"Submit" action not working in Livecycle Designer 8.0

I have designed an Interactive form in WD ABAP. I have employee data fields to be filled in by the user. I have provided a Submit button on the form and defined an action for the Interactive form UI element OnSubmit event. But when the user clicks "Submit" on the form in Online interactive form, the method defined for the action is not getting triggerred. I am using Livecycle Designer 8.0. There are many categories of elements in this new version and the Submit button element is provided in more than one category. I tried all of them but none of them worked.
Any inputs regarding this will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Sudhir,
May be script is not generating.  Can you find the follwoing piece of code in your Submit button click event:
     ContainerFoundation_JS.SendMessageToContainer(event.target, "submit", "", "", "", "");
Do one thing :
open your form from Tcode: SFP in change mode.  And on top there is an option called Utilities.
Under that select "Insert Webdynpro Script".  Activate your form.

  • Required Fields Not Working in LiveCycle Designer 7.0

    Hi, I'm new to LiveCycle Designer and scripting. I have created a 12 page form with "User Entered - Required" fields on the first 11 pages. My problem is that once information is entered in the required fields on page 1, the form is allowing the user to submit without completing the remaining required fields. I am using the "Email Submit" button at the end of my form. Any help would be appreciated.

    I would like an immediate reaccredit of my account after buying an app that do not work,  iWeb Theme Designs, v1.0, Éditeur : Vitalijus Vysniauskas (4 ).. this app is not compatible with iweb french

    You will not receive direct help with this problem by posting here. Everyone here is just a fellow user, so all you'll get here is advice on how to proceed.
    You can contact Mac App Store Customer Service and ask for a refund, but there is no guarantee you'll get one. Before you ask for a refund, I'd suggest contacting the developer and asking for assistance:
    http://www.iwebthemespark.com/Support.html
    If they tell you there's no solution, that will give you a better case to present to the App Store for justifying a refund.

  • Digital signatures not working for LiveCycle forms in Acrobat Reader

    Hello, when I create a Form in LiveCycle Designer with signature fields, I open the form in Acrobat XI and save the form with extended features (File-->Save As Other-->Extended Features-->Enable Tools), but then when I open the "extended features" form in Acrobat Reader, the signature fields do not work (click the field, but no signature prompt appears).  I do not have this problem when extended features are enabled in Acrobat X.  Why do they not work when they are enabled in Acrobat XI?

    Hi Adam LaClair,
    Please try the steps mentioned below to get the issue fixed.
    1) For Windows :-
    Open Default Programs by clicking the Start button , and then clicking Default Programs.
    Click Associate a file type or protocol with a program.
    Click the file type or protocol that you want the program to act as the default for.
    Click Change program.
    Select Adobe Acrobat for PDF and APPLY.
    2) For MAC
    Click one of the files in the Finder.
    Choose File→Get Info (Command+I).
    In the Info window, click the gray triangle to disclose the Open With pane.
    From the pop-up menu, choose an application Adobe Acrobat
    Click on Change all
    Thanks,

  • Why this acroform script not working in livecycle E2

    I have this script on a acroform and it works great, but when try in live cycle it does not do anything, Can someone think of the reason? Essentially the value in drop down is populated in text filed but want t make a 1d barcode so using barcode font!
    event.value = ""; // clear the field;
    var oField = this.getField("NAME1");
    if(oField != null) {
    // populate if not null;
    // get the value of the field object and add guard bits and LA;
    event.value = "*LA" + oField.value + "*";}

    The various object models for scripting in an XFA form are almost entirely different than they are for an AcroForm, so you generally cannot have interchangeable scripts. I'd suggest you ask in the LiveCycle Designer forum for help.

