MIRO/ Subsequent Debit problem

I have the following scenario.
A purchase is made for a material for which the taxes include Excise Duties , VAT/CST. Now when we return this item physically , we reverse all taxes , n this is done via sales.
But when we make a subsequent credit , that is debit to vendor , due to quality reasons ( not involving any physical returns) , we reverse the VAT/CST , but NOT Excise.
In MIRO, when i make a subsequent debit to ve ndor ,how can i make a provision such that only VAT?CST is reversed n not Excise ?

I cannot open any PDF documents. I receive one of two error messages:
"There was an error opening this document. This file is already open or in use by another application."
"This file is in use. Enter a new name or close the file that's open in another program."
I do not know how to open the document in another program, so I am perplexed how it could be open in another program.
I tried Repair the Adobe Installation from within Adobe Reader and from the Control Panel (Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features\Uninstall or change a program) using the Change option. I'm assuming they are the same process, although I'm not sure. Neither method worked. I rebooted after each.
I'm at work at a huge federal agency, so we're of course on a network. It takes several days to receive agency IT help, which is why I'm asking here. I can open Word and text documents. Nothing else seems to be amiss on the 'ol pc.

I was not able to open the PDF documents via Notepad.
Interestingly, and perhaps supportive of your hypothesis, I subsequently had problems with Outlook wherein I could not save or close an email I was writing because "you do not have permission." I rebooted my computer and now Outlook works fine (and it save my email, thank goodness), and I can open PDF documents.
Hopefully it will stay this way. If not, I'll be back!

Submitted PDF file renamed on submission.

Hi all,
I've created a form through designer which is used with our Companys IT Helpdesk system. In the form I have used a regular button with a click event to submit the form through either Adobe Reader or Pro.
The filename is Company New Starter Application Form.pdf
The problem i have is that when the form is submitted, for example with Acrobat Pro the filename is changed to
Company New Starter Application Form.pdf - Adobe Acrobat Pro.pdf
This renaming of the file is subsequently causing problems with our helpdesk system where it is stripping out the PDF file likely due to the unconventional renaming of the file.
Below is the script from this click event:

I tried adding event.target.dirty = false; to the beginning of the script which worked as in it prevented the file from being renamed, however it subsequently stripped out all entered onto the form once submitted.
Any help would be great. Am I doing something wrong??

Hi,
you can try to put the code snippet event.target.dirty = false; into another event or a separate function you call before you execute your email script.
I noticed that the the form data won't be submitted if snippet is used within another script, but if it is executed separately before.

WSUS crashes only when the "WSUS Service" is running

Hello,
I am fixing a WSUS server that was neglected for about a year. There was 30000+ approved updates when I got there and every query would timout.
After messing around with it a little I was able to have WSUS query all of the updates. I removed the superseded updates, unneeded language updates, and drivers. I was able to to get the Approved updates down to ~150.
Most of the computers worked fine and receieved all of their updates. 1 computer kept getting error 8024401F. I read that to fix this I could try "wsusutil reset" after I did that I started getting Timeout errors again. After playing with it some
more, I found that if I stop the "WSUS Service" WSUS will query fine without any issues. As soon as I start the service again I get this error:
The WSUS administration console has encountered an unexpected error. This may be a transient error; try restarting the administration console. If this error persists, <o:p></o:p>
Try removing the persisted preferences for the console by deleting the wsus file under %appdata%\Microsoft\MMC\.

I'm not sure where you read this, but it makes no logical sense at all to me. If only ONE computer is throwing an error, and many others (if not all) are working fine, the problem is almost certainly at THAT CLIENT, not on the SERVER!
As for your subsequent WSUS problems after launching the reset, it may take several days for the WSUSUTIL RESET to complete its reconciliation, so your behaviors after launching the reset are actually not unexpected. Especially since we know your server
has at least 30,000 updates synchronized.

any of several things could be causing an HTTP 500 error, but we really need to know IN CONTEXT where the error code is generated in order to identify an appropriate approach to resolution. One thing I'm pretty certain of... a WSUSUTIL RESET isn't the fix.
I see that you did ultimately resolve the issue by deleting the updates from the database using the PowerShell script. It's quite possible that the large number of updates was contributing to a single client's HTTP 500 error, depending on what the state
of that client actually was at the time the error was encountered.

