Storage Stock to Warehouse stock

Hi All,
Our client gone live with basic modules MM FI SD. Now planning to go live WM. Plant AAAA Storage location BBBB WH No CCC. What is the best practice to convert Storage location stock to WM Bin Stock. Do we need to create new storage location(DDDD) and  assign that to WH(CCC) and then transfer Stock from Old storage location BBBB to new storage lcoation DDDD ? Please let me know the best practice and T codes for the same.

This question has been asked several times...
Yes, you should create a new storage location and solve the problem via stock transfer. Please read SAP's sugestion:

  • RE: Difference between Storage location and warehouse

    Hi All,
What is the difference between storage location and warehouse?

    Hi,
First of all Storage Lcoation is part of Inventory Management.
Warehouse is part of Logistics Execution.
Storage location is part of SAPu2019s enterprise structure that holds the stock quantity
Option: To maintain a single storage bin for every material in every storage location
To simplify: To utilize a storage location as the u201Cstorage facilityu201D means that the materialu2019s actual bin location is not important, or that the material is located in a single bin throughout the storage.
Warehouse is part of SAPu2019s enterprise structure that holds the stock bin location
To simplify: When a warehouse (Warehouse Management) is utilized as a storage facility, a materialu2019s actual bin location is of great importance
Advantage: Track a materialu2019s changing bin location
Warehouse Management has greater applications for use in a storage facility
Disadvantage: More complexity and usually requires more  data entry
    Hope this helps.

  • How to get Storage unit and Warehouse number from Handling Unit.

    hello all,
I have Handling unit and Material in my program as an input, using these two fields i have to get corresponding storage unit and ware house number, to pick up transfer order.
Can anybody explain me who can we get Storage Unit and Warehouse Number from Handling Unit.
I know we can pull transfer order from table LTAK & LTAP using warehouse number.
But i dont understand how to get warehouse number from handling unit.
There is table LSUTO which has warehouse and Handling unit relation, but in our system there is not data maintained in that table. So, i was just wondering how can i get warehouse number from the given handling unit number.
    please guide me
    thanks

    Hi ,
Check out the handling unit item table VEPO. You got storage location(LGORT) in it.
Reward points if it was useful.

  • Reservation of stock at Storage Type level in Warehouse

    Hi Gurus,
My client is currently using ORACLE ERP system and they are migrating to SAP.
In ORACLE there is a flexibility wherein reservation can be activated for warehouse stock.
However, in SAP we are mapping the multiple warehouses present in ORACLE as Storage types.
So, I would like to know whether there is a way to reserve the stocks at storage type level.
According to my analysis direct reservation is possible at plant and storage location  level.
However I would like to know from you whether there is a direct way to reserve the stocks in storage type in warehouse or any in-direct way possible to reserve the storage type stock?
    Thanks & Regards
    Subhasis

However, in SAP we are mapping the multiple warehouses present in ORACLE as Storage types.
That's probably a bad move. A physical warehouse should be at least one storage location, and storage types should only be used for sub organization inside a warehouse.
For example if Storage types are used for High Rack, Bulk, etc (what they are supposed to be used for) there is no reason to reserve stock in a specfic storage type.
Storage type vs Storage location. A "type" shouldn't be used to separate different warehouses.

  • Transaction code to check warehouse stock with storage section combination

    Hello Gentalemen,
Is there any transaction code to check the warehouse stock with combination of storage section in Warehouse Management?
        Please let me know.
    Thanks

You can use LX02 or LX03. In the tool bar click the third button which will give you the dynamic inputs from LDB(click the storage bin drop down and click on storage section). You can provide the storage section there.

  • Create the stock in storage bin level

    Hai all
while i am doing transfer of order it is asking that storage unit type and the material stock is not maintained in storage bin .
can anybody tell me how to maintain the stock in bin level .please help me is there any tcode for that
    regards
    satish

    Dear Satish
A storage type generally contains several storage spaces or slots. These are called storage bins in Warehouse Management (WM). The storage bin is the smallest available unit of space in a warehouse. The storage bin therefore describes the position in the warehouse where the goods are or can be stored.
Since the address of a storage bin is frequently derived from a coordinate system, a storage bin is often referred to as a coordinate. The coordinate 01-02-03 for example, can refer to a storage bin in row 1, stack 2, and level 3.
You assign each storage bin to a specific warehouse number and storage type according to its location. You must also assign each storage bin to a storage section.
You can also define the following additional characteristics of a storage bin:
             --> Maximum weight
             --> Total capacity
             --> Fire containment section
--> Storage bin type (for example, for small or large pallets)
With certain stock placement strategies, the storage bin type plays a significant role in optimizing the automatic search for a storage bin in connection with the pallet type. For example, you can define the WM putaway strategy to place large industrial pallets into a specific large bin type and smaller pallets into small bins.
<i><b>For information on how to define storage bins, call up the Implementation Guide (IMG) for Warehouse Management and see under Master Data --> Storage Bins .</b></i>
Generally speaking, you can use any combination of letters and numbers for a storage bin coordinate with the exception of certain alphanumeric characters that are used for stock placement strategy P (according to pallet or storage unit type).
When goods are placed into storage, the system selects coordinates in ascending order according to specific sort criteria, and assigns the next available storage bin based on the coordinate structure you define for creating bins.

