Summary Report by Cost Element/Cost Center.

Hi SAP Experts,
Could you please help me in generating the following report.
I/Customer need the cost center + the cost element + the dollars + the quantity (SKF) + the currency - in the same report.
Could you please tell me from which table I need to retrieve the above fields.

The customer wants summary report by Cost Element i.e
SKFActual(SKF Qty)Cost CenterCostElementDollars+Report Currency.
First 2 fields (SKF+Actual - SKF Qty) we got from S_ALR_87013611 report. Then we double clicked on SKF then it will take to KSB1 transaction code(as said by you) there we got the rest of the fields.
Currently we are developing the same Custom Report but it should show by summary i.e by Cost Element.
Could you please tell me what Tables and Data types we need to refer?

Go to GRR2. Double-click on the row All Values under Cost Elements/Costs Centers. Remove cost center in the pop up screen and click on the check mark to continue. Now, create another column for the cost center. Bear in mind that, you can only do this in the copy you created.
Please disregard my earlier suggestion. Because if you do, it will change the whole format of the report and will not produce a suitable result.

Forecast for planning over the Cost element/Cost center with KP06

Hi all
I'm searching a idea: one of our chief controller need to insert a "forecast" of budget inserted over the various cost elements/cost centers using the transaction KP06. THe problem is that he don't want lost the budget because he can need the reload the previous budget data during the year if the actual situation change. Obvisiously the insertion of the forecast overwrite the budget data over the version 0. This forces us to download over a file the budget and archive it, and reload it eventually. But this solution, a part the programming effort, don't permit to have both the data at the same time in the system. Exist a pratical customizing solution in CO for manage a "forecast"? Our release is 46c.

Can you explicate me these concepts (or the transaction used for make this, probably I know this but in italian the name is different)? The KP47 copy the value over the single cost element or only the total of cost center?

Are you sure? The KP98 have the description "Copy by actual version to planned version", the KP97 "copy from planned to planned"

in controlling secondary cost element cost is it considerble for financial reporting requirment. In controlling for pm orders based on planning in kp26 they are booking man hours activity price. when at time of confirm of the order planning converted to actual.
Client is giving activity price based on primary cost, when we plan the activity price It will double booking what we incured in primary cost. let me clarify for financial report requirment can we consider secondary cost or not

Secondory cost is a re allocation of Primary cost. It should not be considered if you are considering primary cost. Secondary cost is used for analysis and should not be confused with Primary cost
Ex. Cost gets collected to cost centers, The activity is a carrier which carries cost to Process/ production order. So that doent mean that the cost is gernerated twice once you book the financial and second when you acutally allocate the cost.
In controlling we allocate the cost in a more meaningful way to get the required analysis which will support the decision.
So both the cost should not be considered

It would be better if you could get in touch with your ABAP guys and ask them to help you out in this. Else you could search the internet and you will find lot of links that explain LSMW step by step.

Cost element is Classification of the organization's valuated consumption of production factors within a controlling area.
Each cost element corresponds to a cost-relevant item in the chart of accounts.
Primary Cost element & Secondary Cost element.
Primary cost elements are like materail costs, personnel costs, energy costs... where a corresponding GL account exists in FI..to allow costs to flow...
Secondary cost elements are like production costs, material overheads, production overheads, they can be created and administered in only CO. These are used in internal cost allocation, overhead calculation, settlement transactions., it does not flow to FI...
I don't think there is any link between Cost element and Work Center.

If you are on New GL - Then FAGLFLEXT (Totals table)
If not - Then GLT0 or tables startng with GLT*
You can also use reports FBL3N and subtotal on Cost Element/Cost Center

Report Writer Issue - Revenue Cost Element - After Upgrade.

Hello ,
   After upgrade some of the report writers are not pulling up all the plan data.
   I found out that the revenue cost elements (cost element category - 11) are not being pulled by
   report writer in ECC 6.00, where it used to pull them in 4.6C. These postings were done to
   our budget version using KP06.
   These revenue cost elements postings are not stored in COSP. I dont have any idea in which tables
   they are stored.
   Does anyone have any clue about this.

Its a report writer report developed here..(not standard one)
The cost center is a revenue cost center. So when we post our revenues we post it to this revenue cost center.
The issue is in 4.6C env it used to pull this data, but in 6.00 it is not pulling.....

Deriving cost center from primary cost elements

Hello CO Experts,
For few types of cost, we want to derive a cost centre when we enter a particular GL account in financial posting.
Does anyone know if there is a way to link a primary cost element to more than one cost centre?
The CE master data has only one cost centre field in the default acc assignment tab.
I have two possibilities:
- enhance the master data by additional fields eg. cost center group
- is there some sort of derivation for primary cost element / cost centre?
NOTE: We are not using activity types and are talking only of primary cost elements.

External object (object type K) from Controlling which represents a clear origin of costs.

Use

Structure

Primary Cost/Revenue Elements
A primary cost or revenue element is a cost or revenue-relevant item in the chart of accounts, for which a corresponding general ledger (G/L) account exists in Financial Accounting (FI). You can only create the cost or revenue element if you have first defined it as a G/L account in the chart of accounts and created it as an account in Financial Accounting. The SAP System checks whether a corresponding account exists in Financial Accounting.
Examples of primary cost elements include:
· Material costs

Secondary Cost Elements
Secondary cost elements can only be created and administrated in cost accounting (CO). They portray internal value flows, such as those found in internal activity allocation, overhead calculations and settlement transactions.

Integration
Cost elements in Controlling (CO) are closely related to the general ledger accounts used in Financial Accounting (FI). This is because the SAP System is structured as an Integrated Accounting System:
Cost elements document which costs (differentiated by category) are incurred within a settlement period, and in which amount. They provide information concerning the value flow and the value consumption within the organization. Cost Element Accounting and Cost Center Accounting/Internal Orders are closely linked in the SAP System. Each posting to an account that is also a cost element, is assigned either to a cost center or order. This ensures that at period-end the data is subdivided by cost elements and cost centers/internal orders for analysis purposes. The following section describes how you can subdivide and characterize cost elements in the SAP System.
Cost element characteristics depend on the controlling area and the allocation methods used in your organization.

Can we use FAGLFLEXT totals for cost center-cost element totals?

I would like to extract data out of our sap ECC 6.0 for our data ware housing system. We have cost center and profit center as scenarios. Now my question is , Is it advisable to extract cost element-cost center totals from FAGLFLEXT or is it better to get the values from COSS?.

I think you're better off using a combination of COSP and COSS since changes in a cost center's balance due to CO internal allocations within the same company code will not reflect in FAGLFLEXT.

Hi Gayani,
Another way to set default values in running report is by using User setting t-code RPC0.
Execute the RPC0, then on Basic Data tab, you can define any parameter such as:
- Report Object: Cost Center Group or cost center value
- Cost Element: Cost Element Group or Cost element value
You can also define default value for Planning report, Reporting Period, Report currency, and other setting.
This setting apply for all SAP standard report.
