I need some solution how to map and store the images in MS-SQL DB using Hibernate,
It will hlpe lot.

  • Can't connect to SQL Database using new login

I can connect to Azure SQL Database using the admin ID created when I set up the Azure account.  Now I want to set up a different login that has only regular read/write privileges.  I have followed the instructions on several web posts, to create
a login at the server level, then create a user at the database level from the login.  When I try to connect, though, the connection fails.  I get an error message, and a GUID that I am supposed to supply to MS tech support, except that all I have
is a standard Azure subscription, which does not include tech support.
Here is what I have done so far:
Logging in to the server with the admin account with SQL Mgmt Studio, I go to the master database on my Azure server, and create the login:
    CREATE LOGIN clouduser@gxw8x04nlb with PASSWORD = 'xoxoxoxo';
This appears to work (password supplied is a "strong" password), or at least it doesn't show any error response.
Then, connecting to the production database in Azure, I set up a user and set permissions as follow:
    CREATE USER clouduser1 FROM LOGIN clouduser@gxw8x04nlb;
    EXEC sp_addrolemember 'db_datareader', 'clouduser1'
    EXEC sp_addrolemember 'db_datawriter', 'clouduser1'
When I attempt to connect to Azure using the new login, however, I get an error message (from SQL Mgmt Studio as well as from MS Access).  I am using the SQL Server Native Client 10.0.
    The message is:
    Connection failed:
    SQLState '28000'
    SQL Server Error 18456
[Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 10.0][SQL Server]Login failed for user 'clouduser'.
    Connection failed:
    SQLState: '01000'
    SQL Server Error: 40608
[Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 10.0][SQL Server]This session has been assigned a tracing ID of
'271851d5-8e94-497c-a332-d9d40682bb7a'.  Provide this tracing ID to customer support when you need assistance.
Is there some missing step I need to do, to permit the login to see the database?  I have looked for such in the various discussions about connection problems, but have not been able to find such a thing.   Or extend more permissions to the new
user? Or specify a default user ID for a given login ?  (as they do not have the same names, in the examples I have seen).  I tried making the user ID the same as the login (w/o the server name), but that didn't seem to help, either.
I have done numerous web searches, and tried about every variation of login or user ID, password, etc. that I can think of, and all of them encounter the same error.  It's got to be something very simple - clearly Azure supports more than one login
per database.  But's that's all I have at the moment.  That login connects just fine, but others won't, using the same PC, middleware, IP address, etc.
Any help would be much appreciated -
    Thanks,
         Doug

    Olaf -
I noticed that, but all of the examples I have seen have Users named slightly differently from the Logins.  I did try logging in with the Login name instead.  No good.  I tried making the Login and the User name the same (clouduser).  Also
    no good - same symptoms.
I think the problem is that the initial creation of the Login needs to be done WITHOUT the server name on the end.
    Logged in to the master DB, I tried:  Create LOGIN clouduser@gxw8x04nlb with PASSWORD = 'xoxoxoxo';
That didn't give me an error message, but I think it created a LOGIN of 'clouduser@gxw8x04nlb'.  When
referenced from the outside world, I would need to specify 'clouduser@gxw8x04nlb@gxw8x04nlb'.
I tried deleting the logins, and then creating the login 'clouduser' in the Master DB.  Then in
the application DB, I created User clouduser from LOGIN clouduser, and then assigned a role.  That seems to work!
In my connection string, File DSN, etc. I still need to supply the login as 'clouduser@gxw8x04nlb'.
But when I am logged in to the server, and working in the Master DB or the application DB, I just refer to the Login as 'clouduser'.
Seems a little more complicated than it really should be, but at least I now have something that works.

  • How can I insert an image(JPG) into a SQL database?

I have written an application to perform some tests in the lab.  After gathering the data I store it into a SQL Server.  I successfully managed to export all my raw numbers and calculations to the DB.  However I have not been able to export a screenshot of the Front panel.  I can write the screenshot to a JPG file just fine.  The problem is putting the image (binary data) into the DB.
So from what work I've managed to do, two questions come to mind:
    1)  Is there a way to compress the screenshot, using standard JPG compression, without actually writing out to a file.  ie:  Just have a binary stream of the compressed image that I can write to the SQL database.
    2)  Even if I don't use compression, I can't write any kind of data that appears as an image.  What kind of data do I need to be writing from LabView to store it properly in an 'image' or 'binary' type field in a SQL database?  I am not looking for answer "binary data."  Nor do I want the answer that is stated in the Help file for the DB Connectivity Toolkit(type - Data Cluster).  What I need is to know what kind of conversions I need to do on the image data that comes out of the FP.GetScaledImage.
I am using LabView 8.0 and have the Database connectivity toolkit.  We are running SQL Server 2000 and 2005.

I also hit this limit.  In the end I just wrote the JPGs to disk, and stored the file path in the DB.  Not the ideal solution, I know.
I'm trying to remember now, exactly what the problem was.  You're right to say the image data type should handle up to 2GB.  I think in the end, it was an issue of the LabView toolkit not playing well with newer versions of SQL Server, which have the image type.  Re-reading the error though, it sounds like it might be an issue with the ODBC driver.  FYI, 8KB used to be the max size for the largest types in SQL Server (I think binary in 2000).  I suspect this limit was coded into the driver or LabView, and can't handle the newer, larger types.
That being said, the LabView DB toolkit was either written poorly or written a long time ago.  It has issues with generating SQL queries that have the proper quotes.  For example, if your column names have spaces in them, the toolkit will be unable to generate a valid query, without some modification of the toolkit *.vi's.  Images in a database is not a new concept and not new to me.  I've never used a language where it was more complicated or difficult to get working.  Unless you absolutely have to, I'd work out a way to just store the JPGs to disk, with the path in the DB.  Spending too much time on this defeats the purpose of using LabView.
If NI decides to update the DB toolkit, then it might be worth giving it a try again.
In case any NI people are reading this, this is a not so subtle hint that you need to update the DB toolkit to support modern DB features.  Especially, if NI is charging $1000 for it.

