Substitue with Text when cell value is blank or empty

I have a matrix report where =Fields!CM_Discharge_Disposition.Value displays a blank or empty result.
I would like to display all blank or empty cells with text ie "Incomplete"
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Assuming its character based datatype you can use this
=IIF(Len(Fields!CM_Discharge_Disposition.Value)=0, "Incomplete", Fields!CM_Discharge_Disposition.Value)
this will make sure it handles both blank and null values.

Hi,
we have report with some number of columns and some columns cells have value with a lot of chars (more than 100). We would like to trim this column cell value to for example 20 chars and put all chars of column cell value to HTML TD title value as "hint". Something like this:

While I don't think there's any way to do this with a normal reportIf it is a standard report and not an interactive report, then it can be done using the column HTML Expression:
<span title="#FULL_COLUMN_VALUE#">#TRIMMED_COLUMN_VALUE#</span>

More trouble with timezones when storing value in TS WITH LTZ

Using Oracle 9i, JDK 1.4.2.
I have a script using the Jakarta Jelly framework to initialize my db. When I run the script, I want to set the current time in several "TIMESTAMP WITH LOCAL TIME ZONE" columns.
Before the time change, the following excerpt from my script was working fine.

The "Z" in the date/time format produces a 3-letter timezone abbreviation, like "PST" or "PDT".
Before the time change, I was getting "PST" from this, and the code was working fine. When the time change hit, I discovered that Oracle doesn't grok "PDT" (I found info on the internet about this, but I can't find it right now). I thought for a short time on this, and I changed "Z" to "z", which results in "-0700" instead of "PDT". This appeared to work fine. It didn't fail, at least.
However, what I discovered today is that Oracle gets confused by it. It recognizes that as a timezone offset, but it only "half" understands this. When I view the value in SQLDeveloper, it shows a time value 7 hours before the current time, instead of the correct current time as it used to.
I also tried hardcoding a date string, using "US/Pacific", and Oracle groks that, but of course, it doesn't know to use daylight savings time.

that makes sense because you are setting the sessionAttribute at the wrong time.. see you are passing the paramater from index to shop, so you really need to set the sessionAttribute in the index page so it is always available in the shop page.
hope that helps...you will always have this problem when refreshing because when you refresh the value from "customer" is not being passed again.....

Problem with text when publishing as an animated .Gif

I am using Flash CS4 to create a simple 300px250x animated web banner.
Everything works fine when I am in flash and when I export my file as a .swf,
but when I export my movie as an animated .gif, the text becomes a solid box of color...
any ideas why?
I created the text in flash, then converted it to a symbol...
the animation is a simple scroll and fade in.
Could it be because the text is too small or is there something else?
Really hoping someone can give me some insite into this, thanks!

Images overlap with text when after creating pdf: InDesign CS

Good morning,
I am using bot InDesign CS and CS2, and I am having a problem as the following:
After creating the pdf, images overlap with one another, or the text overlap behind the images so on.
First, I would like to mention the overlapped images had no problem at the previous version of the pdf. If I make a change on the page "06" for example and then recreate the pdf, a couple of images in the other pages move to the different place through the document.
So I tend to "replace" the changed pages into the previous version of the pdf instead of recreating the pdf for all pages.
Is this kind of bug or features of InDesign?
It would be very much appreciated if anyone answer me.

The PDF that was placed into ID loses all interactivity and form fields. There is no way to do what you want.

Iam using a table in numbers to plot daily graph lines. If I fill a cell with a text box at say zero it plots the graph. I can't actually set the cell value until the actual day but the graph plots it at zero when I don't want it to plot anything. Is tho

The answer is (sort of) in your subject, but edited out of the problem statement in the body of your message.
When you use a stepper or a slider, the value in the cell is always numeric, and is always placed on the chart if that cell is included in the range graphed by the chart.
But if you use a pop-up menu cell, you can specify numeric or text values in the list of choices for in the menu. Numeric values will be shown on the chart. Text values will not.
For the example, the values list for the pop-up menu was:

Choose
-1
-3
-5
The first pop-up was set to display Choose, then the cell was filled down the rest of the column. Any text value (including a single space, if you want the cell to appear blank) may be used instead of Choose.
For charts with negative Y values, the X axis will not automatically appear at Y=0. If your value set will include negative values, I would suggest setting the Y axis maximum and minimum to the maximum and minimum values on your menu list, rather than letting Numbers decide what range to include on the chart. Place a line shape across the chart at the zero level, and choose to NOT show the X axis.

According to your post, my understanding is that it show a blank site with text ACK when you create a site collection.
To narrow down the issue scope, I recommend that you can try to test the following things.
1. Create some new different types site collections in this web application to check if this issue is occurred on the only site collection in this web application.
2. Create a new site collection in another web application to check if this issue is occurred on the only web application.
3. Create a new web application, create a new site collection in this new web application to test if it works.
If the issue persists, please check the ULS log file to find more information about this issue.
For SharePoint 2013, by default, ULS log is at C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\15\LOGS.

