Suppress PRINT ACKNOWLEDGE browser page.

Hi,
I am able to direct print the reports on web using normal parameters...i.e. desname, destype and desformat.
When it prints successfully, it gives us a message in a separate browser window "The report has been successfully printed out"
And we don't want this message. Can anybody tell me to suppress this window and message ? ?

Are you using 6i server and CGI or 9i server and servlet.
Try starting the server in batc mode ( batch =yes)

Suppressing printing of blank page

Dear all,
My report consists of 3 distinct sub reports. The first two sub reports should be printed as portrait on A-4 sheet while the third one should be printed as landscape A-4 . I have put the first two sub reports layout in the main section with orientation as portrait while the third one is placed in trailer section with orientation as landscape. The printing of subreports 2 and 3 is conditional. There may be case when first two sub reports get printed while we do not have third report as there is no data in the database for the same. In this case , I am still getting a blank page corresponding to the third sub report in the final report. How do I suppress this?

Per PCWIZARD's suggestion in another thread,
It may be the printer's power supply is dropping the power to the printer when it is off. You can reset the power supply by unplugging it from both the wall and the printer for 5 minutes.

Blank Page prints even though "Suppress Printing If No Records" option is thicked.
My environment:
Crystal Report Developer Full version 11.5.11.1470
Windows Server 2003 SP2 32-bit.
We have a third party vendor application written in Java -let's call it "print deamon", but my company doesn't have access to the source code.
The print deamon essentially listens to the core application which is located remotely, receive some print instructions such as label name, printer name, crystal reports version (8.5 or 11) and a few parameters that are passed to the crystal report template.
When the version is Crystal Reports 11 and the template is open and query is executed (using Oracle JDBC) and if the template's query does not retrieve any rows, a blank page still prints even though the option to suppress printing is thicked.
With Crystal Reports 8.5 version, we have no issues.
recycling the blank page is not an option in our high volume print environment, these paper and labels are wasted big time, third party vendor says this is an issue with crystal reports XI api.

Also you may want to upgrade to CR XI R2. Go to this link: http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/boc and download the trial version of CR XI R2 and use your XI keycode, then apply the patches which you can get to by clicking on the BusinessObjects tab above, then Downloads.

Once updated you can then go to the Keycode site and get a XI R2 keycode to enable oll of the features.

Suppress printing the last two pages

I have created a form that has the last two pages of the form screen only visible. Saved the form and printed it but the last two pages print blank. Is there any way to suppress printing the last two blank pages. If I was the only person using the form I just wouldn't print the last two pages but this is going into a production environment where seeing the last two pages is important but printing the last two pages isn't.

How to suppress printing blank pages?

Hi all,
I work with reports 6i and I need a tip.
I have to build a report with two sections (main and trailer section).The main section is always filled with data, but the trailer section does not always receive data.
When I print the report without data in the trailer section there is a blank last page. How can I suppress printing the trailer section when there is no data in it.

URL, title etc of webpages do not print on pages printed off internet despite selecting these in header/footers in page set up. How do I get URL etc to print on the page?

No matter how I try I cannot get the URL of a webpage or other options such as page title, date etc to print if I print up a webpage. I have done the necessary selections in file>page setup>headers & footers choosing the options from the drop downs. I have even tried making top or bottom margin bigger thinking there was not space on the page. This is still the case if I try to print to different printers.
Is there something I am missing that needs to be done via some other setting or menu item?

I then selected URL in footer right in page setup but still it refuses to show in print preview or print on the page in hard print. It is most peculiar. Any other ideas? Thanks.

Can't print pdf web pages

using OS 10.4.11, safari 3.1.1, and adobe professional 7.0, I find that although
I can print most web pages, I can't print a pdf web page.

where do you make that selection?
Not sure where in Acrobat Professional, but in the free Acrobat Reader, it's in Acrobat Reader menu > Preferences > (category) Internet > "Display PDF in browser using:" - uncheck the box and that should cause Safari to use it's own PDF display engine (shared with Preview).
how do I make Safari show scroll command along page side - right now I seem to have lost ability to scroll up and down web page ?
That's a puzzler - the vertical/horizontal scroll bars should always be there if the page is longer/wider than the current size of the display window... Might try posting that one in the Safari for Mac forum.

How to print a specific page from the internet

I have tried to print a specific page, and get about seven pages that are linked to it, without
seeing the specific page I wanted printed out. The page settings under printer only lists header and footer
info, and no choices to print only this page or frame. There is no way to print one specific page on this printer?
I always was able to do this with the Epson printer I just replaced, but unable to with this printer.
Please help! There must be a way to do this when printing from the internet. Thanks for any help.

I don't have any idea what you are trying to print, nor do I wish to know. Smiling.
The key may be to control this in Print Preview like you would with most things when you are printing from a Browser.

How to fix extremely slow printing from web pages with latest updates (iMac) & HP Office jet printer. (It was not a problem with earlier versions of Firefox & same computer & printer.)

The latest two updates of Mozilla Firefox are not useful for me because of extremely slow printing of web pages. It was never a problem before. Same iMac and HP officejet printer. How can I either fix it, or revert to an earlier version of the browser (without losing all my bookmarks) which didn't cause this problem?

