Stored passwords not updating sites

Although FF4 stored my passwords it isnt automatically inserting them when I visit the relevant sites. I have to go to the tools/option /security folder to retrieve the details then enter them manually. Next time I access the site all is well.

Websites remembering you and automatically log you in is stored in a cookie.<br />
So if you do not keep cookies then you have to log in again on each visit or at least after restarting Firefox.
In [[Private Browsing]] mode all cookies are session cookies that expire if that session is ended, so websites won't remember you.<br />
In [[Private Browsing]] mode Firefox won't fill names and passwords automatically.
* Create an allow cookie exception (Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: Exceptions) to keep such a cookie, especially for secure websites and if cookies expire when Firefox is closed.
* In [[Private Browsing]] mode all cookies are session cookies that expire if that session is ended, so websites won't remember you.
Do not use [[Clear Recent History]] to clear the "Cookies" and the "Site Preferences"
Clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, and passwords.

  • IWeb not updating site changes, even overnight!

    Hi iWeb-experts,
Having problems with iWeb and have waded through the site and other forums and yet to find a solution.
Site is marccheckley.com. I successfully moved the site before MobileMe closed shop and made updates to the site a few months back.
Now I'm trying to upload further changes but iWeb has stopped functioning. I get no status that the site is being changed, as it was previously. And I know this has not happened as I have it linked to my Facebook and no "updated website" has popped up on my Wall.
I even left it overnight to update website changes and still nothing. Even clearing brower's cache etc. I tested the FTP connection all good and nothing been changed since my last updates a while back.
All 'pages' of site remain red, not updated in iWeb.
Really not sure what's happened. Nothing but probs since the closure of MobileMe, my podcast is still on hiatus due to linking problems, now website issues with iWeb.
Anyone have an idea and fix?
    Always appreciated.

If you are using the iWeb FTP to upload make sure the box next to "Update my Facebook profile when I publish this site" is unchecked. Checking this box prevents the FTP from working.
Also make sure you have no bad file names with spaces or special characters - particularly image files. This will halt the upload process.

  • FileVault password not updating

    Hi everyone,
I have a user whose FileVault password does not update when he changes his network password.
The users all login using an AD account, the accounts are set up as mobile users and as FileVault users. All other users seem to be working ok but one particular users account does not update his password and I cannot fix this!
His Mac is a 2011 Mac Pro running Mountain Lion, other FileVault user passwords update ok on the same Mac, his AD account is ok, he has network connectivity and I have tried manually changing his password with him.
    Any ideas?

I love it when Linc replies to a thread because you just know it will fix it
Cheers mate I will give that a go...

  • Stored passwords not syncing between computers.

I'm trying to use Firefox to Syncronize data between computers. It was working, but somewhere along the way it has stopped. I now have three computers, of which I'm trying to have two of them synced together. I thought that the issue was account related, so I deleted my original account & had to create a new one (with a different e-mail address - I'd like to change that back if possible). Anyhow, now it seems as if bookmarks are synced OK, but my saved passwords are not. Given that I can't tell what the status is of a sync, it is hard for me to tell where the process is.
So, I have one computer (a Macbook) with passwords on it that I am syncing and I have another (a new Dell Laptop), that I would like to have updated.
What do I need to do to get my passwords synchronized?
    Thank you,
    Paul

Make sure that you are forcing syncing by pressing Sync Now in your computers and allow some time (several minutes) to have all the information sent to the server and down from the server. If this still doesn't work, follow the steps in this blogpost to create a bug:
    https://philikon.wordpress.com/2011/06/13/how-to-file-a-good-sync-bug/
This would be really helpful. I've seen other people having issues with passwords but I'm unable to replicate it.

  • DW CS4 not updating sites from template.  Why?

Ok, this has become quite annoying.  Can anyone tell me if this is a common occurrence with DW, because I just started my website and, if it's going to do this, I'd just as soon use Adobe GoLive or something else to create the site.
Here's an rerun of what happened:
    Created Template
    Saved Template
File > New > Page from template > My Site > My Template > Checked box that says update page from template > Create
    Save new site (blah.html)
    Make change to template
Save template, doesn't update newly created site (in fact, doesn't even show that it is).
Rebuilt site cache, same nonsense.  Tried to update manually via modify / templates menu, same nonsense.  Resaved template, recreated page, same nonsense.
Irritated.  This process is taking way too long for something that shouldn't be happening.  Anyone know of a surefire fix, as this has happened a couple of times.
Oh, and yes, when I open the page, there is a marker in the top right corner identifying the template which it is associated with (in case anyone was wondering).

