Stop running LaBVIEW at the specific time

Hello....I am newbie in LabVIEW...I want to use the LabVIEW software to analysis the data get from the real time experiment...Besides that, i want to save the data in the notepad file with the file termination at the specified interval time using Write to measurement file (block diagram)....
My problem : how can i stop the collecting data in the notepad file at the specific time???...for example, i want to take the data only for 30 minutes in the real time experiment with file termination interval is 10 minutes.....so, only 3 data is saved in notepad file.h..
Here, I attached the LabVIEW program that I already modified and combined with PIco 3206 (Driver LabVIEW)
so.....somebody can help me????

Just use the Elapsed Time Express VI in your loop to see how much time has elapsed since the loop started. When that time has exceeded 1800 seconds, stop the loop. Or to do three 10 minute intervals, wait until 600 seconds has elapsed, then set the Reset input to true and write to file. Repeat three times and stop the loop.
The installed LabVIEW help for this VI should link to an example that can help you get started.

  • How to make two PCs (one local, one remote) control the same running vi at the same time?

    Hi Labviewers,
I have a vi running, and two PCs are monitoring it, one is local and another one is remote.
I can see the remote front panel at the remote machine by using application property node, but it seems only one of the two PCs has the control of the running VI at the same time.
Is there any way to make the two PCs both have the control of the same vi at the same time?  Switching back and forth the control between two PCs is really annoying.
Thanks a lot for any help.
    Anne

What exactly are you trying to control?
Perhaps another approach? You could use "Shared Variables" from LV 8.0 and have a copy of the writer VI on each of the control PCs edit the value on the host PC. But as soon as I post, someone is going to talk about multiple writers to shared resources being a bad idea.... so just be careful or you may try to edit a value that has already been changed.

  • What is the best way to stop parallel loops at the same time, from any loop?

If there is a vi with two or more parallel while loops, what would be a good method to simultaneously stop parallel loop execution, from any of the parallel loops? My intent was to try and do this without local variables, so I used notifiers. This seems like an ok method for two loops, but how about for n loops?
In addition, my code has a flaw. I use an OR block to compare the stop status of each of the loops. This works fine most of the time, but if both loops are triggered to stop at the same time, the boolean result will be false, causing the loops to never stop. How can this be avoided?
    Thanks,
    Curt

I think you have the right idea, notifiers are one of the better ways to stop parallel loops. You can simplify things by using 1 notifier for everything. I modified your VI to use 1 notifier, it will set the notifier to True ONLY if the loop is stopping, then it stops. The other loop will read the notifier status, and stop based on it the next time it executes.
I also changed the second loop to stop and notify if it has an error (that is usually a good idea, especally if you have I/O or other things that can cause problems)
I also changed the switch mechanical action, that will eliminate the problems for your second question.
The VI's attached are written in Labview 7.0
P.S. If you have 7.1, the Queues are polymorphic, meaning that the typecast operat
    ions are NOT needed!

FWIW, I have used Sophos regularly for several years now (including on my new iMac running Mountain Lion versions 10.8.2 & now 10.8.3) & never had any problems with it on any of the half dozen or so Macs I have installed it on.
Quite a few people automatically assume all Mac A-V software is troublesome junk, & many will leap to the conclusion it is the cause of some problem without considering other potential (& often much more likely) causes, regardless of which A-V product is installed.
Obviously I hope, not all A-V products are alike, so it doesn't make a lot of sense to me to condemn them all because of problems with one of them. Regarding Sophos in particular, finding first hand reports of it causing problems is quite difficult -- typically, if you ask for the details it turns out to be a second or third hand report & there isn't enough info available to know for certain if it is the real cause or not.
This is not to say it is impossible for it to cause problems, just that it is prudent to consider all the possibilities before concluding that any one of them is the cause.

