Suitable example needed to understand concepts around WSDL and usage in XI

Hi All,
How to create an WSDL from Interface Definition? What are all the pre-requisities for this step?
I know, how to create an interface when a WSDL is provided at the receiver side. However, not getting why we need a WSDL created for the sender side.
Explanation with example will aid me lot.
Regards,
M.Raj

Hi raj,
"In case of Sender SOAP adapter,we first create data type, message type, message interface, message mapping and interfce mapping in Integration repository .
Then,we go to Integration Directory, and create business service and then create a communication channel for same.then we have to choose tools->define webservice "
until this it is correct....no need to import the developed wsdl into the IR.
you have to use this generated wsdl in your external application(SOAP sonar ,WebDynproApp. or XML spy ) to invoke the webservice. (SOAP<->XI<->RFC)
and .....
when your SOAP will be the receiver you have to import the wsdl of the webservice and import it into the external def.(if ithe wsdl is provided otherwise we need to create it ...not so easy.) and in this case there is no need to create data types and message types...
cheers
Sunil.

  • Understanding Concept of Supervisor and MSFC on Cisco siwtches

    Hi
I have never worked extensively on Cisco switches. Can anyone explain me concept/features of Supervisor and MSFC. What are the types of IOS's run on these?
Is there any good link we can refer for more understanding.

    Hi Darpan,
Supervisor is a switching engine and MSFC is a routing daughter card which sits on the supervisor.
Supervisor in cat6k alone is just a layer 2 switch but together with MSFC it performs like a router also.
Supervisor you can image as a layer 2 switch which stores cam entry like other layer 2 switch and perform all layer 2 functions. MSFC is a daughter card which supports all layer 3 routing like intervlan routing , routing with implementation of routing protocol like eigrp , ospf etc etc.
NOW cat6k can run in 2 modes
    1) Hybrid Mode
    2) Native Mode
    1) Hybrid Mode : When cat6k is in Hybrid mode it has 2 different main images. One for supervisor which is a CATOS and one for MSFC which is IOS. To configre sup and msfc you have to switch between sup and msfc. To configure sup you have only set base command options and for msfc it is like regular router IOS
    2) In native mode there is a single main image which is loaded on supervisor bootflash and msfc bootpath is to boot from bootflsh of msfc. In this case there is only a single imterface where you configure sup as well as msfc also.
Have a look at this link

  • Help needed in understanding what Python is and ho...

    Hi All,
I have read about python and i dont quite grasp the entire technical language behind it but there are some apps that i would like to install on my E71 but they require python.  I have tried to download python form sourceforge but it has never worked.  Thank you all for your assistance.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Python is an interpreted programming language.
For Python applications to run, you need to install the Python runtime first.
For the E71, download the SIS file for S60 3rd Edition or S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 1 (FP1) from:
    http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=154155&package_id=171153&release_id=644640

  • Need help understanding placement of images and text

I am a beginner with contribute and as such contributing to
our website with text and images. I may be missing something, but
am having a frustrating time of including and arranging images on a
page. It appears that the "drag and drop" capability is very
limited. I am having to use spacebar, enter key, image alignment,
resizing, and padding to arrange pictures. Production is at a
    crawl..need quidance quick!
The following link is to our website...I am attempting to
create a gallery of projects with each project having its own page
of text and images. A temporary link to them is found at the bottom
of Services page. I appreciate a pointing in the right direction.
    http://www.watsoncommercialgc.com/ProjectGalleryIndex.htm

    Glad that worked out fine.
Dreamweaver is a development tool with lots of possibility.
But purchasing this is an investment of course. But adding
galleries and stuf like that will be easier to accomplish.
Alternative is to open the page souirce of Contribute pages in an
external app. and dive into the source and adjust that tom your
    needs.
You can allways download a trial of Dreamweaver an try it
    out.

  • What's is the best way to use iPhoto? I need to understand.

