SUP limitations... or not?

Case 1: online applications that bypass the cache. Apparently they are not supported in native applications using message based synchronization. See [this|SUP Online cache policy; thread for more informations.
Case 2: synchronization parameters. They accumulate, and if we map them with load parameters, when a cache section associate with them expire, this section is refreshed together with the new parameter. If expired sections are many, there are many requests to the backend. Using "unsubscribe" all old parameters and all sections of the cache are removed, but the unsubscribe removes also all data in the database, which precludes the ability to work offline. Apparently there is no way to delete only the old synchronization parameters while keeping data, or make sure that after a certain period of time they are no longer valid.
Someone has an answer to these questions?

A: You do not have to use SUP if you use Gateway. GW services can be consumed by mobile devices "directly" as they are based on OData protocol as you know.
Q:What do you mean by "SUP is still recommended for things like onboarding" ? what sort of on-boarding would you be doing through a mobile device?
A: Basically any task that enables your user to access the services. For example, device registration and system access can be configured more conveniently using SUP.
Q: I would have though we could have written native code for our device which communicated via REST with Gateway to directly access the backend SAP system.
A:Yes, that is absolutely correct. But how would you manage access security and authentication then?
Q:Is there a licence fee with SUP? How is it charged? That needs to way into the equation as well. Maybe if you need full device management you can use Afaria (not sure if it can be used on its own or if you need SUP).
A: Definitely part of the equation:) This is something you will have to check directly with Sybase. I can confirm there is a licensing fee (surprised?) but the details are still murky. Yes, Afaria is a standalone product.

External SuperDrive DVD player fix - RESOLVED!
This solution worked for my Superdrive, which I had installed in a USB external case, so now it can play movies using Apples DVD Player App, but additional steps may be needed, as I outline below. I had removed the SuperDrive from my mid-2009 Macbook Pro 15" 2.53 ghz to install a second hard drive with Other World Computing's "Data Doubler" adapter, and mounted the SuperDrive in an OWC Value Line SuperSlim external case.
I don't know if the first two steps below are necessary, but I had done them first, because others suggested them as fixes before I found the solution in the 3rd step.
1) I installed Apple's SuperDrive Firmware Update 3.0, which is on Apple's support site at http://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT201953
2) Then I applied a fix on this page, http://www.hardturm.ch/luz/2011/10/how-to-make-the-macbook-air-superdrive-work-w ith-any-mac/comment-page-12/#comment-106449, using Text Wrangler to edit the preference file at /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist by adding code mbasd=1 between the two string values. However, that still did not resolve the problem. I left the preference file with the code “mbasd=1″ included, as outlined on that site.
3) Then, I used the fix at http://macriot.com/mcrt/?p=2294 which requires modification of some code embedded into OS X’s DVDPlayback framework; essentially replacing the words “internal” with “external”
Now my external Superdrive plays movies using DVD Player.

Mod4/Super/Windows key not working. No keycode or scancode

Like the title states my super key does not work at all. I had not used my arch install for ~one month (so no updates) but it was definitely working at that time. I recently formatted everything and started from scratch, but this time my super key does not seem to work at all. I have tried to use xev but nothing happens when either the left or right super keys are pressed. They also don't affect the output of any other keys when used together.
I'm using a logitech g110. I installed g15daemon but it did not help. My dmesg output shows that my keyboard is detected as Gaming Keyboard G110 yet still, no working super key.

No showkey won't work either. I noticed that "/use/share/X11/xkb/keycodes/evdev" on my laptop, is different than the one on my desktop. Namely my desktop's version is missing the lines setting the codes for RWIN and LWIN. I'm not at my desktop currently but adding this line may be worth a try. Don't know why they would be different in the first place.

Is this USB SuperDrive a third party drive or Apple's USB SuperDrive?
If this optical drive is Apple's own external USB SuperDrive, this only works with newer Macs that have no built-in optical drive any longer and WILL NOT work with older Macs that came with built-in optical drives.