  • Stock in storage type 999

    Hi,
Actually when we confirm a picking stock transfer order, if it has diferences, stock goes automatically to 999 storage type.
We have the problem that ATP (sales availability) looks at plant level, so if the stock in 999 is unrestric, sales orders confirm that stock (if no stock in other storage type).
So, we have to block or to put in quality control.
There is an standar procedure that when we confirm diferences in the picking stock transfer, stock goes automatically to 999 storage type, but like block stock? It means, that sap change the status automatically of the stock that goes to 999 storage type?
Thanks in advance for the help.
    Regards
    Enzo

    Hello,
During sales order creation, avaibility check carried out at IM level. Hence even though you block the quant  at  storage type level, stock would be available for sales. I would suggest following
( 1)  configure posting change LQ02- of WM-IM by going in to following path
           OLML--->WM>Interface>Inventory management-->Define posting change -
    >define movement type
configure unrestricted to block and block to unrestricted movement type for your warehouse.
    (2)  Schedule background job of LQ02 transaction code  -- Program RLLQ0200 with variant as 999 storage type, your warehouse number and WM movement type of unrestricted to block. Schedule the job at regular interval.
The result of this schedule is, stock would be blocked in IM as well as WH level and will not be available for sales.
    Thanks,
    Milind

in your training documents (just kidding) .
You wrote that your storage location is warehouse managed. But MI31 is the transaction to craete physical inventory documents for a non-warehouse-managed location.
You have to create your physical inventory with WM transactions like LX16.

  • How to remove storage bin stock

    Short text
Stock Comparison Inventory Management / Warehouse Management
    Description
Using this report you can generate an inventory comparison between the IM System (Inventory Management) and the WM System (Warehouse Management).
On the selection screen, you can limit the area for comparison by entering the plant / storage location, plant / warehouse number or only the warehouse number.
In addition to specifying the area, you can also determine the extent of information to be issued.  Here you have three options:
    1. "With bin inventory"
In addition to generating the corresponding stock figures, you can also have a list of the corresponding WM bin quantities included.
    2. "All data on material"
Even if only one difference occurs in one of the listed combinatations of material / batch / special stock indicator / supplier, all material combinations are listed. This can be very helpful when searching for errors.
    3. "Clear differences"
If you mark this field, the system will generate a batch input session. By starting the batch input session, the differences to be cleared are removed in the IM system.  Negative WM stock figures and stock differences in returns will not be cleared.
If you want to have a batch input file generated for the purpose of clearing the differences, it is important, for consistency reasons, that the materials in the respective warehouse are blocked in order that postings affecting stock figures can be prevented.
CAREFUL: If you generate this session, all the material stocks belonging to the respective warehouse number are blocked completely, that is, for the duration of the program, no postings affecting the stock in the warehouse will be possible!
    Prerequisites
The comparison is also possible for warehosue numbers managed on a decentralized basis.
    Output
You receive a list with various materials. The list contains the following information, for example:
The first line contains the plant, storage location, warehouse number, material number, total stock in inventory management, total stock in the warehouse, and the difference between the stocks.
The following line contains the first combination of batch / special stock indicator / supplier (or sales document and item number for sales order stock) and stock category (Q,R,S, ), the stock figures in Inventory Management, in Warehouse Management, and the difference.
If a batch input session is to be generated, the list contains a note in the log as to whether or not a session has been generated or behind the pushbutton "non-postable stocks", which materials could not be cleared because of negative stock figures or because they belong to returns stock.

  • At the time of go-live, how to adjust the stock in the bins which match- -

    Hello,
Materials are already distributed in to the bins physically where SAP WH mgt not implemented. When we implement the SAP/(at the time of go-live),we have following issues
When we go live, then how to adjust the stock in the system as per actual physical bin stocks in WMS?
                 OR
DO we have to tell user to adjust the stock in the bins physically as per the system stock?
    Thanks

    hi,
your stock level get differed between storage level and warehouse level? if so go to LX23 AND EQUAL THE DIFFERENCE.
if u want to change the bin level adjustment use lt01 and lt10 tran. as per your req(at the time of go live)  adjust according your inventory stock.