What's is the best way to use iPhoto? I need to understand.
I guess the iPhoto is only for people with 5,000 of personal photos.
Or even 200,000, but they can't use this app everyday.
I'm not talk about working as a photographer. They use Aperture.
They may use iPhoto like a family album that you take a look sometimes.
And don't care about putting photos from the camera or from internet everyday.
I have tons of music and I love iTunes 8, works great. So I tried but I can't stand iPhoto anymore.
I have over 173,000 photos. My goal is organize, have total control, crop in Preview and delete them fast as I can.
The iPhoto is too slow. And is not only about performance, more RAM... but the whole concept.
Finder is much better/richer/flexible to organize than iPhoto.
I'm not talking about the photographer workflow.
And I'm not talking about editing and all these great photo features, the search, and all the iLife environment. They are amazing.
When I'm iPhoto, I feel like a prisioner.
I can't open an album/folder/event alone just to take a look, without do lanch the iPhoto app with the all thousand photos together. And it's slow.
I can't use Quick Look there.
So, I'll use Finder for manage/crop/etc. But what's the best way to use iPhoto in my case? Put the best/key ones there to use in iLife/MobileMe? To do a more serious editing? I like the features: keywords/ratings/hidden photos/events... It would be cool this features in Finder.
    For example:
iMovie: Manage movies? NO. It's editng only.
iTunes: Manage music/small video/podcast...? OK. Editing the song? OK for tags/convert/artwork/equalizer... For music there's a GarageBand of course.
iPhoto: Manage photos? Yes and No.
I think Finder would kill iPhoto incoporating all the editing features in Preview and the rich manage in Finder.
Jobs said that no one care about iDVD anymore. They care about the web.
Using iMovie to export to MobileMe.
Maybe iPhoto become less important in a near future. With a better Finder+Preview Right?
Sorry for this long text with a short question.
    Thanks.

Your post demonstrates exactly why I keep saying that iPhoto is not the application for you.
It would be better an iPhoto organizing photos by words like when iTunes browse his music.
Why on earth would anyone want to organise photos by words? A list mode is entirely pointless in a Photo application. That's like having an old photo album organised with the photos facing inwards so you can read the back of the picture.
Again, this is a characteristic of a File browser. You don't want a Photo organiser, you want a file organiser.
And, in iPhoto, you can search by tags, effortlessly in either the search box or by using a Smart Album.
iPhoto always loads all that events and all the thumbs library to scroll, and I think it's overkill.
So, how is iPhoto to know which ones you want to work with today? Open a library, get the Library.
Would be better a Cover Flow option to browsing in Events.
You've obviously never tried scrubbing along the Event icon.
Imagine iTunes using Cover Flow mode all the time. It won't be too useful.
Many, many people do, including myself on a library of 20k tracks totalling more that 100 gigs, and find it very useful. Same with the Finder.
And if when iTunes Store starts to sell photos?
Why on earth would the iTunes store start to sell photos?
    My photos are not junk,
I didn't say there were. Read my post again.
When I said Finder to crop photos I mean Preview. But I feel in Finder. Because what's in Preview? A photo opened with a Preview's menubar and some cocoa APIs like adjustments. Not?
Oh, so you don't count Preview as an application. Fine. It is an application but you don't feel it. As you wish.
My point to you is very simple: Because of the way you want to organise your pics - using lists views and so on - iPhoto is not the application for you. Don't use it. But you keep writing things about the application that are untrue, and I'm aware that other folks search these forums and I don't want them to have inaccurate information about iPhoto.

  • I need help understanding how the Apple components integrate to create a system across all my devices?

