Successful MobileMe to iCloud migration, but iCal now giving error messages
I successfully migrated to iCloud, but when iCal tries to sync I get these two error messages.
iCal couldn't move your calendars to iCloud because an error occurred. Make sure you're connnected to the Internet and then try again.
There are two buttons: Try Again Now or Try Again Later.
I also simultaneously get this message, which will not let me select either choice (the buttons don't work):
The server responded with an error. The request for account "iCloud" failed.
The server responded with "509" to operation CalDAVMigrateToServerQueueableOperation.
The options are "Stay Offline" or "Go Online" but I can't select either button. I click and nothing happens.
I have to select "Try Again Now" or "Try Again Later." And when iCal tries to connect, the error messages appear again. It just keeps repeating every 30 minutes (I have iCal set to sync with iCloud every 30 minutes).
Any ideas? Thanks in advance. This is bugging me out.
This is indeed an unsolved problem.
I also have a persistent "the server responded with 509 to operation CalDAVMigrateToServerQueueableOperation".

Do you guys have something like this in your system.log? (use Utilities/Console.app to find out if you aren't command-line savvy).

ICal keeps giving error message and then crashing
When I open iCal it says "The server did not recognize your user name or password for account “US Holidays.” Make sure you enter them correctly." and also "The server did not recognize your user name or password for account “[email protected]” Make sure you enter them correctly"

Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

My imported songs into itunes match are not being uploaded but they are giving error messages
So when I am adding songs to my itunes library I am having issues with these songs being uploaded. I called apple support last time and they fixed the issue with me but it's started all over again. These songs have the little cloud with an exclamation point beside them and they say an error has occurred when uploading when i click on them. I have turned itunes match on and off and that didn't resolve the issue. Any ideas?
When you have that alert icon, generally that means iTunes can't find the original file. What happens if you do a Get Info on the track?

Just converted from MobileMe to iCloud. But now my iCal does not sync to my iPhone or iCloud. What did I do wrong?

Are your calendars in your iCloud group and not in a on my mac group.
only calendars in the iCloud group will sync. -
I have (or had?) 2 alias My main account is on iCloud. I followed the instructions to go from MobileMe to iCloud. But the alias stayed on MobileMe server (?) How to get this to iCloud? Not possible to put them into icloud as alias. How to keep it working?HELP HELP because people sending me things to this email and since today no excess any more to the mobile me server? And how to move this?????
<Emails Edited by Host>Firstly, I note that your profile states that you are using OS X 10.5.8, in order to use iCloud on your computer you need OS X 10.7.2 or better.
Secondly, I have asked for your email address to be edited out. Post your address in an open thread is a sure way to be bombarded by unwanted email, remember it will be here long after you have resolved your problem, for automated detection software to find.
If you want people to contact you, enable others to see your email address in your profile.
Finally, are you sure that these additional addresses are aliases and not sub accounts on a family pack, aliases from MobileMe should transfer to an iCloud when you migrate. -
I have updated my Apple ID and password, but am now getting a message that iCloud can't sync. On my iPod Touch, it still is showing up as my old Apple ID/email address.
Thanks! I found an earlier post making reference to deleting the account and then signing back in with the new info -- basically the same idea. Thanks for your help!

I have win7, outlook 2007 tried to sync with icloud but I get an error message and my calendar is blank. I do not see my outlook calendar, on the left pane under all calandar I see my me account checked and all others are unchecked. I looked at icloud and all the data is in and the iphones syncl with ipad but something is not right with my PC Outlook. I cannot get back to the good old mobileme. Thanks APPLE? Any suggestions from the community?
This issue can be caused by corrupted cookies.
Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
* "Clear the Cache": Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"

I can no longer back up my iphone to my computer on selecting 'sync'. I can back up to iCloud but I get an error message telling me I cannot backup to my Mac. Can any one help? It's driving me crazy!

It seems you are unable to activate iMessage on a device with no carrier service. The following article provides information regarding activation issues:

Check your device settings
Make sure that you’re connected to a cellular data or Wi-Fi network. If you're using an iPhone, you'll need SMS messaging to activate your phone number with iMessage and FaceTime. Depending on your carrier, you might be charged for this SMS.
Go to Settings > General > Date & Time and make sure that your time zone is set up correctly.