URGENT PLEASE HELP - Source determination in Limits Carts not working

Dear all,
We have implemented SRM 4 on Server 5.0 and ECC 5 backend.
We have in our environment service masters that have been catalogued and linked to Contracts. When one raises a cart and selects one on these catalogue service items, a backend PO correctly creates and references the contract as specified in the catalog.
The problem we have discovered that if we raise a Limits order and specify the material group stipulated in the contract for a service, source determination fails to "pick up" this contract line. We are forced to enter a supplier all the time!
Also if we raise a text service line and select from "internal Goods/Services" a Service Master record and add it tothe cart, surce determination also does not pick up the R3 contract/line that matched this service. This means that when POs are created in the backend, they are not referencing any contract (no call-off)
Why is this happening? How come catalogue items linked to a service masters and contracts work and correctly and a Limits order do not?
Please help, we need to resolve this issue today.

Hi Grace,
The contracts that are created in SRM can only be refered as Source of supplies while creating shopping carts if your are working in Extended Classic scenario.
In case you want to refer the back end contracts, Info. records for creating shopping carts you have to implement classic scenario.
The standard SRM does not provide the functionality you needed where as if you want to use back end contracts for a particular product category you can implement "Controlled Extended Classic Scenario BADI " which makes the classic scenario active for that product category, there by a back end contract can be referred for that product category when ever a shopping cart is made.
Hope this makes you clear. Clarifications are welcome.

WiebeTech Super Desktop Drive not mounting in Tiger

I have a wiebetech super desktop GB external firewire drive. Originally, I used it with OSX 10.2. That was a few years ago. It worked well then.
It worked much the same with 10.3, except that when we tried to mount it, nothing worked, except it you plugged the firewire cable into the back of the iMac at just the right time: when the drive made a 'ba ba' noise.
And now with 10.4 tiger, nothing seems to make it work. Here is wiebetech's advice (note: I inserted a little note next to the steps I've tried):

Mac OS Updates
A new OS update was released and you installed it. As with nearly every OS update
Apple does, some external drives are not recognized after the update. The incidence
is fairly uncommon and the most common symptom is that the device will not mount
but the volume is visible and greyed out in Disk Utility. This means that the
device is working properly, but the OS does not recognize the volume as mountable.
Sometimes the drive does not show up at all. Now this happens to every drive
manufacturer but not to every drive. There is no discernable way to prepare for
this and no one thinks about it unless it happens to them. So now what?
The first thing to do is to see if repairing Disk Permissions with Apples Disk
Utility First Aid feature solves the problem [tried this]. If not, try Repairing the disk
with First Aid. Another possible solution is to ZAP the PRAM [tried this too]. For the older Mac
users, this is the same from the days when we manually rebuilt the Desktop and
is done with a keyboard command while rebooting. Restart your computer and hold
down the Command, Option, P and R keys. Consult the Apple web site for details.
If this does not work, then try pushing the PMMU reset button on the logic board [say what?].
Consult the Apple web site for locations of the button for your Mac. If the drive
still does not show up, shutdown, disconnect all peripheral devices and boot
from the Mac OS Installation CD. The later the OS version, the better. Do not
reinstall the OS, but when the Installer is loaded up and ready to begin, go
to the File menu and use the Disk Utility program. Connect the drive that is
having problems, then start the Disk Utility application. If you see the external
drive and it is not grayed out, you know the drive is okay. But run Disk First
Aid on it anyway. Then run it on your internal boot drive while you are at it.
When done, unmount the external drive and UNPLUG it! Then restart the Mac.
When the Mac has restarted and is running on the internal boot drive, reconnect
the external drive.
As you can see, I'm having some trouble here. Anyone have any suggestions?

