Supplier dependent inspection processing

hello all!
we would like to implement following scenario:
depending on supplier rating e.g. every 5th goods receipt should be checked with an inspection lot.
dynamic modification is not an option, because we would like to set up the rules independent of materials.
i was thinking of supplier relationship-status as an option. does anyone have experience or an idea for that?
best regards,
matthias

hi
If you activate supplier relationship in QIR,
first 5inspection lot will be 0101 inspection type
and then change to next inspection type 011 0r 01 like that ....
if you want to do first5 GRinspection  and then no inspection lot creation or else reduce the frequency?
you said you don't want DMR
In both case you need material without that you can't
you have to develop your won
like system has to search for suplier if any inspection lot created across all material,
let say supplier x supplied 10materials, out of 10 material you recived 3material ,5GR inspection and ok
then remaining 7material you don't want to inspect ...
I don't think it is good idea
Thanks

  • Multiple shipping addresses for the same supplier (depending on the symbol)

Hello ,can we set up multiple shipping addresses for the same supplier (depending on the symbol)?
    .& How..
    Thanks

a delivery adedress has nothing to do with a certain supplier, except you are talking about subcontracting (do you?)
a delivery address specifies an address where you want the supplier to send the goods to.
if it is a third party PO, then the delivery address is derived from ship-to partner of the sales order.
in case of a standard order to stock, the delivery address is coming from the storage location address (if maintained). if no storage location address is maintained, then SAP takes the address from your plant.
You can manually add a delivery address in MEAN transaction and then manually assign in POs delivery address tab.
here you can as well take the address from any address already in your system (e.g. any customer or vendor).

  • Inspection Processing

    Dear Experts,
How to provide authorizations for inspection processing . For example we want some users to restrict from results recording and others from making UD . How this can be achieved .
    Best Regards
    MOS

    Hi MOS,
See RR and UD both are done with different T Codes so you can prevent the users for the trx QA11 by authorization. Talk to your basis guy he will set it according to the requirement as RAVI has suggested.
Or you can use QM Material authorization to prevent the same.
QM material authorization group for QM functions
This key limits the access authorization of users to the material-related data in quality management.
The material authorization in QM allows a detailed authorization check to be carried out from a material standpoint. Processing of the following is checked by the authorization object:
o Material authorization group in material master record
o Inspection completion and usage decision
              o Inspection lot
o Inspection results (inspection characteristics, defects)
              o QM information records
              o Quality levels
              o Material specification
If this authorization group is not maintained, an inspection is not carried out.

  • Schedule delivery qty issue in source inspection process

    Hi,
Issue : System is blocking GR if any one of the schedule delivery qty is rejected against same PO.
System been used : Source inspection process.
    Issue in details:
We create PO for 3000 kg with delivery schedule as 1000kg on 12th sept, 1000 kg on 13th sept and 1000 kg on 14th sept and save it.
Then we go to QI07 and create three inspection lots against this PO. So during user decision if we reject any one of the inspection lot then whole PO get block for GR, system should allow to do GR of 2000kg but it is not allowing, it say material is blocked for quality.
    Kindly resolve my issue
    Regards,

    Hello,
I doubt whether you can do this using source inspection. Now let me give you another option which will be manual in nature.
    1. Checking should happen before GR. - Make use of manual inspection(89 type)
    2.  System should restrict the GR if the material is rejected. - Do not release the quantity in quality info record if the material is rejected.
3.System should allow GR for partial approved material and restrict GR for partial rejected material against same PO - Release the required quantity in quality info record so that the GR can be done only for those quantities. A normal 01 inspection type lot will be created.
    4. Rejected quantity material PO should get open to take GR for replacement of rejcted material of same PO - You can make use of 122 movement type in the lot so that GR can be done for the rejected quantity as well.

  • What is the Earlier Inspection process

    Dear Folks,
What is the earlier inspection process ?
And my actual requirement is , i want to do the final inspection process for  a material with refernece to a production order and i want to do another operation with reference to the same production order after completion of this final inspection operation.
I heared that through earlier inspection process it is possible. But i do not what is that.
Can anybody explain the earlier inspection process.
    thanx in advance .
    Regards
    Srinivas

    Hi,
    Early Inspection Lot:
    Excerpts from Std SAP documentation:
An inspection lot with inspection lot origin 04 is created when a
production or process order is released. You can use this inspection
lot to inspect goods receipts of the finished quantities and then
manage them after goods receipt posting in the inspection lot stock.
Recommendation: Avoid making a usage decision for this type of early
inspection lot before any goods receipts have been posted. The usage
decision will then have a stock quantity of 0, but will not have the
status completely credited. This means that any following goods
receipts will be posted into the stock for this inspection lot. You
must then credit this lot from the stock quantity yourself, even if
you do not intend to perform further checks.
    Hope this helps