Firefox does not open, but instead gives the error message, "Failed to read the configuration file." It has worked in the past, but not now.

Do a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder before (re)installing a fresh copy of the current Firefox release.

I have moved and changed ISP from Brighthouse to Verizon. I am receiving my icloud emails, but the senders are receiving messages that they are undeliverable. I can't find the cause or solution to the problem. Any thoughts?
PS. I have deleted Roadrunner accounts, and reset new email account.You can't. The only way to get songs in the Music app is to sync from a computer or to download from iTunes.

My hard drive fried and had to be replaced. I'm trying to install CS4 from my original discs but keep getting this error message - "One or more of the required components of Adobe Creative Suite 4 Design Standard failed to install correctly". A customer service rep gave me a link to download off the Adobe site, but when I try to open the file to run it, I get this error message - "A problem occurred extracting the archive".
Can anyone help?Yep. Nothing happens at all. Windows tries to execute the uninstaller, but I don't get any other screen and all activity stops for the MSI. I monitored it in Process Monitor and the MSI executable appears, but is quickly ended, like it couldn't find anything or something.
It's as if windows has a blank entry in Programs and Features, because it used to show the size of the Adobe application in the "Size" column. Now it's just blank. Link to screenshot below:

Note the install date. That's when I was able to successfully reinstall it. Now I can't even do that. I should also mention I tried Revo Uninstaller. It deleted one small registry key, but nothing changed.
By the way, is the CS cleaner supposed to ask for a disc in the drive when you run it? It refused to run unless I had one in it, so I used my install dvd. -
i am trying to install itunes 10.5 but I get an error message that says "click ok to try again or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package iTunes.msi..." I try to point iTunes to the .msi file on my c drive but then it gives me a message says "the file location is not a valid installation packaage for the product iTuness. Try to find the installation package 'itunes.msi' in a folder from which you can install iTunes". Any help, insight, guidance would be greatly appreciated!!

Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time? -
For the first time, I'm trying to use adobe premiere elements 10 that came with my pc Windows 8. I created a single project, saved it but cannot open it. My pc shows the file I created but I get an error message that says this type file is not supported or the codex is not installed. What computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 10 running on? And, what video card/graphics card does that computer use?
Is this the first time you are using Premiere Elements 10 or have you worked with it before successfully? There is no easy solution until we
know the details and troubleshoot to determined what caused the problem.
1. Can you open a new project?
2. After you saved/closed the problem project, did you move, delete, or rename any of the files/folder that were related to the source media
for that project?
3. Please review the Adobe document on troubleshooting damaged projects.

When trying to add music to a slide show from my PC to TV through Apple Tv the photos are fine but I get an error message that says the music cannot be downloaded.
Because the location for each song in your library is on your hard drive. If the hard drive isn't there, how can iTunes play it?
You'll have to move/copy the music from your hard drive to your computer's hard drive.
Basically, EASIEST way to do all this, if you don't care about your play counts, etc...
-Delete EVERYTHING from iTunes, so that your library is now empty.
-Go to "Advanced" inside of the "Preferences" window, found in the "Edit" drop-down. You can also access Preferences by pressing Ctrl+, (Press Ctrl and the comma key)
-Change your iTunes Media Folder Location to something simple, but on your computer. I use C:/iTunes. Make sure "Keep iTunes Media Folder Organized" and "Copy files to...." are both checked. You can close Preferences now.
-Now, drag and drop your music from your hard drive into your iTunes library. iTunes will automatically add the music to your library, as you would expect, and also creates a copy of each file to place into that iTunes Media Folder you just created.
Shouldn't have any more problems... -
I had to reinstall CS4 and now have error messages when opening bridge and photoshop
The error message is "The specified module could not be found. C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe Version Cue CS4\Client\4.0.1\Version Cue.DLL
I tried what you suggested and it did not help. whenever I try to open either photoshop or bridge, I get a message saying that there was a problem loading scripts the last time that Bridge was open and do I want to try loading them again? If I click yes, I get that same error message that I reported in my original question and photoshop/bridge will immediately close. If I click no, photoshop and bridge will open but it will not let me open a raw format document. It seems like Adobe Camera Raw is not being recognized. One of the updates I downloaded was an update to Adobe Camera Raw so the functionality is there, it just can't be accessed. do you think I should try to uninstall and re-install Photoshop again?