Vantec Nexstar LX 3.5 Network Attached Storage NAS Enclosure
Do not bother to buy it. Waste of money and time. When I looked at it I thought that someone is copying someone elses ideas because even electonics seem to be the same as in NewerTech units. Anyway it has more problems and defective pieces are common on the market. It is also noisy as it runs fun. Why they cannot figure out that plastic enclosures will always have cooling problem while one decent piece of thic aliuminium like in MadDog, LaCie or even some cheaper enclosure may be better and not always require noisy fan. I run MadDog enclosure now with up 500GB drives in them 24x7 no fans (do not stack them and leave gaps between them if you want to do this!). Also some could figure out that radiators have their shape for reason and the idea can be implemted to some degree in enclosures too.

Kensington USB 3 Super Speed Dock not functioning

I have a Kensington USB 3.0 Super Speed Dock connected via a USB cable to my 13" macbook air (purchased in January 2014). Mid2013, 1.7 GHZ. Intel core i7. 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3. Intel HD Graphics 5000 1536 MB
Since upgrade to Yosemite the dock is not recognized by the macbook air.
I have a second monitor running through the dock and this monitor is not visible. I also have a backup drive hooked up through the dock and this does not function either since the upgrade to Yosemite.
I spoke with kensington and we upgraded the display link driver with no success.
Any thoughts on how to get my second monitor working? The first monitor is connected from DVI to thunderbolt port. The second monitor is connected from VGA to USB 3.0 to the kensington dock.

I've discovered it's not that USB 2.0 is not working. 3 out of 6 usb ports/busses seem to work properly. The other three seem totally dead. Obviously this was not the case under kernel 3.9.9-1. Downgrading to kernel 3.10.2 made no difference.
In practical terms this means that I can use my printer and access my external drive if I use the right port/bus. And I could probably work around the problem by plugging a USB hub in one of the working ports. But I would be happy to get rid of the error messages and have all 6 usb busses working as they did before...

and this is my problem:
i got in my project (myProject) MyClass class.
i wrote in another java class ,in OtherClass.class ,jni function that use MyClass object as parameter to the jni interface, as follow:

when i write the javah command line :
javah -jni OtherClass (in order to create OtherClass.h)
i always get the following error:
A required super class myPackage.MyClass could not be found.
my qoustion is how can i let the javah command line to know about the existence of myPackage.MyClass and how can i create and .h file when i using other class instance as jni function parameter in other class??

Lets define a few terms here.
Java can be a java virtual machine which is what runs when you type 'java' on the command line. It is also represented by the compiler which runs when you type 'javac'. And in your case it also is represented by 'javah'.
The class path defines where java finds classes that it needs.
In older versions of java you had to tell it where to find everything. It couldn't even find java.lang.String unless you told it were it was. Now days you have to tell it where to find stuff that you add (or where 3rd party libraries are.)
There are two ways to define the class path: a command line option and an environment variable.
A class path can, currently, have three types of things in it:
-A path to a zip file
-A path to a jar file
-A path
For example
-Path to zip file in windows: C:\mystuff\mylib\mystuff.zip
-Path to zip file in unix: /opt/system/projects/mystuff/mystuff.zip
-Path to jar file in windows: C:\mystuff\mylib\myjar.jar
-Path to jar file in unix: /opt/system/projects/mystuff/myjar.jar
-Path in windows: C:\mystuff\mylib
-Path in unix: /opt/system/projects/mystuff
Zip files aren't used as much anymore, but you should at least be aware of them.
Java uses the class path to look for classes which are stored in files. It does this by translating the class name into a file name. It uses packages as directory names and class names as file names. So in your case it would try to find a class called myPackage.MyClass in a file called myPackage\MyClass.class. It would try to find that in any zip files, jar files, in in any paths that you specified in the class path.
So java is trying to find myPackage\MyClass.class in your class path. It would try to find that in any zip files, jar files, in in any paths that you specified in the class path.
Right now your class path is probably just "." which means that if you do the following commands
cd C:\mystuff
javah -jni OtherClass
Then java is going to try to find myPackage.MyClass in the following file
.\myPackage\MyClass.class
That, because you 'cd' to C:\mystuff, translates to the following absolute path
C:\mystuff\myPackage\MyClass.class
So if java doesn't find that file then it is going to tell you that it can't find the file.
So where is your file? Let's say it is here.
C:\work\lib\myPackage\MyClass.class
So you must tell javah where the root is. Keep in mind that 'myPackage' must be part of the path. That is not optional. The root is the directory above 'myPackage'. So the root is
C:\work\lib
So now you have a path that is ready for your class path. So your javah command could look like this
javah -classpath ".;C:\work\lib" -jni OtherClass
Or using an environment variable
set CLASSPATH=.;C:\work\lib
javah -jni OtherClass
Keep in mind in the above that class path is a generic term and there can be other ways to define it. For example the Sun command "java" allows you to use "-classpath" or "-cp".