  • Error message trying to run Parallels for the first time

    Hi,
I've got Vista Ultimate installed on my MacBook Pro via Boot Camp. It works great.
I'm using the 15-day Parallels trial, and every time I try and run it for the first time, it gives me the same error.
After trying to run Windows, it says
    "Error: 0xc0000225
Windows failed to load because the firmware (BIOS) is not ACPI compatible."
I have no idea what this means. I ran Boot Camp normally and everything seemed to work fine.
    Any ideas?

Have you read through their documentation and installed the necessary tools?

  • Prevent Jobs Running Twice at the same time

Hi all, I would like to know if they are any ways to prevent a release job to run twice at the same time. For exemple, if  I create a job to run every 5 minutes and the job did not finish after 5 minutes, the scheduler will start the same job agains.  This situation causing us bad issues.
I double check the job start conditions in sm37 but I found nothing special.
    Thanks for help

    Hi Marc,
We use a workaround. We have asked our abap developpers to write a small utility report which checks if the job it is part of is already running and aborts the job if it is the case.
When we need a job which must absolutely run only once at the same time, we just add this utility as first step.

  • On Game Center how do you stop players from seeing the last time you have played a game?

on Game Center how do you stop players from seeing the last time you have played a game? Or the last time you signed in.

hello, this should be addressed in a later version of firefox. as a workaround in the meanwhile you could try this: enter '''about:config''' into the firefox location bar (confirm the info message in case it shows up) & search for the preference named '''browser.sessionstore.resume_from_crash'''. double-click it and change its value to '''false'''.

  • My top button stopped working this is the second time will they replace it for free?

ii got my iphone a year ago in september within the first few months the lock button quit so i sent it away to get fixed and they made me pay 40 then i got it back and i couldnt get service anywhere so they sent it away and fixed it making me pay 198 to have it fixed i have had it for a couple months and the button on top stopped again this is the 3rd time in a year and im sick of it will they send me a new one free of charge becuase i am an unhappy customer ?

wow i dont know who you are getting your phone "fixed" through but its not apple.
Apple does not charge prices like that.
If you got it 1 year ago in september, the hardware warranty has expired by now unless you had your device covered by applecare insurance.
and if it WERE covered by limited hardware warranty, an obvious hardware issue like the power button not working is covered under the warranty UNLESS it was due to accidental damage.
So if you paid 198 dollars, chances are its because you dropped your phone and thats why the button was not working,.
..and even then, the iphone 4 out of warranty/accidental damage replacement fee is 149. not 198.

  • I am trying to run facetime for the first time, marks an error, I am trying to run facetime for the first time, marks an error

Hi! Need help to run facetime, for the first time.
An error occurs everytime I try, I quit as its says, but not working

    Hello Vivmex,
It sounds like you are getting the following message, "An internal FaceTime error occurred: There was a problem with FaceTime. You need to quit and open FaceTime again."
This message comes up if you double click on the FaceTime icon on the dock.  If you single click the FaceTime icon on the dock, FaceTime should launch normally:
    Symptoms
When opening FaceTime from the Dock, the following alert message may appear:
"An internal FaceTime error occurred. There was a problem with FaceTime. You need to quit and open FaceTime again."
    Resolution
Click the FaceTime icon in the Dock one time, then wait for the application to finish opening.
    Additional Information
This can happen if you attempt to open FaceTime a second time while it is already loading, such as by clicking the FaceTime Dock icon more than once.
You can find the full article here:

  • How many computers can we run our license for LabVIEW at the same time?

We have LabVIEW 8.2 and we need it to operate on several machines at the same time. How can we do this? Can we check to see if our current license allow us to do this?

Are you talking about developing code on multiple machines or just running programs? If you build your applications into an executable you can deploy those to any machine without buying anything else. If you need the full development environment on each machine but will not be doing development on them look for something called a Debug License.