  • Submit buttons not working....:o( - ANY IDEAS??

    okay i got a form - ApplicantForm.jsp and that has two buttons on it...
    'ACCEPT' and 'REJECT'
    the next page - CurrentStatus.jsp - should be brought up but its just not working!
    whenever a button is pressed a blank screen with just the buttons is being brought up and no changes are being made to the database.
    what needs to happen is that it performs the little calculation - and the updates the value in the database...here's the code
    ApplicantForm.jsp
    (the buttons are declared at the top and the logic at the bottom)

    instead of using a submit input try using two button inputs, names can be the same.
    <input type='button' value='accept' name='aButton' onClick='js_func("accept")'>
    <input type='button' value='reject' name='aButton' onClick='js_func("reject")'>
    write a javascript function and catch the value sent and redirect to a controller (a jsp or a servlet) which would re-route the request to your bean
    function js_function(theValue)
    window.location = "controller.jsp?action=" + theValue
    this is how you can make a button act as a submit button. i guess this is your best bet.

  • Actions and Advanced Actions not working correctly. - Captivate 8

    In our project, we have it set so that after every section the student is asked three quiz questions (they are set on the default quiz slides.) On success, the person jumps to the next question slide. On failure, the person goes to next slide which has two buttons - one that allows them to simply move forward to the next quiz question and one that allows them to go back and review. The "Go back and Review" button takes the person back to the specific content slide that contains the answer to the question they are being asked. This button is set to advanced actions "Jump to Slide ..." and "Show Button..." - The button is a 'Return to Quiz' button to allows the person to find the answer then try the question again.  I know that the buttons on the default quiz slides cannot be programmed to do a specific action, but every time we click 'Submit' it seems fine until we click 'Next' to move ahead, it then routes us back to one of the content slides (Slide 7) instead of the next slide (if wrong), or the next question slide (if right). I have looked at the Advanced Interactions Window and there is nothing linking this slide to anything. I have not had this problem with any of our other modules or sections. I have tried creating new question slides and it did not work. I deleted Slide 7 and it worked fine the first time through the preview, but then when I viewed the preview again, it started jumping back and would not even let me get to the questions. Can anyone help?

    Normally the Next button on a question slide is not needed, because it has the functionality of Skipping the question. It is however needed if you want to allow Review.
    Another explanation is that you did change the normal work flow for a question slide, where a two-step process for submitting will take automatically the user to the next slide.
    Question Question Slides in Captivate - Captivate blog
    What did you do to need the Next button? If the user submits:
    Feedback appears with the indication to press Y or to click on the slide, happens at the pausing point of the Question slide (default is 1.5secs)
    When user presses Y or clicks, the actions Success/Last Attempt are executed if all attempts are exhausted, and you have only 1 attempt on Question level: the actions are by default Continue, but you can change it to 'Go to Next Slide' to shorten the waiting time (or drag the pausing point closer to the end of the slide).
    What did you change?

  • Submit button not working on ipad

    We have an interactive form and a submit button where it posts the copy of the PDf file to the server(URL). It works fine on Desktop; however when I open the file on iPad, and click on the buttons, they do not trigger any event(it does not work).
    Is it a known issue? Any workaround for this?

    Submit form actions don't work with Reader for iOS unless the form was enabled for use with Adobe's FormsCentral service. Other PDF viewers for iOS support the submit form action or the submitForm JavaScript method.

  • Email submit does not work; print button does not work online

    I installed livecycle 8 from cs3 onto a windows 7, 64 bit laptop
    I created a sample form to see how it works  (sample form  http://neelyranch.com/dogbabysittingform.pdf )
    Inside the program the form fills nicely, the print button works to my local printer, but the email submit does nothing
    I saved and uploaded the file as pdf online and tried it from my browser (chrome)
    Neiher print nor email submit buttons work
    I saved it as reader extended via adobe 8 with no change
    So, ??? am I doing wrong here
    Just a quick edit here
    I ran the form in Safari, mozila and ie8
    in all three the print button did work online, but in all three the email submit did not.
    nothing worked in chrome

    Thanks for both of  the responses. If you did select send then I did not receive anything.  I did check chrome plugins and found a message requiring an adobe update for pdf 9.
    I updated the pdf reader which gave me an update to pdf 11
    I revisited the sample form in live cycle and the online print routine now works in chrome and ie8 but the send email does not send
    When I select the send button after completing all of the other fields, I get a message 'preparing to send ...' then a window pops up with nothng in it but a greyed out top heading row, then it disappears and that is it.
    Has to be something between the button and the email pgm that is not connecting (my default is gmail)
    Same result in both chrome and ie8 - zip.
    Suggestions?

