Substitution in UWL from SPS12

Hi,
As SAP Mentioned that the User Substitution feature is availanle from SPS12 for KMC.
And as per the note of UWL they says for details to refer the End User Guide.
But there is no info about how to enable the substitution feature and also no clue in the Existing UWL Iviews.
Did any one tried to do the Substitution feature enabling in the Latest Patch of UWL?
Thanks & Regards
Sumanth

  • Manage Substitution Rules UWL

    Dear.
    I have the following doubt with the Manage Substitution Rules UWL :
    Is posible have a rule in where Only some WF should go to the inbox of the substitute?
    Ie. The Boss have process of Workfow of modules OM, TV, PA, PY that arrives at UWL, and the boss only need delegate to the substitute only the item for the process of WF of PY and PA for a date.
    How can solve this?
    Regards

    Yes there is something called Task classification!
    You can do so via filtering or classification of tasks
    read here
    You will need to enable the support information in order to get the
    associated task number that corresponds to the backend task.
    If you wish to hide certain tasks, the easiest way to do it is to
    redirect the task type that you want to hide to some unused item type.
    You can create your own XML file and give
    each task number its own entry in the XML
    They each need to be given a different item type name. They can't
    all be directed into the same item type since there would be
    multiple conflicting definitions for that item type in the file.
    No view definition is needed, you can just give it a garbage
    defaultView name (HiddenView).
    I have attached an example for you in the attachment area. This is
    stored as a text file. Also,
    Where you see the following:
    systemId="<YOURSID>" externalType="<YOURTASK>" in the XML, this
    obviously needs to be replaced with your sid and your task id which
    you are looking to exclude.
    For ex
    For example, if it is the following task pasted below:
    <ItemType name="uwl.task.webflow.TS01000096.SAP_R3_MUS"
    connector="WebFlowConnector" defaultView="DefaultView"
    defaultAction="launchSAPAction" executionMode="default">
    If you were trying to hide this, you would write it in the XML file
    as follows:
    <ItemTypes>
    <ItemType name="uwl.someHiddenType1"
    connector="WebFlowConnector" defaultView="HiddenView">
    <ItemTypeCriteria systemId="SAP_R3_MUS"
    externalType="TS01000096" connector="WebFlowConnector"/>
    </ItemType>
    ***************And for the next one:*********************
    <ItemType name="uwl.someHiddenType2" connector="WebFlowConnector"
    defaultView="HiddenView">
    <ItemTypeCriteria systemId="SAP_R3_MUS"
    externalType="TS01000097"
    connector="WebFlowConnector"/>
    </ItemType>
    Classification
    You can arrange tasks and workflows into various classes within the SAP
    System. The classes professional, personal and disciplinary are
    standard. The system checks the task class under the field name
    TASK_CLASS in the authorization object S_WF_WI. This system uses this
    authorization object to check the authorization for carrying out
    specific actions on particular work items. The assignment of tasks to
    classes is also important in the definition of substitutes. You can
    also define that only those classes are displayed which refer to tasks
    or workflows of a particular class. Take this into account when you
    create new classes and assign tasks or workflows to the classes.
    You can set this classification via:
    SPRO
    => IMG
    => Basis Components
    => Business Management
    => SAP Business Workflow
    => Basic Settings
    => Maintain Task Classes.
    Once the classification has been added as above you can then add this to
    your task. Goto PFTS => Enter task ID => Change Mode => Menu: Addition
    data => Classification.

    Any help will be appriciated.
    Regards,
    Mahee.

    i said to you that it shouldnt point to ABAP system!
    read my solution again
    Please ensure system configuration-
    >system landscape->system(my system)->Web Application server settings
    please check is it pointing to ABAP Server, If yes then change to Java
    server then your Application will work.
    The two types want different WAS properties. Now if you set
    up the WAS so that the BSP works well. There is a possibility that you
    can modify the WAS settings when you use WebDynpro launcher. You have
    three possibilities to change this:
    1. In the UWL connector settings modify the "Web Dynpro Launch System"
    property to SAP_LocalSystem. This case the webdynpro uses the URL and
    the port of the portal.>> I think this can suit you.
    2. In the System Landscape create a new system with the same properties
    as the R3_TEST1 but the WAS properties are different. After that you use
    the name of the new system as "Web Dynpro Launch System" in the UWL
    connector settings. This solution should be used if the SAP_LocalSystem
    is different than the necessary WAS settings.
    3. You can modify this setting in the configuration also under the
    ItemType. You should add the system property and the UWL uses it instead
    of the default one.