I have DW CS4, not DW4 (sorry about that).
Still, I read through the SSI information you sent me and that looks.... less of a hassle.
    I'll go that route.
    Thanks!

  • Template not Updating Site

In a table cell in my template, I first deleted the contained
library item, THEN introduced a new library item. When asked to
update all pages based on the template, I clicked YES. But no pages
    were updated.
The cell in this case contains an editable region.
    How can I solve this?
    Thanks, -Barry

By inserting the Library item into the editable region on
    child pages.
Changes to Template editable regions DO NOT propagate to
    child pages.

  • Muse not updating site

I downloaded the latest version of Muse earlier today and made a couple small changes to a website and uploaded them to the site. Everything worked fine. Later I went back to make a couple more changes (including changing the name of one of the pages). After uploading the changes the website does not show any of the changes (yes, I refreshed the page), and the page that I renamed now results in a page not found. Even if I re-upload the entire site the changes do not appear. The upload progress bar shows that it is exporting the page and uploading it along with all the assets, but checking the site in a browser still shows the unaltered site (Yes, Irefreshed the page). I've never had any problems like this before. Any suggestions?

What's the URL for the site?
In the Options panel of the Page Properties dialog is "Export Page" checked?
Are you using Publish, File > Upload to FTP Host, or Export as HTML and a third party FTP program?

  • IWeb 1.1.2 not updated site fully

I added some text to an existing page and added another page that contained a movie. The movie page updated fine but the front page with the text on it won't update? Any ideas? I even added a color gradient to the background which it updated but it wont change the text.

do that everytime after you publish - because many visit their site often and so you save a lot of cache!

  • Previously stored passwords in v. 3 not working in v. 4

in v. 3 of Firefox I had the option of storing passwords for web sites. in v. 4 I can not get all of the stored passwords to appear so that I can enter the websites. A new looking window with a picture of a key pops up asking me if I want to save the log in and password for the site when in fact in v. 3 it already was. Example: ancestry.com, www.1000trails.com, etc.
I know where the passwords are stored and everything looks OK. The information is not coming through the v. 4 to my Mac.

    scan -x0 -t1 -s1 /usr/share/dvb/dvb-t/uk-CrystalPalace | tee channels.conf
I have some channels (so far) to work with that (UK Crystal Palace). Far from working correctly though.

  • I have stored the password for a site I use often, but Firefox does not remember. Have to type in each time.

User name and password are stored correctly in preferences, but the fields remain blank whenever I try to login to a site I use often. No prompt "Do you want firefox to remember..." Do get a popup "do you want to update password?" but it makes no difference whether I check yes or not.
No such problem with several other sites whose passwords are stored.

You must have the "Remember passwords" feature enabled for the browser to remember them. In Firefox 2.0 and above, make sure Tools -> Options -> Security / Passwords -> "Remember passwords for sites" is checked.
Additionally, you may have once told the browser to never save the passwords for the site. In Firefox 2.0 and above, check the list under Tools -> Options -> Security / Passwords -> Exceptions. Also make sure you are not private browsing while saving password.
    Cheers

  • 10.[4-5] Supplicant does not update stored password on dot1x auth failures.

    Hello All,
Here's a problem that is making me insane.
If you use dot1x authentication at your site and your users store their password in their keychain and the password changes (via helpdesk, one-time password, or whatever) the next time the client attempts to connect and the authentication fails, the supplicant in 10.4-5 doesn't offer any dialog for the user to enter a new password and update the entry in the keychain.
On 10.4: Manually clear out the keychain entry for the SSID in question.
On 10.5: The key doesn't appear in the keychain (dumb) and you have to deactivate/reactivate the interface and hope it clears out the saved password.
Does anyone know if there are any tweaks that can be done via command line for the eapolclient to work properly instead of just leaving users in the enterprise dead or confused?

