String value to be displayed in number  format

Hi All,
I am facing one problem when i am displaying a negative number in output.I have a number 123,567,90.89-.They want the sign should be on left-side.I did that shifting the sign to left by passing that value into one string type variable.But when i copied the value into string symbol ',' is ommiting and the value is getting stored as '12356790.89-',But i have to display the value in such a way that sign should be in left-side and it should be in number format.i.e,
-123,567,90.89.
Please give me a solution to resolve this problem..
With Regards,
R.P.Sastry

Hello,
You can try:
G_NUM_TEMP              TYPE P DECIMALS 2
G_S_IMP_MOM             TYPE /GEX/255 --> CHAR of 255
G_NUM_TEMP contains: 123,567,90.89-
WRITE G_NUM_TEMP TO G_S_IMP_MOM LEFT-JUSTIFIED.
"LEFT-JUSTIFIED is for respecting the final - and doing the write correctly.
"NO GROUPING is used to avoid the separation for thousands, so here it is no used.
In G_S_IMP_MOM string you should have the value separated correctly, then do the process to have the - sign at the beginning of the string.
I hope it will help you.

  • Portal Form: Number Format Mask Accepted Values

    Hi, i'm trying to format the way numbers are displayed in our forms, specifically instead of 50,000.00 we want 50,000 - without the .00.
    I cannot find anything on format masks in the portal documentation, and the standard oracle masks I have looked up such as "NNNN" etc don't seem to be supported.
    Trial and error has yielded a mask of : 99,999,999 which does get rid of the decimal, but introduces a problem where if the value is smaller than the mask it is shifted into the middle of the field (leading spaces are being added for every missing unit that is specified in the mask), but obviously if a smaller mask definition is used then larger numbers appear as ###### which is worse than the leading zero problem.
    Where in the documentation can I find the accepted forms of numerical number format masks for use in portal forms?
    Thanks..

    Let me know if you find a solution to this. I even asked my Oracle instructor and she couldn't tell me how to setup a date format mask. This is what she gave me which doesn't work, but I'm not saying I'm the quickest race car at the track. lol
    "Hi,
    Try the following format mask "("099")""-"099"-"0999. They have an example of this on page 7-12. I'm not sure if OTN may have a listing of any Forms format mask. Search under Forms Developer and see if you find anything.

  • Break formatting and number format of SUM value

    Where can I put number formatting functio, which will format breaking sum values...like:

    Next, how to exclude showing reports total at the end of report?
    Is there any working demo to see some hints...

    Hello Damir,
    "Maybe a hint for feature releases to have an option to disable total report sum on column …"There is a relative simple workaround, which will allow you exclude or highlight (style) this total report sum line, as you can see in here - http://htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=22710:10
    In the Report Attribute page, I'm using the Break Formatting section first field "Display this text when printing report sums" - http://i10.tinypic.com/4ie8ck5.png .
    If you want to exclude this line, you should use the same color as your cell background. For the example page, the code is looking like this:
    <div id="FinalSum"><script type="text/javascript">var lastRow=html_CascadeUpTill('FinalSum','TR'); lastRow.style.color='#f7f7e7';</script></div>If, on the other hand, you want to highlight the line, or use any other CSS attribute style available, the code would look something like this:
    <div id="FinalSum1"><script type="text/javascript">var lastRow=html_CascadeUpTill('FinalSum1','TR'); lastRow.style.backgroundColor='#CCCC99';</script>Total Report Sum</div>    Regards,

  • Feature Request - show substitution string values in session state display

    Hi!
    I would like to request that in addition to page and application items and session state values that the value of substitution string values be shown. Another option would be to have a separate link (like session) to display them. This would allow developers to see all of the available substitution values and how they change across pages, etc.
    Thanks!

  • Own number format Y-Axis (value divided by 1000)

    Hello everybody,
    in WebI I have a quite simple chart.
    In Y-Axis I show the values. How can I divide these values divided by 1000?
    I have found the advanced format menu. But don't know the syntax how to make my own number format for this.
    So for Example my value shown now is: 15.900.000 but it should be 15.900,00
    Any workaround is welcome. But I would prefer not to touch the Universe and stay in WebI.
    best regards Harry

    it is a wrong number.

