Suggestions for calibration device for imac 24 monitor and epson 2400 print

I'm in search of a quality calibration device that would calibrate my monitor and the epson 2400. When i print, the colors seem to be darker than what i'm seeing on the screen.

I cannot send an email from my iPad 2? No problem receiving, why does this happen? Have tried the suggestions for setting up email and after doing the sync mail through iTunes receiving worked great but still cannot send? Any help would be great!

The fact that you can receive means you have a valid e mail address, and have established the connection to the incoming server, so all of that works.  Since the send does not work, that means your outgoing server is rejecting whatever settings you used formthe outgoing set up.  Try them again.
Google your particular isp, and ipad and many times you will find the exact settings needed for your isp.  Or tell us here, and soneone else may be on the same isp.  Some mail services need you to change a port, or have a unique name for the outgoing server.
    Kep trying.

  • Looking for a good black and white laser printer

I am sorry if I am at a wrong place, but  I would like to get some recommend for a good black and white laser printer.  Maybe some of the user in this group have some good experience
    Thanks in advance - Frank

The Brother HL-5340D is an excellent choice. It's much cheaper to operate in the long run than others. I did a cost breakdown between it and an HP printer here.
However the HL-5340D is discontinued. We paid $170 for ours new, and new ones that remain are at a price gouging $530. The current nearest model is the updated HL-5450DN for $185.

  • Language Monitors and Bi-directional Printing: What functionality is lost when disabling? What else uses them?

Server OS: Windows 2008 R2 Standard
Function: Primary Domain Controller and Print Server
Clients: All are running Windows 7 Pro 64-Bit SP1
We're considering disabling the HP Universal Print Driver Language Monitor and in-turn Bi-directional Printing due to potential server spooler instabilities, before we do this the IT Manager wants to be sure:
    1. What functionality is lost when disabling Language Monitors and Bi-directional Printing?
    2. What else uses Language Monitors and Bi-directional Printing them? In other words what may break?
    3. What specifically do Language Monitors and Bi-directional Printing provide?
    Thanks

    Alan (or anyone else):
We're testing disabling the language monitor/bidirectional printing for one particular printer.
Can I confirm this is the procedure for disabling a particular print queue's Language Monitor and Bidirectional Printing? -
    1. Locate the relevant Language Monitor registry key in: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Monitors
Either delete or rename the registry key (so it cannot be found), in my case: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Monitors\HPMLM121
I renamed it to have the date at the end (HPMLM121_2015-01-29).
    2. Inside the above registry key is a DLL file mentioned under the DRIVER reference. In my case it's called: hpmlm121.dll.
I searched the entire C drive on the server and this was only found in C:\Windows\System32. I moved this elsewhere out of C:\Windows and also renamed the DLL too.
Therefore preventing Windows from being able to find/use it.
    3. I then unticked Bidirectional Printing Support in the Printer Properties Ports tab of the printer in question.
    4. Lastly either restart the server (or stop/restart the Spooler service).
I've done all this and the HP Print Notifications for Replace Cartridge etc... are still active.
    Any idea why this is?
    Thanks

  • Suggestion for a Video Monitor For FCP

I am looking for a video monitor to use with FCP. The Sony PVM-14L2 13" has been recommended. Is anyone familiar with this monitor or do you have a monitor which is working well for you that you would recommend.
    1) Should I be looking for anything key features not listed below?
    2) Will I need any other hook ups to make this work with my system?
(Right now I am using a JVC SR-VS30U Dual Deck. A firewire from the computer to the deck and component from the deck to to t.v. the deck also has s-video)
    3) When I move into High Definition will this monitor work?
Key Features of the Sony PVM-14L2 13"
    Variety of Input Options
The monitor accepts composite, S-video, component and RGB signals standard without options. Serial Digital signals can be viewed with the optional
(with audio) or BKM-120D (without embedded audio). Even
, Sony's version of Fire Wire can be displayed with the optional BKM-155DV board.
    Beam Current Feedback Feature
In studio environments, monitors tend to be left on for long periods. This practice leads to white-balance drift and unstable color reproduction. The Beam-Current Feedback circuit corrects for drift over long-term usage of the monitor.
    Professional Set-up Features
Calibrating monitors assures that each display is showing correct colors which will match any other correctly calibrated display. The PVM-14L2 has set-up functions like Blue-Gun, H/V Delay, and selectable color temperature for these critical calibrations.

