    Thank you for the replies,
unfortunately it's not the router. I usually switch on/off the router if I'm not at home. Therefore  I have ruled out from the very beginning the router. And I'd rule out an upgrade of  arch's packages as well.  I installed->upgraded all packages  after a fresh installation of arch,  and then I started the configuration...
    ewaller, nice "How to"
    Cheers

  • Oracle 10g2 installation stucks at Oracle Database Configuration Assistant

    Hi,
I was trying to install Oracle 10g2 on a remote server. The linux version is FC5. The installation stoped at Oracle Database Configuration Assistant. How can I fix it?
    Thanks a lot
    Lu

Thanks for the reply. The details are as follows. I was trying to install Oracle Database 10g Release 2(10.2.0.1) on Linux Fedora Core 5. So I downloaded 10201_database_linux32.zip. The cksum was correct. I completely followed the steps in this article: http://www.oracle-base.com/articles/10g/OracleDB10gR2InstallationOnFedora5.php
Everything was fine until it got to Oracle Database Configuration Assistant. It hung indefinitely without moving. The message on the screening was:
Output generated from configuration assistant "Oracle Database Configuration Assistant":
    Command = /u01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1/bin/dbca -progress_only -createDatabase -templateName General_Purpose.dbc -gdbName csci585.usc.edu -sid csci585 -sysPassword 051e421f15d524e2fb763a340793d33c1c594d87e6c0773f71 -systemPassword 05f8ff2a15958d237280c14aa0cfc26a7e23ffc20d70c6e080 -sysmanPassword 0558a50d15b50780caf748645c350d92581789988d719ede4b -dbsnmpPassword 05ca6bea1475cdbb6780d96cc4fb00a6ad0921b9eaf66a01dd -emConfiguration LOCAL -datafileJarLocation /u01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1/assistants/dbca/templates -datafileDestination /u01/app/oracle/oradata/ -responseFile NO_VALUE -characterset WE8ISO8859P1 -obfuscatedPasswords true -sampleSchema false -oratabLocation /u01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1/install/oratab -recoveryAreaDestination NO_VALUE
Actually, at the beginning It stucked at Oracle Net Configuration Assistant. I searched the Internet and found an article saying "If scp and ssh are not in the path /usr/local/bin, then create a symbolic link in /usr/local/bin to the location where scp and ssh are found", I did that and it passed Oracle Net Configuration Assistant, but then stopped at the next step Oracle Database Configuration.
One thing I think is helpful to know is that the server was previously installed with Oracle10g1. It worked for three years as the server for the students doing projects in a database class. But recently the JDBC to spatial database connection had some problem so we decided to install Oracle10g2. We deinstalled the previous Oracle10g1 with OUI but we are not sure if the deinstallation is clean and complete.
Any help will be highly appreciated!

  • TX2Z with Windows 7 stuck on "Preparing fo configure Windows"

    Hi,
New here and have the TX2Z for just 2 weeks.  Boot up the laptop this morning and screen is stuck with this message of "Preparing to configure Windows.  Do not  turn off computer" . I though  tried pressing ctrl + alt + del  but nothing.
Thanks in advance for the help

when opening my laptop it is always stuck on starting windows screem ( the screen with windows logo )
You need to reach the recovery environment.
What are the system recovery options in Windows 7?
When you get there, try a Startup Repair. Sometimes it takes several tries.
If that doesn't work, do a System Restore.
And there are other things to try as well.

  • Load: class oracle.forms.engine.Main not found Stuck at loading Java Applet

    Hi there
I have recently installed App Server 10.1.2.0 on a new machine.
Copied all my forms to an appropriate directory. Set up formsweb.cfg to allow them to run and have attempted to run them.
Unfortunately I get stuck at the Loading Java Applet screen, and in the status bar at the bottom it says :
    load: class oracle.forms.engine.Main not found
I have taken a look at the Java Console, and the 2 things that jump out at me are that it appears to be looking for a forms90 directory, which seems odd since I am using App Server 10.1.2.0.2 and Forms Builder 10.1.2.0.2 meaning it should be looking in a forms directory not forms90 directory shouldnt it ?
And also, it mentions class with no proxy, so on looking around the forums it has been suggested that put the proxy details into jinitiator, which I have done, but this has made no difference either.
Can anyone suggest anything else please ?
    Java Console log follows.

    Hi all,
I've got a class (in my own package dl.app.client which I can run fine through JBuilder.
However, when I run it through the command line, I get the following error (which goes away when I remove the package declaration from the class). Again, this is only from the command line.

    Thanks atmguy.
I figured something like that, and I tried it (java
    dl\client\app\UserMessageTopicClient) but no joy. I'm
a little perplexed as to what's going on.
Me too since you didn't say whether you got the exact same error message or something else. On my Windows 2000 pc, I can not use \ as a substitute of /. I am pretty sure that Java only recognizes . and / as package separators. So, for example, you need a directorly structure c:\myjava\dl\client\app\UserMessageTopicClient.class, cd to c:\myjava, and then the command would bejava dl.client.app.UserMessageTopicClientorjava -classpath c:\myjava dl.client.app.UserMessageTopicClient

  • Mozilla web browser (1.7) stucks on loading java pages in solaris 10

We are having problem to load oracle developer forms on mozilla web browser 1.7 in solaris 10 thin cliens(running solaris 10). Jre version 1.4.2.6 is installed for mozilla. On a few thin clients, it works fine however on opening multiple sessions, it gets stuck with a dull green window left and requires force quit.
Would highly appreciate help regarding this.