    Pretend you are explaining this to someone who has no idea what you are talking about (because we don't).
    Statements like "but therewas a problem" are next to meaningless because you didn't explain what the problem is.
    You don't give any useful information such as:
    * Version of JDeveloper/ADF
    * What technologies are you using (I guess ADF Faces, but I don't know)?
    * How did you try exporting to Excel?
    * What was the exact problem you had?
    I've already spent more time thinking about how to ask you questions to get to the real problem than you have formulating your question.

  • GP - How to display a long string value

    I'm trying to display a really long string value and then allow the user a couple of result state choices (to either go back and do another search or finish).
    None of the forms (WD, display, etc.) will display a really long string.
    I tried using a loop type decision dialog, but there doesn't appear to be a way of having it pick up a parameter value as the message (or part of the message) to display.
    I can get it to display in the complex type decision dialog, but I don't need the group/options and I can't seem to get rid of the second set of buttons that show up (the long string parameter value was put into the 'Info Texts' area and does display ok).
    Is there any easy way of displaying the complete contents of a long string value and have buttons for results states?  I'd even be happy if I could just display the whole string and use a separate callable object for the choices.
    Thanks,
    Cindy

    I think you should try calling a JAVA or ABAP Webdynpro as the callable object. As you know, we can display long texts in the webdynpro fields. Other alternative is an Adobe form as well.

  • Bug Report: enum metadata containing 'true' and 'false' string values not displaying unless "goosed"

    I have metadata whose value is 'true' but the corresponding enum title is not being displayed. If I set it explicitly to 'true' it will be displayed even though the value is the same as it was.
    Likewise for 'false'.
    I do not have this problem with enums that have any other string values i.e. 'yes' and 'no' function properly, but 'true' and 'false' do not.

    Abe,
    Actually, it doesn't make sense. The first iteration shows
    jdoPostLoad is called just prior to using the fields of Widget and Box.
    After the commit, the instances are not cleared. So far, so good.
    In the second iteration, we see that jdoPreClear is called, but
    jdoPostLoad is not called. Yet the values are there for use during the
    call to Widget.toString() and Box.toString() within the iteration. How
    did that happen?
    On the third iteration, now the value of name is null, but last we
    looked it was available in the second iteration. Other than that, I
    agree that the third iteration looks ok, since it is being cleared and
    loaded prior to use. But in the jdoPreClear, the values should be there
    since the values were used in the previous iteration and are not cleared
    at transaction commit due to retainValues == true.

    I believe the behavior you are seeing to be correct. Section 5.6.1 of
    the
    JDO spec outlines the behavior of persistent-nontransactional instancesused
    with data store transactions. As you can see, persistentnon-transactional
    instances are cleared when they enter a transaction; thus the calls to
    jdoPreClear. When the default fetch group is loaded again (like whenyou
    access the name of the widget) a call to jdoPostLoad is made.
    You are seeing the name of one instance as 'null' in the third iterationof
    your loop because the instance has been cleared in the second iteration,and
    the jdoPreClear method is not modified by the enhancer (see section10.3).
    Make sense?

  • Number formating befor calculation

    Hi,
    I have two values as a out come of my RTF template. One A and another is B.
    Value B is always in 1 or 2 digits like 6, 8, 12, 21 but value A is in 2 decimals and in European number format e.g 23.223,34
    Whenever I am trying to multiply these values the answer is always '0', I think its because of number format of 'A'.
    A = <?TaxableAmount?>
    B = <?taxRate?>
    C= <?xdofx:TO_NUMBER(TaxableAmount/taxRate)?>
    If I remove TO_NUMBER then the 'C' is blank nothing happens.
    Will you please guide me how to handle number formatting? I am new to BI.
    Regards,