Sounds like a great choice as long as the size works for you. A small truly high-res monitor is much more useful than a big impressive soft one for analysis monitoring.
    1) I don't think you need anything else unless the JVC thing doesn't work out. In that case you can try your camcorder, or a capture device such as ADS Pyro, Matrox MXO, or one of the Aja or Decklink cards. Depends...
    2) JVC SR-VS30U - I don't know, there are a lot of devices that won't simply pass FireWire through, including many or most DVD recorders. Your best bet is to try it and monitor it on whatever you have.
If you're on NTSC you'll have to pay attention to the black setup. Many consumer digital devices these days won't put in the 7.5IRE setup for North America.
That's OK as long as you aren't using it to do analog conversions. If you can get FCP bars through the thing and set the monitor up properly to them, you should be OK. I'm sure the monitor can be set to 0IRE in menus if need be.
    3) It won't show you an HD signal. If you're using the MXO it will give you a realtime SD downconvert to monitor. But that monitor won't display anything but NTSC and PAL. If it did I would probably say that 13" is too small.

  • Need Suggestions for iMac Replacement

Hello Community, I would truly appreciate any suggestions and feedback you may have on our iMac replacement dilemma.  We currently have an early (January 2006) 20” Intel Core Duo Mac, OSX 10.6.8 with a 250 GB HD that has served us well these last 9 years, however as more applications are written for more memory, 64 vs. 32 bits, videos and pics, the Mac has become a bit wonky and it’s becoming difficult to update iPhone and IPad info, so it’s time for replacement.  I have reviewed the new iMacs and MacBooks and am unsure which system is best for us.  Here’s our situation:
We want the system to work effectively as long as possible.  Another 9 years would be nice.  This will require more memory and drive storage in anticipation of bigger future technological changes.  For example, storing movies on the hard drive wasn’t a “thing” when we bought our Mac.  We are quickly filling our HD up with videos, music and pictures.  Using iCloud for storage is not very feasible because of the following:
We live in the country and do/will not have access to high-speed internet through land-based cables.  We recently cancelled HughesNet Satellite when AT&T upgraded the 4G LTE equipment on the closest cell tower to our home.  Our only internet access is now through an AT&T hotspot.  It has worked well with iPhone software updates and movie downloads, but I don’t know how well it will work with a very large OSX download.
Because of our internet access situation a MacBook with a docking station and monitor seems like a good way to go since OSX is no longer available on CDs and Apple allows owners to take their MacBooks into the store to download the OSX updates.  The down side appears to be dual vs. quad core processors and memory size.  I also have an iPad and iPhone, so I have no need to travel with a laptop. Cost is always a fact in these decisions.
The iMacs are wonderful, and have plenty of options.  Do we need quad-core vs. dual core?  And, what options do I have to upgrade the OSX software if AT&T becomes cantankerous?
Community, what are your thoughts on our situation?  Which Mac system do we need?

I didn't find any string functions to do this.Transalate() is not helpful here.
How can i achieve this functionality.Have you tried concat() function...wherein you could say concat('string here', getVariableData('varName', 'partname', 'xpathLocation'))
    e.g.
         <copy>
              <from expression="concat('Failure',
                   bpws:getVariableData('userFault','userFault','/ns3:UserBpelFaultMessage/ns3:userCode'))"/>
              <to variable="Reply_userFault_OutVar"
                   part="faultReturn"
                   query="/ns10:outputDataType/ns10:EventLog/ns10:Event/ns10:result"/>
         </copy>
    Makes sense?
    regards
    Joy