  • C++ Call to DLL made in LabVIEW Fails the second time it is called

I have an application where a C++ executive calls a LabVIEW DLL (a LabVIEW application built into a DLL).
The executive calls and operates the DLL fine the first time (NT, the applications task manager shows LabVIEW runtime runs, then stops when the DLL is done. However, when the executive calls the DLL a second time, it hangs, and the runtime engine never shows up in the applications task manager as running.
However, this only occurs when something like IMAQ, DAQ, or another custom DLL call is occurring. We tried it with a simple DLL that only uses a call to the sound VIs, and it seems to run fine, although as the program called is very short, and the task manager slow, we never see the runtime engin
e in the task manager. We are going to put a popup dialog in to ensure that the DLL is being called reliably, but we believe it is.
We are unable to answer why when we call something that uses IMAQ, that the DLL doesn't run right the second time. We are unsure of the reasons, but believe it to be related to thread creation and destruction in the executive.
If anyone out there has any insight into this, we would be happy to see it.
We will be putting in a formal request for support from NI, but wanted to poll the audience as well, as we know from first hand experience that LabVIEW users often times have more experience with this sort of thing than developers.
    Thanks a bunch

I often answer emails from home, but I work for NI on the LV development
team. So anything I know about, NI knows about. The info I was
describing about the DLL execution system is not well documented since
we were hoping that it would work we
ll with the way Windows Apps are
typically written. I suspect that we will need to write a Tech Note
to cover the nitty gritty. This sort of info gets lost in manuals,
and it is subject to change as we learn how people are expecting to
    use it.
Anyway, my post was to explain why your use of it didn't work.
In general, we believe that LV DLLs are thread savvy, reentrant
VIs can be called from multiple threads simultaneously, execution can
continue in the background after the DLL call has returned, and the UI
is live provided the calling app processes messages in that thread.
If you have other issues or questions, just ask.

  • I have the lastest (10.7) I tunes software running on a 64 bit windows 7 system. Today it stopped running all of the tv shows I have downloaded. The error message says that a "problem has stopped i tunes from working and windows is shutting it down" ?

i have the latest (10.7) itunes installed on a 64 bit Windows 7 based system. Up unitil today I had NO  problem running the TV shows that I have downloaded from I Tunes.
Today it stopped running all videos. It loads the information in the top box about length & name. An error message pops saying "an error has caused I tunes to stop working". "Windows will check for a solution and notify if therer is a solution."
Music plays fine so i know that something works on itunes.
    Any ideas?

  • I have tried to transfer files from my windows media player to my ipod but it saysthe device has stopped responding or stopped working.this is the first time ive connected nmy ipod to my new pc.any ideas?

I have tried to transfer music from my windows 7 media player to my ipod. This is the first time i have tried to use my ipod on my new computer .In the media player it doesnt give me the option to add to itunes library it just give me the option to send to my ipod and when i do this it says that the device has stopped responding or isnt working.Any ideas? coz i aint got the foggiest where i am going wrong. My ipod keeps telling me to update the software, but then will i lose the music thats already on my ipod?

You should import the music (that is listed in Windows Media Player) into your iTunes Library - on your computer - to add it to your existing iTunes Library. I take it you have moved (or copied) your music from the old computer to the new computer, haven't you?
Then Sync your iPod to that Library.
iPods will not respond to Windows Media Player, they're designed to connect to iTunes.

  • Process chians r not running as per the scheduled time.

    Hi sriends,
Unable to run the process chains(back ground).
Every day our process chains r runing properly but all of sudden they are not triggering on the specified time and there is no error msg.
pls give me some idea to resolve this....
    Thanks in advance,
    Reddy.

    Hi Ram,
You need to go and check the released Job of your Process Chain.  Go to Planning View of your Process Chain, then right click on your start variant and check for "Display all Jobs".
Then it will show the list of all finished and released Job. Check whether the finished Jobs are having any delay. If there is any delay then it is related to your system performance. If not double click on the released JOb and check the schduling details.
    Hope it helps!!!
