Supress Acrobat error messages

I am merging pdfs using Iac/C# with Acrobat hidden. If I drop in a broken PDF, Acrobat pops up and displays an error message. Is there a way to suppress this behavior? I am using avDoc.Open() to open the PDFs.

No, any AVDoc calls require the viewer to be present (you can hide it with Hide() as you are, but it still exists) and any error messages will propagate up through the viewer.
You could use a try/catch around your call, but if the error message is propagated from the call before returning, this will not be caught so you can't rely on a try/catch for all error suppression.
Do you require using AVDoc methods in your application or are there sufficient PDDoc methods to accomplish what you want?

  • Acrobat error message when trying to open a .pdf, usine Acrobat 6.0 and need this version for distiller function.

Have Acrobat 6.0 and 9.0 installed. I need 6.0 for distiller function. Whenever I try to open a .pdf file in a site I get an error message that Acrobat has a problem and the file will not open.

    Good day,
You can initiate a Repair installation from Control Panel > Programs by clicking on the Acrobat 9 installation, choosing 'Change' then following the prompts for a repair install.
I missed the part where you mentioned the error was occurring on launch.  Sorry about that.
    Kind regards,

  • Acrobat error message: The PDF document contained image masks that were not downsampled.

I'm .pfing a document from InDesign CS2, and even after I use Acrobat 8 to try to reduce the file size, the file is still about 12 mb. I 'm getting the error listed above, and wondering if that has anything to do with it.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks.

Content streams are pages, type 3 fonts, comments (annotations), form fields and XObjects.
If you're really concerned about the file size, one trick (although not recommended since it can cause other issues such as fonts busting out, colour transformations etc) would be to open the PDF and then PRINT to the Adobe PDF printer using say STANDARD or SMALLEST FILE SIZE ... this re-fry might will remove/re-create the content streams and reduce the overall size.
    Cheers,
    Jon

  • Error message to Warning message in MIGO?

    Hi,
When we are executing MIGO 411 K transaction we are getting error message 'Enter Vendor Number'. I want to supress change error message to warning message.
Because my requirement is populate vendor dynamically based on combination of Material, Plant, Storage location and Batch. I got user exit for this User-exit (EXIT_SAPMM07M_001) when click on check button.
We found a User-exit (EXIT_SAPMM07M_001) triggered when User clicks on 'CHECK' button. But since the vendor field (LIFNR) is a mandatory field in MIGO 411 K transaction, its throwing an error message 'Enter Vendor Number'. So unable to proceed further.
so i want to change error message into warning message and then i will proceed.
error message i m getting is " Enter vendor number for special stock k".
Or is there any other to populate the vendor dynamically based on Material, Plant, Storage location and Batch. please help..
    thanks

This error is dynamic call so you can't make this one as warning message but why don't you try to add the search criteria based on your requirement to the field of vendor in migo.
e.g. when you do F4 or drop down you will see the list of vendor you can get from diff way.......so add one more earch criteria for your reqs here.

  • Error message VF 217 when creating downpayment request in VF01

    Dear Experts,
We use milestone billing. I did all the necessary settings in customizing.
Here is an example for a billing plan
billing date    date description   billing rule   date category billing type
    28.02.2010  0009                      5                 04                   FAZ
    28.03.2010  0008                      3                 02
When I create a FAZ (downpayment request) in VF01 or VF04, SAP says "check the log" . In the log I get the error message VF 217 "For downpayment requirements, only billing rule 4 or 5 can be used". If I check the item data of e.g. item 10 the billing rule is indeed "5". So I wonder, why I get this error message in the first place. Do you have any idea, how I can supress this error message?
If I create the FAZ manually via VF01/VF04, I get this message, but I can still save and process the FAZ without any problems.
But we need to create the FAZ via the POS interface (Retail). So when the interface gets this error message, it actually thinks that the FAZ can't be created. This is causing us problems. Therefore we need to supress the error message.
    Thanks a lot in advance!

    Hi Mueller,
I think in that case the problem is in billing rule in billing plan type.
Goto OVBJ--> select billing plan type (For ex. 01 - Milestone Billing) --> Please maintain billing rule 4 or 5 --> save it.
    In downpayment
Option 4, We use for % based,
Option 5, We use for value basis
After doing thi change, I think your issue will get resolved.
Please try and revert back with your findings.

