Subsequent delivery and subsequent debit

Dear All,
material type: NLAG
account assignemnt (PO): cost center, non valuated GR
Scenario:
1. GR (MIGO) - material_document1, qty 100
2. IR (MIRO) - invoice1 for material_document1, qty 100
> vendor makes correction because qty is more or less than the original
3. GR (MIGO) - material document2 - qty 20 (sum qty for PO item is 120)
4. IR (MIRO) - subsequent_debit1 for 20 pcs
These connections / links should exist:
Material_document1 - invoice1
Material_docuemt2 - subsequent_debit1
My question
How can I solve this? Is it posible to book the subsequent debit with reference to material_docuement2?
If I create the subsequent invoice it is valid only for material_document1 EVEN IF I do material_document2 as SUBSEQUENT DELIVERY in MIGO (in this case the two material documents are connected). SAP expects an additional invoice for material_document2 (but it is linked to material_docuement1!).
In my opinion it cannot be solved since the debit/credit memo refers to the "original" material document (1) and invoice (1).
Thanks,
Csaba
My question was a little bit incoherent...
I wanted SAP to suggest the to-be-credited qty&value automatically in case of returns to vendor - but it's not possible in standard system as per my best knowledge .

Hi Bala krishnan,
when there is a price difference this entry would takes place. while reversing the same should be reversed, in your case the system is posting to another account.
please check the account key against the wrong line item ( this you can see with the help of changing layout), then goto OBYC and check the gl accounts assigned against that. To check either it is right or wrong compare with the standard/default company codes settings i.e 0001 co.cd.

  • Return Delivery and Subsequent Delivery part 2 updating

    Hi Experts
I made GR for PO by capturing Excises as it is defective I have returned the stock to vendor in MIGO using Return Delivery against Material Document number, at this stage part 2 is deducing the G/L account of BED, ECS and SHCess and adding with G/L account of CENVAT Suspense account. Fine it is as I expected.
But the problem is, when I making subsequent delivery for the item instead of deducing with G/L account of CENVAT Suspense account and adding the G/L account of BED, ECS and SHCess IT IS DOING REVERSELY THAT IS AGAIN IT IS deducing the G/L account of BED, ECS and SHCess and adding with G/L account of CENVAT Suspense account.
Kindly where I've make the changes for it to capture correctly.

  • Miro debit/credit note and subsequent debit/credit

    Dear all,
May I know under what circumstances we use debit/credit note and
under what circumstances we use subsequent debit/credit
    Need advice.
    Thanks

    Hi,
A subsequent debit/credit arises if a transaction has already been settled, and a further invoice or credit memo is received afterwards.
A subsequent debit/credit changes the total invoice value of a purchase order item; the total invoice quantity remains unchanged. Therefore, only a value-based update of the purchasing transaction takes place. There is no quantity-based
    update.
    1. Subsequent Debit :-You must enter an invoice as a subsequent debit if a purchase order item has already been invoiced and further costs are now incurred. (Example: A vendor has inadvertently invoiced you at too low a price and then sends a
    second invoice for the difference.)
    2. Subsequent Credit :- You must enter a credit memo as a subsequent credit if a purchase order item was invoiced at too high a price and you have now received a credit memo. (Example: A vendor has inadvertently invoiced you at too high a price and then sends a credit memo for the difference.)
If you enter a subsequent debit/credit, the system suggests the entire invoiced quantity, but no value. The maximum quantity that you can subsequently debit or credit is the quantity that has already been invoiced. You can only enter a subsequent debit/credit for a purchase order item if an invoice has already been posted for this item.
A subsequent debit/credit cannot refer to a particular invoice.
Subsequent debits and credits are listed separately in the PO history.
    3. Credit Memo :- You usually receive a credit memo from a vendor if you were overcharged. As is the case for invoices, credit memos refer to purchase orders or goods receipts.
You post a credit memo if too large an amount has been invoiced. When you post the credit memo, the total invoiced quantity in the PO history is reduced by the credit memo quantity. The maximum quantity you can make a credit for is the quantity that has already been invoiced.
In the same way as the corresponding goods receipt is expected or posted for the invoice, in the case of a credit memo, the system assumes that the credit memo belongs to a return delivery or reversal of the goods receipt. This means that the credit memo is settled using the GR/IR clearing account.

    Hello,
    Subsequent Debit and Credits
After an Invoice is successfully posted and the transaction is completed, Vendor approaches with additional amount invoice or correction in Invoice. You would like to post this additional invoice with reference to the original PO and item. Subsequent Debit / Credit functionality allows you to capture this difference without canceling original invoice.

    hi all,
What is Subsequent Delivery Free of Charge  and Free of Charge?
and Can i get some material on this topics........

