Strange behaviour of Removal of Alpha for Info object in Quality system as compared to Development system.
Hi,
The data for an info object Key in the DSO was 00000000000000000000000000123. I removed Alpha for the info object and data was corrected to 123 in the DSO in development system.
Now, when i transported the info object without alpha to quality and loaded data into DSO, the data is still the same with leading zeros.
I dont want to write routine to remove leading zeros, as I have values as 0. If i write routine, all zeros will be removed and this will be blank.
Both development and quality have same patches applied and are on same level.
Why is this strange behaviour in quality system...
Any inputs?? please suggest.

You can solve by writing an alpha conversion routine in the transfer rules for that infoobject and then load the data.

Issue in Hierarchy data upload from R/3 for info object Product Hierarchy.

I am trying to upload the hierarchy data from R/3 system for Info Object Product Hierarchy.
Insted of business content info objects (0PRODH, 0PRODH1, 0PRODH2, 0PRODH3, 0PRODH4, 0PRODH5, 0PRODH6), we are using customized objects (ZPRODH, ZPRODH1, ZPRODH2, ZPRODH3, ZPRODH4, ZPRODH5, ZPRODH6).
In transfer rules the mapped is as specified below
Fields => Info Objects.
0ZPRODH1 => ZPRODH1
0ZPRODH2 => ZPRODH2
0ZPRODH3 => ZPRODH3
0ZPRODH4 => ZPRODH4
0ZPRODH5 => ZPRODH5
0ZPRODH6 => ZPRODH6
Now, when I schedule the Info Package, it is ending with an errors
"Node characteristic 0PRODH1 is not entered as hierarchy charactersitic for ZPRODH"
"Node characteristic 0PRODH2 is not entered as hierarchy charactersitic for ZPRODH"
"Node characteristic 0PRODH3 is not entered as hierarchy charactersitic for ZPRODH"
"Node characteristic 0PRODH4 is not entered as hierarchy charactersitic for ZPRODH"
"Node characteristic 0PRODH5 is not entered as hierarchy charactersitic for ZPRODH"

when i tried to load by flat file, there is no issues. But, flat file loading is not allowed for us.
Please let me know any possible solution to handle this issue.

Insted of using the info object 0PRODH1, we should use customized info object ZPRODH1 which I added already in the external characteristic in Hierarchy.

ex: Fiscal Year Variant Info Object having values 'K4' 'Y2' etc in Flat file
Initially default value(not constant) for this info Object value should be 'K4' in Info Package
If I set data selection value for this info object K4 it will retreive records with this selection only? how to handle

suppose as your ex. if you are having fiscalyear variant in the dataselection tab then specify K4 in the from column, again the ficalyearvariant row and click on insert duplicate row at the bottom . you will get another row . In that enter Y2 in the from column. now you can extract K4, y2 values .

Collecting too many objects for info-object catalog.

We are on BI 7.0 and I'm collecting info-object catalog for 0FIAR_CHA01 & 0FIAR_KYF01.
Grouping is set to Only necessary objects.
Collection Mode is set to Collect Automatically
Info area & info-object folders are collected.
There is a Package name shown but no previous transport number listed.
It is not $tmp.
What is this indicating?
No objects are checked in the transport box.
I manually check the folder levels so everything is checked.
I create the transport.
I then go to SE10 and check the transport objects and I see several additional objects in the transport that did not appear in the collector window.
Example:
   Application Components
   LOIO
   PHIO
Why were these added to the transport when they did not show on the collection window?

Hi Dennis ,
The system is by default picking up all object types.Actaully ideally it should pick up the Info Objects from the same Catalog.
In Transport connection after you select and move the Info Object catalog for collection ,When you select Package the System is Proposing all Objects as a part of Select Objects for Changing Package.
Effectively you can click on Change Package Icon and see and for Info Objects you selected only should be present in this selection.
Package ID is R3TR anad Object is IOBJ and the object name , Deselect all objects selected and select only your objects. Then it would work.
This will fix your issue and assign points if it heps

Exception aggregation for info object

Hi all,
I have problem using exception aggregation for info object (zabarb) :
The data :
wbs element      zabarb
        1                    100
        1                    100
In query i want to show the data wbs element: 1; zarbarb:100
But in fact i got in query wbs element 1; zabarb :200
I've tried to change info object exception aggregation : average all value with reference char. wbs_element, but still the result in query is 200.