  • Trying to redownload Acrobat 7 Professional on Windows Vista:  error message

The error message reads:  "Error 1304 Error writing to file C\Programs files\ Adobe\ Acrobat 7.0\ Active X\GbDetect.dll.  Verify that you have access to that directory"  Does anyone know how to deal with this message?

Have you checked to see if Acrobat version 7 will even work with Windows Vista?
HOW ADOBE PRODUCTS SUPPORT WINDOWS VISTA
Acrobat 7 will not work with MS Office 2010. If you have MS Office 2010, you can not use any Acrobat product reliably to create PDFs. You will have to wait for the next version of Acrobat.

  • Error message after purchasing Acrobat XI software

About a month ago, I downloaded a free trial of Acrobat Pro XI and recently started getting popup expiration reminders each time I opened a PDF, so I purchased the software today, downloaded and installed it. I have also registered it with Adobe online. Now, every time I open a PDF, I get a popup titled "Serial number upgrade" asking me which product I already own, and requiring a serial number. Since I just purchased Acrobat Pro XI, it should appear on the drop down menu but does not, and when I enter the serial number, I get an error message stating that the "Serial number you provided was valid, but a qualifying product could not be found on this computer." I've been using the same computer the entire time, so why is the software not found, and why can't I use it without this problem occurring each time?
My expiration reminder also continues to pop up constantly, so I'm wondering why the fact that I've purchased it now hasn't cancelled that out?

    Brad,
I've checked your order history and the order placed for Acrobat XI is for an upgrade. With this error message you need to enter the serial number for Acrobat X purchased earlier. I've emailed the serial number again to you.
    Thanks

  • Acrobat XI: Printing to networked printer fails without error message

    I'm using Windows 8 Professional.
When I use Acrobat XI Professional or Reader XI to print to a networked printer, Acrobat and Reader throw up the Progress dialog, showing the document is getting spooled. However, nothing appears in my printer's status window and nothing gets printed. There are no error messages.
When I use Windows 8 Pro's Reader app to print to the networked printer, it works just fine.
I thus have a workaround, so not all is lost.
However, how do I diagnose why only the Adobe applications on my computer can't use the networked printer?

    Thanks for the advice.
The problem is not solved.  This is what i have tried.
    Attempt 1.
Log-in as Administrator via  "CRTL-ALT-DEL" twice at the Welcome window.
"Repair" Adobe Acrobat XI Pro installation.
    Same failure as described earlier.
    Attempt 2.
Log-in as Administrator via  "CRTL-ALT-DEL" twice at the Welcome window.
    Uninstall Acro XI Pro.
    Run :  acrobat_ittools_cleaner_p1_040612.zip
Log of "cleaner" shows deletion of very many, but ot all, Registry Acro-associated keys.
At end of uninstall and cleaner processes, re-start machine.
Log-in again as Administrator via  "CRTL-ALT-DEL" twice at the Welcome window.
Disable Norton 360 and Webroot Secure Anywhere prior to Acro XI Pro installation.
Re-install Acro XI Pro (this time, for "Default" choice, as opposed to "Complete" in previous installs.)
Outcome:  NO Adobe PDF printer.  HOWEVER, both during the "Repair" and re-install processes, a message did flash: "Creating the Adobe PDF Printer".
Both Repair and re-install:  The Adobe PDF printer is not listed under "Manufacturer" when "Add Printer" is executed (see image below).
Proceeding via "Have Disk", C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 11.0\Acrobat\Xtras\AdobePDF\AdobePDF.inf,  yields the failure to install the driver previously described, for all ten (10) instance of the Adobe PDF Converter options.
    Thanks for any insights.

  • Acrobat Quit Unexpectedly error message on MacBook Pro after purchasing and downloading.  How do I get it to run??

I just purchased the Acrobat XI Pro Subscription online.  After downloading the software and receiving the message that the installation was complete I tried to open the software to no avail.  It starts to open with a "please wait while we launch Acrobat..." screen, then I get an error message "Acrobat Quit Unexpectedly"  with options to Ignor, Report, or Reopen.  I've sent the report, but no matter how many times I try the 'Reopen' or 'Ignore' options the software will not open.  I'm running a MacBook Pro with Mac OS X version 10.7.5.
Any suggestions on how to get the software to work.  I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail.
    Any help would be appreciated.
