Sum is showing up as an empty cell in Hyperion Financial Reporting

Hi guys,
I am using Financial Reporting 9.3.
I have a cell which represents sum of three cells [d]= [a]+[c]+[e],
[a] is an empty cell, though [c], [e] have values, [d] is showing up as an empty cell.
Any ideas to fix this???

hi,
Did you define the values for the No data as "0" and tried running the report?
Thanks!

  • Thread: In Hyperion Financial Reporting can we show comments entered in dat

    Hi,
    I want to show comments in Hyperion financial reports. The data form are against BSO cube and when users enter comments in it they want to see in reports which are against ASO.
    Also, if you can help me if it is possible against same cube?

    Hi,
    I think we can't show it in ASO, but if we have a BSO cube then we have to connect our reports with the Planning data source instead of an Essbase data source and specify on the report to show supporting detail.
    You have to do some settings in the FR_Global.properties which are:
    AllowCellTextAsAnnotation=true, the Cell Text check box on the Report Property sheet is shown (for Financial Management and Planning, not Essbase yet). The default setting will be unchecked (turned off).
    AllowPlanningUnitAnnotationsAsAnnotations=true, the Planning Unit Annotations check box on the Report Property sheet is shown for Planning. The default setting will be unchecked (turned off).
    AllowDocAttachmentsAsAnnotations=true, the Document Attachments check box on the Report Property Sheet is shown for Financial Management. The default setting will be unchecked (turned off).
    Hope this helps.

  • Cell Text Annotations of Hyperion Planning on Hyperion Financial Reporting

    Hello,
    There is a business requirement to show Cell text entered as annotation on each cells in data form to be reported using Hyperion Financial Reporting.
    Also there is a case of some of the data types being text. Some of the forms also have supporting details.
    Now I want to check how easy or difficult is it to report from Hyperion Planning V11.1.2 for the above mentioned.
    Are there any noticeable performance issues?
    Is it possible to report the cell text annotations , Supporting details & Datatype 'Text' from data form on Financial Report?
    Thanks in advance,
    XX

    I haven't used the text data type, however I have done quite a bit of reporting on supporting detail. All you have to do is use a Hyperion Planning data source instead of an Essbase data source. (and specify on the report to show supporting detail). In general, Hyperion Planning data sources are slightly slower than Essbase data sources. How much slower depends on a lot of factors, but supporting detail can certainly slow things down.
    One key limitation with reports that display this type of data is that it doesn't "roll up" the hierarchies. Your report has to be at the same level (in all dimensions) where the supporting detail was entered. So you can't pick an upper level Entity and show all of the supporting detail for it's descendants unless your report also includes the descendants. I understand why this limitation exists, but I routinely have clients that would like this functionality. (For Example - Show me all of the supporting details for the entire plan.)

  • Reporting cell comments with Financial Reporting

    Hi all,
    Is there anyway to report comments attached to cells in "Planning data forms" with Financial reporting? Which function should I be using to do that?
    I am using the 11.1.2.2 version.
    Thanks.

    I believe the functionality is <<CellText("GridName", Row, Column, Page)>> whcih retrieves planning cell comments.
    The full FR studio guide is here: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/fr_user_epm/frameset.htm?launch.html search for celltext and it will give you more detail.

  • Hyperion Financial Reporting is taking long time to show the User POV

    Hi,
    we are using the HFR (version 9.3.1.2) and when i double click on any report in the workspace it is taking 5 minutes to show me the User POV. Can any one of you let me know how to find where the issue is.
    Regards,
    VJ

    Hi VJ
    Things that I am aware of that can slow down reports are:
    1. Lots of members on the page (HFR tries to bring all the data into memory when run to speed up data display when changing from page to page)
    2. Nesting of attributes (due to dynamic nature of calculations)
    3. Nesting of dynamic calcs (similar to above)
    If you have any of the above that could be your issue although it sounds like it may be more a hardware issue than an issue with the reports themselves. Does it always take that long? even if you re-run a report that has been run before?

  • Showing Annotations in Separate column in Hyperion Financial Report with source Essbase ASO

    Hi All,
    I've a Report in FR and user has to enter the comments and the entered comments should display in Column. I'm using Annotations here and created a separate column and written formula <<Annotation(cur, cur, F, cur, Desc)>>. The comment is displaying in the column, but to see the comment / annotation one has to select View -> Annotations. Is there any way to get rid of this. With out selecting View -> Annotations option can the comments directly displays in column when user opens a Report ?
    Or Is there any other way that user can enter comments in FR ? Essbase ASO cube is my source
    Thanks,
    PVR

    I don't think there is another way for that. Did you try the pdf view?
    You can try using LRO's

  • Hyperion Finance Reports - Get previous Column value using cell function

    Hi Guys,
    In Hyperion Financial Reports, i am trying to get the value of the previous column.
    I have tried hard coding the reference of the previous column by putting Col[B] as a cell formula.
    But i need to achieve it using dynamic formula for example
    Cell(Current Row, Current Column -1)
    The above explanation is syntactically incorrect, i am looking out for the correct syntax which helps me get the value of the previous column.
    Thanks in advance.

    What are you trying to achieve? Maybe there are different ways to look at it.
    There is no function (that i'm aware of) which performs a previous column display. Why you do think that [B] when you are in C is not working?
    Have you looked at the example given in Current/Cur Keyword

  • How to get an empty cell when SUM cells are empty?

