Sun JRE 1.6.0_11 accesses internet while installing, prompting proxy dialog

I'm trying to automate my Sun Java 1.6.0_11 (jre-6u11-windows-i586-p.exe) installation through the use of an MST transform (though previously was just using public properties passed on the command line). Every time I install I am being prompted to log into my corporate proxy to access a webpage. In the log file, it stops after PostInstallComplete to access the internet, and continues when I cancel or enter my information. This is a problem because I need to distribute this install via SMS and can't have any user interaction.
I have tried setting the following properties to disable this:
OPENJAVAHELP=False
LAUNCHBROWSER=False
NEEDIERESTART=0
FIREFOXRESTART=0
SDKSILENT=1
Addtionally, passing all of the above with /qb-! does nothing to suppress this. I can provide logfiles and more details if anyone thinks they may have an idea as to how to stop this. Also curious to hear if anyone else has run into this problem.
Windows XP SP2
No previous versions installed
Running from EXE (tried extracting MSI but requires Data1.cab which does not seem to be anywhere in the extracted files)

In my case I do not want to delete or stop the threads. I want to create one but the threadgroup in which it should be created is allready disposed.
I suppose this is because the way we used the applet was more a hack than a proper implementation. The moment you leave the page with the applet the applet destroys itself. Before version1.6.0-10 it did continue working (because of our suspicious sleep we build in the applet). This 'hack' left our applet alive even when the page where it was started was changed.
In your case I suppose it is better to close your threads, like close all windows and leave :-). I suppose your threads are still running when the applet leave and destroys his main threads. Your still running threads crash after the main one closes. I thought that the main thread kills all his childs but that is not allways the case. I am no so strong in that thread thingy so be carefull with my assumptions. That is also why I ask a little explanation of how it to understand what we did wrong.
Thx for the update

  • Help needed to access internet while roaming

Hi, I m new to this community and do not know properly how to get support. I have I pad mini with retina display, WiFi & Cellular, 32 GB, OS: iOS 7.1.2. To use internet I have taken Vodafone SIM (UP, West, India) which is a handmade nano SIM. I am able to use internet facility when present in home circle. However, when I visit to other states I can not access internet (even after the setting change as a roaming). Whenever I open the browser, message comes on screen "Could not activate cellular data network" or "You are not subscribed to a cellular network service". In this connection I contacted ISP (Vodafone), but they say there is no problem with ISP and suggest me to contact Apple. I made contact with apple too. They made all the heat and trial with the setting but the result was the same. Finally they say this problem could be because of hand cut nano SIM and suggested me to get factory cut nano SIM. I am still having hand cut SIM. I request all of you to help me in this regard so that I could use internet while traveling.
    Thank you
    Arun Verma

Get a factory cut nano sim as Vodaphone suggested. The handout sim seems
to have a problem. Is there some reason you don't want to follow the suggestion
    you have been given?

  • Problem accessing internet after installing Lion

    Hello,
I just installed Lion to my Mac (Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3), and somehow I now seem to have trouble accessing internet. I use Wi-fi, and the actual connection with our internetprovider works just fine (we have other computers in the house, and have not experienced any trouble with them). When I want to use internet I have to go to the network panel, click on "help me", and run a diagnostics. After that, I have no problem assessing internet.
I am SO sorry I am not able to explain my problem any better in english, but I do hope someone can help me sort this out, as it is most annoying.
    Hopsi Daisy

Sorry, my bad for not explaining good enough!
When I start the diagnostics, the networkstatus on my left indicates with green dots that everything up until networkprovider is OK (Wi-Fi settings and network settings are all green)
Networkprovider is marked with a yellow dot, and internet and servant (? - not sure of the english word here!) are both red, indicating they do not work.
I then run the diagnostics, no problems encountered, and I am up and running. It does not say what the problem is, nor do I get any indications that something is wrong when trying to access internet in the first place (other than that it will not let me in to the pages I am trying to visit)
This happens everytime I for some reason restart the computer, or if I have been offline for a while (e.g. throughout the night). No problems once I am online.
Never had any such problems until I installed Lion.

  • Disk Access Failed while Installing Solaris Container.