    Hi there,
Free of charge is when you send the free samples to customers. FD is the order type.
Some times customer may return goods coz of damge or of poor quality. In that case, he returns the goods & requests substitution. In that case we create subsequent free of charge order type SD.

  • Vandor crdit memo, subsequent debit memo and subsequent crdit memo

    Hi,
what is the difference between subsequent debit, credit and credit memo in MIRO transaction.
In case of vendor had given us credit note with relevant to particular for which we had already completed the invoice verification and payment also paid.
in this case what document should i use i.e crdit memo, subsequent credit memo or subsequent debit memo??
    plz suggest

    Hi,
Difference between Credit memo and subsequent debits/credits
Subsequent Debits/Credits are used in cases where the quantity is in the original invoice is to remain the same.
    Example:
    PO 10 - $10
    GR 10 - $10
    LIV 10 - $11 (Logistics Invoice Verification)
The vendor invoice is more than that in the Purchase Order.
In order to correct, the Vendor may send in another invoice for the Increased amount
or a credit memo for the reduce amount.
If you approve of the price increase,
post the subsequent invoice received as a Subsequent Debit Invoice.
If it is a credit memo that has been received for reducing $1 of invoice price,
then post the credit memo as Subsequent Credit.
This would retain the quantity but reduce the amount.
Subsequent Debit/Credit is for the case when the credit is not for the full amount
eg. if the Vendor decided to credit & only the $1 overcharged.
Credit memo is for the credit of the full amount and value.
    Thanks

  • Subsequent debit, subsequent credit and credit memo?

    Dear Gurus,
Kindly explain subsequent debit, subsequent credit and credit memo with one simple example..pls..
    Thanks..

    Hi,
Subsequent Debits/Credits are used in cases where the quantity is in the original invoice is to remain the same. For eg.
    PO 10 - $10
    Gr 10 - $10
    LIV 10 - $11 (Logistics Invoice Verification)
The vendor invoice is more than that in the Purchase Order. In order to correct, the Vendor may send in another invoice for
the Increased amount or a credit memo for the increased amount.
If you approve of the price increase, post the subsequent invoice received as a Subsequent Debit/Credit Invoice.
If it is a credit memo that has been received, then post the credit memo as Subsequent Debit/Credit.
This would retain the quantity but reduce the amount.
Subsequent Debit/Credit is for the case when the credit is not for the full amount eg. if the Vendor decided to credit
    only the $1 overcharged.
Credit memo is for the credit of the full amount and value.
Credit Memo u2013 A credit memo is received from a vendor if you were overcharged on a previous invoice. It is processed as a reversal of a previous invoice on a quantity and value basis referencing a Purchase Order. In the same way the system assumes a corresponding goods receipt was posted for the original invoice, the system assumes a credit memo is linked to the reversal of a goods receipt. You must change the transaction from Invoice to Credit memo.
Subsequent Credit u2013 You receive a credit memo from a vendor decreasing the total invoiced value on a previous invoice, not the total invoiced quantity. You must change the transaction from Invoice to Subsequent credit.  It is a reduction of value but not quantity by the amount of the credit memo.
Subsequent Debit u2013 You receive an additional invoice from a vendor because you were undercharged, increasing the total invoiced value, not the total invoiced quantity. You must change the transaction from Invoice to Subsequent debit. It is processed as an increase in value but not the quantity by the amount of the additional invoice.
    Hope it helps,
    Swapnil

  • Pls. give some suggestion on Subsequent Credit and debit note?

    Dear Gurus,
Pls. give some suggestion on Subsequent Credit and debit note?
    Regrds
    Shikha

    Hi Sikha
We generaly use subsequent debit / credit to adjust invoice value without affecting Qty
Pls check notes supplied by SAP
A subsequent debit/credit arises if a transaction has already been settled, and a further invoice or credit memo is received afterwards.
A subsequent debit/credit changes the total invoice value of a purchase order item; the total invoice quantity remains unchanged. Therefore, only a value-based update of the purchasing transaction takes place. There is no quantity-based update.
You must enter an invoice as a subsequent debit if a purchase order item has already been invoiced and further costs are incurred. (Example: A vendor has inadvertently invoiced you at too low a price and then sends a second invoice for the difference.)
You must enter a credit memo as a subsequent credit if a purchase order item was invoiced at too high a price and now you have received a credit memo.
You can only enter a subsequent debit/credit for a purchase order item if an invoice has already been posted for that item.
A subsequent debit/credit cannot refer to a particular invoice.
Subsequent debits and credits are listed separately in the PO history
    Typical example is like
suppose vendor has overcharged u for perticular PO and afterward he want to correct it
In such scenario u can post subsequent debit to correct PO without affecting Qty. field

  • Credit memo, subsequent debit and subsequent credit

    Hi,
We have recently started using credit memo, subsequent debit and subsequent credit in SAP.
However, when ever  user is taking print of this documents system is still showing as invoice verification note only
We want to differentiate this documents with other document types. could u plz explain me the config settings for this doc types provided by standard SAP.