Mechanism for Info Object Data elements inherit source documentation?

Say I am in ECC. I go to SE11, give table name MARA and then doubleclick on the dataelement 'MATNR'. Then I click on documentation. I get a popup with Short text " Material Number" and Definition "Alphanumeric key uniquely identifying the material'.
I am interested in the latter information that is 'Definition' - & in general whatever documentation comes up for data element in ECC/CRM/SCM/SRM.
Now I log into SAP BI. I find that under characteristic 0Material, the data element is /BI0/oimaterial. When I double-click this datamaterial and press the documentation button, the system says 'No documentation'.
My Questions:
1. IS there a switch we could turn on in source [ECC/SRM/CRm/SRM] so that the data element in SAP BI inherits the original source field data element documentation.
{ I am not too convinced of the argument- that in BI we have info objects in ECC we have fields - since I am talking of data element level information- I would tend to think of this as an oversight of the designers [or de-prioritization] !!}.
2. Could we have an ABAP workaround? That is, in BI we identify the tables that house the mapping between the source and destination data elementsa and take out this information. Then we extract the dataelement documentation [by function DOCU_GET] and use the mapping info above to link SAP BI data element with source data element documentation.
WHY do I want to punish myself as above? My use case is, we take out SAP BI Table, field, metadata etc and create a model in a modeling tool and physical implementation in a 3rd party DW database as our own canonical, application-agnostic corporate datawarehouse. I would want the source data element documentation to flow to this last system as well as the modeling tool.

F4 not working for info object in web analyzer

Hi Everyone,
We have one report, the F4 is working fine for info obect in BEx analyzer but in case of Web analyzer the F4 is getting stuck for the same info object.
Can you please suggest what steps I need to follow to correct it.

Yes, value help for variable.
One of variable info object of query, the variable shows the value help in BEx analyzer but in Web analyzer it does not shows the value help for same info object.
When we press F4 in web analyzer for that info object, the screen is getting stuck for long time and not shows any values against that variable.
Please suggest experts, what actions need to take.

Data missing for info object 0 sales org

Hi,
I have Info object 0sales org in Free characterstics of report and its not Navigation attribute.
When I drill down the 0SALES ORG the data is not coming for this 0SALESORG even if i put this info object in rows also data is not coming and in back end multi provider data is there and in cube level also data there.
How to resolve this error .Please advise me.

I find it hard to believe.
1. If you have data in Infocube, and if you query is based on multiprovider, then the only reason why you cannot see the data is if the characteristic is not mapped between them.
2. Check in the infoobject properties in the query whether it's hidden. I doubt.
When you say "data is not coming", does it means you can't see it for each record even though it's in infocube?

Authorization for info object

i have doubt in authorization. i created authorization object in rrsm, i created roles in pfcg and i need to enter my info object for this authorization, but i am unable to fing my info object in pfcg . how can i get this one. and when i want save my report in roles, can i create roles first and save that report in that role. ple give me clarification

Maintain master mata for Info objects e.g. 9AMATNR

Hi All,
    I am using SCM 5.0 Version.
    When i right Click on Info Objects 9AMATNR & go in to maintain masterdata field,I can see only product code not any description of that product Code.Actually I would like to see both.If i am switching to change mode then only one product code will appear & i have to manually enter the description.But this Process is quite lengthy & I have more that 1000 product.
   So can any suggest how to maintain master data with description,so that i can see the description also in reports
   So kindly suggest solution.

Hi,
Assuming that you have connected to an R/3 system.To maintain the master data for an infoobject, select that infoobject and go to change mode then select master data/texts tab and assign an infoarea to the infoobject. Activate and refresh it.
Once you refresh the entire tree, infoobject starts appearing in the infoprovider. Now create transformation for the infoobject(texts) with datasource "0MATERIAL_TEXT " (i'm assuming that the datasource is active). Create and execute DTP and infopackage.
Material description starts appearing in the maintain master data.
If you want to see the descriptions in the dataview then the above steps are not required, just CIF all the materials, it starts appearing in the dataviews. If you are generating some reports from APO system then it will be helpful.

Did you do the replication of the datasources ?
Goto SourceSystem -> select your BW system -> right click replicate datasources.
Then refresh your object tree, it should show you the datasource.

