SUP Online cache policy

Hi,
I have a project that works, for performance reasons I want to change my Login-MBO to another cache group with the online cache policy.
When I want to generate my classes that I need to import in XCode my Login-MBO is never added. If I change the policy of the new group to on demand the Login-MBO is added.
How can you generate the correct classes for a MBO that is in a cache group with policy "Online cache policy"?

I've created an mbo with on demand cache group with cache interval set to zero, and with a personalization key mapped on the load parameter. It works, but it is very slow (12 seconds for a single request) and calls sap function module 8 times! Why?

Annoying luakit cache policy

i just switched from conkeror to luakit.and i have been messing with the settings the whole day.there are few features i want that i couldn't feagured how to get them.but one thing annoy me the most is it's cache policy.Everytime i go back in history it loads the page again.i use a browser in my phone(java phone).which has an alt.cahce option ,which caches
all the pages i ever opened in my sdcard.and i can open them anytime offline.even links console browser has a better cache policy i heard that luakit is highly configurable.so is it possible to cache all pages i visit in my hdd,and when i click on a link it first search amongst
caches then online.if not so tell me how can i make it cache like links browser..
one more thing i couldn't google is: how can i make all webpages's background,that loads on luakit,#bbbbbb instead the default #ffffff...

There is no feature or add on that I know of that does this yet. However the one feature I am seeing consistent between desktop and Firefox for Android is the about:cache page. This will give you an idea of what is stored on the cache and the offline cache. You can list the entries as well. Offline cache storage needs to be asked for access to for certain sites.
I recommend making a feature description in [bugzilla.mozilla.org]

Configure cache policy of a distributed cache

How do I configure the cache policy of a distributed cache, e.g. eviction policy, high units, expiry delay etc? Should I use com.tangosol.util.Cache instead of com.tangosol.util.SafeHashMap as the backing map of the distributed cache?

I have attached an example of the descriptor used to setup a Distributed Caching scheme. This example shows how to set up both a 'vanilla' Distributed Cache as well as how to setup a 'size-limited/auto-expiry' cache.
The 'HYBRID' local-scheme will automatically use the com.tangosol.net.cache.LocalCache implementation (a subclass of com.tangosol.util.Cache).

Write-caching policy not restored after reboot.

The problem I've been experiencing is very similar to this old one from server 2000:

After a system restart, the write-caching policy is not being saved on the server and the settings are not persistent.
The system hardware is an Intel RST express chipset, and the Intel Raid 5 Volume (Microsoft version) driver is 6.2.9200.16384 (win3_rtm.120725-1247)
are there any hotfixes available for this driver to correct the problem on server 2012?

How to enable DVM cache policy in soa suite 11G

Can someone describe how to enable DVM cache policy in soa suite 11G?. Also how can i configure the cache policy to load values to cache at server startup? I have very large DVM which i want to load to cache for faster access.

DVM cache policy is lazy load. there is no option to preload the cache with server startup currently. However this would be affecting only the first request the susequent requests are serviced from cache.

TopLink caching policy and inheritance

Just looking for some confirmation on TopLink caching policy behavior for descriptors involving inheritance.
The TopLink workbench allows me to specify the "Identity" policy advanced property for descriptor that involve inheritance (subclasses).
Subclass descriptors can have different identity policies right?
I could have some subclasses (descriptors) which I wish to use a FullIdentityMap and other subclasses (descriptors) that I wish to have a SoftCacheWeakIdentityMap?

TopLink maintains one identity map (cache) per root class. That means that all settings are shared for an inheritance tree and cannot be overridden on a per class basis.

Flex caching policy files in error?

Hello,
I am using the XMLSocket() class to send and receive XML content from a java socket program. If I start the flex applicaion before the java app comes online then I get a SecurityErrorEvent.SECURITY_ERROR - which is OK. But I have retry logic in Flex such that it will continue to try and connect (I am using a timer to retry). Trouble is that once I start the java applicaion I still get the same SECURITY_ERROR, even when the socket and policy file are available.
So it would seem that Flex is caching the URL of my XMLSocket() with no policy file, because when it first tryed to load the policy file there was no response. And it never tries to load the policy file again. Even if I try to force it with the Security.loadPolicyFile call it still wont pick it up.
My java program returns the policy file from the XMLSocket directly. Also it seems that if I stop the java program after flex has made the initial connection then the Flex applicaion can recover (so it seems that it is very importaint that flex have the policy file available the first time it is requested, as it gets cached for the life of the Flex runtime thereafter).
Seems like a bug to me... I can work arround this by ensuring the initial connection is OK before I let the user into the applicaion, but I would think Flex could fix this.

Very upset at online number policy

This new policy of automatically billing you and renewing your online number is ridiculous. I never agreed to this. Supposedly, you can opt-out by cancelling your number. This is a bum deal because I don't want to cancel before I have to. But anyway, I was going to do it so I don't run any risk of being charged for renewal. Worse yet, when I went to the "settings" link where you can allegedly cancel the Skype number, the link is broken!
All I can say is that if Skype charges me for the automatic renewal, I will definitely contest it with my credit card company.
This is a bad business practice all around.