Transaction OBA7, define document types which you require. Then, SPRO -> AR/AP -> Business transactions -> Outgoing invoices, credit memos -> Outgoing Invoices/Credit Memos - Enjoy -> Define Document Types for Enjoy Transactions. There you can define that new document types are default for process you want

  • Returns and subsequent FOC delivery

    Hi All
I hav a scenario where i will be creating Return order and subsequent PGR
now the company decides to replace the material for the return quantity
    the process will be
Return Order(RE)>>Delivery(LR)>>Free of charge delivery(FD)>> PGI
when i complete the process, the return order status will be BEING PROCESSED
Please suggest any settings to to make status complete
    regards

    Hi,
The process will be as follows:
    1. Create a return sales order with reference to the original invoice.
    2. Create the returns delivery with reference to the return sales order.
    3. Do the post goods receipt (PGR) for the return delivery.
After this your company does not want to issue credit memo to the customer but instead wants to issue a replacement for the returned goods. So in this case because the credit memo is not created, the system will alweays keep the status of the return order as in process.
    Solution:
    1. Create a subsequent free of charge delivery order. In transaction code VA01 create a new sales order with order type as "KN" with reference to the return sales order.
    2. Create the delivery for the above order.
    3. Do the post goods issue (PGI) for the above delivery.
Here no invoice will be generated as it is a replacement only & the order will have no value.
At this stage be sure, however, that the sales document you are using as a reference (return sales order), is no longer valid due to this new free-of-charge delivery sales order, has its line items rejected. Should they not be rejected, it is possible that the return can accidentally create a credit memo.
So you need to assign a reson for rejection to the return sales order item for:
    1. Closing the return sales order. The status will now be chnaged to Complete. As you are not going to give credit for the return, you need to close the return sales order otherwise, it may allow creating the credit memo.
    Hope this clarifies your doubt.
    With best regards,
    Allabaqsh G. Patil.

  • Difference between subsequent adjustment and return delivery ...?

    Dear all ,
Provide difference between subsequent adjustment and return delivery ...?
    sri....

    Hi,
Subsequent delivery means you have to reverse the goods receipts after
entering corresponding invoice and you want to post another goods receipt
than use subsequent delivery in MIGO with reference to old goods receipt
    number.
Subsequent adjustment means updating the price difference in the quantity
    already supplied.
Ex: Original invoice price is 100 for quantity of
10 nou2019s, i.e., Invoice amount is 1000 after doing MIRO for amount
1000 you get another supplementary Invoice for amount
100 towards price revision. In this case  you have to adjust through subsequent
    adjustment.
If your question was on posting logic for alternative posting of exchange rate differences. then,
    Subsequent adjustment*
When you make a subsequent adjustment, the system posts all values with the exchange rate at the time of the goods receipt.
    Return Delivery
If there is a return delivery, the posting date is based on the time of the goods receipts. The system converts the stock value using the average exchange rate with reference to the purchase order.
    Regards,
    Sadiq.

  • Free-of-charge subsequent delivery

    Hi experts,
"If the customer is to receive replacement goods, do not create a credit memo. You can enter a reason for rejection for the appropriate items in the return. You then create a free of charge subsequent delivery with reference to the return in order to send the replacement goods to the customer. "
    (It comes from SAP help
    http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_03/helpdata/EN/70/a7853478616434e10000009b38f83b/frameset.htm).
Got some questions about the above. Pls help to solve. Thx.
Q1: Does the process match SAP statement above, sales order -> outbound delivery -> invoice -> return order (to be rejected after PGR for return delivery) - return delivery (PGR) - free of charge subsequent delivery (to be created with reference to return order) - delivery (no invoce to be created)?
Q2: If the process is correct, how can the financial balance the value of returned goods, sales cost? Is it through the replacement goods? In my previous understanding, it's the must to create credit memo because return delivery has PGR.
Q3: What order type is used for free of charge subsequent delivery? It seems SAP help mentions FD while some one mentions SD.