I wouldn't say you made a "mistake". It might be a custom build, but Firefox never had a 1.7 version; skipped from 1.5 to 2.0 in release version numbering.
The old Mozilla Application Suite had 1.7 as its' last version produced; ended with 1.7.13 in April 2006. That's why I equate "Mozilla web browser (1.7)" with the old Mozilla Suite and not with Firefox.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mozilla_Application_Suite
Whatever the case, no one should be using a web browser that was produced back in 2006 on the internet in 2014. If that is used completely on an internal intranet, you shouldn't have a problem; beyond finding support for an old version like that.

  • Webdynpro for Java Configurations for GP

    Hi
I am using WD Java to develop applications. Recently, I had to use GP with WD Java. We have not setup JDI out here. To use WD Java in GP, do i need to setup JDI tracks? If yes, please let me know what are all the prerequesites for the same.
What kind of callable objects should I use for these WD Java applications, coz I find plently of WD related callable objects.
    Regards,
    Murali.

Get the GP apis on your local environment from the article in my blog /people/andre.truong/blog/2006/06/26/working-with-the-apis-of-caf-guided-procedures-nwdi-or-local-development
You don't need jdi (now called nwdi) for your prototype. Do local development and deploy directly to NW server.
You want to follow the tutorial on how to implement GP interface for a Webdynpro component from the CAF tutorial center. Then reference it from the GP Design time with the callable object "Webdynpro component with GP interface"

  • How do you switch between 64-bit and 32-bit Java configuration?

I've downloaded the latest Java plug-in for an online service, but when I go to run the service on Safari or Firefox browsers, I get a message that 32-bit Java is needed and my machine is running 64-bit.  How do you switch back and forth?

Similar concern here. No 64 bit version. I purchased the Photoshop CS5 downloadable upgrade. I  have installed the program but only see the 32 bit version. Image  / Mode shows 8, 16 and 32 bit versions and no 64 bit.
Start Programs offers only a single version of Photoshop which based on the splash screen is 32 bits. Did I miss something during the install?

    Hi !
How can I configure it if I'm not on the same Network ( I use UMTS card) ?
Not quite sure what you mean ? It doesn't really matter how you are connected and on what network, as long as you have an ip address and your system/firewall/router permit you to connect to your SAP systems. If you need to use a router then simply change your connection string to eg. conn=/H/router1.host.com/S/3299/H/sapserver.com/S/3200

  • Problem during Java configuration

    Hi
    I have installed JAVA recently
when I type java -version I can find the complete information
and when I type javac -version it says it is not an internal or external command.
when I type echo %path% it gives me the path I have set in the environmental variables.
What is the reason for this error. How can it be rectified?

What is the reason for this error. You installed a JRE but not the JDK. and/or you set the path to a JRE but not a JDK.
How can it be rectified?Set the path to a JDK if one is installed. If not installed - install it

  • GSS stuck in "waiting for configuration data"

One of my clients have 2 GSS 4900 running ver 4.1(1)
I can not get the gss service running properly in the one running gssm-secondary. Gssm service looks like it starts but if I check "gss status" och "show system status" in it is waiting for configuration data
    NTM-GSS-002.nt.se#show system-status
    Cisco GSS - 4.1(1) GSSM - standby [Tue Nov 12 16:10:21 UTC 2013]

Routing component waiting for configuration data (wait a minute). [runmode = 3]

Ping works fine between the the GSS:es and there is no firewall involved (both are located on the same ip subnet).
I did gss stop and then gss start. Waited for 24 hours but the status is the same.
If I run tcpdump on the secondary I can see TCP and UDP traffic between the primary and the secondary though all UDP packets have a bad checksum warning.
I have no idea on how to t-shoot this. Should I do gss disable,  remove this gss from the primary gssm and enable gss again in the  secondary?
    Any takers?

    Hi,
There seems to be some communication problem. You can do the following and see if GSS goes to runmode=5.
    On the standby:
    gss stop
    gss disable
Then, go into the GUI of the GSSM and delete the standby GSS from the
    resources tab
    Then go to standby:
gss enable gssm-standby x.x.x.x (IP of primary )
Then in the GUI of primary GSSM, you will again see the standby in the
resources tab. Click on it, and check on the activate button, then hit
    submit.
Make sure the standby goes to runmode 5 under "gss status" output.
If this doesn't work then you can try the below:
Go to the GUI of the GSSM and delete the standby GSS from the resources tab.
    On the standby:
    gss stop
    restore-factory-defaults
Make sure you have a console connection so you can do the initial config on the Standby
GSS (add IP, etc). Once done, enter standby:
    gss enable gssm-standby x.x.x.x
Then in the GUI of primary GSSM, you will again see the standby in the  resources tab.
Click on it, and check on the activate button, then hit submit. Make sure the standby goes
    to runmode 5.
