Styles Not Mapped Correctly in Output

I am using RoboHelp 8 and I am trying to produce printed documentation from a WebHelp project. I have chosen to use styles from a Microsoft Word template. I have a RoboHelp paragraph style named NumberedProcedure mapped to a Word paragraph style named numbered list. When the document is created the procedures are correctly numbered, but the style is listed as Normal and the formatting is not correct. I have the same problem with bulleted lists - they appear OK, but the wrong Microsoft Word style is selected even though I mapped it correctly in RoboHelp. Is this problem occurring because I am not using list styles? If not, does anyone have a suggestion for correcting the issue?
Thanks!

You cannot map lists in any version of RoboHelp. RoboHelp 9 allows you to map multi-level lists.
Mapping paragraphs that are really lists has always been fraught with problems.

  • [SOLVED] UK keyboard not mapped correctly.

    Hi, all.
    've just done an install and my UK/GB keyboard is not mapped correctly.
    The rest of the xconfig is fine, but whether I use "uk" or "gb", I still get a US mapping.  I have checked to make sure the relevant line isn't hashed out (#).
    When I
    tail /var/log/X.....
    , it does mention something about the US, but any mention of the US is disable (#) in the config.  Could it be that something is automatically loading it for me?
    I should also mention that I have another install of Arch that is sharing the same KVM and this doesn't exhibit the problem.
    Any help appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Chris.

  • Urgent: Custom font style not appearing in PDF output only

    Hi,
    For a customer, I received customer specific font styles(ttf font files) which I installed on my machine and then copied those files in Oracle\BI Publisher\BI Publisher Desktop\Template Builder for Word\fonts as well as in JRE/lib/fonts. Then I created a template in word and font there appears as custom font.
    Now I am getting that font style in all output formats(rtf,ppt,excel) except the PDF output. I am using Oracle BI Publisher desktop alone. Not sure what I missed because of which text font is not changing in PDF version only. I checked the PDF properties and there also custom font is not getting mapped.
    Thanks in advance.

    Here is the link that describes how to set up the font mapping for PDF output: Look for "Font Mappings (for PDF output)"

  • Need help for style not displaying correctly in chm

    I’m using RoboHelp HTML version 8.  RH8 is dropping a style from my stylesheet.  The style appears to be applied correctly when I view a topic (the HTML file) directly with either IE or Firefox browser, and it appears correctly when I view the topic with the “Item View” feature in RH8 (the eyeglasses icon).  However, in the compiled HTML help output from RH, the style is not correct.  The style in question is a class of style (“desc” for descriptions) for a subset of table data. The “desc” class should have the data in the cell left justified, and the cell width should be 50%.  The main parent style for table data (centered text, cell width varies) seems to be applied instead, and the child style for descriptions is not applied.  Below I've included a screen shot of a table page as it looks in Item Viewer, then the same page as it appears in the CHM, and finally the style sheet in its original state before being added to RH.
    Here are things I’ve checked for:
    ·         The project is large, with over 6300 topics and a compiled chm of 5560 KB.  RH crashes when I try to apply style sheets or master pages to multiple topics from the Topic List.  However, I created a much smaller test project with 122 topics and still get the dropped style.
    ·         The style sheets were created outside of RH, and are also used for presenting the same content over the web outside of RH.  The styles display fine in the other context through a browser.  I have not modified the style sheet in RH, but I have opened it in RH.  I’ve also tried deleting and re-copying the style sheet into the project.
    ·         There is another set of styles applying to the tables, for table rows.  There is a “tr” class for the heading and classes for rotating background colors.  These child styles appear correct with no problems.  Every row in a table belongs to a child class of row styles.  In the case of table data styles, most cells require the parent “td” style and only a subclass require the child “desc” style.  It’s the “desc” style that isn’t showing up in the chm.  Is this a clue?
    ·         Multiple style sheets per topic.  Apparently only one style sheet can be used per topic.  In my project, I have two types of topics, called schema pages and table pages, with a style sheet for each.  The same master page is used for both types.  The master page uses the tables style sheet.  Therefore, the tables topics (the ones with the dropped style) use only one style sheet, but it is specified in both the master page and the topic itself.   Is this a problem?
    ·         Reviewing the style sheet in RH.  When I inspect the style sheet through RH’s Project Manager, the table data and table row styles appear under “Other” and not under “Table.”  Is this a clue?
    The special formatting of the description cells in our table-heavy project is essential.  I’ve spend days trying to troubleshoot this problem and would appreciate any help anyone can offer.