As Run chart displays values of Single result, SPC Control charts also Displays these reults with tolerance limit with Showing lines of uper and lower limit Tolerence. I have an issue while showing these lines .when i am doing result recording control charts Some times shows tolerance limit lines and some times not ? Kindly clarify me the SPC control chart process too?but my main question is that why SAP some times shows Results and sometimes not .

We are using SPC inspection chars, in results recordin it is not calulating the control limits automatically. When i click to calculate the control limits, getting the message Control limits for track 1 could not be calculated.
Can you please let me know
1) The process flow for SPC inspection results recording
2) How to get the control limits automatically for SPC inspection chars.
3) System will require some results to calculate control limts, right? So, till system calculates those control limits, how system will valuate results (will it be with specificaiton limits specified at inspection characteristics level), do we have any option of entering preliminary results so that system can control limits on bases of those results and so from very first inspection lot we have control limits for valuation?

2k classpath limitation workaround not working

I am aware of the 2k limitation in installing weblogic as win2k service. The suggested
workaround for that as per the documentation is to provide a '@filename' paramater.
But looks like it is not picking up the ''myclasspath.txt' This file is in the
%WL_HOME%/server/bin directory.

Using Photoshop CS2, I created a document that is 217 pixels wide, 350 pixels high, 8 bit RGB, with exactly 217 layers.
I can navigate up and down with one layer visible using Alt ] and Alt [, no problem.
In this case, Photoshop is set to use 100% of available memory on a 64 bit system, which means it gets 2786 MB:

I have a client requirement to maintain the BOM for finished product as a Super BOM even though the material is not KMAT material. Super BOM has got KIT materials. Based on this customer requirement only certain materials which goes in to finished product are get selected and should check the availbility of those components and it should create a planned orders and purchase reqn After MRP run.
My question is how the KIT materials are maintained in BOM?
how the materials get selected while creating a Sales order w/o usinf Variant configuration?
Does all the super BOM materials get consumed after the production confirmation?

What do you mean by KIT materials.
By the way you can still maintain material as Configurable w/o selecting material type as KMAT.
Just you need to do is select material type FERT / HALB as applicable and then maintain material is configurable check box ticked in Basic Data 2 View in material master.

Iphone 5s EU volume limiter can not be adjusted

Anyone got any ideas? When I'm watching videos or you Tube clips , my phone will suddenly lower the volume. When I check the volume limit it's up full and cannot be adjusted.
I have also checked on othersupport sites that mentioned altering the EU volume limiter but this is frozen and doesn't let me move the slider (it's at 3/4 volume) .
I've also checked restrictions but this is set to off.
Any ideas??

Thank you again for your reply. I have submitted the feature request, but if possible, could you confirm that the person you spoke with understood the problem correctly? I realized that they may have thought that the issue was that the ringer volume, not the speaker volume, could not be adjusted when the device is locked. The speaker volume is not a setting in the same sense as the ringer volume, because it can only be set using the hardware buttons, and also only while on a call. The person you spoke with might have misunderstood "speaker volume" as "ringer volume". I believe that it might still be that "speaker volume" lock-out is a bug, while "ringer volume" adjustment is the expected behavior. Again, thank you for all your responses.