  • How can I map an image (JPEG) from the SQL database image string

  • Is it possible to load SWF files from an SQL database?

    Hi all, I am very new to flash (I am primarily a C'# developer!) and I have been asked to investigate the possibility of doing the following;
Create an application that allows swf files to be uploaded and stored inside of a SQL database as binary data (Why a database is a long story!)
Allow this binary data to be extracted via a http request to be dynamically loaded inside of a web page.
Now the first part was easy. I have all of my swf's uploaded and stored inside of the database. I have code that can make a request for the binary and write it to the response, so far so good. Now this is where I am stuck.
I thought I could dynamically load the swf binary data by creating a very basic swf that simply contains a movie clip holder and for now a simple loadMovie statement. My idea being that I can could provide a url for the loadMovie statement that returns the swf binary data. This is where I have ground to a halt.
I can see the call being made from the swf, I can see the data being returned but I cannot get it to render. I remember seeing an article some time agao where someone stated that they had used this method with success but I cannot find now. Has anyone ever done anything like? Is it even possible? Am I missing something simple?
I have tried to return both the raw binary data and also used response.write but to no avail. Can anyone help?

You are possibly trying to load AS3 swf into an AS2 Container at least the use of loadMovie() points in that direction. Be sure to use AS3 and target at least Flash 9 in your Loader/Main.swf. Also the AS3 concept of how to load swfs  differs a lot from the old concept.
    Look into the docu:
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/FlashPlatform/reference/actionscript/3/flash/display/Loader.ht ml
But the biggest Problem seems to me -what you mentioned- that Loader needs a (defined) URLRepuest and since your swf files have no "real" URL and you surely don`t want to let the user directly write to your server, a workaround would be to write the BinaryStream with AIR-functionality to a local installlation directory and load it then from there.

  • Generating next number from the SQL database using java

Hi friends, I have a problem and need your help. I am working on a project about submitting claims form through the adobe PDF file and SQL database. I have problem working on a web service (written in java) that will generate the next Invoice Number from the SQL Database table. The field type for the column is text(var char). *Example: I first need to get into the table and search for the last Invoice number in the table and if the last invoice number in the table from the database is 3, i would want to generate the next number which is 4 and filled it up in the PDF file through web service that i am implementing. Can you all provide me some guidelines on how to implement this method in my web service?
Thanks a lot. I need it by today. Hope someone can reply this as soon as possible.

far simpler to use a sequence generator, which most databases support.
Suggested method to get the max value in the column is NOT secure, unless you lock the entire table for update before you do so, which is a severe performance penalty.

  • How to store txt file into Oracle 7 Database using Pro*C

    Hi,
I want to store a txt file into Oracle 7 database table using
Pro*C application. But do not know what type of column to use.
At first glance it appeared to me as LONG can serve the purpose
but later I noticed that I can not do the sequential read/write
in LONG type of column. That is, I have to use chunks of max of
2GB (or file lenght) to read/write into such columns.
I want something simiar to CLOB of Oracle 8.
I would appreciate if you can provide me solution.
    Thanks,
    Anurag

You store images in a BLOB column in the database.
However, inserting image in that column and displaying data/image from that column are 2 very different tasks.
If you are using Oracle forms, displaying is easy. Default block sitting on the table with BLOB column, can be easily mapped to image box (or similar control), which will display that image.
Inserting images will be a different ball game. If your forms are web based (i.e. run from browser) and you want to insert images from client machine, some special arrangements are required.
If images are on database server and you want to insert them in database, the stored procedure given in the earlier thread (posted above) will do the job.

  • How to keep a copy of the image file on memory card when using tethered shooting with a Nikon D800?

I love tethered Shooting but as default (at least for Nikon) Lightroom does only save the file on the computer, not on the memory card.
Now I want to have a backup of the image file on the memory card additionally to downloading it. The tethering software digiCamControl can do this with my camera, so it is technically possible.
So how can I achieve this using Lightroom tethering?

Thanks. FWIW I'm very keen on improving tethering and lobbied Adobe endlessly until they added the overlay for shooting into layouts because it was a major reason why some of my clients were unable to switch to Lightroom from PhaseOne. But we have to be realistic and remember that tethering just isn't a key market for Adobe as it is for PhaseOne, so progress is painfully slow. For example, where is live view or setting exposure which are in PhaseOne? I'd be amazed if we get those features for a few versions, and that's why I point serious tethered shooters to other solutions. And realistically, assuming your understanding of the SDK is correct you shouldn't expect a change until the next full version of Lightroom.  Good if it happens, but I wouldn't bet on it.

    Hello Sir,
I am trying to connect dashboards with Sql database via WSDT, but i have encountered the same problem as described in your SAP community blog (SAP Web Service Design Tool: From web service creation to Xcelsius consumption).
when i tried connecting CR server with WSDT ,it still shows that total number of available licenses is 0.
What can be done to solve this issue.
for your detail reference, we are using CRS NUL version's 60 days Evaluation keys and same with Xcelsius Departmental edition.
I would really appreciate, if you revert back to my mail as soon as possible

Which version of Crystal Reports are you using? The regular ReportDocument SDK probably isn't robust enough to handle this, unless you create a connection using that connection string at design-time which you don't change at runtime. You might be able to add those properties using the in-proc RAS SDK, though. This is available with CRXI R2 as of SP2, and CR2008.
