Sup2T ##show platform qos ## command

Hi everyone,
The white paper about sup2t System Architecture
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/switches/ps5718/ps708/white_paper_c11-652042.html#wp9000594
says:
By default, packets are passed through without a change in DSCP, EXP, or CoS for L2 packets or L2-classified L3 packets
However, when I see the output of the command "show platform qos" there are " CoS Changes"

1. ¿Why there are cos changes?
2. ¿What are Policing Forwards and Aggregate Forwards?
I have two C6500E (Sup2T Supervisor) in VSS mode and my config is quite similar to defaults.
auto qos default
table-map cos-discard-class-map
map from  5 to 46
interface Port-channel10
switchport
platform qos trust cos
interface GigabitEthernet1/1/6
switchport
platform qos trust cos
channel-group 10 mode active
3. ¿Could it be related to CoPP?
Thank you in advance.

The outputs of sh platform commands are not intuitive and one will need a detailed architecture knowledge including code names to decipher them. No current plans on documenting all the commands. Most needed commands are sort of documented in troubleshooting documents. Example, is the following high cpu document

  • Catalyst 3550 & 3560/3750 command 'show mls qos interface statistics'

On the Catalyst 3550 the command 'show mls qos interface statistics' will show ingress packet (or byte) counts with DSCP values. If you have policers configured then it also shows a count of packets that have been marked down to another DSCP value due to policing or any that have been dropped (obviously 'mls qos monitor dscp x' needs configuring). The same command on the 3560/3750 only shows the ingress & egress DSCP values, there is no column that shows packets (or bytes) that have been policed or dropped. Is there any command to display the same information with the 3560/3750?
Neither platform show counters when the command 'show policy-map interface x/x' is used so this won't work.
    Thanks
    Andy

Hi, I believe there is a command on the 3560 'sh mls qos interface policers' may be what you are looking for.
Here is what the command says it outputs:
To display QoS information at the interface level. This information includes:
The configuration of the egress queues and the CoS3-to-egress-queue map
    Which interfaces have configured policers
Ingress and egress statistics, which includes the number of bytes that have been dropped

  • Show mls qos interface statistics equivalent command on Cat6500 SUP720-3B?

    Hi all
Is there a command on the SUP720-3B that is similar to the show mls qos interface gi0/x statistics command on the access-layer series switches (3560 etc.)?
I'd like to see the incoming and outgoing DSCP/COS values in number of packets.
    Thx :)

    Hi,
    You can use this command:
    SUP720#show queueing interface xx
You should be able to see all that information there.
    Hope this helps.

  • 3750 - Show mls qos interface statistics

    Hi All,
Sorry if this is posted in the wrong place but can anyone shed any light on the meaning of the five columns given in the output for the following command on a 3750 ?
Show Mls Qos Interface <interface id> Statistics
    Many Thanks
    Shaun

I think that this is my first post, so I hope it will be useful ;-)
It's indeed very strange, I faced the same problem before, so I tried to check older switches, and I was able to find what these values are, for example, if You check the link :
Understanding QoS Policing and Marking on the Catalyst 3550
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/switches/ps646/products_tech_note09186a00800feff5.shtml
You will find that these five fields mean:
incoming   no_change       classified      policed    dropped (in pkts)
This is a description of the fields in the example:
Incoming—shows how many packets arrive from each           direction
NO_change—shows how many packets were trusted (such           as QoS level not changed)
Classified—shows how many packets have been assigned           this internal DSCP after classification
Policed—shows how many packets were marked down by           policing; DSCP shown before markdown.
Dropped—shows how many packets were dropped by           policing

