What do you mean exactly by "interactive report startup" ?
Else, if you want to stop a running query you may kill the corresponding session.
So with OEM or by querying the v$session you may identify the session (sid, serial#) of the query
to stop. For instance:
alter session set nls_date_format = 'DD-MM-YYYY HH24:MI:SS';
select sid, serial#, status, schemaname, osuser, program, sql_id, logon_time
from v$session;Then, you may execute the following statement so as to KILL the session:
alter system kill session '<sid>,<serial#>';You may find some examples on the link below:

Query not running in report builder 3.0

hi, i can run my query in mgmt studio (version 2008R2) and within the query designer of report builder 3.0 but it will not run from report builder. i get a generic error message of "an error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted)".
the query uses report parameters and is written with dynamic sql (using a pass-through to oracle). any ideas why the query doesn't execute in report builder ? thanks a bunch,

According to your description, it seems that you are using linked server to pass value to oracle. Seeing that the query is worked well in Management Studio, you may have the permission to connect to oracle (In this scenario, make sure the users to run the
query in SSMS and Report Builder are the same user). So this issue can be caused by the user’s permission to connect to report server, the credential of data source and the dynamic query.
We can add the current user as a Login, then click Properties and navigate to User Mappings page, enable ReportServer and ReportServerTempDB options.
We can try to type user name and password, and enable “Use as Windows credentials” as the credential used to connect to data source.
Try with dynamic query:
="Select column1, column2 From tableName where ID IN (" + JOIN(Parameters!param1.value, ",") + ")"

Executing PL-SQL Query before running a Report

Hi Guys,
Can i use a Run a Pl-Sql Query every time before executing a report. Like if i am opening a report then the pl-sql Query should run before it.

Try with Evaluate as one of the column's expression.. so that we can limit to specific report..
or
Use Connection Pool->Connection Pool Scripts tab->use 'Execute before query'
Since we can set the repository variables using advanced tab.. the same variable we may validate using Connection pool scripts tab.
This might be more dev work..

How to find the person.. who is running the report..

I am using RedHat linux for the PROD server.(10.2.0.4 DB, R12.0.6 Application)
I have end users those who are running discoverer reports.
The question is how can i find exactly from which IP address the end user is running the reports.
I have the top command results.

To stop Running the Report when we dont find data in the table

I am running a 6i report and this report fetches data from custom table.
I need to check whether data exists in the custom table in the After parameter form and if doesnt return any data then i need to Stop the report execution and write a message without raising any exceptions or errors
note: we tried with srw.program_abort ---- it stops the report but it returns an exception

Here the tricky is
if we don't have last month data we should not go the data model. The data model query will run regardless the previous month data.
we are trying to find the previous month data in after parameter form. if it is not there we want to stop the report there itself it should not go to layouut or data model.
how to achive this one?
we try to terminate the report through program_abort but it is raising an exception

Reporting Services Timeout but Query keep running?

The Gobal value for the reporting timeout is 10 minutes (600).
I Have a report which takes around (1hr to run).. The report correctly timesout (page cannot be display)
but the query kept on running..until it completed.
Is there any way to stop this from happening (Report and Query timeout after 10 minutes)
I have look on the internet and in my rsreportserver.config ..

I am getting dump error while running one report in one select query

While running a report program, I am getting a dump error in one select query. So could you please correct the select query so that I can't face the dump error.

Hi Bansidhar,
It would be helpful if you could tell what type of dump it is.
If it is a timeout you should check whether l_t_backorder_item is empty - in this case ALL document numbers are selected. f you get the timeout with a populated table consider converting the l_t_backorder_item table into one ore more ranges tables - the select with ranges tables is way quicker than 'for all entries'. But take care the ranges table has not to many entries - the SAP SQL converter puts this into one huge SQL statement and this might become too big to be handled by the database (depends on the actual underlying database).
I would also consider splitting the SELECT into two (2nd one with 'appending into table') to make the code easier to understand It also helps the database system determining a strategy for the select.