  • Queries related to calibration inspection process

I have some queries related to calibration business process. They are as follows:-
1.Which equipment category do we choose, Q or P?
2.While creating a maintenance plan, which category do we choose, maintenance order or quality maintenance order?
3.Is it that we can't do a time confirmation before results recording? If I try to do so,I get this message"No open operation recieving confirmation entries for order".
4.While I create my maintenance plan,I get this message, a counter could not be defined for the reference object. Why so?
5.After usage decision,if I lock my equipment for further use,the equipment has the status both AVLB and NPRT.Why?
6.Can I create my calibration order manually and assign equipment task list.If so,how?
7.While creating my test equipment, for the PRT tab,the task list usage becomes a mandatory field. What setting is done for this task list usage to become a mandatory field?
Edited by: Pallavi Kakoti on Feb 2, 2012 8:19 AM

    Hi
1.Which equipment category do we choose, Q or P?
    Ans:
Q is normaly used for Instruments,Lab equipments
P also used for Production/process related equipments needs calibrations often
2.While creating a maintenance plan, which category do we choose, maintenance order or quality maintenance order?
    Ans:
Its all depends on config you have did. if Quality maintenance order should be linked to inspection type.can be used.
we can not used maintenance order if it is not linked to inspection type 14.
3.Is it that we can't do a time confirmation before results recording? If I try to do so,I get this message"No open operation recieving confirmation entries for order".
    Ans:
You can do time confirmation after result recording, then UD.after UD ,order will be TECOed automaticlay.
4.While I create my maintenance plan,I get this message, a counter could not be defined for the reference object. Why so?
    Ans:
Check any measuring counters created for the equipments,
5.After usage decision,if I lock my equipment for further use,the equipment has the status both AVLB and NPRT.Why?
    Ans:
After UD, system changes the status NPRT for the equipments have PRT view only.
if PRT view maintained in the equipment, system status remains AVLB.
If you dont to use the equipment after UD-Reject,have to go development using user status.
6.Can I create my calibration order manually and assign equipment task list.If so,how?
    Ans:
    Yes. you can
Create task list with 300 inspection point, assign when u create order
also you can have manual call in the maintenance plans.

  • Supplier entry - Any process flow ideas?

    Hello,
This is a question beyond the Oracle Applications itself...I believe.
We are reviewing our processes and found that the Supplier Entry is taking more time than we thought and worst, several errors are being encountered.
Our Supplier Entry flow is as follows:
    1. The buyer collects data from the new supplier (by email and corporate letters)
    2. The buyer sends emails to Finance and Accounting, notifying about the new supplier record.
    3. Accounting replies that email, asking for detail information on the new supplier, so they can assign the proper accounting combinations for liability and pre-payment (those accounting combinations depend on the supplier type and country of the supplier)
    4. Finance asks information about the bank account of the supplier.
    5. The buyer sends the proper information to Finance and Accounting. Accounting replies with te proper accounting combinations.
    6. Finance receives information on the bank account. Enters the new supplier bank account.
    7. The supplier record is created by someone at Purchasing (restricted responsibility)
    8. Finance assigns the bank account to the supplier.
As you see...it can take time!
And worst, some times there are a lot of new suppliers to be entered on Oracle.
I'm sure there are better ways to do this.
Please, be kind and share some ideas on this topic.
Thanks in advance for your help!
    Regards.

    Hi,
You can use customized form, workflow and APIs to reduce the time and communication error. through workflow notification you can send email to supplier for bank details.
Our Supplier Entry flow is as follows:
    1. The buyer collects data from the new supplier (by email and corporate letters)
    2. The buyer sends emails to Finance and Accounting, notifying about the new supplier record.
A: Build one customized form and give access to buyer. Buyer enter main supplier data and send it to finance throgh notification (workflow).
    3. Accounting replies that email, asking for detail information on the new supplier, so they can assign the proper accounting combinations for liability and pre-payment (those accounting combinations depend on the supplier type and country of the supplier)
B: They will fill the accounting information on Customized form which open through the notice.
    4. Finance asks information about the bank account of the supplier.
    5. The buyer sends the proper information to Finance and Accounting. Accounting replies with te proper accounting combinations.
    6. Finance receives information on the bank account. Enters the new supplier bank account.
C: Buyer should enter the email address of supplier on the form. Through the email address, finance will send an automatic mail to supplier for bank information.
    7. The supplier record is created by someone at Purchasing (restricted responsibility)
    8. Finance assigns the bank account to the supplier.
D: Finance will Assing the bank account once the information will get from supplier. And the whole record (customized table) will transfer into Oracle Application through API.
Note: You need one developer who have knowlege of OA framework / Oracle web form developer, work flow and API knowledge.

  • Uploading Dependent inspection char.

    Hi friends,
I am having inspection plans already uploaded in systems for about 800 materials, now for some characteristics I want to upload their dependent characteristics, can anyone tell me what is the best possible way to do the same,as my ABAPer is finding lot of problem in writing BDC.
    Thank you,
    Regards,
    Amit Shirsath

    Hi Ravi,
    Thanks for your replies.
Let me tell u whats the problem is,
I want to upload customer specific data, now for my one material for char 10 in operation 10 and Grp counter 1, I have to upload customer specific data for 10 customer, the same thing I have to do for char 20 in same operation and group counter having 15 customer specific data.Like this there are 2 - 3 group counters in each material.
So, I have very much iterations like this, so for each scenario recording LSMW is very much difficult, some programming logic is required.
If any standard BAPI is available then please let me know, it will be helpful for me.
    Please give suggestions for issue.