I need help understanding how the Apple components connect to create a whole system across all my devices?
Is there a resource that describes current system and associated functionality?
    For example:
    Buy A, B, C to achieve "X"
    You will need:
an internet provider which supports <specs>
    add D to achieve "Y"
    You will need:
an internet provider which supports <specs>
    add "E" to achieve "Z"
    You will need:
an internet provider which supports <specs>
For example, I am looking at the Gen 6 Airport extreme.  For intended performance do I need broadband? if so what are the specs, or will basic internet service suffice?  Do I need the internet provider's modem or does the Airport extreme replace that?  And then I think, if I am doing this, I should also look at Apple TV....What do I need and Why?  Then I look at the New Desk top coming out in the fall, and I think well, if I wait and get this, what does this component do for the system, and what becomes redundant? What does this awesome desktop do for my ability to sit and use a new macbook air when I travel  or sit on the couch in my PJs?
If there was a place that plainly stated "if you buy the new dektop you can configure a system including only these components and achieve <this result> and by adding <additional components> you will achieve this result.
I have been to the genius store a few times, but I come out of there more confused unless I have SPECIFIC questions or already know what to buy.
A "System Configuration App" would be a really great sales tool--Just saying.

I have no idea what "fully optimized" means.
No Apple device will let you watch broadcast TV. The Apple TV is a good option for watching streaming TV from iTunes, NetFlix and Hulu. If you want to watch from other sources, you may need to look at other devices.
Any Mac computer or iPad will allow you to surf the web.
    What business software?
Time Capsule is a good option for back ups.
    Update what across all devices?
For accessing documents from all devices, a service like Dropbox is your best bet.
I have no idea what "step as far away from an internet provider as possible" means. If you want Internet access, you need an Internet provider.
Lighting fast speed for what? Processor? The specs are listed for all devices in the Online Store. Internet? We're back to the service provider.
Technology changes. The only way to keep pace with it beyond a couple of years is to buy new stuff.
The bottom line is you need to look at the specs for devices availble and at your budget and decide what best meets your needs. If you are unable to do that on your own, there are lot of technology consultants out there who will, for a fee, look at your exact situation, make recommendations and even handle the purchase and set up. Perhaps that would be the best route for you.
    Best of luck.

  • Help needed in understanding conversion alghorithm from byte to hex

Hi, I'm studying the following code:
    public static char[] byteToHex(byte[] data) {
      char[] retValue = new char[data.length * 2];
      int value = 0;
      int highIndex = 0;
      int lowIndex = 0;
      for (int i = 0; i < retValue.length; i++) {
        value = (data[i] + 256) % 256;
        highIndex = value >> 4;
        lowIndex = value & 0x0f;
        retValue[i * 2 + 0] = hexTable[highIndex];
        retValue[i * 2 + 1] = hexTable[lowIndex];
      return retValue;
}There are few things (the most important) which I don't understand about the above code.
I understood that what's returned has got double size related to what's passed in because a char takes 16 bits while a byte takes 8.
    1) I don't understand why each byte must be first added 256 and then % with 256 (returning the same value - Is this to eliminate negative values?)
    2) I do understand that each byte is transformed in two hexadecimal values: one is the highIndex (first 8 bits) and the second is the lowerIndex (last 8 bits) and that each value is tranformed in its hexadecimal value from the array of hex values.
    3) What I don't really understand is why the highIndex is calculated as: value >> 4
and the lowest index is calculated as value 0x0f (is this last also to eliminate negative values?)
If someone could clarify this for me, I'd be very grateful.
    Thanks.
    Marco

So, does this mean that we add 256 to eliminate the sign? No. You need the whole line to convert a signed byte into an int between 0 and 255.
A simpler way to do this would be
    value = data[i] & 0xFF;
This moves down the higher bits so that it turnsinto lower bits. i.e. we need it to >be between 0 and
    15.
    Is this shifted of 4 because Math.pow(2, 4) = 16.0?Doing in this case, x >>4 is the same as x / 16
This leaves only the lowest 4 bits.Is the following what happens? There are no char values produced. Using 0000 as an example is not a good idea as you can change it in many ways and it is still 0000
    >
    Received as initial value:
    byte: 0000 0000
    What we need to obtain:
    char: 0000 0000 0000 0000
The first 4 bits of the above byte are shifted of 4
positions to find the hexadecimal equivalent (if from
2 I want to get to 16 I have to do the opposite of
powering a number by 4); The last four bits of the
byte are extracted because of the '&' operator with
0x0f (which in binary is 1111 - Therefore all the '1'
    are kept)?Yes.

