Subdivide deployment tool window

Several divisions on campus draw from the pool of licenses in the device license deployment pool.  Is there a way to have sub-divisions with in that pool?  For instance, we would like to have two divisions under the license device deployment pool:  (1)Academic Computing  (2) User Services.  The device names are displayed as IP addresses, when the Academic Computing group needs to deploy a new lab, they have to identify and separate out the licenses for that lab from devices used in departments.

Has it ever worked for you?
The most common reason for troubles like this, is due to an incorrect configuration.xml
Often, this can be due to smart-quotes (angled) instead of plain-quotes (straight) - this happens if you copy/paste from a webpage.
Here's a guide:
http://blogs.technet.com/b/odsupport/archive/2013/06/19/using-the-office-deployment-tool.aspx
For the "download" phase, the configuration.xml doesn't need very much in it at all..
e.g.:
<Configuration>
   <Add OfficeClientEdition="32" >
    <Product ID="O365ProPlusRetail">
     <Language ID="en-us" />
    </Product>
   </Add>
</Configuration>
I'm using this configuration.xml, right now, and it's downloading fine.

    You're going to have a lot of pain unless you upgrade to Windows 2000 or XP.
    In the mean time, set your environment size much larger (google for "Out of
    environment space") and use WinOne from http://www.cia.com.au/luke/ ...
    that's how I scraped by on Windows 98 for a while.

  • Prerequisite Check Failed: Windows Deployment Tools installed

    Hi Configuration Manager community,
    I'm installing SCCM 2012 R2 and keep getting stuck at the "Windows Deployment Tools installed" pre-req.

  • Office Deployment tool not trying to install 32 bit verion where OfficeClientEdition is set to 32

    We used the Office Deployment tool to download the 32 bit version of Office 2013.  Now when we try to deploy the 32 bit version we received an error.  This is on a 64 bit Windows 7 PC.
    Here is the configuration XML file
    <Configuration>
         <Add OfficeClientEdition="32">
         <Product ID="O365ProPlusRetail">
               <Language ID="en-us" />
            </Product>
         </Add>
         <Logging Path="C:\Temp" />
    </Configuration
    Here is the line in the log file that shows the download error.
    FileDownload::Download: Download failed for "C:\Users\swessmi\Desktop\Office_Deployment_Tool\Office\Data\15.0.4615.1002\i641033.cab", try 0. {"SessionID":"47a04060-d70c-4af4-be4d-dc5b1428c60b","GeoID":"244","Ver":"15.0.4619.1000","ErrorCode":"2","ErrorMessage":"ErrorCodeOnly

    The Deployment tool is looking for the i641033.cab file which is the 64 bit version.  We want to install the 32 bit version so we did not download the 64 bit version.
    If I try to install the 64 bit version by changing the OfficeClientEdition="64" the deployment tool installs the 64 bit version fine from the internet as I have not downloaded the 64 bit version.

    Hi,
    As tested, i641033.cab is also part of 32-bits Office installation source. When you have 32-bits Office downloaded, you should see i641033.cab under ...\Office\Data\15.0.4615.1002\ (in your case).
    Looks like the installer was having an issue downloading i641033.cab, try to download the source file again, or manually download i641033.cab, then try again.

  • Error installing 365 Pro Plus from deployment tool

    I have 1 Windows 7 x64 PC which is failing to install from the deployment tool. It is built from the same image as 50-60 other PCs which had no issues installing using the same XML configuration file and network share. The log always shows the same few lines

  • Deployment Tool, for 6.40 SP7

  • Problem in using J2EE server (deploy tool)

    Hi All
    I am in the starting phase of learning J2EE technology. I am facing some problem .
    1. When I start the deployment tool by command "deploytool" , the console appears but it does not have menu "server".
    2. I am not able to specify JNDI names as after selecting the application name, the Inspactor window does not have tabs "JNDI names"
    Please help me out to solve these issues.
    Thanks in advance
    anu

    After you create ?.ear.xml as previously mentioned, you can include it in your enterprise archive as follows:
    cd app\build
    mkdir META-INF
    copy ?.ear.xml META-INF\sun-j2ee-ri.xml
    jar -uf ?.ear META-INF\sun-j2ee-ri.xml
    Then you should be able to deploy your application and run your client successfully.
    You also might want to check out:
    http://groups.msn.com/J2EETools/createdescriptors14.msnw
    for the specific steps on how to create the ?.ear.xml that includes JNDI names.

  • Office Deployment Tool Help

    Alright, further troubleshooting for any other boys and girls that may tune in with this issue.I tweaked my XML file (see updated version).
    The logging is now working (attached error log), and showing Download failed for c:\o365\office\data\15.0.4737.1003\i641033.cabI looked in that folder c:\o365\office, didn't see those cab files!
    I made sure my user account had read/write/modify rights to that c:\o365\office folder that was auto generated/downloaded and it contains cab files I reran the setup.exe /download install.xml, it redownloaded the files, and the cab files are now showing up!I then reran the setup.exe /configure install.xml and the officeclicktorun.exe process is now running in the background, and installing the software.
    It's hard to say if it was a rights issue, or an issue with the download not...

    Hello, trying a basic Office 365 installation using the Office Deployment Tool per https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/JJ219423.aspx
    Attached my XML file
    For testing purposes, current set up under c:\o365
    Ran setup.exe /download c:\o365\configuration.xml and the "Office" folder appeared with the install bits.
    Ran setup.exe /configure c:\o365\configuration.xml and receive error message "Couldn't Install. Check internet connection / hard drive space. Error Code: 30088-1021 (0)"
    Verified Windows Firewall turned off, AV turned off, and plenty of hard drive space.
    Any advice welcome. Thanks!