I have setup 5 guest domains together with the Control Domain.
    $ ldm list

    identity active -t--- 5002 4 4G 0.1% 1h 2m
In each of the guest domain, I plan to install a number of Solaris Containers to run different applications. While installing one Solaris container (zoneadm z <zone name> install) in dmz domain, I start the installation/configuration (either zoneadm z <zone name> install or zlogin C <zone name>) of another Solaris container in identity domain. Everything starts OK until half way I get an error message as follow:
Jun 13 18:33:16 dmz vdc: NOTICE: [1] disk access failed.
The installation of the Solaris Container in dmz halts as soon as I see the message above. Nothing will work except a force stop in the Control Domain using ldm stop f dmz and restart.
What happen to the Solaris Container installation/configuration in identity domain? It either continues the process without error or fails with the same error message shortly after. For example,
Jun 13 18:33:24 identity vdc: NOTICE: [1] disk access failed.
The vdisks for each guest domain are setup by following the steps on section Using ZFS Over a Virtual Disk in LDoms 1.0 Administration Guide. Each guest domain is booted from a disk image in the Control Domain and has two 9GB data vdisks (mapped to two physical 9GB disks on A5200 disk array) running ZFS striping. Each guest domain vdisks are serviced by a separate vdisk server.
    Any idea?

I am not sure if multiple virtual disk servers are officially supported under current LDoms release.
I had tried using only one virtual disk server. The same problem exhibited. I thought may be the vds was not able to keep up with the virtual disk I/O. That's why I setup multiple vds.

  • Error: 0x80040707 - Access Denied while installing itunes +ipod messed up

Yesterday morning my ipod (nano) was working fine, and i plugged it in to upload music and it said something about installing a new version of itunes on my ipod. i clicked yes, and somewhere during installation i assume, it got unplugged by one of my family members wanting to use a USB outlet. well, it deleted everything on my ipod, and then it wouldnt recognize my ipod in itunes.
i went to the site, did all the restore, restart, retry, crap until i got to reinstall. when i try to reinstall itunes, or remove "ipod for windows 01 -09-06" [not sure about that date] i get "Error: 0x80040707" in a popup window, then another saying "Access Denied"
Before i tried to reinstall itunes, it still wouldnt recognize my ipod either. when i plugged it in, it would say "removable disk: f" like it was just a usb memory stick or something. i really have no idea what to do as i am new with the whole itunes stuff, and have previously used musicmatch.
    thanks

Hi there...grrr...I always hate this type of error because sometimes it is problematic to fix.
First off, remove iTunes and Quicktime and do a nice, fresh clean install. Save it to your harddrive and install it from there instead of running the installation over the internet.
Also, try this as it has helped a few with this particular bug
    1. Run the setup program and PAY ATTENTION to the folder where you are installing the software. Keep clicking on the "Next" button and here it is, the progress bar.
    2. When the progress bar reaches 100% and you get the 0x80040707 error message, DO NOT click "Accept" or "Ok" or whatever says the button in the error window. Instead proceed as I describe:
    3. Go to the the folder where the program is supposed to be installed. Yes, it's there!. Copy this folder to another location (for example, to the desktop).
    4. Now click "Accept" or "Ok" in the 0x80040707 error window. This will erase almost every file in the folder where the program was originally installed. Who cares? You have a copy of it.
    5. Now overwrite this almost-empty original installation folder with the one you back-upped.
    6. If you want you can even create manually a shortcut of the EXE file that launches the software wherever you like. Double click it.
Let me know if it helps. Anyone else with a suggestion, feel free to throw it out.

  • Inability to access internet after installing 10.4.6

(I also posted this in the OS forum) I upgraded to 10.4.6 from 10.4.5 yesterday, and am unable to access the internet through my cable modem (ethernet) or airport. Nothing is wrong with the modem or the wireless router (Linksys) -- my G4 Powerbook says it is accessing the internet through the wireless router -- so I am assuming the problem lies in the upgrade, but the network diagnostic tool is no help in trying to fix this problem. I reinstalled 10.4.4 trying to get around this problem, but it still persists. Any ideas?