  • I need to understand better, what can be done with sync and what cannot

i setup 2 windows boxes + 2 linux boxes to sync and got a mess in less than a day. apparently, i do not understand, what it does/should do, and what not.
As one having done work in distributed environments, namely in database replication scenarios, i understand, there have to be limitations, especially, as all of my 4 boxes are running most of the time.
next, i found, that copying profiles wouldnt have worked either, as the windows boxes (have to) use different add-ons/plugins compared to linux (like fireshot - to give a simple example - needed a replacement on linux). - So just moving profiles doesnt help. But the promise to catch open windows/tabs, history, and so forth doesnt seem to work either. Maybe TabMixPlus is killing the whole mechanism?
I found very detailed documentation on where to click to get it all started, but nothing about the internals nor limitations, thus being very disappointed now to find sync actually NOT working at all.
Furthermore, while setting up the whole thing, every machine had a "sync setting" as to how to use that one machine: initial distribution/sync/receiver only/and so forth. Does this only concern the initial setup? - I wasnt able to see this configuration option ever again to be able to change it after the initial setup had been done.
So i obviously need to understand better... as to me it looks like some real messy replication scenario, with not all backends sharing the same tables. And apparently adding/removing add-ons needs to get replicated manually anyway.
What time delay do i have to expect? When shall i use "Syncronize" manually? And so on...
I mean: I trusted Mozilla solution more than any other one, but it doesnt seem to live up to my expectations.
(sorry: i had to reenter the whole thing after my email address ran out)

Ok then! Thanks for answering!  Can you still transfer music over? I can't even get that to work! I have set my nephews up with no problem..obviously not a sec generation... please help again!

  • Need to understand impact on workflows during upgrade from EBP 3.0 to SRM 5

    Hello experts,
Greetings to all and a Happy New Year!!
I am new to the workflow concept, though i have a fair idea of EBP.
We are using EBP 3.0, classic scenario.  Very soon, we would be upgrading from EBP 3.0 to SRM 5.0. I have a few questions which i need to knw before I take up the upgrade part:
    1) The impact on the worflows like Shopping cart approval, purchase contract approval etc when we upgrade from EBP 3.5 to SRM 5.0...
    2) Does EBP have their own release strategies or are the release strategies defined in R/3 and applied to the shopping cart when it is ordered in EBP? As in classic scenario, POs are created in R/3, then how does the appoval process happen?
    3) What are the necessary things, if any, that I should make sure of before upgrading?
    4) Does all workflows also get upgraded or is there any tool to upgrade the workflow?
I am not clear with the approval concept in EBP. I know there are workflows that get triggered when a shopping cart is ordered but the approval process in this workflow is something which i want to understand. Please forward me a document, if possible, or a link will also do.
Please let me know the necessary details.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Ayush

    Hi Ayush,
Most workflows will be the same, but if you have modifications on these workflows' then i'd suggest reverting back to the standards for the upgrade.
Im not quite sure what you mean about the release strategy. What can be done though, is creating Purchase Requisitions in the R/3 and pass them to the SRM system. From here PO's can be created and the approval process will take place in accordance with your workflow rules in tcode: swb_cond.
Before upgrading, try to have the system as clean as possible. When i say clean, i mean make sure that users are consistent, SC's, PO's etc arent left hanging. Try to avoid carrying documents over to the new system. I'd suggest archiving anything you can too.
I don't have any documents to give you but the basic process and transactions are as follows:
SWB_COND: Your workflow start conditions. Which WF's are on/off (defined by green/red light)
SWI6: This will let you examine a document and its relevant WF by its object id. (SC No, PO No etc..
SWUD: Allows for Consistency checks on your workflow and will find any inconsistencies which are occuring. (Use Test Environment and WF Tech Name i.e 14500015)
SWDD: The workflow builder, will let you build, activate, create new version and modify the worklows in your system.
Approval itself is simply the chain of approval which a workflow is defined to follow. You need your managers to approve/reject and the conditions for which Managers should be called for approval. Its works from Possible Approvers for workitems and Excluded Approvers for workitems.
Understanding the WF log is the most essential thing of all. The understanding of BADI is quite important too.
Hope this info helps you. Check help.sap.com cause everything is documented there too!
    Cheers