    Hi jensei,
    Thanks for that. When I took that screenshot - bizarrely those cells all had exactly the same html. I can't easily prove that now as I have tinkered with that test page quite a lot since. I started thinking maybe I could do something "clever" with table styles to save me the joyless task of manually editing all tables in my project. In the end I gave up and decided to devote a couple of hours to going through and reformatting all tables with a font that was the same size and of a similar type face to the rest of the page. Obviously not an option in your monster project, but it worked for me.
    I've seen so many random results here that I can't get my head around what exactly is going wrong - for me the issue seems connected with style = none in a table.
    Anywhere else on the page, style = none yields text with font = Tahoma 10pt.
    But in the table cells that text sometimes rendered ok in CHM, but often it would randomly appear far larger.
    So for me the cure was to format all tables with font = arial 10pt (rendered result is similar, but somehow different enough to stop the erroneous size rendering).
    That's as far as I got - as usual with time being very precious, I've had to curb my geekiness and crack on.
    Cheers,
    Andy

  • Why are my styles not rendering correctly within differing browsers ?

    Hi - I'm building a site with WordPress and for some crazy reason the css styles I apply to the secondary Nav in the footer do not want to render across browsers. BUT they do render *perfectly* inside DW. I have tested in chrome, IE8, Safari and Firefox 4.0. They refuse to pick up the link a:link => #FFF instead they default to the a:link color given inthe primary Nav. The hover color works fine.  I repreat, inside DW everything is fine.
    I have tried making the footer-nav and the primary-nav highly specific to no avail.  My HTML looks fine, however, obviously WordPress generates additional HTML in building the unorder list for the navigation menu.
    I have spent hours on this with no results - ANY ideas are really welcome !   I privide th relavent  HTML and CSS below:  Thanks Vincej
    HTML:
    <div id="footer">
            <div id="footer_nav">
            <?php wp_nav_menu(array ('menu' => 'Footer Nav'));?>
            </div>
    <!--END FOOTER NAV-->
    CSS:
    #footer{
         width:960px;
         height:auto;
         margin: -20px auto 15px auto;
         background-color:#333;
    #footer_nav {
         padding-top: 10px;
         margin-left:80px;

    #menu-footer-nav li{
         list-style-type: none;
         display: inline;
         padding-right: 50px;

    I have just answered the question myself - it has only taken 4 hours !!
    when you are developing with Worpress and testing yor site in a real browser you MUST CLEAR THE CACHE between each visit to the site. DW does not keep cached data, therefore DW looks correct and real browsers look 'wrong'.

  • Site definitions not mapping correctly in Windows 7

    I'm trying to create site definitions going from Windows 7, both from copying from Windows XP and starting new sites in Windows 7, and am encountering mapping issues in both scenarios.  I can't have the local definition be a root level w/ "/public_html/", although that's where things are mapped remotely.  Can someone tell me why this is occurring?

    5. Select your Scanner's TWAIN driver (not the WIA driver) and Click OK.
    Only the WIA driver shows up for HP LaserJet 3055 Scanner 1.0 (32-32).  Also my CanoScan 8600F 12.1 (32-32)
    6. Now, invoke File > Acquire menu.
    I could not scan legal size paper using this because it isn't offered from the drop-down menu.  I used Acrobat instead.
    7. Does it give the same output. No, it worked this time, but only for black and white scans and not grayscale or color.
    Thanks for the suggestion.  At least I was able to scan legal paper using the auto feeder which was my problem.  Windows 7 does not offer scanning legal size paper and I can't get Microsoft to own up to this problem.