    you said that u were trying do multiplication but when in code u have division ??
    <?xdofx:TO_NUMBER(TaxableAmount * taxRate)?>
    What is that format 23.222,34 like this in A. because of that raw format it is not working i think
    if u want to do with format currency TO EUR u can do like below . but check once why A format is like that
    <?format-currency: XML_FIELD;EUR;'true'?>
    Links
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10415_01/doc/bi.1013/e10416/bip_misc_101333.htm
    Parameters
    <?format-currency: raw format; CurrencyCode; display-symbol?>
    raw format Data source must be in a raw format, with no formatting applied (for example: 1000.00 European format 1.000,00 will not work)
    CurrencyCode The ISO three-letter currency code
    display-symbol Boolean in string format, which is either "true" or "false"
    Examples
    <?format-currency: 12345.67890 ; ’EUR’?> 12,345.68
    <?format-currency: 12345.67890 ; ’EUR’; ’true’?> €12,345.68
    <?format-currency: 12345.67890 ; ‘EUR’; ‘false’?> 12,345.68 With display-symbol = 'false'
    <?format-currency: 12345.67890 ; ‘USD’; ‘true’?> $12,345.68 CurrencyCode set to 'USD'

  • Problem with the number format in the graph axis with Report Generation Toolkit.

    Hi!
    I'm trying to use the Report Generation Toolkit to plot some graphs in Excel.
    My first problem is that I don't know how to configure the number format in the Excel Set Graph Font.vi so that my numbers are correctly displayed in the graph's axis. The only given option is general (0,0) but this is not enough for me, my numbers can get really small so I need engineering notation or fraccional format.
    Second: I also insert a table with the graph source data, but the numbers are not correctly displayed either: for example:
    0,75 is shown as:
    0,750000
    but 1,25  is shown as:
    1!250!000
    My guess is I am making to much or wrong string to number conversions or Excel is getting it wrong but I can't find my way...
    Can someone help me with this?
    Thanks,
    Isabel

    Here is my VI, it's just a trial so it can look messy...

  • Number format issue in XML Publisher from OAF (',.' is replaced by 'u n')

    Hi All,
    I am facing a problem in XML Publisher report. In report I need to display some number fields with 'USD' format. In RTF, data type 'Number' and format '###,##0.00' is selected. If I run concurrent program from oracle core forms using System Administrator > Concurrent > Request, I am able to get correct number format.
    Ex : 123456.00 After Number format : 123,456.00
    Also its working fine from XML Publisher Administrator responsibility (using Preview).
    But problem is when I submit the concurrent request through OAF, I am not getting correct data. ',' is replace by 'u' and '.' is replace by 'n'.
    Ex: 123456.00 In Report 123u456n00
    Checked profile value : ICX: Numeric Character and its set to 1,000.00 at site level.
    Do I need to set character set anywhere in OAF before calling concurrent program?
    I tried to use "alter session set nls_numeric_character = ',.';" by calling stored procedure from OAF. But still its not working.
    Please give me solution for this.

  • Can't assign a string value to a member of type TEXT in Calculation Manager

    I can assign a string value to that member of type TEXT using a run-time prompt of type StringToNumber.
    Example: "My Text Member" = {string_rtp};
    However, I need to accompllish the same function without using a run-time prompts.
    I have a planning application and I know that text along with all other non-numeric
    values are stored on the relational side in the planning application schema.
    It seems reasonable to assume that if this can can accomplish
    with a run-time prompt that I could do also do it without a run-time prompt.
    What appears to be lacking is a function like:
    "My Text Member" = @StringToNumber(<String Literal>);
    Clearly, this is already being done "under the covers" for run-time prompts. If
    would appear to be a minor enhancement to expose such a function to developers.
    NOTE: I suppose you would also need to add new syntax/function to identify a string
    literal from say a member name. I'm wondering if this is the more difficult challenge
    from a product perspective????

    When executing a Calculation Manager rule in Planning, the run-time prompt (RTP) is populated by looking up the outline information present in the relational Planning application database. If the RTP is of type TEXT, the strings displayed in the member select are from the from the relational Planning application database too. Subsequently when executing the Rule, the RTP's value is in fact the record ID (a number) which is then saved into the appropriate intersection in Essbase.
    You need to bear in mind, the Rule is executed in Essbase. If Essbase needs to "write" a text, it would then need to connect to the Planning relational database to create a new record. The newly created record ID then needs to be feed back to Essbase, in order to store it in the appropriate intersection.
    What you are suggesting, comes with a big overhead causing Essbase and the rule to slow. Thus, the disadvantages outweighs the advantages.