    When doing a SUM, I want the result to be blank if there are no numbers yet. In Excel, if you have =SUM(A6:A30) with empty cells, the result is an empty cell.
    In Numbers, it's a zero.
    I know you can use =IF(SUM(A6:A30)>0,SUM(A6:A30),"") to put an empty string in the cell if there's nothing to add, but this doesn't work for negative numbers.
    I tried =SUMIF(A6:A30,"count(A6:A30)>0") and it puts a zero there even if all the cells are blank, and I don't think it's correct anyway.
    =IF(SUM(A6:A30)>0,SUM(A6:A30),(IF(SUM(A6:A30)<0,SUM(A6:A30),"")))
    works, but it seems rather cumbersome.
    Is there a better way?
    Ideas?

    </div>
    Hello
    The best way I found to solve your problem is:
    =IF(COUNT(A6:A30),SUM(A6:A30),"")
    Which reads:
    if at least one cell of the range (A6:A30) contains a numeric value returns SUM(A6:A30)
    else
    returns a blank cell.
    Of course, if the sum is nil the displayed [thanks you Barry ;-)] value will be a zero.
    Maybe it's what schubladenschrank was offering but I don't read Deutsch.
    Just for info, your formula may be shorten as:
    =IF(SUM(A6:A30)=0,"",SUM(A6:A30))

  • Bex formula shows empty cell (NULL)

    Hi,
    I have a bex formula that calculate a few fields.
    sometime there is no value in it (NULL)  and effects bedly on other formulas in the query. (NULL also)
    i have tried several ways  to solve it:
    multiply with 1
    IF condition
    add and reduce 1
    but still the column shows NULL (empty cell)
    thanks a lot for helping me out
    points will be granted
    nir

    Hi Nir:
      Nulls used in formulas give Nulls as results. So you need to deal with the Nulls since the first occurrence, replace the Nulls and use another value instead.
    To evaluate if a null is present use the function "IS_INITIAL" in your formulas, this is a boolean function and therefore has the return values TRUE and FALSE.
    Unfortunately the function "IS_INITIAL" is not available for BEx queries, you can use it on transformations while loading DataTargets.

  • Dimension member values not showing (just empty cells)

    Hi,
    I have an organization dimension (Business > Business Unit> Department > Account) and a single fact (Dollars) on my test repository. When I add my fact and any dimension level to an answers report I can see for example two empty cells for each member at the "Business" level and the result of my fact calculation. I've tried many ways to attempt solving this issue from aggregating my data to compressing all the dimension in a single table and still haven't had success. I also turned on logging and found out that the physical layer SQL being generated returns the correct values when I run it in my query tool.
    Has anyone experienced similar behavior? I'm not sure if I skipped a step on my modeling or this is a bug in my OBIEE installation
    Thanks a lot!!
    -Ignacio

    Had this problem when source datatype was nvarchar and the field was coming over as varchar with a length of 0 in the physical layer. Check your physical table definitiion to see the length of the fields that are empty for you, may have to change it to an appropriate value

  • Dreamweaver Developer Toolbox - Show border on empty cell using Horizontal Looper Wizzard

    Hello,
    I just applied a horizontal looper, 3 columns, unlimited
    rows. Works nice. One question however. On the last row, my
    recordset does not have data for 3 columns, thus, the 2 cells on
    the right is empty, as it should be. But my table has a border, and
    because there is no data in the cells, including a " ",
    there is no border on that cell. Cosmetically is looks like a
    problem, even though all else is correct.
    How can I get a border on that last 2 empty cell, bottom
    right? I tried adding a "&nbsp" before almost all the
    "</td>", but still could not get the border on that empty
    cell.
    I'm using ASP VB Script

    Reinstall ADDT was the key I was able to finish the tutorial

  • BSP HTMLB TABLE - BORDERS FOR EMPTY CELLS

    Hello Colleagues, I'm new to BSP HTMLB, maybe someone could help me.
    I’m taking data from a DB table through select and there are a lot empty cells.

    <htmlb:tableViewColumn columnName="PK_Terms"
    <%--wrapping="true"--%>
    width="50"
    horizontalAlignment = "center"
    verticalAlignment = "middle"
    fixedColumn="true">
    </htmlb:tableViewColumn>
    THE BORDER does not APPEAR in empty cells (the table looks horrible), how can I make it appear?

    Hi,
    If the cell is initial pass the   then it will shows the border like when the data is not initial.
    i have got this in my requirement.
    if it is not shows the any cell pass <border=1>

  • How to resolve merge empty cells JS error

    Hi Scripters
    I am new to scripting and now looking into it.
    I am trying to write a table script for that, I found one merge empty cells JS from Jongware GfBROo
    table = app.selection[0];
    if (!(table instanceof Table)) table = table.parent;
    if (table instanceof Cell) table = table.parent;
    if (table instanceof Table)
         for (r=0; r<table.rows.length; r++)
              c = 0;
              while (c < table.rows[r].cells.length)
                   while (c < table.rows[r].cells.length &&
                        table.rows[r].cells[c].contents.length > 0)
                        c++;
                   while (c < table.rows[r].cells.length &&
                        table.rows[r].cells[c].contents.length == 0)
                        table.rows[r].cells[c].merge (table.rows[r].cells[c-1]);
    Even though for almost tables it's working like charm but in some of the cases it's falling me in trouble by showing this error "Object is Invalid" at bold face line.
    Though I can guess some problem wolud be with those tables but I am not able to catch it.
    Could any one any way suggest me to resolve this error.

    Thanks for reply Loic_aigon
    As Marc suggested in discussion, I used
    myTable.rows[r].cells[c].characters.everyItem().contents.length > 0
    But above syntex falls script to infinite loop.
    any other help will be appreciated.