  • Symbols not displayed correctly in output

    Hi,
    I've discovered that the symbol for a micron has been used
    throughout a large help project that I've inherited (Symbol font
    Alt+0109). The problem is that it looks fine within Robohelp, but
    once compiled, it is displayed as an "m". ARGHH!
    I can't search for it, as the Search and replace tool also
    sees it as an "m".
    Is there any way I can either get it to display properly in
    the output?
    Or is there an easy way to search for it so that I can remove
    it, as painstakingly going through each file is going to take for
    ever?
    Thanks for any ideas.

    Hi all
    If you want to discover the codes that can be used for
    certain characters, try this.
    1. Click Start.
    2. Click Run.
    3. Type
    Charmap into the Run Dialog.
    4. Click OK and the Windows Character Map applet runs.
    5. Select the Font to be used.
    6. Locate the character and click the Select button. This
    should reveal the keystroke to be used to produce the character.
    You simply look in the lower right corner of the dialog to see it.
    Here is the bonus. Click the Copy button and the character is
    copied to your Windows clipboard. You may now paste it where you
    need it.
    Cheers... Rick

    I was playing around with defining new text styles and they

    done!!!

    >Home page is not on this...
    Several possibilities spring to mind the first of which is
    you haven't
    defined your site properly or at all
    >previewed in browser everything was in Times
    a link to your stylesheet has an incorrect path
    >realized now newly placed images don't show up in

    they should, defined site again?
    If you have a URL we could see the code?
    If not can you post the code here, otherwise these are all

  • TOC Style not applying correctly

    I have a basic test InDesign document with a 'Paragraph Style A' applied to a few key headers throughout the document. I created a separate 'Paragraph Style B' for the table of contents to represent instances of Paragraph Style A. Style A is set to 8pt font. Style B is set to 14pt font. When I setup the Table of Contents in the dialog box, I have selected Style A to appear as Style B, but when I actually place the TOC, it's still showing up as Style A. Any ideas as to why?
    InDesign CS5 version 7.0
    Windows XP SP3
    Same problem on two different computers (with the same setup as listed above)

    When you say "When I setup the Table of Contents in the dialog box, I have selected Style A to appear as Style B" does that mean that you set "Style B" in the middle section of the dialog box in this format:
    Style: Style A
         Entry Style: Style B
    If you did that, it should work. If it does not, you might try restoring your preferences:

  • Paragraph Styles not working correctly

    Imported a Word Doc. Modified the font type and size. Also modified the indent for each paragraph style (this is a large outline document). Everything changed on screen and in the document. Saved the "Redefine from Selection". The changes however are not saved in paragraph styles. Only the first style changed all parameters. The remaining 6 all retain their original font, size and indent from the original document. Does the list style control this? What am I missing?

    Yes and no difference. Turned on all hidden markers. Does not change a thing. Actually changes entire paragraph to style 2 instead of the defined style 4. Both are incorrect as they do not retain what I changed everything to.

  • Seeded reports with landwide style not printing correctly

    Have are running into a problem where seeded reports with landwide as the style is printing with a blank line between each printed line.  We have tried changing the font from 8 to 7 for the print driver.  But that didn't resolve our issue either.
    We have tried this with both a PASTA and non-PASTA print driver with the same results.
    LANDSCAPE and XML/PDF report are all printing fine.
    This is being done on an upgrade from 11.5.10 to 12.1.3
    Any thoughts on what else to check?

    Can you reproduce the issue if you print the output filea from the OS?
    Did you bounce the CM after changing the font size?

  • Indesign nested style not displaying correctly

    Hello, having a little bug here. when i style something that has a nested style, the styling doesn't continue after multiple lines unless i open and close the document... here is a visual example.
    the first paragraph is displaying correctly, the second is displaying improperly.
    the body colored text (bold cyan) style stops at an "end nested style" character, and the normal paragraph copy style (black) continues after that to the next bullet. but as you can see it won't visually show the new styling until i reopen the document. very weird, correct?
    am i making sense? any ideas?

