings:
    - the sheduling in the purchase order is controlled by the set-up for the stock transfer order (topic "Assign delivery type and checking rule" in IMG). Here you need to flag the "Shipment scheduling" for your purchase order / supplying plant combination. This is important, as otherwise the creation date of your delivery can not be calculated.
    - Then, as mentioned before, you need to have DL as default order type for your delivery type NLCC. Even you have no sales order, the sales order type is necessary, because the system always uses the copying routines to fill the necessary data. Now in this case the structure xkomdlgn is used to temporary store the data from the source document (in this case the stock transport order) and to pass it on to the delivery.
--- actually I believe you do not even need to assign DL as default order type in the delivery type setting. If I remember right, at least for the delivery type NL this is hardwired (if no default order type is entered, then DL is used...), I guess it is the same for NLCC...
    - But now comes the trick: actually the delivery dates are not copied over from the copying routine (don't ask me why), but they are controlled by the sheduling in the default order type, in this case DL. If you check the sheduling for the sales order type DL("Define scheduling by sales document type"), you should find out that is is not activated - there you go. Activate delivery and transportation scheduling for your default order type, that should do the trick.
    Best regards

  • Stock transport order creation

    hi gurus
i want pricing should be carried out at the time of creation of stock transport order.
kindly advice what to do for this requirement.
    thanks & regards
    suman

    Hi Suman,
Just to add to what is mentioned above.
There are two types of STO same company n cross company.
    1) If it is same company then there will be no pricing carried out
    2) if it is corss company then like Pricing procedure in Sales Order we have Pricing schema in STO .
This can be well assisted by MM team.
    Hope it helps.
    Thanks and Regards

  • Sloc Stocks during delivery creation

    Hi,
We have a unique scenario at our site. The manufacturing booking and Stock loading are automated at the plant and the shopfloor systems feed data automatically to SAP.
The Production figures are fed only once a shift whereas our movements to our warehouse happens every half an hour once. Assume that the starting inventory at the plant is 0. at the middle of the shift, the production sloc (101) stock is -100 pallets (as the production booking has not happened but stock transfer happens continuously) and the warehouse (103) stock is +100.
Now the issue arises when we try to create a delivery at the warehouse (103). The system is giving an error message that the stock is zero as it is considering the plant stock and not the warehouse stock.
The sloc 103 is maintained in the sales order. Is there any ways of making the system only consider the storage location (103) stock when creating a delivery instead of considering the plant stock
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
Not too sophisticated solution but maybe allowing negative stock for your material can help you:
    http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_04/helpdata/EN/a5/63313343a211d189410000e829fbbd/frameset.htm
Negative stocks are required if, for example, goods issues are entered before the corresponding goods receipts for organizational reasons and the material is already physically located in the warehouse.
(001, 003 are storage types in WM?)

  • Serial Number validation during Delivery Creation itself(PGI-system checks)

    Process:
Sales Order PR(Purchase Order) GR( New Serial Numbers are created automatically or manually keyed in)
Once the Goods Receipt is received, we do the (SO) DELIVERYu2014SERIAL NUMBER ASSIGNMENT Post Goods Issue
    Issue:
Current Serial Number Profile Management does not do a valid serial number check during DELIVERY CREATION where we do a SERIAL NUMBER ASSIGNMENT.
Only during POST GOODS ISSUE, the check happens for valid serial numbers; this is too late in the game for business as there is a time lag of 3 days from the DELIVERY CREATION and PGI.
Reason being--- We donu2019t check the following u201C Existing Stock Checku201D( which does a serial number validation during delivery creation as well)
SPRO>Plant Maintenance and Customer Service>Master Data in Plant Maintenance and Customer Service>Technical Objects>Serial Number Management>Define Serial Number Profiles
If we check this option, the business requirement to do a valid serial number check does happen during delivery creation, however we cannot create new serial numbers during Purchase Order- GOODS RECEIPT.
    QUESTION:
Can we have the system check the valid serial numbers from stock during delivery creation and serial number assignment.
And Also create new serial numbers during Purchase Order- Goods Receipt.

    Hi
1.In std SAP its not possible to check the serail number during Delivery creation, through enhancement it can be done.
2.During GR for PO serial numbers can be created.