Firewire 800 and Iomega 2Tb External Drive

I started using an Iomega 2Tb as Time Machine just over one year ago.
Initially it connected to my iMac 27" and worked perfectly with a Firewire 800 cable.
After a couple of months it suddenly stopped working and was not recognised in Finder or Disc Utility. I contacted Iomega and they suggested I try a new cable. I did and it did not make any difference. I have no other Firewire devices to test if the problem is with the Iomega or my iMac.
I switched to USB and that worked perfectly for a while. I have subsequently had problems with the Iomega "unmounting" itself, with a Journal Error comment when I run Verify in Disc Utility.
I have reformatted and remounted the Iomega twice but it has unmounted itself again.
I rotate three external drives as Time Machine back ups. The other drives are USB Freecom and Seagate 1Tb drives. They continue to work perfectly.
Because the Iomega has also given problems when connected by USB, I suspect it is the cause of the problem.
I would hope that we have reached the stage in home computing when we can buy a device, plug it in and it works, without having to waste time problem solving.
Can any one suggest anything else I can check?

Thanks Nick. The Iomega is the only external drive with which I have experienced any problems so I guess I wasted my money and will need to try another brand.

JVM 1.5 hang at system.exit(): how to debug ?

Our Java application seems to sometimes hang indefinitely at System.exit().
So far, we have observed that:
- the hang does not happen when running JDK 1.4, but only with JDK 1.5 (we are trying to migrate to JDK 1.5.0_06)
- it seems that if we comment out code that calls PrinterJob.print(), the hang does not happen
- the hang can be observed on all our machines (different models), except one that is misteriously not impacted. OS is WinXP SP2.
- when our software has sent a printer job to the printer and is running JDK 1.5, the problem can be reproduced after at most 4 or 5 tries, usually 1 or 2 runs being sufficient.
- we have not been able to narrow the problem to a simple testcase (only reproduced using automated testcases on our application, which is 200.000+ LOC....)
- when the JVM is stuck in System.exit, the process can be killed using the task explorer with the usual "program does not respond" and subsequent "send problem report" wizard after having killed it. (not to sure on exact wording in english...).
We suspect a hard-to-hit regression or behavior change in JDK1.5 (there's no reason a java application could hang at System.exit(), right ?), but the above information is certainly far from being sufficient to open a bug report.
So, any help to help us further identify the problem would be appreciated.
More precisely, is there any way to try to understand the problem using a crash dump, or something like this ?

I doubt that it hangs at System.exit(). Use jConsole (comes with your JDK) to connect to your application and inspect all running Threads which block at what exception stack trace.

Cancelling reinstallation of OS on MacBook - does it any harm?

Hi! Kind of stupid question this one here, but cant get it out of my head, so I´ll just go ahead and ask you guys. I got the idea that I wanted to change my home folder name (which also is kind of stupid, since it got nothing to say what name it has), and figured that the only way to do that was by reinstalling the OS. However when I got through the first steps and it started downloading Mountain Lion from the internet, I thought to my self - this is stupid and a waste of time - so I cancelled the download. By then the bar showed maybe 1/3 or 1/4, which makes the question - and I figure it doesnt since that would be kind of stupid (third time I´ve said it now - I know) - could this do any harm to my existing OS or other components on my MacBook?

When you have kernel panics, the pertinent information is in the panic report.
These instructions must be carried out as an administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
In the Console window, select
DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION ▹ System Diagnostic Reports
(not Diagnostic and Usage Messages) from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select

Problem when defining correlation with subsequent Async Receive Step.