  • WM Storage Location control problem - no TR created in receiving warehouse

    Hi all,
I have configured the system to perform a 311 mvt from sloc 4002 to sloc 0010. Both Slocs have different warehouse numbers assigned.
The transfer is working fine, however in the receiving warehouse no TR is being generated even though I am using the standard *** 311 movement type which has create TR flag set.
If I disable the config and perform the 311 in MIGO after confirming the TR in the sending warehouse, the stock is moved to the new warehouse and a TR is created.
    Has anyone experienced this before?
    Mark

    2nd entry in storage location control is ZF2 501 DE01 0010 311
    1st case:The entry.e. ZF2 501 DE01 0010 311  seems to be wrong.
Your warehouse storage location 0010 is managed with ZF4 and not ZF2.
But in this case, the way you created entries concludes that you want to transfer the stock from one Sloc to other Sloc which have separate warehouses.
i feel your approach to excute this scenario seems to be not a valid one. I don't understand why you are running this process as WM transaction followed by IM document. You said that you are creating the transfer order first.. must be with wm mvt 311 in LT01. Standard WM mvt 311 doesn't allows manual TO creation.Your both storage locations are assigned to different warehouses. You should post the movement in IM first, then follow the WM activities.
2nd case:If you say that ZF2 is correct, then your storage location is wrong, it should be  4002 instead of 0010  and you are transferring stock from one storage type to other storage within same warehouse.
If you want to do this scenarion as WM followed by IM, then please change the Wm mvt 311 in ZF2 to allow manual TO creation.
In movement type properties, set the destination storage type as 501.
    Strorage location control should be ZF2 501 DE01 4002 311
Please let me know your thoughts on this.

  • Validity table for stock cube

    hi,
I am designing a stock cube with non-cumulative values.
Data for amounts of stock movements I plan to get from Transfer Order documents.
Data will be extracted on daily basis and in cube I want to have among others following chars: quant, storage bin, storage type and warehouse nr.
I would like to include in validity table such all of chars mentioned above (i.e. quant, storage bin, storage type, warehouse nr and date).
I am wondering is it ok to include so many chars in this table. Are there any guidelines for designing this table?
    Can you suggest any documentation?

You can use RSDG_CUBE_VALT_MODIFY report for this.

  • WM Stock Removal

    Hi,
I have the following situation (and i'm kinda new to WM), hope someone can assist.
    - materials/batches are received from the vendor in container and/or barrels. It is possible that a quanitity of material from one batch is delivered in a few containers and a few barrels. 4 barrels are combined on a pallet.
    - we defined two storage types. One for containers and one for pallet storage. The container storage is a hall without any physical racks/bins. It is just one large area. The pallet storage has racks and bins. 1 pallet can occupy a bin.
    - At goods receipt the user selects the units in which the paint is delivered (barrel/container), enters the specific quantity per barrel (this can vary), and put away in the correct storage type is carried out. So far so good.
    - When a production order (external system) is released for processing, the material must be issued. The warehouse employee selects the correct material and the available batches are sorted on batch production date (oldest batch first).
    -  We use the storage type indicator in the material master, which causes the system to look at barrels first, then containers. This is however not correct, because the quantity that is requested in the production order must determine the storage type from which the material is issued.
How can i make this work?
For example: a small order for a quantity of 200 may not initially be supplied by a container (unless barrel not available), a large order for a quantity of 10000 may not be initially supplied by a barrel (unless container not available). The storage type indicator tries to use up (current sequence) the barrel storage stock first, then the container stock.
A new production run must always be supplied by a full storage unit first in case the order quantity is equal or more than one full unit, so we tried out partial pallet strategy. This seems to work per storage type.
    Thanks in advance....

    Thanks,
That removal strategy seems to do it.
    I have another question:
We have one WM managed storage location (X) and two storage locations (Y and Z) which are not managed by the warehouse. When we perform a 311 movement from X to Y or Z, it depends on the destination storage location from what storage type in X the material has to come from.
    I tried the following:
    - I created a special movement indicator to indicate the movement of material from X to Y.
    - I interfaced the normal 311 IM movement to WM movement 311 and the 311 with indicator 1 movement to WM movement 911.
    - In OMLY, i set up references to movement types for storage type search. 311 has reference 1 and 911 has reference 2.
    - These settings can also be seen in the movement type definition for the warehouse.
    - I created two storage type indicators. L01 with reference 1 and L04 with reference 2, both with other storage types to withdraw material from.
    - There is a storage type indicator present in the material master (L01).
When i post the normal 311 without special movement indicator in IM, the TO is automatically generated.
When i post the 311 with movement indicator 1, the system generates a message that the storage type search for L01 is not defined.
    What's going wrong here?
Is there another way of accomplishing the task?
    Thanks!