  • Actions not working from CS6 to CS5

    I use a series of actions that were created in CS6 and are not that complicated. They resize and align an object to coordinates with the center reference point and proportions constrained. I assumed that they would translate to other coworker’s machines with cs5 and cs5.5, but they do not work. The actions appear to load properly, but do not run like they should.
    When I hit the assigned hotkey, the selected object moves, but not to the correct location and does not change size as it is supposed to. Also, I can try to manually play individual parts of the action (moving to a reference point or resizing to a certain width) and nothing happens. Not even a wiggle. When I do try to do them one at a time, the small downward triangle button that reveals details of the action disappears and when I click again I get an error message that says 'the object "transform panel" is not available.' I assume this means that action is looking for a location that has changed name or something, but I don't know how they work well enough to spot any differences when viewing the action with a text editor.
    All of the computers I tried had win7. Mine is CS6 (v 16.0.2 64-bit), 2 others had CS5 and 5.5.

    I have uploaded them here: http://ge.tt/63PjiIU/v/0
    The actions all have hotkeys assigned to them. I never noticed it in cs6 when I set up the commands, but in the cs5 computer that I was looking at had conflicts with using f5, f6, f7, and f8. Not sure if yours will too.
    The actions are designed for a document with multiple art boards but they will work if you only have one for testing purposes. All the commands are meant for a single object or a single group. Align must be set to art board, proportions constrained, and set the center reference point, but if you don't have them, they still should still function. The art board must be 14" x 11".
    Pressing F5 will align object to a position in the upper left corner of the art board. F6, lower left. F7 and F8 will do the same for the right side. The actions will resize the object to a specific width, height is not important.
    Adding a modifier of ctrl/cmd or shift should give different actions to the ones listed above. You might want to test those out, but honestly if one works, they should all work.
    Let me know if anything is confusing... I made them and they work for me, but I haven’t done any actions in the past and if they are sloppy, let me know.

  • Jspx Submit Button not working

    Hi. I am using Jdeveloper 11.1.2.1. on Windows. I noticed yesterday that may saves were not working. The submit button does not seem to function. so I built a very simple HR schema jspx form to test/debug the issue.
    When I test the application module I am able to make updates to data and add records -- when I press the commit on that, I can immediately see the results in sqlplus, so it is not a database privilege issue.
    However on the jspx form, the page flickers after pressing, validation does seem to work, but nothing saves.
    I created the form as a jspx, then dragged the employee "table" from the data control and made an ADF Form. I included navigation and submit buttons.
    When the form did not save,
    1. I tried dragging execute and placed on the form as a button, but that does not seem to work, create operation does create a new record, but can't save.
    2. I reviewed the source of the jspx page and found that xml for the submit button seems a bit sparse -- no action listener bindings.
    <af:commandButton text="Submit" id="cb7"/>
    3. I re-started weblogic
    4. I deleted out the system11.1.2.1.38.60.81 directory where the weblogic domain is stored.
    5. I logged into the weblogic administration form and couldn't find anything helpful.
    This is such a simple, yet relevant issue. I feel pretty stupid about it. I can't find anything on google, or in the forums. I am new to Jdeveloper, so am wondering if I haven't done something or have some other setting wrong.

    Thank you both for the (very quick) replies. It seems odd with that with all the built-in functionality, the Jdeveloper team would NOT implement this rather essential functionaity.
    Another thing I missed was that in the Data Control there is an "operations" folder (with no commit) as a subset of the Employees app module representation , and a second "operations" folder by itself, that contains the commit and rolllback. I had failed to notice this second Operations folder.
    Thank you again for your help.