    Hi,
Everything in my Java web start application works perfectly but, the custom splash screen only shows up when command line is used ("C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\bin>javaws -verbose http://www.xxx.eu/AcSentVivresCrus/AcSentJnlp/AcSent.jnlp"), if I use the shortcut on the desktop or in the start menu, the Java 7 splash screen shows up (tested under Windows Vista and Seven). Hi again,
    I made some researches :
    - The link in the generated shorcuts ("C:\Windows\SysWOW64\javaws.exe -localfile -J-Djnlp.application.href=http://www.xxx.eu/AcSentVivresCrus/AcSentJnlp/AcSent.jnlp "C:\Users\Arnaud\AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java\Deployment\cache\6.0\46\69c1e9ee-1f252d1a") is not the same as the one I use in the command line ("C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\bin>javaws -verbose http://www.xxx.eu/AcSentVivresCrus/AcSentJnlp/AcSent.jnlp"). Is there a way in the the JNLP file to tell how to generate shortcuts (not the icon, etc., but command line options)?
    - This sample (https://blogs.oracle.com/thejavatutorials/entry/changing_the_java_web_start) displays the splash screen when I click on the the generated shortcuts (I use Windows 7). I have copied the ButtonDemo jar file and the JNLP file on my IIS web server (Windows 2008 Server), this time the splash screen does not show up when I click the generated shortcuts but always shows up when I use the command line. Can someone tell me if it is a trouble with IIS ?
    Thanks again...

  • Is the "show interface brief" command 100% safe?

I am planning on performing a health check on multiple Cisco SAN switches. This check will be performed five or more times a day. I know that the "show" commands are usually safe commands, but I have seen instances where "show tech-support" has caused the supervisor to restart. This type of outage is not acceptable.
    1) Does anyone know of an instance where "show interface brief" has caused any kind of problem?
    2) I currently use Device Manager to perform health checks. Does Device Manager use a "show interface" command to display port states?
    3) What kind of CPU usage does "show interface brief" have on a SAN switch?
    4) Does anyone have a low-level explanation of what happens when a "show interface brief" command is executed?
    5) Is it safe to run "show interface brief" many times a day and every day of the year?

i can tell you that we run "show int fc X" every 5 minutes. We use a perl script that telnets to the switch every 5 minutes, runs "show int fc X" on specific ports, dumps output to log file on the server and then parses it for link status. This is how we monitor our DWDM links.

  • Show Service Summary - Command Details

    Dear All,
It would be nice if any one can share me the parameter details of Show Service Summary command. The 2 parameters I am confused of is "Conn" and "State Transition".
    My query is,
    1) Does Conn means the current hits to that serivce. And how long this conn value would show?
    2) What is the meaning of State Transitions? What information does it reveal?
    Please need your help.
    BR//
    Adnan

    Hi Adnan,
Here are the answers to your questions:
    1) Does Conn means the current hits to that serivce. And how long this conn value would show?
The "Conn" counter shows the amount of connections currently active on that service. It will be updated as soon as connections are added/removed from the flow table.
    2) What is the meaning of State Transitions? What information does it reveal?
This indicates how many times the service changed state since the last time the counters were cleared. It will be incremented every time a service moves from "Alive" to "Down" or the other way around
I hope this answers your questions, but if you need further clarification, just let me know
    Regards
    Daniel

  • About the output of "show dot11 associations" command.

    Hello.
I have been made to the research of IP Phone 9971 . (Used by Wireless)
The schematic diagram is shown below.
      CUCM

      L3-SW
          |
      AP 1142 (FW:15.2(2)JB)
          |
      CP-9971 (FW:9.3(2))
The results of the "show dot11 associations" command are output as follows.
    ap#show dot11 associations
    802.11 Client Stations on Dot11Radio0:
    SSID [XXXXXX]:
MAC Address   IP Address      Device          Name                      Parent       State

I'm using the IP Phone 9971 (not CP-7925).
But the output of "show dot11 associations" command, has become "CP-7925" on Device.
What Is this by Design? Will it bug or?
Thank you very much in advance.