Using Reporting Services Web Service methods to run a report with query parameters

I'm attempting to use the ReportExecutionService methods to process a report that contains four parameters, two of them query parameters. In total, the report must execute two queries. The two query parameters are determined by the execution of
the second query.
So, I've read about GetExecutionInfo and SetExecutionParams. To quote the MSDN page for GetExecutionInfo, "Use this method iteratively with the SetExecutionParameters method to evaluate parameters that have query- or expression-based defaults."
Can anybody explain how to use this, or any other method, to execute a report such as mine? The first query gets the rows of the report; the second query gets the row count. LoadReport does not seem to do the trick by itself. I need to use the technique
described in the quote above, I think.

If I understand correctly, you create a local report which choose report from Report Server. You have two query parameters in the report which are returned by stored procedure. Currently, you cannot get default values for these parameters when run the report.
Based on my test, if we haven’t configure these parameter with Available Values, we can reproduce the same issue. Also, caching issue may cause the same issue. If the issue is persist, please delete the corresponding report in the report server. Then, redeploy
it to check.

Query to run report

Hi,
I need to write a query to develop report as follows :
select pcode, pname, sum(qty)
from invoice_child, product
where invpcode=pcode
and pcode=(:vpcode)
group by pcode, pname;
Here bind variable ":vpcode" is referred in forms vpcode column and in forms, vpcode is tabular column which hold multiple value for pcode. How to run the report.
I am in problem, because I need to run a report for some selective product.

You can't refer a forms-item in a report, but you can pass the items-value to the report. In the report, create a user-parameter named vpcode, then add a parameter to your reports-call in your with that name and the desired value (have a look at RUN_PRODUCT or RUN_REPORT_OBJECT, depending on your versions)

How to get report (SQL Query) generating Run Time

There is a Standard report of Payroll which show employee transfer information on the bases of location, grade job or organization, now to get actual query which is generated by run time in report builder including whether single column parameter or lexical parameter " because currently the query in not complicate but the parameter and lexical parameter is much more due to this not quite easy to under stand just copy past it into toad or pl/sql developer,
Kindly share your experience to get such kind of query in you working time.

Went to startup -then to all programs.
Clicked on windows defender, next click on tools.
click (ck) on software Explorer. next go to the category box and select startup.
All the programs at startup will be listed with either permitted or disabled!

BO Edge 3.1 run Crystal Report with sub query or Union

I have some reports with subquery and union SQL Command and put them in SAP BO Edge 3.1 server. The results are very disappointed. I scheduled 3 instances of the same report to run at 5:30 a.m. . When I used the Crystal Report 2008 to run the report, it took only 3 minutes. One instance took several minutes but other two never came back. When I came back to the office at 8:30 a.m., they were still running. What is the problem with SAP BO Edge? Any solution? the reports are very important and I have to get up at 5:30 a.m. to check to see the result and re run as needed. Any suggestion?

Deadlocked error message when running crystal report

Hi All,
I need a bit of guidance as to the following problem.
Seems there is a lock being created in SQL when running some crystal reports.
When trying to run a report the following message is displayed:
Database connection Error L 'ADO Error Code: 0x
Source: Microsoft SQL Native Client
Description: Transaction (Process ID 302) was deadlocked on lock resources with another process and has been chosen as the deadlock victim. Rerun the transaction.
SQL State: 40001
Native Error: [Database Vendor Code: 1205 ]'
The error is happening intermittently when refreshing the report. It does not seem to happen when no users are using the system.
Is there any way to stop this from happening? Or is this some kind of limitation with crystal and how it accesses the database?

I have had this problem with long running queries as well. I ended up doing the main part of the query in a view using WITH (NOLOCK) for each table and then reporting on the view.
This had extra benefits of making the report much simpler and often making the query more efficient and easier to test as well.

I am getting this error "STOP: System error in program SAPLRRS2 and form SELOPT_ASSIGN-01", when I am trying to run the report from the 4th button "Display report on Web" on BEx Analyzer. Can anybody tell me what this and how we can resolve it.
