Storyboard Views Disappear in Xcode 6.1

Hi, I am learning IOS programming with Xcode and is a rookie for all practical purposes so please bear with me. I am taking an online course and following their programming video instructions using an older version of Xcode.
There are 2 issues that I consistently run into, one of which I found a solution to:
1. The View Controller dimension doesn't reflect the actual dimension of the device selected. This was easily addressed by manually changing the Simulated Metrics Size to the proper size.
2. Adding View, Button or Label on top of a UIView causes one or more of them to disappear from the screen. I can still see the object from the list but even if they are selected, they won't appear on the storyboard. They also do not show up during simulation. If I delete one object and re-instantiate, sometimes I can keep them if there are only 2 objects. Anything more than 2, I lose everything but the last one instantiated. I don't know if this somehow is related to #1 above. Is there a solution to this?

I have the same problem.
After a change in my ListView properties I loose some columns, usually
the first and last but it's mostly random.
I had Forte completely crash couple of times after I run the app. !
I am also using ImageData in my subclass DisplayNode class

Unfortunately, only Icon and Column views can be set as global defaults. If you open a new window and set it to List view it should continue to open in that same view for the same folder.
You can submit this as a feedback request (I have done so, as have others - we're hoping for implementation in Leopard...).
Hope this helps...I know it doesn't solve the problem, but we're in the same boat, so to speak...
Ps. Are you really running 10.0.x on your G4/G5??? If so, there may be a way to set list view as default, but you should post to the 10.3 & earlier forum as this is the 10.4/Tiger forum.

BP view disappears when confirm BP in Identification screen in UTIL_IC role

Hi Experts,
As I confirm the BP in identification screen (UTIL_IC role) the BP view disappears while the Technical master data view is there on the screen , even the search results.
Steps in detail:
1. Login with UTIL_IC role.
2. Search for the Business Partner in Identification screen.
I get the search result and see the technical master data view but BP view is no more there , its all blank.
What could be the reason. I checked with the component IUICMD, DetailAccount view. It is all perfect as expected. I also checked with the view configuration and I do have entry for
Page: DETAILACCOUNT
config key: Default
component usage: Default
Object Type: Default
Object Subtype: Default.
My concern is that if something is missing in view configration at least default configuration should appear, how could it be blank.
please let me know if any solution.

Check if DO_PREPARE_OUTPUT is redefined in your system for DetailAccount view. If so do you pass iv_first_time to super-class method?[ Here is the thread|Contact Person Standard address data disappears on enter(first time)BP_CONT; where similar issue was discussed.

View disappeared from menu bar in word and i don't know how to get back

I clicked the wrong button and view disappeared from menu bar in word and I can't get it back. I've tried to reinstate it from system preferences and I've tried everything in the help menu. Please help

Bug: Views Disappears

I discovered quite by accident something kind of scary.
If a view is edited through Portal (3.0.8), and there is a
syntax problem, the view disappears.
Here is what I was presented with:
ORA-24344: success with compilation error(WWV-112301)
Error: Invalid SQL statement or you do not have privileges to
select from the Table/View (WWV-17138)
I will stick to other means to modify views.

Hi,
This is the way ALTER view is implemented in Portal.
Whenever you try to Edit a View, the old view gets dropped
and the new one is Created.
While Editing a View you must be careful to click on the Back
link on the error page to correct the view definition,
If you click on the return to Navigator, the original View
diappears.
This is also the case with most other Database Objects.

"Month View" Disappears

I've seen some posts on this before... anyone have any thoughts?
iCal works fine under the "Day" and "Week" views, but when I hit "Month View" it disappears from the screen. The program is still open, it just doesn't show anything. I have to switch the view back to Day or Week in order to see anything in iCal after that. My version is 2.0.5 (1069)

I also have a similar issue. I can view the previous month's month view and the next month's month view but this month shows month view as blank. If I then select week view, I get all my calendars. If I then click back on month view, iCal appears to freeze with a blank screen. However, just clicking on week view recovers and I can see my calendars again! Any ideas what's happened to iCal?
I've got iCal v3.0.4 (1263).
I'm also using M$ Office 2008 but I do not use Entourage and have never even started it up. I've seen some suggestions that Office 2008 has some impact.

Month View Disappearing Act

Just recently, when I select month view in the Tiger iCal, the window disappears. I can add new events, but cannot see them unless I'm within the day or week view. Also, when I immediately click day or week, it doesn't fit the frame properly. Does anyone know why this glitch is happening?

When I insert a format extension the design view disappears?

I'm just following one of the tutorial from Lynda.com and found that when I change the format of a variable from a record set something very odd happens ... certainly not what happens in the tutorial.
Okay .. here is what I'm doing ...
I've installed the extension 'PHP Numeric Formats' from the Adobe Exchange and restart DWeaver.
I select the price variable {rsTitles.price} go to Bindings and change the format to the USDollar and as soon as the format is inserted all the images, formatting and text disappears in the design view and is replaced by a number of PHP icons.
Going to Live mode it is displaying ok ... but not being able to see what's going on in the design view is going to limit things somewhat.
All the other formats from the 'PHP Numeric Formats' have the same effect.
I also installed 'PHP Server Formats' (latest version from the programmers website) and the date format works ok .. but doesn't seem to have any currency options.
So first question is: Why is the above problem happening ... Does this happen to anyone else?
2nd question is: May you know of a better extension for currency and numeric formats. that doesn't cause the design view to disappear?

