Subscription charge appears one year late

About a year ago, I signed up for a subscription. Being so long ago, I can't remember any details. It didn't seem to work because I never saw any minute balance nor even an indicator of an active subscription. Back in May (I think), I saw some strange charges from Skype on my card. They were not in the usual increments of $10 or $25 which is what I usually buy (credit). So I disputed the charge. Skype gets back to my cc company and we can tell that these charges are from the subscription long, long ago. I have no idea if I was ever given any minutes.  I called up Skype Customer Service but the rep said he has no access to my purchase history and that he needs to take control of my PC so he can see my history. We try this but the session never starts. He then simply tells me that my credit card may have been compromised and that I should call my cc company.  So I don't know if I ever got anything for my money. My account shows no active subscriptions. I immediately deleted my payment methods from Skype in case they felt like charging my account again. I let my cc company reinstate the charges because they were authorized by me... but long, lkng ago.  I wish I could get a resolution to this. Needless to say I will never start a Skype subscription again.

    I've been reading the posts from Bob of August 2010 about the "pluggins" affair.
    As ",mniasghjkhacbjkb" told, I am trying to open an indesign file that another designer worked on and i am having problems opening it in CS5 on a Mac as there are several plugin errors.
    The InDesign file seems had been created in CS3 (or it says when I click "command+I" keys" over the file.
    The plug ins required are:
    FormField.InDesignPlugin
    XML.InDesignPlugin
    Generic Page Item.InDesignPlugin
    Text.InDesignPlugin
    Dynamic Documents.InDesignPlugin
    Hyperlinks.InDesignPlugin
    Document Framework.InDesignPlugin
    Graphics.InDesignPlugin
    It doesn't appear as "typically the error you see when trying to open a file saved in a newer version. That looks like the list from attmeting to open a CS5 document in CS4." As Peter Spier suggested. Unless the file had been created in CS6 (does this version exist?)
    I cannot find in the installation disks of my CS5 those plug ins.
    Could you help me? What can I do? Where can I get those plug ins?

    This would indicate to me that the latest version of InDesing that you have installed is Version 5 (AKA CS3) CS5 is version 7, and CS5.5 is version 7.5. Your OS cannot tell you that the file was created in a later version than the last one you installed.

  • One year later, I still have problems with the 975X PUE

    A year ago, I bought the 975X PUE board and turned out to be one of the biggest mistakes I've ever made when purchasing something computer-related.
    To start with, the board didn't recognize the OCZ memory that I had bought, so I had to change it for some gSkill memory.  That, however, involved a trip to Argentina since at the time it was very hard to get DDR2 memory @ 800 Mhz here in Uruguay.  I had also complained about how the temperature monitor was unreliable and problems booting the computer.
    I still have those problems, but I learned to live with it since no major problems arised.  Sure, I'd have to boot three to six times just to get it running, but hey, no big deal.
    Later, I decided to go for RAID1 and surprisingly, it worked so I had no new complaints.
    However, lately something new has been happening.  The computer seems to reboot randomly and without warning.  This had happened before when lightning struck nearby (I blamed it on electro magnetic something) but now it happens all the time and I can't find a solution.  I leave the computer on during the night and in the mornings, I come to find that it has rebooted when I was sleeping.
    Here's what I have:
    MSI 975X PUE (7.1083006)
    INTEL E6600
    GSKILL 4 GB DDR2 800 Mhz RAM
    WD 320 GB 7200 RPM
    2x WD 500 GB 7200 RPM (RAID1)
    NVIDIA 8800 GTS
    Windows Vista 32 bit
    PSU Biswal 780W 30A +12V
    I've looked over the latest firmware thread that used to be a sticky on here and noticed that everything else seems to be beta.  MSI never released something better for this board?  Here's that thread: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=99818.0
    The only thing that I could think of for these random reboots is that maybe the unreliable temperature sensors fool the computer and make it seem like the CPU is a lot hotter than it actually is.  I've fired up Everest and right now, with only Firefox and a couple of IM clients running, CPUs are at 50 and 54 degrees celcius.  Taking into account that the case is open and I'm in an air conditioned room set to 24 degrees celcius and that there's a mini Typhoon on top of the E6600 as well as a couple of fans in the case, these CPU temperatures are nearly impossible.
    What's going on with this?  Can anyone help me out?

