Stolen iMac with "Find my iPhone"
I have a little problem. My iMac from my office was stolen. Now i do not remember registering or setting up the "Find my iphone" on my mac. However when i sign into my apple id on the icloud website, my imac is there. Does that mean my imac is registered? Or is it simply there because that was a product i bought under my account? I hate doing this but a quick answer will be very much appreicated since my imac is for my bussiness

What is erase method of this function? Normal erase or Secure erase?I solved the problem by follow Matt's suggestion.
I can (almost) recovered all my files with deep scan option in the program Data Rescue.
But it is restructured form, jpeg pictures are moved in one folders then you have to manually arrange them again.
Anyway, better than nothing
In conclusion, if you accidentally erase your iMac with Find my iPhone app.
1. iMac harddisk will be format, not securely, you can recover them.
2. You need 2 computers, and one thunderbolt cable. (Firewire in the older model)
3. Using Target Disk Mode (press T while booting, after the signal) at the source computer.
4. Data Rescue (or other recovery software) need to installed in another computer
5. Use "Deep Scan" method, it will takes like 7 hrs to scan 1TB harddisk
6. The files that recovered will be unstructured, (the one that structured is not working)
7. You might need the larger capacity harddisk than the one you recovering. (in this case 1.5TB or 2TB)
8. It will takes another 4-6 hours in recovering files. -

I am signed in to my wifes iphone and it has been stolen. Tried tracking it with find my iphone, but it doesn't show up in my devices. She doesn't have a separate id. Any ideas why or what I could do to make it would be greatly appreciated.
It was still turned on, I am tracking with life360, but apple's tracking is more accurate. I just wondered why the phone doesn't show up in my devices on iCloud if I am signed in on it with my apple id. Thanks

I've lost my iPhone5 like 40 hours ago. I already turned the Lost mode on with Find my iphone app. But my phone has no data plan so it could not connect to the internet at all. I reported to the police, too. What else can I do? Can anybody advise?

if I requested to erase a stolen device on find my iphone but did not receive a confirmation, do I need to remove the device before restoring the replacement (new) iphone? Can my stolen iphone still be erased if I restore my new iphone? I am just concerned with someone accessing all my content.

I'm kinda guessing here, but your phone was stolen and you want to lock it, but it is showing offline? You can send an lock request, and a delete request, but if it is offline, it will not be received until the device goes back online again. If the device has the latest iOS on it, and Find My iPhone active, then it cannot be activated without your Apple ID and password. It will be a brick. And, if they try to activate, it will connect to the Internet and you will be able to track and the erase will activate.

the fact is that someone stole my Mac about 1 and a half years ago! so the day after i realise my mac wasn't in the my house i immediately blocked by find my iphone with the hope to find but i didn't get nothing, then after 1 year i received a message telling my that my Mac was successfully blocked and my mac used to call "Kevin Gr. MacBook air" and the message i got from apple said that "Dou MacBook air" was successfully blocked. that time i realised who was the one who stole my Mac a "friend" :/ he was the only one that i know that uses that nickname for everything! well i didn't did much because i wasn't that sure that he stole it! but one day in a party in his house well not a party but all friends hanging out, they decided to go to the disco so i said that i was very tired and i managed to stay at his home, so when they left the house i decided to search for my thing, and after 30 min of searching i finally found all the things they stole :/ and my mac was there! so I immediately took all my thing and left the house! i called him telling him that i found all my things and ill took them home! he was stunned for a moment and then he said sorry for everything, but all that things he was going to buy! but he knew it was our stolen stuffs and blah blah blah
well now i wanted to open my computer and its locked with the 4 digits code that i put a year ago and i don't remember, there is a way to unlock it? or i just need to reinstall the OS!

If you activated the Find My iPhone service (in Settings>icloud), and if the device's batteries still have a charge, the device is not turned off and has not been reset and is connected to wifi, then you can try to track it. i have originally forgotten my pass code for a new iPod Touch, now I have with Apple's help reset it to factory, my issue is due to the change in my Apple ID , the iPod will not let me set it up under the new Id or the old one.I also have been set up with find my iPhone and I don't remember if I did this or not, could have been the grand children trying to help out. Any ideas or suggestions, I haven't even used this yet and I have owned it for 6months already. Really am disappointed that the process is so difficult to navigate.
I have also noticed the same "problem". I do not fully understand the impact of using the same ID on multiple computers and devices if I want to keep them all in sync.

My iphone was stolen, I used find my iphone app, and found that it was offline, however when tried locking mode option, I pressed remove device by mistake. Is there any way I can restore the iphone to my icloud/ apple Id again? No manual backup on laptop
The phone will automatically re-appear when it connects to the Internet. However, don't get your hopes up, as thieves know this & will make sure your phone never re-connects so you can locate it.