  • Restart of dependent activity process

    HI All
In my business sceanario activities are dependent on each other. If one activity is rejected the whole process will be restarted. Is there any option that if activity D is rejected and I can restart it from activity A again and keeping previous record of acceptance as well.
One of the options are reversal of confirmations. Is there any other option without keeping new activities in the structure and fulfill business requirements
    Regards

    Hello
The scenario is very specific and I believe will not be used frequently anywhere. One option is to create new activities everytime the old one is cancelled. The old ones can be marked as deleted. Another option is as you said removing the confirmation and maintaining the record in user fields or text fields or attaching a text to it.

  • Launch Supply Chain Planning Process - Significance of Anchor Date

While Launching plan, there is a parameter Anchor date. It defaults to current. We can change this to any past date. What is the significance of this?
Our client has a requirement - They want to see the forecast demand for current month (though today's date is 6th Mar, they want to see from 1st Mar). I tried changing Anchor date to 01-Mar. This did not pull past data.
Past forecast is pulled only when I change "Past Due Forecast Days" in ASCP Parameters.
Can some one exaplain what change is supply/demand we can see by changing anchor date?
    Thanks,
    Anitha.

    Hi,
for what I saw many reasons can cause this kind of stuck.
    1) Check if there are some locks on the MSC tables, maybe is the reason why it does not go through.
Usually the concurrent (I suppose you are stuck at the memory based snapshot) creates a BIG log file. Check if the log file goes on.
    2) Once the Snapshot was incredibly slow due to some loop in the BOM. Since you are working on process manufacturing the loop should be in the recipe. You should see if there is a loop in the log.
    3) Stop the concurrent if he goes beyond any acceptable time and try to create a very small plan, with just few item, a week of planning time and one demand. Try to use some dummy supersimple data. If the plan goes fine it means that probably you have some issues on the data you feed the system. (i.e. Loop or too much things).
    4) I am not sure if this apply but maybe you have some sort of limitation on the maximum number of concurrent that can run simultaneously. We had something similar and if I well remember some concurrents where waiting for other to finish but the others could not start do to a limitation on the maximum concurrent. (check in sysadmin for this).
    Hope it helps

  • Process "reconditioning a part at supplier"

    Hello alltogether,
i have one scenario which I don't know how to setup in SAP.
We have a lot of customers who send parts to us for reconditioning.
    Process should be as follows:
1.) receive parts from customers (free of charge, they don't belong to us!!!)
2.) send as much parts as I can (free of charge) to one or different suppliers (depends on the parts!) for reconditioning once a week
3.) Supplier will send partial or full delivery of all reconditioned parts to me
4.) I will have to create a couple of "customer deliveries" and invoices where I just charge the service (parts are still free of charge)
Does anyone know the best practice (and fastest) ?
    Thanks in advance
    Wolfgang

    Hi,
Your Scenario matches the Refurbishment Process.

  • Supplier Process chain issue

    Hello,
We loaded supplier(LSUPPLIER) from ECC to SPM. The data got loaded to PSA and info objects. But when I release the supplier load, the process chain is running for last 7 hours.
We had same issue in QA where it ran for almot 2 days and even after 2 days it did not finish - in fact there was no progress as well. When I checked in SM50, there was a process with sequential read on /BI0/PXALOCSUPP for almost 2 days.
Has anyone faced similar issue and any pointers for this issue?
    Regards,
    Prasanna

WE have seen this happen if too many of local supplier point to the same cleansed supplier(generally a dummy cleansed supplier). Is that the case for you.
If not then try recuding the package size of the PSA. That might improve performance for you.

  • Supply chain modeling of subcontraction process using SNP

    Dear Experts,
I am in the phase of designing my  supply chain business process  in APO
    We have two plants
    Plant u2013 A (manufacturing )
    Plant u2013 B (distribution center)
    Subcontractors  - for Plant A
    Subcon-1
    Subcon-2
    Subcon-3
    Subcon-4
    Subcon-5
    Subcon-6
    Subcon-7
Demand planning /forecast is done on the basis of
    Customer
    Products
    And Plant
When forecast is done in demand planning an send to SNP , system must give planned order on the basis of  available capacity , low cost of production  of the my subcontractor  ,I believe I need to use SNP optimization
Does SNP Optimizer can serve my requirement
Also how do I need to define my subcontractor  either as DC location or just a MRP area
Please do not hesitate to ask more details if you are not clear my requirement
    Thanks & Regard
    Raj

    Hi Raju,
The Optimizer should serve your requirement as it considers the capacity constraints and can be used for finite planning. Regarding subcontracting location , you can map it as either a DC location or a Subcontractor location. Better way would be to map it as a subcontracting location. Mapping it as just MRP area would not serve as you want it to consider during the finite planning runs for optimizer.
Let me know if it helps
