Suffering with ERPi/ODI installation

I am having great difficulty in configuring ERPi (11.1.2.1) and ODI (11.1.1.5)
The source is Peoplesoft Financials and the target is Planning.
I have been wading through the documentation and am having problems in setting this up.
ODI - I have a master/work single repo which I created using the RCU.
I have created a logical schema for Planning, ERPI (Oracle) and PSoft (Generic SQL) also a File schema for ERPI.
I have created physical data servers for planning, ERPI and PSoft and also physical schemas. I am not sure what contexts are or mean and where they fit into the setup.
Do I then need to import files from the C:\Oracle\EPM\EPMSystem11R1\products\FinancialDataQuality\odi folder?
I only have the following.
Adapters, scenarios and topology folder. I thought there were projects that could be imported form there but I only have 'load plans and scenarios'
I am completely confused, does anyone have any good tips, docs, screenshots, URLs anything? that can help.
I have tried various Oracle ODI docs, and feel like I'm going round in circles.

Clarifications on ODI installation (for FDM ERPi to drill through EBS)
This is for drilling EBS from HFM and Planning through FDM. EPM is 11.1.2.2. ODI is 11.1.1.6.0.
A sharing on the steps I am going to perform, anyone who has done it before or idea on how to do so please help me to have a look and validate. I found documentation on EPM and ODI installation separately but I don't find step-by-step guide to make the subject configuration work. Please let me know if you know one. Thanks a lot.
The FDM ERPi component will be configured AFTER ODI is up and running. FDM and all other EPM components are up-and-running before the ODI installation.
Steps to install/configure ODI:
1. Create DB schema, one for MASTER and one for WORK, grant DB access according to the install guide
2. Use Oracle RCU (Repository Creation Utility) v11.1.1.3.3 to populate the MASTER and WORK tables
3. run ODI installer, using the jdk160 located in the ORACLE middleware home directory
4. select all available components of ODI for installation i.e. ODI Studio (with local agent), ODI SDK, Standalone Installation, all under Java EE installation (Java EE Agent, ODI Console, Public Web Service)

In the situation you have described unless the Authentication mechanism and the style of that mechanism for all the environments (in this sitaution Hyperion vs. Oracle EBS) are identical then there is no unified approach. Generally when going from Hyperion into Oracle EBS the EBS landing page is returned prompting you for valid credentials.
In order for this to work in on seemless move you would have to use OID with OSSO.
OID = Oracle Internet Directory
OSSO = Oracle Single Sign On

Multiple users on the same ODI installation?
Hi all
is it possible to have multiple users working with the same odi installation? We have a virtualized IT infrastructure (citrix and wmware) where we can have multiple users on the same virtual instance. From our point of view, there is no licencing issue since we have a package covering literally everything.
One of the issues are the config files stored in the installation directory of odi (../bin). Is there a way to tell odi to store them in a different location, eg. the user home?

BennoODI looks in the current working directory for the configuration files, mostly you would have issues with the snps_login_work.xml and snps_login_security.xml files, but these may be common across all users. (just don't store the username/passwords for the ODI users in them).
The way ODI works, most of what are creating is stored in the repository anyway, it is only local GUI config stuff that may be stored locally.
Short answer, yes, you can, but might need to modify the config files a little to make it work. -
When trying to install itunes the following appears. There is a problem with this windows installer package. A program for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. Any help?
a colleague of mine suffers from the same problem. did a quick look on the apple support pages. found many topics covering the same problem.
also saw 1 marked as correct answer... (just browse the discussion pages before you ask, this answer appearantly was sitting there from oct. 14...)

Hi Rick,
by "repair" I mean I went to the control panel, option - programs and features, and in the list of all my installed programs I selected "Apple Software Update". On top of the screen you find the options Uinstall, Change and Repair. I clicked the repair button and that did the trick. After the repair I could uninstall the program. I also uninstalled iTunes, Apple Application Support, Apple Mobile Device Support en Bonjour, thus all Apple programs. Then I installed iTunes 10.5 again and everything went fine.