    Hi, Kayle
    Thanks a lot for replay.
I am using an autonomous access point.(AP 1142)
Device firmware is the latest version.
      (AP 1142 : 15.2(2)JB  ,  CP-9971 : 9.3(2))
As with you, I'm guessing that the access point does not recognize the CP-9971 device, too.
I'll try to contact the TAC.
    Thank you for your support.
    Best regards,

    Hi Moe,
Sounds mostly likje a bad KB, do you have another to test with?
    Or...
One way to test is to Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, Test for problem in Safe Mode...
PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive
    Reboot, test again.
If it only does it in Regular Boot, then it could be some hardware problem like Video card, (Quartz is turned off in Safe Mode), or Airport, or some USB or Firewire device, or 3rd party add-on, Check System Preferences>Accounts (Users & Groups in later OSX versions)>Login Items window to see if it or something relevant is listed.
Check the System Preferences>Other Row, for 3rd party Pref Panes.
Also look in these if they exist, some are invisible...

  • How to call a cross platform OS command in Scenario?

    Dear all,
I have two servers, server W & server L, which is in Windows & Linux platform respectively. I installed ODI agents in both servers. Then I created a scenario which contains a procedure with a Windows OS command. I run it successfully if I kick start the scenario (using startscen.bat) from the Windows server (server W). However, I must kick start it from the Linux server (server L). But then the scenario failed with error message "java.io.IOException: java.io.IOException: cmd: not found". I tried to put parameter "-NAME=WINDOWS_AGENT" to specific the windows agent to run the scenario but got the same error.
Anyone knows if my requirement is feasible? If yes, how to do it? Or I must run it in the same platform? Millions Thanks.
    Regards,
    Ricardo

When you execute a scenario with a startscen command, it runs the scenario in that process, the NAME= parameter is just reflected in the execution log as the name of the agent which runs the scenario.
If you run a scenario from a OdiStartScen tool in a package, then you can specifiy the AGENT_CODE which delegates the execution to that specific agent. (if you don't specify an AGENT_CODE it defaults to the same agent running the parent)
Hence, if you want to run a command from the OS which initiates the execution on a remote agent, you will need to do one of the following:
    - create a scenario which uses an OdiStartScen command to start the scenario (held in a variable) with the parameters (held in a variable) on the agent (from a variable)
    - create a java program which utilizes the OdiInvocation API to initiate the excecution of your scenario on remote agents
    - If you have the ODI Public Web services deployed, you could even use some tool to use the web service to invoke the execution.
For completeness, you should also refer to the documentation of the odioscommand tool, which will invoke an os command (in the appropriate way on a variety of operating systems.

  • I used a terminal command to show the Library in the User folder, and now the Finder is behaving erractically.  Can anyone tell me how to reverse the show library terminal command?

I used a terminal command in Lion to show the LIbrary in the Users folder, and now the Finder is behaving erratically, hanging up and becoming almost paralyzed.  Can anyone tell me how to reverse the terminal command for show Library.  The command I used was:
    chflags nohidden ~/Library/

Showing the Library folder will not cause the problem you've described. Nevertheless:
    chflags hidden ~/Library
will hide the folder. To reveal the folder:
    chflags nohidden ~/Library
Note, there is no "/" after Library.

  • Cisco WS-C4948 missing qos commands

    Hi all,
I've hunted high and low and cannot seem to be able to enable shaping, bandwidth or priority under a class in a policy-map on a Cisco WS-C4948.
All documentation I have read on this switch on the Cisco website says that all these commands are possible.
    Example : http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/lan/catalyst4500/12.2/50sg/configuration/guide/qos.html#wp1436874
    Switch# configure terminal
    Switch(config)# policy-map policy1
    Switch(config-pmap)# class class1
    Switch(config-pmap-c)# shape average 256000
When I try to replicate I get:
    Switch# configure terminal
    Switch(config)# policy-map policy1
    Switch(config-pmap)# class class1
    Switch(config-pmap)# ?
    Policy-map class configuration commands:
      dbl              Dynamic buffer limiting
exit             Exit from QoS class action configuration mode
      netflow-sampler  NetFlow action
no               Negate or set default values of a command
police           Police traffic matching current class
      service-policy   Configure QoS Service Policy
      set              Set QoS values
trust            Set trust value for the class
      <cr>
Am I missing a global command to enable shaping?
    Thanks guys.