Doh! I've just realised what is happening ... my computer restarted but the WampServer (local.host) was not restarted and was not running at the time of applying the extensions. Once it is up and running all the currencies formats work just fine .... as I said before ... doh!

Design view disappears when I uncheck Restrict Page Occurrence

Dear Adobe Forms Experts,
I have an Adobe print form with two master pages: one mailing address page that should only occur once, as the first page, and then the main page, which can occur many times. I have been asked to make the mailing page conditional, based on the company code of the invoice. I followed a very useful discussion on SCN explaining how to do this with a HIDEPAGE global variable, wrapping all the fields on the page in a subform, and doing some FormCalc scripting for the subform.
I was able to get the page to print as blank when the HIDEPAGE flag was set, but so far I have been unable to get the mailing page to go away altogether.
I noticed that on the mailing page the "Restrict Page Occurrence" checkbox was checked, and the Min count was set to 1. Well, I thought, that could explain it; I'll just uncheck the "Restrict page Occurrence" checkbox, and all will be right with the world!
Wrong! When I uncheck that checkbox, the Design View for my mailing master page disappears, and the mailing page never prints, regardless of the state of my HIDEPAGE global variable! When I recheck the checkbox, the design view reappears, and the mailing page goes back to printing a blank page when my HIDEPAGE flag is set.
What in the world is going on here?! What am I doing wrong?

First off, in case anybody reading this in the future has any doubt, I will confirm that this discussion has morphed into the well-worn discussion on how to conditionally hide a page.

    I am now working on a copy of the original form, so I have the freedom to do whatever I want. First off, thank you for the suggestion of right-clicking on the "data" very-top-level node in the hierarchy view, and selecting "Insert subform". That did the trick for adding the missing design view for my mailing page.
    I am now trying to reduce things to their simplest form, to reduce the number of places I could be going wrong. The mailing master page now contains nothing but a content area (which appears to be required). The design view for my mailing page now contains only two objects: the "D_HIDE_PAGE" flag, (bound to the global field in the interface, where I have put the code to conditionally set the flag), and a subform called "Show_Hide", which is set to "flowed". The flag field is wrapped in the Show_Hide subform. I added the following FormCalc code to the Initialize, form:ready, and layout:ready events of the Show_Hide subform:

endif
    When I do a print preview on the form for an invoice that does not set the flag, I see the label for my flag field on the mailing page. When I do a print preview for an invoice that DOES set the flag, I get a completely blank mailing page--but the blank page is NOT being suppressed!
    Just for grins I also tried adding the same FormCalc code to the same 3 events of the top-level subform of the design view (the one I added by right-clicking on the "data" node in the hierarchy view; I called this subform "MAIL_DESIGN"). Same results as before.
    I believe I've followed all the steps laid out in the many SCN discussions on this topic--but obviously I am still missing something. Any clues where I may have gone wrong?

Design View disappeared in FB 4.5 (not 4.7)

I know that Flash Builder 4.7 does not have a design view. However in Flash Builder 4.5 the option to switch to the Design View is grayed out and the button for design view has disappeared from my interface. I need this design view to follow a specific tutorial although I could probably get away with inspecting the code if I can get my hands on it. I would prefer to have the design view there. That's what I paid for with this version of Flash Builder.

Design view is available up to Flash Builder 4.6, but you can not use a later version of the Flash SDK than 4.6 otherwise design view will not be enabled.

these folders & files is available in workspace folder but not showing in IDT Local Project Window
I tried to find out on internet but I did not get any reference, even uninstalled Business Object & install in my PC, still same problem,

pop-up or F4 help view is visible.
Normally F4 help or pop-up while rendering pop-up will visible .

Character Viewer disappears after it starts loading

Whenever I select Character Viewer or have to input special characters, the Character Viewer starts to load but then disappears. Hiding the viewer still works, but I can't get the viewer stay open. When I switch windows, it flashes again but disappears. What is going on?

Try trashing the .plist in Home/Library/Preferences which has CharPalette in its name. Plus possibly the one with systemuiserver in its name.

Blue HIG guides have disappeared from XCode 4.3.2

The blue HIG Guides are no longer appearing in xcodde 4.3.2 on my MBP [Lion 10.7.4]. They disappeared a while back and its not been an issue until now, writing an app with lots of labels in line!
Have looked through preferemces and view and can't see a. How I switched them off or b. How to switch them back on!

Have updated, still no HIG lines. Honestly can't remember when they disappeared but it was some time ago - this isn't the only computer I use and they're still visible on the other one - it just hit me what a pain it is not having them on this one!