Configure BI Apps on ODI installation
Hi All,
we have installed ODI 11g and BI Applications 11.1.1.8 (on Windows Server 2008) and we have need to use BI Apps (like standard mapping SDE, SIL, PLP ecc).
Our installation works correctly, but, under “Projects” tab, we don’t have any object.
How we can “configure” BI Apps on our ODI installation?

I stand to be corrected but...my understanding is that Oracle wanted to move away from informatica as the etl tool and released the 7.9.5.2 fusion edition with ODI.
Then there was a change of direction and the later 7.9.6 releases are all supplied with an oem version of informatica.
If you going with 7.9.6.1 and you do not want to use informatica you will have to custom build your etls....

We tried installing ODI on Solaris but there seems to be some issue with the Universal Installer. We installed all .pkg's but no luck.
Alternately, we followed end up doing a manual install of ODI by creating dir and copying the required files from the Win ODI install.

I need help, I am able to configure EBS with HFM using ERPi (ODI), I followed all the steps mentioned to configure like creating dataserver, physical and logical connections and configuration is successful. I am able to initialize source also , but I am not able to see the data from source in ERPi.
Do I need to perform any ETL part in ODI?????. Thank you.

Perhaps let's first try updating your Apple Software Update.
Launch Apple Software Update ("Start > All Programs > Apple Software Update"). Does it launch and offer you a newer version of Apple Software Update? If so, choose to install just that update to Apple Software Update. (Deselect any other software offered at the same time.)
If the ASU update goes through okay, try another iTunes install. Does it go through without the errors this time? -
I am trying to install iTunes on my PC (using Windows 8.1), but I get this error: "There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A DLL required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor." The iTunes file (64-bit) I am trying to install, is named "iTunes64Setup.exe". Awful Experience with Delivery and Installation of Appliances from BBY
I went to the Best But in College Park, MD on 02 March 2015 with the intention of buying an appliance suite (refrigerator, range, and dish washer). A sales associated assisted me promptly upon entering the store, and I let him know what I needed to purchase and that I would need delivery, installation, and haul away for all three items. He stated that the delivery, installation, and haul away was included with the price of all three items, and we scheduled my initial delivery date for 13 March 2015.
The evening before my delivery, 12 March 2015, I got a call from the Geek Squad giving me a three hour window they would be there to deliver and install my items. In going over the order with the representative I asked if the same crew dropping off the appliances would be installing the plumbing for the dishwasher. Contrary to what I was told in the store at the time of purchase, the representative on the phone notified me that a dishwasher installation was not sold to me and the following day the only thing the crew would be doing is dropping off the dishwasher. She then instructed me to call the store to see if there was any adjustments that could be made that would not change my delivery date the following day.
So, I call the store and explain what is going on to the representative in customer service. He instructs me that he cannot add the installation on to the order for the next day because the route has already been made and the warehouse told him its too late to change. So, instead he, in conjunction with his manager, said he can add the dishwasher install for a later date that I was available, but the delivery of the range and the refrigerator would remain for the following date. After about 45 minutes we work through the kinks and he lets me know he will call me back the following day to give me a solidified date and time that the dishwasher can be installed.
So, the following day comes and the time frame for my delivery and installation of the range and refrigerator comes and goes without hearing a word from Best But or the Geek Squad. So, I call customer service and the rep I'm speaking with lets me know that whatever the in-store rep did over the phone the following night put the entire order into reschedule and nothing would be delivered to me that day. Imagine my frustration because I've taken off from work to take possession of appliances that AREN'T GOING TO SHOW UP. Immediately, I hang up with customer service and go into the store where I originally purchased the appliances. I was told it did in fact get pushed into reschedule and my only option was to reschedule the delivery AGAIN. After working with both the rep and the General Manager in-store I was able to get the delivery rescheduled for 23 March 2015 with the dishwasher installation added to the order for free since it was an error caused by a Best Buy employee.
On 21 March 2015, I got the calls from the automated system giving me my three hour window the installers would be there on the 23rd of March to install my items. On 23 March 2015, the crew with the refrigerator and the range showed up first. They asked me to come to the truck upon arrival because there was some issue with the refrigerator and they wanted me to see it before they unloaded it and brought it up to my home. The refrigerator of course shows up badly dented on the door, so I refuse it because I haven't gone through all of this to take possession of a damaged product. The delivery man let me know that if I did take possession of it, they would offer me some discounts because it was damaged. I said no thanks and he called customer service for me to speak with a woman at the warehouse about the damaged product. The woman at the warehouse said she was going to check their inventory and call me back within a few moments to reschedule a new unit to be sent out. They install the range without an issue. Next, the dishwasher team shows up and that goes off without a hitch. Of course, I didn't hear back from anyone at the warehouse at all that evening to reschedule the delivery of a new refrigerator.
All in all, this has been a HORRIBLE experience with Best Buy. As a loyal Elite Status Rewards Zone customer and a former employee of the Best Buy in College Park, MD, I can say after this appliance experience, Best But has lost a lifelong customer. The level of customer service I received was sub-par and their attempts to correct an issue that started with their employee giving me improper information about installation being included in the price of all the appliances made the situation worse. I ended up returning the refrigerator because I refuse to wait any longer or go through anymore drama in order to take possession of something I paid for twenty days ago and can't receive because of Best Buy's inability to get their act together. I ended up purchasing a refrigerator from Sears immediately after cancelling my order for the one from Best Buy and it was delivered next day and damage free.Hello canbro34,
The purchase and delivery of new appliances should be exciting and fun and not result in the kinds of tribulations that you describe. Our representatives should ensure that you have everything you need for a successful delivery and installation and I was surprised to read that the did not. I apologize for your having to cope with this frustrating experience.
I was gratified to read that the store's general manager was able to work with you to help assuage some of the problems that were created. It was regrettable that the refrigerator arrived damaged, but I was happy to hear that the delivery and installation of the other appliances went smoothly.
Although I understand your reasons, I was dismayed to read that you elected to purchase your refrigerator from a competitor and that this experience may influence your future shopping destination. It is my hope that you will give Best Buy another chance one day soon.