  • Posting entry in UWL from XI

    We are trying to post an approval request entry in a UWL from XI.  I'm using a BPM that makes an asynchronous call to an abap proxy in my abap client.  The BPM executes successfully.  The problem is the proxy call doesn't execute the code in the proxy (EXECUTE_ASYCHRONOUS).  I've done traces that show that the BPM is getting to the abap client, but I can't see what it is doing once it gets there and it doesn't post anything to the UWL.  I've tested the proxy to manually post something, so I know the proxy code works.  I just don't know why the proxy isn't being executed.  Can anyone provide assistance on what to look at next?
    Thanks,
    Keith

    Thank you all for your prompt responses.
    Yes, There are entries in SXMB_MONI in the XI client that show that the asynchronous call has been completed successfully (checkered flag).  There is an entry in SXMB_MONI in the business system that shows the proper BPM as the sender service.  This entry has a green flag instead of a checkered flag.  So I can tell that the message is successfully being received in the business system, but it appears to stop at that point.
    I see no entries in the queues in transaction SMQ2 in either the integration server or the business system.
    I'm looking though the blog "How do you activate ABAP Proxies?" to see if there is anything missed.
    Any other suggestions?

  • How to migrate UWL from EP6 to EP7

    Hello,
    We want to migrate UWL from EP6 to EP7. Is enough task to transport the customize XML file that is located in UWL?
    Is it necessary to upload to EP7 the rest of attached documents? How?
    Thanks,

    Just install the same way you did originally.  Download/install the desktop application, sign in, install the subscription application(s).  You are allowed to have two working installations so you can keep the original intact if you like.  If you prefer not to then you should sign out of the old installation as a minimum.

  • Send email (to MS Outlook) after substitution in UWL

    Hi
    We are using UWL on Portal for our workflows. We are using EP 7.0 (2004s) and ECC 6.0.
    Our requirement is:
    We should be sending an email to MS Outlook of the new user (substitute/delegate) when a substitution rule is created.
    Can anyone help us with this requirement?
    Regards,
    Aditya

    Hi,
    Once the substitution done you will get the entry in the Table HRUS_D2. I think in the UWL you can configure to send email once you got entry in the table (not sure), check with EP Consultant.
    If  That is not working write a custom program, to send email to the substituted person based on the "From Date" entry in the HRUS_D2. Then schedule that program in background, once in a day if there is entry for today that program has to pick the user id and get the email id and send to the respective person via your custom mail sending program.

In print preview everything is okay however, when printing to a  printer this font goes to an outline style font due to some font substitution going on behind the scenes. Why is this different to 4.6C systems and can we do something about it?
    Just tried HELVE 8pt and that works. I have no idea why 9pt doesn't. This is not a printer driver issue, we have tried this on various different printers with same end result. Any idea's??

    Hi Chris,
    As a work around, you may try re-adding/updating the font using SE73.

  • Substitution variable maxl from batch dynamic

    Hi,
    I have set up a batch file which is calling .msh file which changes my substitution variables.
    I am running this command: "alter database App2.Plan1 set variable 'ActMonth1' 'Jul';"
    "alter database App2.Plan1 set variable 'ActMonth2' 'Aug';"
    "alter database App2.Plan1 set variable 'ActMonth3' 'Sep';"
    I want my values Jul. Aug and Sep to change dynamically. E.g. In Database i will say this forecast starts in Sep so i will get values Sep, Oct, and Nov to my values for ActMonth1, ActMonth2, ActMonth3
    Is this possible? Or how can i make it automatically?

    Hi,
    Would it be alright just to pass the values into to maxl script from a batch script.
    essmsh var.mxl Jul Aug Sep
    Then your maxl script picks up the values e.g
    alter database App2.Plan1 set variable 'ActMonth1' $1;
    alter database App2.Plan1 set variable 'ActMonth2' $2;
    alter database App2.Plan1 set variable 'ActMonth3' $3;
    Then you would just change the values being passed into the maxl.
    The values being passed in could be generated by some logic in the batch script.
    Cheers

  • Restricting substitution in UWL

    Hi All
    I learnt that the BADI WF_SUBSTITUTES can be used to modify the substitution parameters entered by the user in UWL.
    However had some questions :
    1) Should this BADI be coded in SRM or Portal side?
    2) SAP has provided a standard implementation via class CL_EXM_IM_WF_SUBSTITUTE.
    However when I set my debug point in this class & carried out substitution in Portal UWL, the code didn't stop.
    So where exactly is this BADI is getting called.
    Thanks
    Kedar

    Hi Kedar,
    When testing the scenario please use the same user for the portal & backend. Set an External breakpoint in the BADi code and then open the portal and test.
    Does this work?

  • Alerts, Notify and e-mail using UWL from BPM tasks

    Hello experts,
    Can we activate UWL alerts and notifications for bpm human tasks ?
    For example, when a task needs to be completed and the user doesn't not make any thing, can we send an UWL Alert or message that appears to a supervisor role?
    Regards!
    Julio Cesar

    I dnt think this is possible out of the box in UWL..However in BPM you can do the following..
    For the BPM Human Tasks you are concerned about, assign it a deadline/timeline..Create the timeline boundary event on the human task..Then assign an BPM email notification activity to the Boundary event..So during runtime, if the user does not complete the task within the timeline, it will trigger the boundary event and then an email will be triggered from the BPM (you can select the recipients as required).
    This should work for your requirement.