Error when adding the sums of time duration when 1 cell value is 0

I am creating a very basic spreadsheet on my iPad to be used as a time clock by my 3 employees. Columns A & B are times in and out respectively and column C is the duration (B-A.) Rows 1-6 are Monday-Saturday and row 7 (specifically cell C7) is the sum of the durations of each day. So far, so good. Here's the problem...I would like to keep the same formula (C=B-A) in each cell from C1 to C6 regardless of whether or not that employee actually worked that day. When nothing is entered into columns A or B, the resulting value for column C is 0. When the value of any cell in column C is 0, the formula in cell C7 (=sumC1:C6) results in an error. Any ideas???
Also, is it possible to cut or delete the text of a cell and leave the cell formatting (i.e. fill colors, text color, boarder, etc)?

Hi Matt,
The error is that SUM cannot deal with a collection of values that contains both durations (eg. 1h 12m) and numbers ( eg. 0 ).
Don't let the value in any cell in the range be 0.
Your formula in column C is now: =B-A
If both B and A are empty, the result will be zero.
Use this revised formula: =IF(OR(LEN(A)<1,LEN(B)<1),"",B-A)
If either of the cells required to complete the subtraction has no data, the formula rturns a null string—a text value, which will be ignored by SUM. When both A and B contin Date and Time values, the formula returns a duration, and SUM will work.

When using some of my templates I have no problem in putting
a small graphic (a pdf icon) in-line with text. Yet with others the
insertion of the same small graphic forces a newline before and
after the graphic.
If the text and image is placed in an editable region of the
template, but not within a table cell all is ok.
If the text and image is place within a table cell within the
editable region the problem arises. I am sure there is something I
have specified incorrectly but cannot discover what it is.
An example of where it works fine is:

I am using Dreamweaver 8 within Studio 8 and run under

Is there a way to obtain the text item's value when the mouse pointer at? Mouse pointer may be located somewhere out of current record and even out of current block.

There is a when-mouse-over trigger and that works fine in client-server mode for Forms 5/6/6i, but that is less indicated when deployed using Application Server.
In that trigger you may write whatever code is necessary, restricted package procedures.
Still, I think, for your case, if you do not have to deal with a multi-record block, you should use the HINT property for that item and set_item_property with the HINT argument for that item in order to set the hint to the item's value - this should set_item_property should be called on the when-new-record-instance .

Invoice Forms created with Adobe X - default value for "total" column should be blank

I am new to the forum and just finding my way around. Thank you for any help.
I've created an invoice template in Word, then imported it into Adobe X Pro to turn it into a form. Pretty simple, but one thing is troubling me. I have the usual description, quantity, price each, and total columns. The "total" columns are defaulting with a "0" in them, and I'd prefer they default blank unless an entry is made on that line. I have right-clicked the "total" fields properties and the default values are blank already, but a zero still shows up. I know it can be done because one of my earlier forms defaults to a blank space until I entered something on that line. Then it calculated. How can I make the "total" column blank unless something is entered there?
Secondly, when I save a form and want to go back to make changes, I'm not seeing how to do this. It seems to save as a .pdf, and if I want to modify the form portion I have to start all over from scratch. What am I missing?

I've entered the script, and no change. The "total" columns still show a (zero) 0 even when I have not entered anything in that line.
For example:
Description             Qty     Unit Price     Total
                                                                         0
                                                                         0
                                                                         0
etc... all the day down the form.
I'd like the zeroes not to appear when there is nothing on the Description lines.
Incidentally, when selecting fields to use for calculations for the "total" column, we're supposed to place a check mark in the box of the fields to be calculated - and I can't CLICK in them. I have to use the space bar. Is that how it is supposed to work?

JTable cell value doesn't change with user input

I'm making a program that uses a custom table model (extends AbstractTableModel). The problem is when I type a value in one of the table cells, then press enter (or click outside the cell), the value goes back to what it was originally. So for example, a cell has "oldvalue", I type in "newvalue", press enter, and now the cell still reads "oldvalue". I figured the renderer would automatically update the cell by calling MyTableModel.setValueAt (...), but maybe I need a listener to do this? let me know. thanks

and thought it would be easier to extend
AbstractTableModel and then do all the queries inside
the methods instead of listening for events. Second
thing, I put a debug statement and setValueAt never
gets called when you type in a new cell value. How
does it update the cell then is my question?It's your TableModel bug but a much better advice would be that you should use
DefaultTableModel instead of extending AbstractTableModel. The DefaultTableModel
is usually more than enough for an ordinary JTable application.
The simplest and standard way of handling DB data from JTable is updating
vectors for DefaultTableModel data with your new DB data set. You don't need
to worry about low-level event firing, cell editor control etc. if you use
DefaultTableModel. See API documentation of DefaultTableModel closely.

I compose an iMessage with the destination as my email address and I attach 2 photos I want on my PC. I send them several times from my iPhone 5C but they never arrive. I look at my ipad later and realize that it's iMessage app is getting ( and swallowing) these emails. I then turn the ipad off. Still can't get the photos through because iphone is now getting them on it's iMessage. I turn off the iMessage feature and try to send photos from text msging. Phone tells me it can't send photos unless iMessage it turned on. What happened to regular MMS text messaging? I go and try to send photos as an email attachment and see that there is no option to attach from the stupid email program. I look up online to learn about the brave new world of apple attachments and send them.

Did not work. I've selected iMessage to ON and left it. After a few hours I recieved a message "activation unsuccessful. Turn on iMessage to try again". This has been going on for the past 3 days.