Yes, I had found a similar solution also. I'm running XP Pro, SP3. I went Control Panels/ Add-Remove programmes/apple software update/ change/ repair. Then run the 10.5 exe.
While the programme updated from version 8 of iTunes, my new iTunes is now a mess. Not all of my music was in the same folder previously but it all showed up on iTunes. Now many albums have been left out, some have only a few tracks and some have two copies of some tracks as well as having other tracks missing. I haven't begun to work on that. -
I have attempted to upgrade my iPad which is necessar to downloan an app I want (My Radar). The iTunes on my computer will not process the upgrade of 10.5 without message: "There is a problem with this Windows Installer Package. A program run as part of the set up did not finish as expected. Contract your support personnel or packae vendor." ..... Little old lady needs help, my iTunes "appears to be 10.5 on my PC; however, will not upgrade my iPad. I have BitDefender as the "protector" on my PC if that is the issue.

I have Wondows Vista... I tried to upgrade to Itunes 10.5, and received an error orginially stating that I was trying to install a version older than the one I had. Thanks!I have been in touch with Apple support in reference to my problem. We went through every solution available, and found no fix. The tech then suggested I contact Microsoft concerning this issue. I thought that suggestion was just to get me pointed somewhere but Apple. Boy was I wrong!! I contacted Microsoft, and was directed to a free download called Microsoft Fix. This program fixed something in the regisitor, and wala everything was fixed!! I now have I-Cloud and I-Tunes loaded and working well. So, if you can't install Apple Software and are running Window 7 you might give Microsoft Fix a try, it fixed my problem.....

I am trying to install itunes 10.5, but during the download I get the following message, "There is a problem with this Window Installer Package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personanal or package vendor." If this is my personal computer and was able to upgrade to the previous version (pre 10.5), why not now? What is my "package vendor"? And what is it I need to do to fix this? The message is unclear. Unfortunately, I deleted my itunes program, thinking that in doing so, 10.5 would finally load. Now I have no itunes on my computer and unable to sync my iphone. Help!