I want to know how to delete all user created info objects in my laptop.the situation is while practicing SAP in my laptop ...creation of user info objects occured heavily resulting in degrading the system performance.so is there any procedure to delete all info objects(user created)making a system a newly SAP installed one....please help me....

u can try it manually to delete the User defined objects..
or u can use the prg: RSDG_IOBJ_DELETE and in that u can give some selection of objects for the deletion..

Issue in Process Controlled workflow for Shopping cart in Quality system.

Hello All,
I ahve configured a Process controlled workflow in SRM 7.0 with custom resolver, and I am facing an issue taht the Workflow works well in Development but in Quality the approvers are dropped after SC is ordered in Quality system.
The SC Workflow drops the approvers picked up from the Interface method /SAPSRM/IF_EX_WF_RESP_RESOLVERGET_AREA_TO_ITEM_MAP and IF_EX_WF_RESP_RESOLVERGET_APPROVERS_BY_AREA_GUID of BADI /SAPSRM/BD_WF_RESP_RESOLVER. The approvers can be seen in the shopping cart Approval preview Tab until the SC is ordered.
I have compared the OSS notes relevant for Workflow, all of them have been transported, Also I compared and checked general Workflow settings, BRF Config and Process level settings in Dev and Quality, everything is same.
Also while debugging; the approvers can be seen in the decision set table in the create_process_forecast method of class /SAPSRM/CL_WF_PROCESS_MANAGER.
Kindly let me know what else i can check to find the root cause.

From what I'm seeing in from your 2 screenshot, i strongly believe that the problem is even before the Z implementation /SAPSRM/IF_EX_WF_RESP_RESOLVER~GET_APPROVERS_BY_AREA_GUID (in which the FM i ZSRM_GET_USER_FROM_PGRP is called. I think the problem could be in the process level determination ZSRM_WF_BRF_0EXP000_SC_APP100. Let me explain:
In your cases where not buyer is determined, in the approval tab there is not even a process level for buyer approval. If the problem were indeed in the implementation /SAPSRM/IF_EX_WF_RESP_RESOLVER~GET_APPROVERS_BY_AREA_GUID then the process level would be there, but the system will display, instead of the name of the buyer(if the buyer determination fails) a red label with the message: "With the strategy "Buyer determination" an approver could not be determined (or something like that..please check the image at the end of the text)".
I can propose a way to discard this: Implement the method /SAPSRM/IF_EX_WF_RESP_RESOLVER~GET_FALLBACK_AGENTS of class ZCL_BADI_SC_WC (in case you didn't know, in this method you can specify an "default" approver in case that the determination of approver in GET_APPROVERS_BY_AREA_GUID fails). The idea is to specify an default approval and see how it behaves:
If the user you indicated in the method GET_FALLBACK_AGENTS appears as approver, then yes, the problem is arises from implementation GET_APPROVERS_BY_AREA_GUID, in which case it could be a data problem (peharps in pposa_bbp?). You could also check in TX SU53 with the users with this problem to see if there's a missing authorization objetc.
If, in the other hand, the "default" approver is not shown, it means that the process level buyer determination is not even called, so you should check in more detail ZSRM_WF_BRF_0EXP000_SC_APP100 and /SAPSRM/CL_WF_PROCESS_MANAGER > Determine process restart –method ----- (i have never used this method, so i could not tell if it could be the source of the problem).
Also, you could implement the method GET_FALLBACK_AGENTS in this way so the default approver would be the WF administrator indicated in the customizing (or you could just append directly any user you want):
METHOD /SAPSRM/IF_EX_WF_RESP_RESOLVER~GET_FALLBACK_AGENTS.
   DATA: lv_admin_expr TYPE swd_shead-admin_expr,
         lv_admin      TYPE swd_shead-wfi_admin,
         lv_admin_type TYPE sy-input,
         ls_agent      TYPE /sapsrm/s_wf_approver.
   CALL FUNCTION 'SWD_WF_DEFINITION_ADMIN_GET'
     IMPORTING
       default_admin_expr = lv_admin_expr
       default_admin      = lv_admin
       default_admin_type = lv_admin_type.
   ls_agent-approver_id = lv_admin.
   APPEND ls_agent TO rt_agent.
ENDMETHOD.
Error of agent determination:
Please let me know the result of the test with the implementation of method GET_FALLBACK_AGENT. By doing this we could ensure if really the problem is in method GET_APPROVERS_BY_AREA_GUID or before. I just made the test in our system and I'm almost sure that you wont get the default approver, but i could be wrong.
