In our senario _ cost is booking cost centers and revenues booking concern profit centers .
for Financial reporting requirment can I include secondary cost to profit and loss a/c
what is the impact on the report
exp: salary booking in primary cost,than Per hour man hour cost computed by costing dept for allocate to concern department
it is cost center activity price we specify in kp26 at the time of pm order confirm it will confim the activity quandity price will from planning area only,  so for salaries in primary g/ls already captured, if we consider secondary it may double booking

    Secondory cost is a re allocation of Primary cost. It should not be considered if you are considering primary cost. Secondary cost is used for analysis and should not be confused with Primary cost
    Ex. Cost gets collected to cost centers, The activity is a carrier which carries cost to Process/ production order. So that doent mean that the cost is gernerated twice once you book the financial and second when you acutally allocate the cost.
    In controlling we allocate the cost in a more meaningful way to get the required analysis which will support the decision.
    So both the cost should not be considered

    I am in port Implemetation as per their senario financial reports based on cost center hierarchy,
    for minisrial report requirement, they submitting Operational wise nothing but cost center heirarchy wise
    for Pm order settlement Man hour cost based on kp26 computed cost converted actual at the time of confirmation. At the time of settlement to concern cost center is debited but primary cost booking for (man hour) salaries not deducting the primary cost element. Here is salaries and manhours both is apprearing in the cost center. My client requirement is based manour activity cost deducted in salary primary element, they want that process. After Order settlement based on amount we can deduct concern intial cost booking cost center to Order settle cost center.
    Please suggest and PM order cost affect in cost center in primary booking and after order settlement
    Please anyone resolve my issue

    when we settle PM order Activtiy cost (Manhours) based on the salaried booked in primary cost element,we assume per hour man hour cost and specify in kp26 based on the activtiy cost planning system picks cost and at time of order settlement it will settle concern cost center.
    intially we booked salaries in primary cost not thing but salaries a/c and once again we are settling the same salary assumption cost to cost center ...
    when we go  for cost center report Initial salary a/c booking Administrative cost center and now production cost center with activity cost with secondary cost element ....so problem is both cost centers are debiting for the same salaries( activity cost) but my client want cost center  report all including primary and secondary cost element total balance.
    Please resolve my problem it very critical

    salaries cost booked in administrative cost center with primary cost element salary a/c
    but Activity type man hour is meant for per hour salary cost. we can specified in kp26
    so when we take cost center report, we get salary amount and activity cost in admin cost center and product cost center for the same salary amount... for financial report requirment, if we use cost center report the salay amount appeared twice.
    Please explain the activity cost against salay amount ..

  • Datasource for financial reporting structure

    Hello,
    I am extracting data from several finance datasources (FINGLAU*) to an external BW system. For several reporting requirements I need an extract of the so-called Financial Reporting Structures, which are effectively hierarchies of GL-accounts.
    I have found a way to manually save these structures to an Excel-file through the Business Configuration work center. However I would like to automate this process by extracting these from a data source but I as of yet I have not been able to find one.
    Does anyone know of a datasource to extract these structures?

  • Defining default value for financial reports display in the workspace (9.3)

    Hi
    I need to change the default value for financial reports workspace preview mode, for every workspace user. It is actually set on html, and I would like to have pdf instead.
    This option can be changed when logged on the workspace, in file->preferences->financial reporting->default preview mode. However I want every user to start with the right settings, so they dont have to change anything manually.
    I have tried to do it with Shared Services : under projects, BI+, assign preferences. From there I can change the default folder and the start page (the general preferences), however I cannot find the options for financial reporting.
    Is there a way to change these values with hyperion tools ?
    If not, is it possible to change it directly in the repository DB ?Thanks and best regards

    We looked at this about 2 years ago - from memory, you can only set preferences when the users are first setup in Shared Services, under the manage preferences section of the wizard.
    I can't remember if there is a settings file you can edit for the default users - i think there is, but again this must be set before users are set up.
    We looked at changing users preferences, but gave up on the idea as all users had been provisioned already :-(

    You could do the email setup through the configuration utility by selecting the Foundation ->Configure Common settings.

  • Forecast for planning over the Cost element/Cost center with KP06

    Hi all
    I'm searching a idea: one of our chief controller need to insert a "forecast" of budget inserted over the various cost elements/cost centers using the transaction KP06. THe problem is that he don't want lost the budget because he can need the reload the previous budget data during the year if the actual situation change. Obvisiously the insertion of the forecast overwrite the budget data over the version 0. This forces us to download over a file the budget and archive it, and reload it eventually. But this solution, a part the programming effort, don't permit to have both the data at the same time in the system. Exist a pratical customizing solution in CO for manage a "forecast"? Our release is 46c.

    Are you sure? The KP98 have the description "Copy by actual version to planned version", the KP97 "copy from planned to planned"

  • How to use Adobe Distiller in Win 2k8 server 64-bit for Financial Reporting

    We need to use the Adobe Distiller in Windows 2008 Server SP2 OS for generating PDF reports in Financial Reporting. However, the Adobe Distiller installation recognises the OS version i.e. 32-bit or 64-bit and installs itself automatically.
    Now, the problem is that Hyperion Financial Reporting supports only 32-bit version of Adobe Distiller. Has anyone faced a similar issue or can anyone provide some lead into this?

    The version is 11.1.2.0
    When we were unable to print the PDF reports, we raised an SR during which it was informed that
    only 32-bit version of Adobe Distiller is supported. This can also be due to implied dependency. As
    per the support matrix, if we use Win 2008 SP2 as the OS, only 32-bit binaries for FR is supported.
    Hence, it implies that only 32-bit Adobe Distiller might be supported for generating PDF output.

    could not enable any relevant MIME types, so I guess it is not possible, right?
    or can I enable FR MIME types somehow?

  • PDF preview in workspace not working for Financial Reporting

    I have an issue in workspace with doinga PDF preview on a Financial Reporting report. PDF preview works fine via workspace but only FR has the problem, here is the error that is displayed. I am running FR server on AIX and the print servers are on windows platform. We have two installations pointing to same windows box for print server. The 1st if FR for HFM running all on windows, the 2nd is FR on AIX for an Essbase installation. The HFM FR install works great via workspace but the the 2nd produces the following error:
    Error 500--Internal Server Error
    From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
    10.5.1 500 Internal Server Error
    The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request.
    We made the port for the print server static(it is normally dynamic) so we could open the firewall port to the print server and have verifed it is open.
    Does anyone have a suggestion of what could be producing the Internal Server Error. I should mention that we use Weblogic for the web deployment of workspace if that should have any bearing on the issue.

    Firewall issues were preventing this problem.

    The issue might be with some unknown hostname updated in the HSS registry.Not sure whether you have resolved it already but checking the registry.log file in the config logs folder would be a great way to start.

    The customer wants summary report by Cost Element i.e
    SKFActual(SKF Qty)Cost CenterCostElementDollars+Report Currency.
    First 2 fields (SKF+Actual - SKF Qty) we got from S_ALR_87013611 report. Then we double clicked on SKF then it will take to KSB1 transaction code(as said by you) there we got the rest of the fields.
    Currently we are developing the same Custom Report but it should show by summary i.e by Cost Element.
    Could you please tell me what Tables and Data types we need to refer?