  • Moving to Japan - suggestions for iMac

I will soon be moving to Japan (for about two years, though I may come back to visit) and would kind of like to bring my iMac with me. I only recently got it as a gift (less than a year old) so I'd really rather not sell it and buy another one in Japan, as I'd not get nearly the value it's worth most likely.
Does anyone have any advice for transporting it with me? My main options seem to be finding a way to pack it in one of my suitcases (thus losing a LOT of other packing room, and risking the integrity of the computer) or having it shipped over, which I believe would be very expensive.
I do have a laptop, and I could just leave my iMac behind, but it seems like such a waste to not use a brand new wonderful desktop for the majority of two years. Does anyone have any suggestions for how to handle this, and what would be the most efficient option? Thank you in advance

I have carried my iMac on buses, trains and airplanes as carry-on baggage with an iLugger. Fortunately mine is an Early '06 17" iMac. It fits in an overhead bin. The same iLugger will carry a 20", but if yours is 24" they make an iLugger for that one but I have no idea if it would work for you as carry-on. If not, then I would just take the MacBook or ship it. Do you still have the original packing cartons? Perhaps an Apple Store or another reseller has an extra one. Apple ships them out from the factory in China in these cartons.

  • UPS suggestions for iMac...

Just got an iMac and I need to make sure that I'm protected from power issues etc. I want something better that a surge protector power strip. I'm thinking of one of the APC UPS (battery backup).
Anyone have experiences with the APC UPS on Mac's? Or does anyone have other suggestions for having a UPS?
    Thanks,

    B60Boy,
I found an APC configuration tool that I think you will find useful. You can input what your needs are and it will suggest some UPS choices for you.

I did a dry run based on what I thought your needs were and it came up with 3 different selections. Give it a try and see if it answers your question.

  • Battery management system design for EV to monitor and to balance the Li-Ion cells' voltages using LabView, NI myRIO-1900 and LTC6804-2 IC

    Hello,
I have NI myRIO-1900 and LabView 2014. I need to design a Bettary management system to monitor and balance the rechargable Lithium-Ion battery packs' voltages and charges using LTC6804-2 IC. I am facing some problems to program the IC for monitoring and balancing the cells' voltages and charges using LabView via NI myRIO. Can anyone help me to design this by giving some references and technques.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Mohammad,
I believe with EPS you can monitor the cells' voldates and charging. I'm not sure what you mean by balancing, though. Can you elaborate a bit more?
    Thanks.

  • Some suggestions for DPS Folio Builder and Producer...

Aside from some speed improvements, these tools fall short of a decent production system. Some improvements would be good for 2015.
    • red light / green light on wether an article in the folio builder needs updating.
    • put the order of the Kicker and the Article Title in the order it appears in the app (in Folio Producer) (i.e.: Kicker first!).
    • frequently after signing in to the Folio Builder, Indesign 'hides' itself and the finder appears. Irritating! Doesn't crash InDesign, just hides it in the dock.
    • On leaving the Folio Builder for a period, and then tapping on it - say after one hour dormant, it crashes InDesign, regularly.
    • it would be great to drag and drop several articles in Folio Builder and be able to move them. Currently only one at a time seems to work.
    • show a small thumbnail in the article of the indesign page (instead it shows a white page)
    • in 'article properties' KICKER should be at the top to replicate where it displays in the HUD. So many people get mixed up with this.
    • it would be great to change the name of an article by clicking on the name - not having to change 'article properties' - the same way that MSO names can be edited
    • would also be good to select the various options for articles in the FB by holding down CTRL or ALT
    • have an option to 'UPDATE ALL' in the drop down options in FB
Just some ideas - these would all help greatly.
    Dave

I'd love to see native widgets in the Folio Overlays window like in Muse (or Twixl) for Google Maps, Youtube and others.
Also more transitions for slideshows, and better image resolution for PDF articles (108ppi or 72ppi for graphics, depending on what you're doing, isn't enough for my clients).

  • Wireless router for iMac, MacBook Pro and iBook G4

I am in a deep trouble finding a wireless router which could be configured by a Mac and working with iMac, MacBook Pro and iBook G4. Please recommend me a wireless router

Any 802.11 b/g/n or 802.11 b/g WiFi router will work. Any router can be configured by a Mac. While some now ship with fancy configuration software that attempts to mimic the easy setup of an Apple base station, they all can be configured via a web browser. My own preference is NetGear.