  • Stock Transport Price - Inventory Cost

    Hi All,
I have 2 plants under the same company code
    Company code: BP01
    Plant 1: BP01
    Plant 2: BP02
Material "A" is created in both the plants. BP01 creates a stock transport PO to BP02, BP02 creates the delivery against the PO & goods issue is done from plant BP02.
In transit some freight & transportation cost is incurred. Now when the GR is done in plant BP01, the requirement is to upload the costs incurred (while transit) on the inventory.
How can we do this? Can we create an invoice for the stock transport delivery but then since the transport is happening between 2 plants belonging to the same compnay code the invoice cannot be created.
    Thanks & regards,
    Allabaqsh

    Hi,
The requirement is standard MM functionality.Pls check the STO pricing schema in your system.
The cost incurred between two plants could be categorised in two ways:
    1.Delivery cost (Planned cost)
    2.Other costs   (Unplanned cost)
The delievry cost will be inventroized (i.e. added to material cost) at the time of GR at receiving plant. You can use standard condition type  FRB1 (Freight (Value)) or FRC1(Freight/Quantity).
The unplanned cost (like toll changes) etc can be paid while doing MIRO for the Planned cost and do not get inventorized.
Pls revert if any other clarification is required
    Regards

  • Incorrect delivery creation date in stock transport order

    Hi,
I've checked SAP notes and forums but no answers to this one....hope you can help.
I have 2 plants, in separate company codes.  One orders from the other using a full inter-company process.
The issue is, when i raise a PO the delivery date (shipping tab) is updated correctly, using the agreed lead time (planned delivery days)
However, the Delivery Creation Date is usually updated with 'todays' date.  It's as though the planned delivery days on the material master or PIR is being interpreted as a transit time between the plants.
    This has 2 undesirable effects:
    1.  The supplying plant has no notice, requirement date is NOW
    2.  Delivery creation batch jobs create deliveries which aren't really due yet
I really need the Delivery creation date to be a true material availability date  ie the date the goods are required to be available in the supplying plant.  For us this would be 3 days (transit time between plants) before the delivery date.
    Any help greatly appreciated.
    Regards
    Guy

    Guy,
    true lead time.
is a bit ambiguous.  The system does exactly what you tell it to do.  'True Lead time" is not defined in SAP.  What do you mean by this term?  Are you talking about "Total replenishment lead time" in the material master?
Anyhow, you are telling me you want the delivery creation date to be "three days prior to Delivery date".  No problem, set PDT to 3 days.  So, if you today created an STO with a delivery date of July 30, and the PDT was 3 days, the delivery creation date would be July 27.  If you also want cushion, then today convert the STPRs with a delivery date of July 30.  Don't wait until July 27 to convert these PRs.
How are you creating STOs today?  You mentioned delivery dates being populated by the system.  How? What transaction/what program?  If your current process is to automatically convert all existing STPRs into STOs, then you probably need to consider adding some time to Purchase Req processing time.  OMEW in config.

  • Problem in creation of STO(stock transport order)

    hi all SAP gurus,
i am facing the problem in creation of stock transport order with ME21N code. i m getting the error msg of "Not possible to determine shipping data for material in STO "
i have checked the stock transport order setup in customization. but not getting the clear idea to come out from this problem.
if anybody have the idea of " how to do the customization of stock transport order setup, pls. let me explain.
    thnx in advance.
    rgrds,
    rajesh

    Hi Rajesh,
when ur creating STO with UB doc type, then you have to maintain material in both the plants.
Regarding the error which is comming for you, you have to check the settings at
SPRO- IMG- MM-Purchasing-Set up stock transport order- Assign delivery type & Checking rule
here for document type UB and your supplying plant-XXXX select nothing for Dlv type(delivery type) and chr - 01 and after this save.
After this you create STO as you are doing and see what the system is prompting.
For any further clarification let me know.

  • Automatic delivery for stock transport order

    Hi,
with ECC6 you have the possiblity to automatically create the delivery out of the stock transport order (STO) using the following customizing steps in SPRO:
Materials Management ->Purchasing->Purchase Order->Set up Stock Transport Order->Activate Automatic Delivery Creation and CRM Billing
Materials Management ->Purchasing->Purchase Order->Set up Stock Transport Order->Activate Automatic Delivery Creation for PO Type and Shipping Point
We want to use a batch job that runs ME59N to autmatically convert the purchase requisitions to STO and deliveries. While testing we found out that ME59N gives a warning when the availability check in the STO is running in case there is not enough stock. But you still can create STO and delivery.
In case you only create a STO and put it in VL10B to create the delivery it will only create delivery items with the quantities that are available in warehouse. So no stock means no delivery at that time.
Is it also possible using ME59N to
    a) not create STO and delivery in case there is no stock
    b) only create STO and no delivery in case there is no stock
    Cheers
    mickey