    Daiver the biswall brand is a very cheap one, I think you should buy a trusted PSU. In Argentina you can find many brands, like Topower and Power Cooler, that are good PSUs and at a fair price.
    The latest bios for this mother is 7.7, but some users find it not so good as 7.6. I use 7.6 and works perfect.

  • Xbench test one year later = Slower performace??

    so I decided to run xbench on my 2.16 MBP this morning. My score was 92.93 compared to last February where I got a 104.15. Now both times I tried this multiple times, with no other programs running. And, I recently upgraded to 2GB ram, so it doesnt make sense. I looked into the details and it shows my Uncached write and read tests as half of what it used to be, 36 vs 65. So, my question is, is there something wrong with my drive? All the performance specs match except for the drive. I recently brought my MBP into apple store because my disk drive was making loud loading noises, but theys sent me away saying it was normal. I really could use some help on this.

    Drive throughput may change over time for any number of logical reasons, the most likely being that the drive now has more data on it. Putting more RAM in your computer isn't likely to show any change in a benchmark test that only measures how fast the RAM is. That won't change no matter how much memory is installed.
    Perform some basic maintenance and don't obsess over benchmarks.
    Kappy's Personal Suggestions for OS X Maintenance
    For disk repairs use Disk Utility. For situations DU cannot handle the best third-party utilities are: Disk Warrior; DW only fixes problems with the disk directory, but most disk problems are caused by directory corruption; Disk Warrior 4.0 is now Intel Mac compatible. TechTool Pro provides additional repair options including file repair and recovery, system diagnostics, and disk defragmentation. TechTool Pro 4.6.1 is Leopard compatible; Drive Genius is similar to TechTool Pro in terms of the various repair services provided. The current version, 1.5.1, is Intel Mac compatible.
    OS X performs certain maintenance functions that are scheduled to occur on a daily, weekly, or monthly period. The maintenance scripts run in the early AM only if the computer is turned on 24/7 (no sleep.) If this isn't the case, then an excellent solution is to download and install a shareware utility such as Macaroni, JAW PseudoAnacron, or Anacron that will automate the maintenance activity regardless of whether the computer is turned off or asleep.
    OS X automatically defrags files less than 20 MBs in size, so unless you have a disk full of very large files there's little need for defragmenting the hard drive. As for virus protection there are few if any such animals affecting OS X. You can protect the computer easily using the freeware Open Source virus protection software ClamXAV. Personally I would avoid most commercial anti-virus software because of their potential for causing problems.
    I would also recommend downloading the shareware utility TinkerTool System that you can use for periodic maintenance such as removing old logfiles and archives, clearing caches, etc.
    For emergency repairs install the freeware utility Applejack. If you cannot start up in OS X, you may be able to start in single-user mode from which you can run Applejack to do a whole set of repair and maintenance routines from the commandline. Note that presently AppleJack is not compatible with Leopard.
    When you install any new system software or updates be sure to repair the hard drive and permissions beforehand. I also recommend booting into safe mode before doing system software updates.
    Get an external Firewire drive at least equal in size to the internal hard drive and make (and maintain) a bootable clone/backup. You can make a bootable clone using the Restore option of Disk Utility. You can also make and maintain clones with good backup software. My personal recommendations are (order is not significant):
    1. Retrospect Desktop (Commercial - not yet universal binary)
    2. Synchronize! Pro X (Commercial)
    3. Synk (Backup, Standard, or Pro)
    4. Deja Vu (Shareware)
    5. PsynchX 2.1.1 and RsyncX 2.1 (Freeware)
    6. Carbon Copy Cloner (Freeware - 3.0 is a Universal Binary)
    7. SuperDuper! (Commercial)
    8. Data Backup (Commercial)
    The following utilities can also be used for backup, but cannot create bootable clones:
    1. Backup (requires a .Mac account with Apple both to get the software and to use it.)
    2. Toast
    3. Impression
    4. arRSync
    Apple's Backup is a full backup tool capable of also backing up across multiple media such as CD/DVD. However, it cannot create bootable backups. It is primarily an "archiving" utility as are the other two.
    Impression and Toast are disk image based backups, only. Particularly useful if you need to backup to CD/DVD across multiple media.