  • Signature field and submit button not working

    I recently upgraded to LiveCycle Designer ES2 and am having problems with some functionality.  I created a form with 3 signature fields and a submit button for the final signator to email the form back.  None of the signature fields work; neither does the submit button.  I did everything the same as I had in the previous version of the software.  However, it appears that there have been some changes that I'm unaware of.  I read about locking objects, but got a little confused.  Can someone tell me (in very lay terms) what I need to do to get these functions to work?

    George,
    Then, I guess I don’t know what I’m looking at.   When I look at the document properties, it shows that rights have been granted.  See the screen shot below.
    Would you tell me how I should enable Reader?

  • Dynamic action not working

    Hello All,
    I have created a dynamic action for cascading select list.
    I have a select list(List_1) item and and a tabular form containing a select list(List_2), this tabular form List_2 is dependent on List_1.
    So I have created a dynamic action on change of List_1, this is the code I used
    var l_Return = null;
    var get = new htmldb_Get(null,html_GetElement('pFlowId').value,
                  'APPLICATION_PROCESS=SELECT_DRUG_QUANTITY',0);
    var treat_id = document.getElementById('P533_TREATMENT').value;
    //alert(treat_id);
    get.add('TABU_CASCADING_ITEM',treat_id);
    gReturn = get.get('XML');
    var l_Count1 = gReturn.getElementsByTagName("qntity").length;
    var l_Select = html_GetElement('f30_1');
    l_Select.length = 0;
    for(var i=0;i<l_Count1;i++){
      l_Opt_Xml = gReturn.getElementsByTagName("qntity");
    appendToSelect(l_Select, l_Opt_Xml.getAttribute('value'),
    l_Opt_Xml.firstChild.nodeValue);
    If you can see there is a alert in between, if I enable it cascading list is working but when I comment that alert it is not working.
    As I can see we don't have "Page Item to Submit" for Execute javascript Action.
    Please let me know where I am going wrong.
    Thanks

    Hello Tauceef,
    I am having similar issue.. see following thread.
    Report refresh, Strange behaviour
    The DIRTY work-around I have used is to put some delay using setTimeout function.
    Try to put following code in other JS function and schedule it to run after 30 secs.
    var l_Count1 = gReturn.getElementsByTagName("qntity").length;
    var l_Select = html_GetElement('f30_1');
    l_Select.length = 0;
    for(var i=0;i<l_Count1;i++){
      l_Opt_Xml = gReturn.getElementsByTagName("qntity");
    appendToSelect(l_Select, l_Opt_Xml.getAttribute('value'),
    l_Opt_Xml.firstChild.nodeValue);

  • Cross browser testing : Modifier Keys playback actions not working in chrome and Firefox

    Hi,
    In my work flow I have to select multiple items in list.So I have recorded 'Ctrl+Click' action to select list items.In Chrome and Firefox it is not selecting multiple Items.
    Even Ctrl+A,Ctrl+C,Ctrl+V also not working in chrome and Firefox.Complete modifier keys support is not observed in chrome and Firefox.Let me Know how to automate modifier keys actions in cross browser?
    Regards,
    Nagasree.

    Hi Nagasree,
    Welcome to MSDN forums.
    First,please make sure the Chrome and Firefox is supported by cross browser testing.
    Latest version of Chrome and Firefox supported by cross browser testing are Chrome version 38.0.2125.111 and
    Firefox 33.
    I doubt whether Chrome and Firefox in cross browser testing don’t support automating modifier keys or there is anything wrong on it if you are using supported browser. Since this issue is related to the Extensions tool
    Selenium components for Coded UI Cross Browser Testing, if possible, I suggest you post this
    issue here, click “Q AND A”, and then you could post this issue there, you would get dedicated
    support there.
    Thanks for your understanding.