    Hi Cathy,
    >Q1: Does the process match SAP statement above, sales order -> outbound delivery -> invoice -> return order (to be rejected after PGR for return delivery) - return delivery (PGR) - free of charge subsequent delivery (to be created with reference to return order) - delivery (no invoce to be created)?
    > (to be rejected after PGR for return delivery) -
    What does this mean???
    Std Process is
Sales Order - Delivery - Invoice - Return Sales Order (wrt sales order / billing document) - Return Del. (wrt Return Sales order ) - PGR - Credit Memo wrt Return Sales Order
OR  (If not to create credit memo)
Free Of Charge Sub. Deli. Doc. (which is sales doc.) wrt Return Sales Order / Original Sales Order - Standard Deli.(LF) - Proforma Invoice
    >Q2: If the process is correct, how can the financial balance the value of returned goods, sales cost? Is it through the replacement goods? In my previous understanding, it's the must to create credit memo because return delivery has PGR.
It is not must to create credit memo unless the customer has asked for.
Eg. if you have sold material worth Rs. 100/-, invoice is created. Here customer a/c is debited. Now, you do return sales order - return delivey. Till return delivery, no accounting posting take place as far as customer is concerned. (Material doc is created after PGR and then a/c doc is created where cost of goods is posted) So after PGR, if the cust wants, either you can create Credit Memo where you return the money (in this case Rs.100) to customer that he has already paid or you deliver the material free of charge.
Only in case of Credit Memo, accounting takes place where customer a/c is credited. So there is reverse posting
For free of charge del. there is no accounting posting taken place
    >Q3: What order type is used for free of charge subsequent delivery? It seems SAP help mentions FD while some one mentions SD.
Both these Sales Doc. types are available in Std SAP system
SD - is used for Subsequent Delivery Free of Charge that is created wrt Return Sales Order / Billing Document
FD - is used when you want to give any free sample to the customer. Therefore it does not have any reference
    Hope you get some inputs
    regards,
    Sagar

  • Part1 is not Generating for Vendor Subsequent Delivery

    Hi ASAP
I hope you must be doing great; steps are as follow which Iu2019m following for vendor return and subsequent delivery for Raw / Capital goods.
    1. PO -> MIGO (101) -> Excise capture & Posting using J1IEX -> MIRO.
For excise, part1 & 2 to relevant register posting has taken placed.
Now quality dept. has rejected the goods, for which vendor delivery should take place.
    2. For Vendor return Delivery
    MIGO 122 w.r.t GR of 101-> Excise capture & Posting using J1IS&V.
For Excise, Part1 is getting created using J1IS, J1IV is creating Part 2, in Acct. doc. RG23C BED/ECS/HEC is being Credit and "PLA On Hold" is being Debited for BED/ECS/HEC amount.
    3. For Vendor subsequent delivery, I have done the excise config. for Movt. 123 .
    MIGO 123 w.r.t. GR of 122.
While doing GR for 123, system is not generating Excise screen.
Any way, After GR of 123, I have Capture Excise Invoice after inputting all relevant data, but while Posting, System is generating message that Part1 is does not exist for vendor excise invoice.
Now I think requirement is visible for your understanding to suggest me some valuable idea.
If possible can plz drop a test mail to hksiva.manoj at gmail dot com for further clarification?
    Thanks & Regards
    Manoj K Singh

    Hi Rajaram,
Thanks for your ealiest reply, yes i have done the config. which you suggested,
Even after this " Specify which mvt type involves excise invoices",  assignment system is not generating Excise screen for Movt. 123 w. r. t. 122.

  • Credit memo and subsequent GL account

    Dear All,
I would like to clarify 3 point below.
when i do credit memo on full quantity, the double entry is hitting vendor and GRC account.
when i do credit memo on part quantity, the double entry hitting vendor GRC and stock account also.
when i do subsequent debit or credit, double entry hitting vendor and stock account.
    1) May I know why credit memo, full quantity only hit GRC whereas part quantity hit GRC and stock?
    2) May i know why subsequent debit/credit hitting stock account only?
    3) credit memo must have to create return PO? without return PO can?
    Thanks

    Hi
credit memos and subsequent credits can be used to adjust the amount due to the vendor.
we usually receive a credit memo from a vendor if you where overcharged.
as in case of invoice .creit memo refer to purchase orders or good receipt
when you post credit memo, the total invoice quantity in the po history is reduced by the credit memo quantity.the maximum quantity you can make a credit for is the quanitty that has alredy ben invoiced.
During Credit Memo, It is making same accounting entires as it makes during Invoice posting

  • Credit memo and subsequent credit

Can anybody tell what is the difference between a Credit memo and subsequent credit memo.
I am finding the impact of both on the PO as same.

    Hi,
The difference betwen them is that a credit memo quantity and amount are
affected but in subsequent credit only the amount is affected nor quantity.
    For example.
You have in your po history.
    GR    amount  quantity
    x        10          10
    IR (normal invoice)
    x       10           10
    Credit memo
    x      5              5
Now you have invoice 5 amount 5 quantity
if you made a subsequent for per example
    amount 5
in your po history you have pending
    0 amount an 5 quantity
This quantity you must regularize with transaction MR11
Transaction mr11 only regularize quantities but not amounts,so for this is used
    subsequent credit/debit.
I hope my explanation helps you now to understand the differences.
    Best regards.
    Antonio.