  • WUSA error 5 0x80070005 Access Denied while installing KB2992611 & KB3003743 on Win 7

I'm having a well known problem while patching Windows 7 SP1 x86 systems, but none of the common fixes have worked. I'll use KB2992611 for examples throughout, but the exact same behavior is being seen with KB3003743.
Logged in as an admin and running an elevated command prompt, I try to install the patch as follows:
    wusa.exe C:\Temp\Windows6.1-KB2992611-x86.msu /quiet /norestart
The event log shows a 0x80070005, Access Denied from WindowsUpdateClient, but nothing else interesting. If I remove the
/quiet switch or just double-click the .msu, the graphical installer gets through the "Initializing" phase, but then says "The following updates were not installed:" and lists the patch.

I am having this issue on multiple (near-) identically configured hardware from Dell & Fujitsu, so it is not just one flakey device. The systems are locked down via local GPO and run custom applications, so there is a chance that something wonky and
specific to my environment is causing this, but I'm out of things to check and try, so any ideas would be appreciated. Additional info available upon request.
    Thanks

    Hi,
I recommend you to follow these steps to have a fix.
    1.Rename the SoftwareDistribution folder.
Open an administrative Command Prompt window.
Run the following commands, and press Enter after each command:
         Net stop wuauserv
         cd %systemroot%
         Ren SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
         Net start wuauserv
         Try to install updates again.
2.Run this Troubleshoot tool to have a check.
    To run the tool:
Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Troubleshooting\System and Security\Windows Update
3.When you are installing the update, please log in the machine as an administrator. Meanwhile please turn off the antivirus software temporarily to install the update.
    Best regards

  • Is there a way to be able to activate our Adobe product while behind a proxy ?

This issue concern not only Captivate 6 but all our Adobe product Familly, wa are having hard time answering calls to our users asking to activate their software but being unable to do so.
The program won't acces the internet while behind a proxy (we are using a proxy pac), it is unacceptable to not be able to activate a software when behind a proxy.
    Please advise.

    Hello,
Well we already found that answer somewhere on a forum, I guess you mean add the URL to firewall exception,
but this doesn't fit Company Security Standard, in my company we cannot allow a computer access internet
directly exception or not, it is very sad that a company such as Adobe is not able to produce a tool that is
Proxy Aware for all it's functions (Software activation, Software Serial Checking etc. all doesn't behave the same way).
We need a solution ASAP as many of our users are not able to use their Adobe Softwares.

  • How do I setup my Time Capsule (3rd Generation) to be accessed from the internet while I'm traveling?

How do I setup my Time Capsule (3rd Generation) to be accessed from the internet while I'm traveling? It is installed on my home network behind my TWC broadband router.

Ok.. since the TWC modem is also a router.. all configuration takes place on this box.. NONE whatsoever takes place on the TC.
There is no airport utility 7.7.3 but there is a firmware of that number for the latest AC model TC..
    Is it tall like this.
    Then it is Gen5.
otherwise it will have a firmware.. 7.6.4 or earlier and the airport utility must be 6.3 or earlier.
Open the Airport utility and give us a screenshot of the summary page.
That will also help us determine that you have the TC, which version and how it is setup.
You might want to press the edit and also give us the Internet and Network tab as they should be set correctly as well.
I have created a DDNS through DYN.com although I am not sure how to implement this into the TC.
You do not do anything in the TC.. set it up in the Ubee router.
Port forward 548 to the TC in the Ubee router.
And make sure the TC has a static IP in the Ubee router.
Overall if you find this too hard I strongly recommend you buy a product designed for remote access .. eg WD MyCloud.. they are cheap and easy peasy to setup for remote access.. by PC or Mac and since it is built outside of Apple you not bound up in Apple limitations built into all their equipment to prevent you using it the way you want.. rather than apple want you too.. eg BTMM and iCloud being the only way apple provide for access to the TC and only when it is the main router of the network.
You are fighting hard because Apple made this hard.. not easy.