Need to clear online cache

HI, I've cleared all synced photos from my catalog. It removed 2gb of images.,I still have 8gb filled. I want to clear/delete the 8gb. Any suggestions would be welcomed. Thank you.

Does Firefox 4 have the same cache policy as 3.6 ?

Hi, FF4 doesn't seem to cache all SWF files, like 3.6 used to. For instance, check it out for yourself on this 6.7 MB file... http://pantheondev.dyndns.org/dummy.swf No matter how many times you view the SWF file, it always loads from the server and you can never find it in about:cache... at least that's what's happening to my PC running win XP and FF4.0.1 with no caching settings changed...

UIWebView Ignores Cache Policy on the iPhone but works on the Simulator

I'm using the following line of code to retrieve a web site in a UIWebView
request = [NSURLRequest requestWithURL:myURL cachePolicy: NSURLRequestReturnCacheDataElseLoad timeoutInterval:1000];
on the simulator it does the correct thing, requests just a header to see if the content was modified (304 response).
On the iPhone it only returns 200 response no matter how many times i make the request although it should be returning 304 after the first response. anybody encounter this before?

I have a similar problem, though not quite the same.
It seems like my initial page load ("http://www.a.com/index.html") is caching fine, but then all the resources referenced from that html are not cached. I've tried a bunch of different avenues and it seems like the requests for these objects could be easily handled by the delegates for resource loading in WebView, but these delegates are not available in UIWebView...
Does anyone have a simple solution for getting UIWebView to properly cache a page and all the resoureces referenced by that page?

SUP limitations... or not?

Case 1: online applications that bypass the cache. Apparently they are not supported in native applications using message based synchronization. See [this|SUP Online cache policy; thread for more informations.
Case 2: synchronization parameters. They accumulate, and if we map them with load parameters, when a cache section associate with them expire, this section is refreshed together with the new parameter. If expired sections are many, there are many requests to the backend. Using "unsubscribe" all old parameters and all sections of the cache are removed, but the unsubscribe removes also all data in the database, which precludes the ability to work offline. Apparently there is no way to delete only the old synchronization parameters while keeping data, or make sure that after a certain period of time they are no longer valid.
Someone has an answer to these questions?

A: You do not have to use SUP if you use Gateway. GW services can be consumed by mobile devices "directly" as they are based on OData protocol as you know.
Q:What do you mean by "SUP is still recommended for things like onboarding" ? what sort of on-boarding would you be doing through a mobile device?
A: Basically any task that enables your user to access the services. For example, device registration and system access can be configured more conveniently using SUP.
Q: I would have though we could have written native code for our device which communicated via REST with Gateway to directly access the backend SAP system.
A:Yes, that is absolutely correct. But how would you manage access security and authentication then?
Q:Is there a licence fee with SUP? How is it charged? That needs to way into the equation as well. Maybe if you need full device management you can use Afaria (not sure if it can be used on its own or if you need SUP).
A: Definitely part of the equation:) This is something you will have to check directly with Sybase. I can confirm there is a licensing fee (surprised?) but the details are still murky. Yes, Afaria is a standalone product.

Sup synchronization multiple groups issur

Hi all,
I try to synchronize one group synchronization from my sup 1.5.5 project.
I have anohers mbo on diferents sync grous that I don't need sync.
When I execute the following code in java:
MYPDB.snchronize("mygroup1")
All synchronization groups has been synchronized.
Any idea experts?

I don't have any relationship between the MBOs. I should have mentioned before.
I totally understand how when we hae realationship both BAPI will get called.
The 2 BAPI MBO's are ondemand MBOs.
and also i don't see how we an use online cache policy with "findbyParameter" for BAPI MBO's.

SUP - 2 questions about the CDB (cache database)

Hi,
I have 2 questions about the cache database and the cache groups:
1 - How does the "On demand" cache group policy exactly works? I know that online cache group is without storing any data on the CDB making direct requests to de backend from the device, the DCN is based on updating from the backend, the scheduled is based on a time period, but I don't understand how the "on demand" exactly works, and why it has a time period too.
2 - Is it possible to query the cache database table to check the data that SUP has stored? How can I do this?

I posted a similar question in SUP Apps project not too long ago and Paul Horan provided this useful reply:
Create a "Sybase ASA v12.x for Unwired Server" connection profile in the Enterprise Explorer. I named mine CDB.
: Host = localhost (or whatever the machine name is)
: Port = 5200
: Database name = "default"
: User Name = "dba"
: Password = "sql"
Obviously, change the userid/password to match, if you changed them during install time.
Connect, and you'll see the "default" database displayed.
Navigate down through the Tables folder, and the first subfolder is labeled something like [#should_delete_sk ...] Start there.
You'll see a bunch of tables with the naming convention "D1" + package name + package version + MBO name. These are the cache tables for the MBOs.