  • CS6 CC & one year subscription

    Evening All,
    I've been using Illustrator and Photoshop since 1991 along with QuarkXPress. I've had Creative Suite since CS1 right through to CS6. 12 months ago I joined Creative Cloud which is good.
    I've been paying £27 per month for the whole suite. This month the subscription has gone up to £46 per month.
    2 questions.
    1) I only use Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat and InDesign. Is Adobe going to come out with differing subscription models similar to Design Premium or Web Premium so subscribers don't have to pay such a large amount for programs they don't use?
    2) I was not emailed that my new subscription for a one-year commitment has begun.  I am unlikely to be able to afford to keep paying £46 per month so can I cancel at anytime this month or next month?

    I have gone to the link and clicked on 'Cancel this plan'. My new 1-year plan started on 10th May 2013 but the following has come-up saying that I will be billed 50% of the cost... my understanding is that if I cancel before June 10th I will be out of contact and get a full refund?

Recently at the Apple Store in Vancouver an Apple staff reset my computer (erased everything and sent to iCloud to reset the iPad) and I hoped this would fix the problem. IPad Safari still crashes. Short of booking an appointment for taking it for repair to Apple technicians which will cost me money can anyone help me to fix this Safari crashing.

    You might have a 3rd party plugin that isn't compatible with Safari 4.0.4. Go here for help...
    Safari add-ons can cause performance issues or other situations
    If you are using a USB hub, try disconnecting and restarting with just your keyboard and mouse connected.
    From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Empty Cache. When you are done with that...
    from the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Reset Safari. Select the top 5 buttons and click Reset.

    It contains fixes that might help. Then repair disk permissions.
    Quit any open applications/programs. Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.

    In my form I have date/time field DATE with format MM/DD/YYYY. Add I would like when user selected according date in that field, the other field should display date on one year late then user selected in field DATE. I mean. If user install 8/27/2010 on DATE field in other field will display date 8/27/2011.

  • HT4623 iPad Mini - one year old.  Plugged it in to charge and now it will not power on at all.  I have tried different cables to ensure it was not a faulty cable.  What else can I do?

    I have an iPad mini that is exactly one year old.  I plugged it in to charge it.  The next morning it ws completely dead.  I can't get it to come on no matter what I try.  I have tried a different cable to see if my cable was faulty, but  that id not resolve the issue.  No matter what I try, I can not get it to power on.  I cannot get iTunes, nor my computer to recognize it when it is plugged in.
    Has anyone else had this issue?  What can I do?  Any help would be appreciated!

    Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.     I receivedan email with the abovementioned subject.
    I am on a one year subscription.
    I have logged on to my account and checked billing info etc. I can see no reason for the warning as the billing info is unchanged and appears to have been processed without issue previously.
    I am unable to see the status of a payment/invoice, only that the invoice has been issued and can't find an email address or someone in the accounts department to send this through to.
    Can you point me in the right direction?

  • I'm being asked to renew my product when my one year subscription has not expired and won't expire for another 6 months?

    I've got a student version of the creative cloud through my college, which for the life of me, i cannot understand why all my friends never have issues but I always do.
    So I renewed my one year subscription that my college pays for in november. It's april and last week it told me i needed to renew but let me use the products anyway. Today I open it and it says you need to renew. I go to check my dates and that and see if i can get another subscription but adobe tells me I still have a subscription that hasn't expired yet and I can't get a new one until it does. I tried to take the redemption code and use it again but it won't let me because it's already been used.
    It's not my college's problem because they don't deal with anything other than paying the subscription every year, just like a customer. They don't have access to my records or any of that, and therefore can't help me. So what the hell Adobe? Why can't I use my product that hasn't expired?
    I'm using a PC with Windows btw.