  • SDM-Deployment tool not available

    Hi,
    i searched the forum for deployment matters but didn't quite find the right topic - so here goes another deployment question.
    I installed SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio
    Version: 2.0.3 and I want to use a remote WAS 6.20 (the J2EE)--> I set up the J2EE Engine according to window->preferences->SAP J2EE Engine (I entered the IP of the remote machine and port 50000)
    somewhere in the helpfiles i also read the "Software Deployment Tool" is also under preferences accessible - hmmmpff - not in mycase. The Point is, I did the calculator tutorial with all the jar ear war files and can't deploy...
    <b>can somebody tell me how i get my stuff in the remote WAS 6.20 and then - when I log on to the remote SAP-System, where I start the application?</b>
    Thanx in advance,
    mk

    Use the <b>Deploy tool</b> that comes on the WAS 6.20 Client CD.
    After that, if you look under Start --> Programs --> SAP J2EE engine 6.20 --> Tools you will find the deploy tool.
    And don't try to use the Netweaver Studio features with WAS 6.20, as a general rule of thumb they won't work as they are designed for the 6.40.
    Cheers,
    Kalle

  • BUG: Deploy tool

    With SuSE Linux 9.2, App Server 8.1 and JDK 1.5, when the deploy tool is initialized it shows the main window and then uses 100% CPU for about 1 minute. During this time, it moves the buttons around as if it weren't sure where to place them. This annoying bug must be related to bad use of the layout manager or bad layout manager implementation in JDK 1.5.

    As if I had seen similar behaviour with KDE and the Star Office installer. I do not use KDE since some time, I admit to prefer the simpler ones like ICEWM.

  • Buggy deploy-tool

    Hi!
    I got a problem with deploy-tool. It doesn't seem to save my changes in my .jar/.ear/.war of some reason. The problem seems to be reoccruing in all my "projects" after I have updated my classes a few times.
    Is this a know bug and is there a work-around. It is really annoying to have to recreate all my .jar/.ear/.war every other day or so.
    I'm using Sun Java System Application Server 8 on Windows XP.
    Thanks in advance
    Roland Carlsson

    Hi Roland,
    There is a known bug related to changes not being saved when working with CMPs and invoking the CMP Database dialog. deploytool has file-lock problems on windows which prevents from saving properly.
    Is there a tmp###.jar that is created in the same directory as your .jar/.ear/war? If so, that means there was a file-lock problem. You .jar/.ear/.war with most recent changes is actually the tmp###.jar. You should be able to rename the tmp###.jar, open in deploytool and see your changes.
    Do you see this problem everytime after you use Update Files? Or only periodically?
    You can also turn on debugging to see if it gives more information in the logfile by adding 'ui.debugMode=true' to deploytool.conf in C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\.deploytool.

  • GA deployment tools for Mac

    We developped an online application in javaFX1.3 and we distributed it as a webstart application for windows, linux and mac 32 bits. Worked Well !
    After the eol announcement of 1.3 we started to migrate our application client to javafx2.1. It works well for windows users using the deployment tools you provide.
    JavaFX2.1 is GA for MAC as we can use the SDK. But we can't invite mac users to test our application by webstart. Do you know when the JRE will be available with deployment features for mac ? Also, we wondered if the JRE will be available for 32 bits ?
    BR,

    Web Start and Java plugin will be supported in JavaFX 2.2 for Mac and Linux, which will be released as part of Java SE 7u6.The roadmap doesn't mention tight integration of JavaFX with the JDK with concurrent Mac OSX/Linux/Windows support until JDK8 in late 2013.
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javafx/overview/roadmap-1446331.html
    Does that mean that you guys are actually a year ahead of schedule on this integration? :-)
    Note that we do not plan to release a 32-bit version of Java SE / JavaFX on Mac OS XI noted that Chrome is only 32bit for Mac (http://jdk7.java.net/macportpreview/releasenote.html).
    Does this mean that a plugin for Chrome on the Mac won't be able to be provided until Chrome release a 64bit version for Mac?

  • Windows Intune support deployment for windows phone (8.1) *.appx files

    Hi
    We are trying to deploy a windows phone 8.1 appx file with intune (over sccm console). the appx file is signed with a valid symantec certificate.
    the installation of the app fails, either when we upload the file as "Required" (so pushing it automatically to the devices) or when we make the app on the company portal app available.
    in the sccm console the deployment status says failed -> unkonwn error.
    when we use .xap file of an windows 8.0 app, it works like a charm and the xap file is signed with the same certificate.
    My question is, is there no support for publishing windows phone 8.1 appx files on Intune? Or what can it be?
    Thanks for any hints

  • Office 2013 deployment tool Invalid product ID error

    Hi,
    Im in the process of virtualizing apps like Office 2013 with App-V.
    Downloading the binaries with the Office Deployment tool and converting to app-v package is very easy, I've followed this kb
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2915745
    But now I want to sequence add-ins for Office 2013. So I need a local install of Office 2013 click to run.
    Im trying to use the command line option setup.exe /configure <path to config.xml> but everytime I try this I receive this error:
    Invalid product ProPlusVolume specified. Error configuring products
    I have tried several different ProductID's like ProPlusVolume and StandardVolume. None of the volume ID's seem to work. When I changed the ID to ProPlusRetail, the setup worked flawless. But I need to install the Volume version for my RDS server...
    I have found other people in the comment section in this blog: http://blogs.technet.com/b/office_resource_kit/archive/2013/12/03/3615124.aspx
    (read the comments in the bottom section) But no solution..?

    It's my understanding that  you don't use the "/configure" parameter when using the "Volume" options.
    Jeremy refers to this in the comments/responses.
    In the main blog article, he refers to "You can now use the Deployment Configuration file to configure...."
    This does not mean that you should use the "/configure" parameter - that is only used for C2R.