  • I need help understanding export options and optimizing for web

I have been using FCP X for a short while now and have a pretty good grasp on the editing capabilities. What I'm having a horrible time figuring out is the export/share options. The videos I create are typically approximately 1 minute in length and get posted to a web site (we have our own CMS and video player so I'm not using YouTube or Vimeo or anything like that). In order to post them I need them to be MP4s and then I have to create .webm and .ogv files. The source material I work with is generally great, high quality stuff, so I end up with very large output files from the initial FCP share master file options.
When I use MPEG Streamclip to make my MP4s I end up with files that are still quite large and I can't seem to ever get the file size manageable without losing tons of quality. I do not have Compressor, though if that will solve my problem I will put in for the expense of it. What I'm trying to understand is what sorts of settings I should be trying out to get my file sizes to be manageable without completely compromising my quality. And I know this can be done, because the company I work for pays for a great quantity of video work each year (from an outside production firm) and the clips provided are beautiful in quality and small in file size -- for example, I recently worked on a video and got it into the 40MB range before quality went to crap, working off the same material the production company we do work with had theirs down into the teens and looking beautiful!
To throw an even greater wrench in the works, I am working off a mac. But when my boss, on a pc, saves the mp4s I create (raw files -- not what is posted to the web) locally on his machine and views them from there the sound is always off a tad and the people in the videos look like they're lip synching.
Any advice on either of these is MUCH appreciated. I've been trying to figure this out properly for months, and only today decided to stop seeing if someone else had the same question and just post my own.
    Bronwyn

Thank you Karsten, this was helpful I have utilized the Quality slider and the frame size options before though with limited results. I've never messed with the Limit Date Rate option as I don't know what I'm doing with it, I see you put 5Mbps. Is that a typical setting that I could use?
Using stream info, here's info on my original source file:
    Stream: Charles_0023_2.mov
    Duration: 0:00:51
    Data Size: 96.51 MB
    Bit Rate: 15.77 Mbps
    Video Tracks:
    H.264, 1920 × 1080, 29.97 fps, 15.64 Mbps
    Audio Tracks:
    MPEG-4 Audio stereo, 48 kHz, 127 kbps
    Stream Files:
    Charles_0023_2.mov (96.51 MB)
As a comparison, here's the info on a similar clip that the company we sometimes use created:
    Stream: Charles_0019_4.mp4
    Duration: 0:00:49
    Data Size: 4.66 MB
    Bit Rate: 0.80 Mbps
    Video Tracks:
    JVT/AVC Coding, 710 × 400, 29.97 fps, 635 kbps
    Audio Tracks:
    MPEG-4 Audio stereo, 48 kHz, 162 kbps
    Stream Files:
    Charles_0019_4.mp4 (4.66 MB)
I'm fine with bringing the frame size down some and modifying the limit data rate, but sometimes I feel like I'm forcing my video into something it's not and the quality suffers -- this is where my understanding of video work breaks down LOL. Any suggestions of how I can get my .mov into something like the the .mp4 above?
Also have you had any experience with mp4s not playing back properly on pcs?
    Again, thank you!

  • I need To Understand the "Type Cast Function"

    Dears,
I need To Understand How the "Type Cast Function" Work, and if you can Give me an Example it will be Apperciated
    BR
    Ahmed

In its simplest explanation Type Cast allows you to reinterpret a series of bytes. The numeric conversion functions convert from one data type to another and essentially do the same thing that Type Cast does, albeit with just numbers. Type Cast allows you to extend this to convert one data type to another, beyond just numbers. Thus, you could convert an array of 2 U8 values into a single U16 number by using Type Cast like this:
or you could reinterpret an array of lots of U8 values into an array of U16 values like this:
How you use it is entirely up to you, but it is an extremely powerful function. What are you trying to do?