    Mike,
    I would edit the first nested style to apply through one bullet (copy n paste a bullet here); or better: set up the paragraph style to make bullets and you could instead charcter style the bullet from the Bullets and Numbering part of the dialog box, and leave it out of the nested style section.
    Question: Do you want the blue to cover a set number of lines? Then define a line style, just south of the nested styles part of the dialog box.
    If the trick relies on a End Nested Style character embedded, then you are probably doing that because you want random word count lengths for the blue character style to be applied in different paragraphs. Sounds like work, tho, to me, and I would look for a simpler rhythm, if there is one.

  • Bex Analyzer query results do not match correct RSRT output

    Hi,
    When I run my 7.x query in RSRT the results are correct. However, in Analyzer (7.2) the results are wrong.
    The query has several key figure quantities filtered by customer exit variables, but they're being ignored by Analyzer. Analyzer is simply ignoring all filtering and summing all available data.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
    As your problem is happening in Bex Analyser (Frontend) only and not in RSRT.
    Most probably you will need to uninstall and again install your Frontend .
    Please make sure that you use the latest Frontend Patch.
    This could solve your issue.

  • CSS styles not displaying correctly in browser. CS4

    I've come across a strang problem. When testing my project in a browser the CSS isn't showing at all.  So, as a test, I published one of the DW preset templates (A two clm elastic jobbie) and that CSS doesn't show either.
    Everything is aligned left. Boarders, gutters etc are ignored.
    When I'm viewing it in design view everything looks fine.
    Any ideas?

    Makes no difference at all, Nancy.
    OK. Just to clarify. If the HTML document isn't saved first, you're apt to get a link like this which points to the local hard drive.
    <link href="file:///C|/Site-Name/Styles/Basic.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
    Assuming a Local Site Folder has been properly defined, DW should resolve the link to the proper path when the page is saved.
    <link href="Styles/Basic.css"  rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />

    All this sounds like you are confused about the general nature of MIDI Continuous Controllers (MIDI CC). The MIDI specification allows for 128 different CC's: CC0 to CC127. Some are typically "preallocated" to 'standard functions: CC1= Modulation, CC7=Volume, CC10+Pan, CC11= 'Expression'. Some act as switches such as 'Sustain' CC64.
    frodojon wrote:
    Everything appears to be scaled from -63 to +64 if that's what you mean by scaling?  What do you mean by MIDI CC7?
    Mainstage works with MIDI CC's generally in a number of ways:
    Some standard ones are automatically passed through to all MIDI/Instrument channels unless you specifically block them. Others are not passed through unless you specifically map them to something.
    This mapping can be done basically two ways (with MS 2.2):
    a) Make a Screen Control in Layout mode, and assign it to a particular incoming MIDI CC message. Then, you can map this Screeen Control to a variety of parameters such as the volume of a particular channel strip.
    b) With MS 2.2, you can do the above Assign and Mapping directly, without the need for Screen Controls as an 'intermediary'.
    frodojon wrote:

    Yes.
    It sounds to me like you have an issue where you have several hardware controls on your Keyboard set up to transmit the same MIDI CC. This is probably not a good idea, and it would be much better if you assigned them to transmit different CC messages (CC1 for Modulation and probably CC11 for the Expression (though you may want to set the pedal to some other number instead.
    Once you are transmitting different CC messages, you will be able to Assign and Map much more flexibly:
    for example, you could one to control the overall output volume at Concert Level in MS, whilst the other controls the volume of a specific channel within a Patch.
    Your issue of layered patches is one of "Scaling": one Screen Control (assigned to an incoming MIDI CC message) needs to alter the ranges of different channel strips to different amounts. You can set this up by using multiple mappings for one Control, each set to work over a particular range (for example a goes from -20 to 0 whilst b goes from -30 to -20 etc.).