Try scanning from your Mac. Use Image Capture app in your Applications folder.
Click once on the scanner on the left side, then click on Show Details along the bottom. Along the right side you will see LOTS of options for scanning and saving.

Safari 4.0.3 hangs every time I try to print a web page to a pdf file.

Hi. Just wondering if anyone else has run into this problem and whether or not they have found a fix for it. Every time I try to print a web page to a pdf file from Safari (v4.0.3 running under Snow Leopard 10.6.1), Safari hangs and I have to force quit the program. The pdf is saved successfully, but the browser hangs immediately after the file has been created.
The problem is very consistent - every time I try to print a web page to a pdf file, the browser hangs. Anyone else have the same problem? Thanks.

Try Safari maintenance.
From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Empty Cache. When you are done with that...
from the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Reset Safari. Select the top 5 buttons and click Reset.

Only page 1 prints well. Page 2 is offset to the right and information is lost at the page break. FireFox 8 and 9, Mac OS 10.5.8

This is very similar to a previous post with a later version of OS X, but the fix that worked for the original poster does not work for me.
Mac OS 10.5.8 FireFox 8 and 9. If I print a web page, either just print or save as PDF, only the first page prints well. Page 2 is offset to the right such that the information is cut off at the right edge. Information is lost at the page break, several lines of text will be lost.
I use several add-ons for work that are only on Firefox, so using another browser doesn't help much.

Somebody had a similar problem and was advised to start in safe mode or create a new profile. (Here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/906274?s=firefox+print+first+page&r=2&e=sph&as=s). Starting in safe mode disabling all add-ons does not fix the problem for me. When I try to follow the instructions here (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Managing-profiles) to start the profile manager, Terminal gives me an error message after I enter the line of text: "The application firefox-bin quit unexpectedly." I have tried it with and without the "-bin" (the error message is the same - just with or without the "-bin"), with a capital or lower case P at the end. Nothing works. Please help.

I would like to print chinese web page within netscape browser in Solaris 9 Traditional Chinese OS, the print out result is garbage code on the paper not correctly chinese fonts.
I can print out correctly the chinese document create by StarSuite 7.0 on Solaris 9 OS environment and also the chinese web page is correctly display within Netscape browser but for printing is abnomal result.
Can someone point me to how to do print chinese web page with browser in Solaris 9 environment ?

Double sided printing, adding blank page after two different groups

I have created a report that is structured as such:
Group 1 - Based on formula, groups by type
Group 2 - Based on formula, groups by use
Group 3 - use (pulled directly from Database)
Group 4 - ID
I have the report printing an extra page after group 3. I used this formula in the Section Expert - New Page After
remainder(pagenumber,2)=0
I also use that formula to reset the page number
What I would like to do is print a second blank page if group 2 does not start on the top of the page, meaning I do not want either group 3 or group 2 to start on the back of a page, so that this report can be placed in a binder, with dividers.
I have group 3 giving me a blank page with no issues, it is just group 2.
Any help and/or suggestions would be appreciated. If I did not give enough details, I am sorry.

After a lot of blood, sweat and tears, not to mention a lot of curse words directed at the computer, I was able to get this to work. Now I just have to do it for three groupings instead of two (deliver the impossible to your bosses, and they turn around and move the brass ring right out of reach again!)
In case anyone is interested in how I was able to manage this (I found many sites where people asked this question, but not one complete answer), this is what I did:
In the footer section:
Group 4 - ID (database field)
Group 3 - PrimeUse (database field)
    3a - Contains data
    3b - Contains data
    3c - New Page After, Keep Together, and Reset Page Number After are all checked. In the condition for Reset Page Number After I also have this formula:
    remainder(pagenumber,2)=0
    3d - New Page After, Keep Together, and Reset Page Number After are all checked. In the condition for New Page After I have this formula:
    remainder(pagenumber,2)=0
Group 2 - Suppressed
Group 1 - Grouped by Store Type -
    1a - Suppressed, New Page After and Keep Together are all checked.
    1b - New Page After and Keep Together are checked. In the condition for New Page After I have to following formula:
    remainder(totalpagecount,2)=1
If anyone sees any errors, or if you think you can get it so that I get another page blank, after Group 1, if the Group starts on an even numbered page, I would appreciate the help.

PDF printing of web-pages WITH background?

How do I make it possible to have the background image/pattern/colour etc. of a web-page included when I "print" to PDF?
Whenever I print a web page with something in the background other than white it's missing in the PDF file. This happens in my daily-use browser (Seamonkey), but also in Safari. However, in iCab (http://www.icab.de/) the background is included in the PDF file, so at least it's possible in MacOS. I just can't find any settings for it.

Another neat trick I found is that you can save the different settings. Just go to the "presets" part of the print menu, then save the current setting. For example by naming it "PDF printing with background".
Then turn off the background colour/image/pattern and save it as a new preset (e.g. "Print (to paper)").
That way you don't need to waste lots of ink, but at the same time you'll get the complete web-page with background and all when you save it as a PDF file. Just remember to select the right preset before you "print".

If you open the ePrint app and select "Web Browser" you are able to print multiple web pages from there, however if you are looking to print only certain pages of the web, ePrint Home and Biz does not currently support this feature.