  • Help needed to understand business process irrespective of SAP

    Hello all,
I am an engineer with specialization in electronics and telecommunication. The topic of RFID is thus fascinating for me hence,I have been reading SAP AII for some time now. The components of RFID like tags, readers and communication between them is known to me upto some extend but the business process that SAP AII supports/ implements/ automates are new to me because of which I miss the big picture of SAP AII.
The material I have been reading on SAP AII describes many such process e.g. goods issue, goods return, slap and Ship, logistic process etc. I find it difficult to comprehend these business processes as I think they are described mainly in jargons/ terms (jargon for me) like "delivery processing", "delivery document", "Shipping document", "handling unit", "outbound and inbound process", "goods posting" and numerous similar terms. Moreover I think the explanation is SAP specific.
I feel I should take a top down approach to understand SAP AII and for this I first need to understand the business process in generic/ standard terms. Once they are clear I guess I would be able to understand SAP RFID solution.
I request you all to guide me. Am I taking the right approach? If yes please help me understand the basic business process. Pointers to some good douments or any other resource explaining standard business process will definately help.
    Thank You

    Hi Gaurav,
You are very correct that being a technical person you find difficulty in understanding jargon terms of SAP.
Let me explain you the scenario:
There are two sides to SAP
    1) Functional - Understanding of Business Processes
    Here there are two parts:
    a) Business Process With Respect To SAP AII - These processes generally deals with RFID technology that happens in warehouses, disribution centers and are close to technological world. These deal only with SAP AII
    b) Business Process With Respect To SAP R/3 - These processes deals with SAP AII when integrated with backend systems like SAP R/3, SAP WM or other systems. These talk about the end to end scenario of RFID. Like you pointed out, delivery processing, etc.
Understanding of Core that  is part a above and a bit basics about b will be very helpful.
    2) Technical - Understanding SAP AII
Here also two parts are there:
    a) Understanding RFID as a technology with SAP AII - Deals with understaning technological viewpoints on RFID and mapping it to SAP AII. Example Devices, Tags, Device Controllers, Middlewares and their representation in SAP AII.
    Most important is above part
    b) Understanding Technological part of SAP itself - For example, ABAP, BAPI, BADI etc.
So this is how it works. You are going very correct and follow above things.
Please revert if you have any specific questions.

  • Computation points - need to understand when they trigger

    Hi,
Can anyone please assist me in understanding computation points...
I've used (Before Header - on the first instance of the page) in the application... need to understand the others (such as After Header, Before Regions, After Regions, etc...) as when they trigger and some examples of application...
    Thanks in advance

    Hello,
    >> …need to understand the others (such as After Header, Before Regions, After Regions, etc...) as when they trigger ….
Although the Computations you are talking about are part of the Page Rendering phase, it’s important to remember that they are actually triggered by the server – the APEX Engine – as part of generating the application page code. It means that these Computations are not triggered when the page actually runs on the client.
The Firing points are shared by both Computation and Processes, but are more relevant to the latter. They actually reference the different stages in generating the page code (and not necessarily the sequence of running it).
Computations allow you to set the value of page/application items. All of these are available to the APEX Engine prior to starting the rendering process, so in APEX terms they are already available in the Before Header stage, and for all the following stages. However, right now I can’t think of an example that force you to set a Computation firing point other than Before Header (as we are talking about the rendering phase, After Submit is excluded).
With Processes things might look differently, especially if we are using them to generate some dynamic code that depends on the values/existing of items or DOM elements. For example, if we want to add some JavaScript code that will close a (popup) window prior to its rendering, we should fire it before header. However, if we want to include a script that manipulates the region header title, it should be included before the APEX Engine code for that region, so we should choose a firing point of Before Region. Relying on the same logic, if we need to generate a script that uses DOM elements that are only created with the region, we must append it after the code for the regions, so we should choose the After Region (or later) firing point.
I hope this makes things a bit clearer for you.
    Regards,
    Arie.