    Hi,
Setting to error message not possible as this would cause all STOs not be convertered where no stock is available. But we need this functionality only for one specific process.
Omit faulty items we also tested and did not provide the result we need. It is related to faulty purchase requisition items.
    Cheers
    Mickey

  • Stock Transport Order (STO)will not create delivery

I have created a intercompany Stock Transport Order (STO) and it has created the shipping tab in the Purchase order(PO), and all seems to be correct.
I have material in the plant, yet when I go to create the delivery using VL10G, the PO does not show as a choice. I also do not get an error, so I cannot tell why it is not creating the delivery.
Is there a way to see an anaylis of why the STO is not showing as a choice?
    Thanks,

    Hi,
Please check the delivery date in the STO created.and adjust the del creation date etc input fields at VL10G and try the posting. If there exists no error in the po created.

what all configuration do i need to do.
    pls. guide.
I m little bit confused over stock transfer,
    Regards,
    Pramod Kumar

Oh no, not at all!  This forum is meant to answer all your problems!
Configure Inter company Stock Transport Order
Material should exist in both the plants (Delivering & Ordering),
Internal customer should be assigned to the ordering plant ( MM -> Purchasing ->
Purchase Order -> Setup stock transport order -> assign the internal customer to the
ordering plant and assign the Sales area of the internal customer.
Assign its Sales area to the delivering plant
Assign the document type and Delivery type NB and NLCC
Assign the Supplying plant --> Receiving Plant --> NB
Take the delivering plant and assign the sales area.
Vendor master has to be created and assign the supply source (Delivering Plant).
    Create a purchase order ME21N ---> Save
Delivery VL10 G ---> Calculation rule (appropriate) --> Assign the purchase order
    number here and execute.
Select the Delivery creation line and do the back ground process.
Start the log display and see the delivery document number by the documents button
Goto VL02N --> do picking and PGI --> Then do the MIGO with respect to the delivery
    document.
Billing (Intercompany pricing conditions should be set).
    AND
    1. Customer No. for the Goods Receiving Plant - OMGN
    2. Availability Check- Checking Rule (if necessary) - OMGN
    3. Assign a Delivery Type for the Delivering Plant - OMGN (for Stock Transport Orders,
    NLCC)
    4. PO type (which i believe you have done) - OMGN
    5. Assign Vendor No. to the Supplying Plant (done) - VK02
    6. Assign Customer No. to the Purchasing Plant for the Inter-Company Invoice (but you
need to assign this to the Sales Organization pre-assigned to the Purchasing Plant),
IMG-SD-Billing-InterCompany Billing-Define Internal Customer No. by Sales Org
***and by the way for the Invoice to work between Cross-Company Plants, you need
also to have a Sales Org for the Supplying Plant and a Pricing Determination Procedure
    STO:
    STO CONFIG:
The following steps have to be followed in order to configure stock transport order
    between two plants.
    1. Create a vendor for the Company code of the receiving plant using account group 0007
    via T-Code XK01.
    2. In the purchasing data view assign the supplying plant and the schema group
    3. Create customer with the sales area of the vendor.
    4. The shipping conditions, the delivering plant and the transportation zone determine the
    route in the STO.
    5. In the pricing procedure determination relevant to the STO assign document pricing
procedure and customer pricing procedure to get the pricing in the invoice.
    6. Maintain condition records for pricing condition.
    7. Maintain carrier as a partner in the customer master.
    8. In OMGN select the supplying plant and assign the company code and sales area.
Similarly select the receiving plant and assign the company code and sales area (The
company code to which the plant is assigned to).
    9. Assign the delivery type and checking rule to the document type.
    10. And finally, assign the purchasing document type to the supplying plant and the
    receiving plant.
    11. Create the STO using T-Code ME 21N and save.
    12. Check for release strategy if any and release using T-Code ME 28.
    13. Create delivery in background using VL10G.
    14. If delivery is created, it is an indication of correct configuration and master data
    creation.
Stock transfer between two plants in deffernet company codes is known as inter company

  • MM- outbound delivery through Stock Transport order

How to stop the automatic creation of outbound delivery for a stock transport order(STO), in Txn ME21N. Actually after save of a transfer order of STO type, when we try to create the outbound delivery in Txn->VL10B, in background, It creates the delivery, without checking the stock in the storage location. This creates further problem in Picking. So the outbound delivery should not be created for those materials which do not have proper stock within correct storage location.
If any one has faced it, please help me in writing user exit or any other method to validate the same.