  • BSOD: bad_pool_caller, while accessing Internet (youtube video, bgm, online games)

Dear all readers of this writing,
I truly want to get help or advice of solving my blue screen problem called "bad_pool_caller".
Even, I nicknamed myself as "bad_pool_caller of death" because this caused several painful experiences while playing online games. Furthermore I am just a beginner about computers, so even this small problem makes me crazy.
Let me introduce my problem and what I have done to solve this problem.
    -Symptoms
this bad_pool_caller problem does not occur in offline. I found that none of problem occurs even while playing single player games over 7 hours like Far cry3 or bioshock infinite.
Only while accessing Internet, this problem occurs.
Especially, while playing any youtube videos
even also other sort of video players, almost within 20 seconds, my computer shut down by bad_pool_caller error.
and video's buffering is extremely slow.
This is not just a Internet access problem I think, because I have another my own laptop and when I play youtube video of my laptop, it plays well.
Also, when I enter a posting linked with bgm files, and try to install and play online games like starcraft 2, same things happens.
(Although the frequency is lower than that of bad poor caller, Driver IRQL Less or equal error
pops up while playing online games.
During surfing Internet without these, bad pool caller error does not happen, so I think these three things(youtube video, listening bgm, online games) have much to do with my error.
    -What I have done
I tried to solve by myself after I found this link.
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/e5e06b4e-6ed0-4eab-80ab-56c334f924be/windows-8-blue-screen-of-death-bsod-badpoolcaller?forum=w8itproperf
I was very happy when I found this because the situation of the writer in upper link is almost same with that of mine.
As the answer written, I format my C drive(Toshiba) and install windows 8.1 full version completely and upgraded graphic drive(GTX 760) and upgraded latetest windows 8.1 beta version upgrade of Wireless lan card drive(Netgear N900).
However, you know, still this error occurs...
    -Guess the cause
I know that most bad pool caller problem arise from Hard drive and memory corruption.
But, my desktop PC is bought only a month ago and I bought quite a good SSD and HDD and Ram for playing high quality games.
So I don't think the main cause is my SSD or HDD. My graphic card is also a new one.
I suspect the cause is my network adapter, wireless lan card (USB) because this connects Internet access between my desktop PC and Louter.
I am living in University dorm and using louter using with other students together.
For getting Internet access of my desktop PC, I've bought wireless lan card (Netgear N 900) and I think this lan card causes problem such as windows 8.1 compatible
But I fully upgraded and updated lan card driver and reinstalled several times and this N900 is not bad lan card so I don't determine this is the real cause.
Here is link of my minidump record files.
    https://onedrive.live.com/#cid=CF99CE81DCA9027A&id=CF99CE81DCA9027A%21943
(most error is about bad_pool_caller, but one is about Driver_IRQL_Less or Equal)
and sorry for my poor English writing skills because I am international student arrived US only 3 months. If you have some things that cannot understand of my writing, just ask me again.
Thanks for your help in advance.

    Hi,
As you said, you have updated your NIC driver.
Did this issue happend when you used the wired LAN?
I think this is related to wireless driver.
I suggest that you try other wirless card to test this issue.

You can get Mifi devices (the iPad connects to it via wifi and they then give access to 3G networks). I've never used one and I don't know if they are available in Canada (and if so how much they would cost). If you have an iPhone then you could also use that as a mobile hotspot

Reboot your router. The phone is picking out the router address. Unplug it from power for about 15 seconds then turn it back on. While that is happening, on the phone go to Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings.

If your cellular plan/carrier allows use of the iPhone as a hot spot, yes. Verizon does on some plans, at least in my area, but I can't speak for other providers.Set up on the iPhone is in the Settings App > Personal Hotspot.

  • Arabic Characters Alef & Lam Appear Incorrect at Runtime using Sun JRE/JPI

    Hi,
We implemented Sun JRE for Oracle EBS 11i in Production on 7th Jan 2009.
We went with Sun JRE 1.6.0_07 as we faced new Broswer Minimizing Problem in IE with 1.6.0_10 and 1.6.0_11.
Now we have some issue related to Arabic Characters Alef and Lam - Doc Id 731703.1.
The solution is to use 1.6.0_11 but we can't. I would like to know if there is any work around without using 1.6.0_11.
    Thanks
    Thiru

    Hi,
We have the problem with 1.6.0_11 also.