Hi, all:
We have defined a BMP process, like below:
Receive (Start Process) --> Sync Send --> Sync Send --- Async Send
Now we need to have additional steps added into the process: Async Receive.
Now we have problem defining the correlation:
   Since this Async step is not the start of the process, we have to use correlation, if we leave it blank, a red question mark stays, and we can not active BPM.
   When we define the correlation, we just expect one message type to be received from a Async system.
   In the correlation condition editor window, we would like to choose "Interface Variable" and assign value to the container element that reference the asbtract interface.
   however, when we selection optiontb "Interface Variable", there is value "interface" already fill up, we can not select container element from the elements list.
Any one has such experience ?

I think you are facing problem with corrrelation. Follow this procedure to define correlation : -
1. Switch from Container window to Correlation List, here define a correlation variable.
2. Now switch from Graphical Editor to Correlation Editor.
3. There in Correlation Name choose your Correlation variable.
4. In the Correlation Container define a variable.
5. In Involved Message window choose your message interfaces that are used to correlate. Here you should have message interface of your second receive step with another message interface.
6. Now in correlation editor's Properties window assign field of your involved message interface to the variable that you have defined in 4th step.
7. Now switch to Graphical Editor of you BPM. And Activate your correlation in First receive step and Use Correlation it in subsequent receive step.
This is the whole procedure to define a correlation and use it.

I'm sorry to hear your conversion process has stalled. It sounds as though the problem isn't specific to one file, as you've been unable to convert anything since the first four chapters converted successfully.
So, let's try this:
If you're converting via the ExportPDF website, please log out, clear the browser cache, and then log back in. If you're using Reader, please choose Help > Check for Updates to make sure that you have the most current version installed.

I had a major problem with my PC yesterday, and subsequently had to reload Mozilla Foxfire. When reloaded, it opened with "Welcome to AOL - Mozilla Foxfire". I don't want AOL associated or tagged with Foxfire. I went in to "Programs and Files" and deleted everything with AOL, including Quicktime. Tried loading Foxfire again, but it still opened with AOL tagged. I do use AOL for emails and some browsing, but I want to use Foxfire soley for browsing and search engine. And yes, I did also reload AOL. Can't seem to figure out why AOL is tagging onto Foxfire. Hopefully I have not lost all of my Foxfire Bookmarks - that would really suck.

Have since upgraded the e-mail address in account manger, but it still locks me out and rejects my user name and password when I try to log in. It seems it established an account for me automatically when I first fired the beast up, but now the Macmail program is uncooperative with me. Any assistance would be much appreciated, Thanks

Sounds like some needed System Fonts wre replaced by bad ones. Y also have Font Book in Applications for validating fonts & checking for duplicates.
Required Fonts from 10.3, much the same in 10.4...

then intall the Fonts what you need from your Install Disk.
Or do a relatively painless Archive & Install, which gives you a new/old OS, but can preserve all your files, pics, music, settings, etc., as long as you have plenty of free disk space and no Disk corruption, and is relatively quick & painless...

Problem in Partial delivery BOM - items not copied in subsequent delivery

Hi,
We are using BOM in Sales order and we have activated delivery group for the BOM header item category.
When we create first delivery we change the BOM header item quantity in delivey ( all the components quantity change accordingly) and save the delivery.
Now when we try to create second delivery with reference to the same delivery for the left out qunatity in sales order, system is not copying the components of BOM items ( it is only copying BOM header) from sales order to delivery.
Please let us know how can we create subsequent delivery with reference to the same sales order and delivery should get all the BOM items from SO to delivery.

Hi,
We already set the delivery group to A, and still having the same result. We change the BOM header quantity only and automatically the component quantity is updated.
This happens only if there are two header BOM in the Sales Order. See example below:
Bom Header 1 = 100
Bom Component 1a - 80 (partial delivered)
Bom Component 1b - 20 (partial delivered)
Bom Header 2 = 200
Bom Component 2a - 150
Bom Component 2b - 50
When creating outbound delivery, initially all the materials are copied to the outbound document. If we want to delivery only Bom Header 2, then we will delete the Bom Header 1 line item.
Upon deletion, the status of the component becomes fully delivered in the SO, but the Bom header is still partial delivered.
Please confirm how to correct this.
**If there is only one BOM Item in the order, then partial delivery is ok..