Actually I have your book already! Thanks so much for taking the time to write it. I'm a long time Oracle DBA, but I had a hard time with JDeveloper before your book came along. I'm working through it as we speak. Congrats to all at Oracle...for all the hard work on Fusion and ADF. What incredible power in these products and your book started me off and gave me a giant head-start. Great Book!!! Thanks again, Don

  • Firefox had saved my login name and password for a site, when I changed the password, FF won't ask to save/update it so I have to enter it manually now. How do I get it to prompt me in FF7.01?

Using FF7.01 on a HP Pavilion dv6775us laptop running Vista Home (updated continuously)
The site owner changed the rules in order to improve password security so I was required to create a new password. When I did so I was not prompted by FF7.01 to save the new password.
When I next logged into the site, FF remembered the user name but presented the old (invalid) password. I was forced to manually enter the new password, but again was not prompted to save it to FF.
I then went into FF Security, viewed the saved passwords and deleted the entry for the site in question. I expected that when I logged into that site the next time I would be asked if I wanted to save the username and password. I wasn't.
I then exited from FF and relaunched it and again logged into the site in question. I was not prompted to save the username or password.
How do I force FF to ask for and then save the username and password?

    Thank you for your reply.
My problem isn't removing my log-in name and password for a site.
The problem is I already had the log-in name and password saved by FF, but I was required by the site to change the password. FF did not recognize that it had changed and refuses to prompt me to save the new password.
After several attempts to force the prompt, I deleted the site from the Saved Password list, hoping that the next time I entered my log-in name and password on that site FF would ask if I wanted to save both. That did not happen even after exiting FF and relaunching it.
So, right now FF will not save my log-in name and password for a site that it used track for me. Given the complexity of the new password, I really do not want to manually enter it every time I use the site.
    Regards.

  • In Security, clicking on the "Saved Password" button displays your current saved password for each site. It does not allow you to change a password. How would you do that?

In Security, clicking on the "Saved Password" button displays your current saved password for each site. It only allows you to view and delete site passwords. It does not allow you to change a password. How would you do that?

If you enter a new password Firefox should offer to change the password.
*You may not need to delete the old password. Try "Refreshing" the page, entering the site again, you may need to let Firefox fill in the old password, then enter the new password, and Firefox should ask to save the new password. See:
*If you delete the old password, you may need to "Refresh" the site after deleting the old password.

    #Go to the Security panel
#Click the "Saved Passwords" button to open the passwords manager
#Select the site in the list, then click Remove

  • How do I save a password for a site if I am not prompted by Firefox?

I am trying to save a password for a site that I previously chose not to save one for.
    I have tried:
Going into my exceptions list - it's not listed
Going into my saved password list - there's no option to manually add a site
Checking the forums but there is no solution that has worked
In one forum I followed one solution. I opened a new tab, typed in about:permissions and searched for the site. It was remembered and set to 'Allow' password storage but 0 passwords were stored so I could not use the 'Manage Passwords' button. I even tried the 'Forget About This Site' button to see if navigating back to the page would reactivate the password prompt but it did not.
    Little help?
    Thanks,
    Megan

I am having this problem with logging in to my Craigslist account. The autocomplete will enter my user name after typing the first letter, but the password does not, and I'm not prompted allow it to be saved. It used to autocomplete the password, but after I changed the password and deleted the old one in Saved Passwords, it won't save the new one. The bookmarklet doesn't seem to change anything. If this a CL issue, is there a way to circumvent it?

  • How can I force Safari v.6.1 to Save passwords for sites that request passwords NOT BE Saved"?

Since the last OS X update when Safari was updated to version 6.1, I am having problems with passwords not being saved from  specific sites that request that passwords "not be saved".
    Example: Adobe.com
I did not have problem with Safari 5.1.
When I go to Safari Preferences and "click on box" "Allow Autofill even for websites that request passwords not be saved", a pop up box opens and refers me to "SECURITY & PRIVACY" indicating that a "SCREENLOCK" must be engged to allow for this action.
    I have my firewall on.
I don't understand what they are requesring me to lock & how to do it.
Anyone who understands what I am being asked to do -or- how I can re-enable password saving, please email me.
    Thanks,
    <Email Edited by Host>

Actually, Linc's reply is EXACTLY the answer that is required.
If you go to the setting he mentions and enable the password after screen saver or sleep, then Safari 6.1 will allow you to save all the autofill login information you like, even the stuff for sites that request not to save them.
