Supressing rows from query

Hi All
I need to supress few rows(records) in the query. I can do it with conditions, but using conditions the result row wont be supressed. The amount in the supressed row wud reflect in result. I, however dont want it to be reflected in the result. Please advice if there is any workaround.
I have a debtor age analyasis report, which shouldnt show debtors with credit balances. the customer with credit balances shouldnt appear in the report at all. The cube however has these values, which are being used foir other reprots on the same cube. How can one supress them in the query? Pls advice
Thanks in advance
Regards
PB

PB,
right-click on the result row. Go to:
Calculate > Results as > Total
That way it will only take the displayed rows, now it is set to undefined and then it will take all the rows in the back too.

    Please need help

    Hi,
    Try this,
    select * from (select name, row_number() over (order by name) as row_num from test) row_num
    where row_num <= 3
    If you are looking for something else explain us more with sample output.
    Thanks!

  • Business Objects is not returning all rows from Query

    We set the rowcount to 1000000 and the business objects query only returns 16,960 rows.  We then uncheck the limit for the rowcount and the first run of the query returns 65,535.  The subsequent run of the query returns all the rows which is greater than 65,535.  We are on release 6.1A of business objects and selecting from Microsoft SQLServer 2005 in 2000 compatablility mode. We noticed that the rowcount being sent to SQLServer is replacing the set number with the 65,535 the first time the query is sent and subsiquent queries have the correct rowcount set.  What would be causing the rowcount to be reset and how can it be fixed?

  • Programmatically get result rows from query component?

    I am using a af:query for searching values without the table. When i search, is there any way in which i can get the search results Programmatically?

    Intercept the query invokation using your own queryListener method, and then get the Iterator from the VO. http://jobinesh.blogspot.com/2011/03/retrieving-viewcriteria-from-custom.html

  • SQL query that returns exclusive rows from groups

    I'm using modified scott/tiger data for this.
    I've got two tables
    DEPT_X
    DEPTNO     DNAME             LOC     CODE_ID     SUB_DEPTNO
    10     ACCOUNTING     NEW YORK 111     101
    10     SALES             ATWN      111     102
    10     SALES             BTWN      112     103
    20     RESEARCH     DALLAS      111     201
    20     RESEARCH     CTWN      111     202
    30     SALES             CHICAGO      111     301
    40     OPERATIONS     BOSTON      112     401and
    BI_PD
    CODE_ID     PD_TYPE     BI_TYPE
    111          -1
    112     -1     I want to write a query that joins the code_ids of the two tables and lists out either only the records from DEPT_X who's code_ids have a -1 in the PD_TYPE(112) column and none of the code_ids that have a -1 in the BI_TYPE(111) column for each department or if that department has code_ids for the BI_TYPE (111), list out those rows. So for Deptno 10 you'll only get the row with SUB_DEPTNO = 103. But if for that DEPTNO= 20 you'll get the rows for both SUB_DEPTNO = 201 and 202.
    So the result should look like
    DEPTNO   SUB_DEPTNO
    10          103
    20          201
    20          202
    30          301.
    Basically I just want rows from each department that have code_ids = 111 not to show up if there are code_ids = 112.
    What is the query to do this?

  • How do you limit the number of rows return from query?

    How do you limit the number of rows return from query? Do all databases support this kind of feature?

    i think the standard is limit
    to get the top 30
    select * from mytable LIMIT 30;returns the first 30 rows
    also if you want a range
    select * from mytable LIMIT 10,30;returns 30 rows starting from 10
    this last one is useful for displaying ranges... something similar happens in these forums when viewing topics and messages

  • Updating, Adding, or Deleting rows from a query

    So, I've got this page that originally was made of four
    different forms. It worked great. But, then the client asked that I
    "idiot proof" the page.
    Originally, I had a form that enclosed a one-line table (with
    Add & Clear buttons on the end) that took seven fields and
    "added" a new record to the "tbljob" table.
    That was followed with another form that created a table from
    the results of a cfquery and listed all the rows from tbljob (with
    Update/Delete buttons on the end of each row).
    This worked fine when it was two separate forms. Now, I'm
    trying to use only one "form" while displaying the two tables. The
    buttons are now done with Javascript (so there are dialog boxes).
    The problem is that I am getting a CF error message because the
    insert, update, and delete commands are trying to pass the contents
    of the fields as comma-delimited lists rather than the single data
    item that is actually in each field. I am passing a hidden field
    with each row that contains the "job_id".
    I know the problem is that I'm not identifying each row as
    being unique. I guess it's like I'm passing an "array" of data
    rather than just a "row".
    Basically, I just want to be able to display a blank row for
    adding records followed by multiple rows from a query. The blank
    row needs to have "Add" and "Cancel" buttons at the end and the
    multi-row part has to have "Update" and "Delete" buttons on the end
    of each row and manage the appropriate records.
    It's got me stumped. TIA.

    What you can do is try using <cfloop> to insert, update
    and delete your information.
    For instance deleting the information try this.
    <!---- Delete Jobs---->
    <cfloop index="JobIDs" list="#Job_ID#" delimiters=",">
    <cfquery name="delteall" datasource="dbsource">
    DELETE
    FROM table
    Where job_Id = #JobIDs#
    </cfquery>
    </cfloop>
    Do the same for your inserting and updating.
    Because what CF see is job_id = 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9
    SO you are looping over a list = #job_id# and delimiter is "
    , " and we are calling the index JobIDs. JobIDs are the values - 1
    2 3 4 5 6 ....
    I hope this helps. As for the displaying of the images, use
    if then statements:
    <cfif isdefined("edittable") and edittable eq '"y">
    Then display the query and outputs for the editing options
    <cfelseif isdefined("deletetable") and addtable eq "y">
    The dispaly the query and outputs for adding options
    <cfelse>
    Then display the query for outputing the delete options
    </cfif>
    So your link will have soemthing of this sort <a
    href="samepage.cfm?deletetable=y">Add Table</a>
    Hope this helps,

  • Grouping rows from a query

    Hi everyone!
    I want to know if it's posible to group the rows from a query into a unique row. Example:
    SELECT Field_1 FROM Table_1
    Returns the following fileds:
    Field_1
    A
    B
    C
    D
    I would want to modify my query so that the result obtained would be a single row containing all the others. In the previous example the result would be "ABCD".
    Thanks in advance. Best regards,

  • How to hide row from table after logical delete

    Hello.
    I am using Jdeveloper 11.1.1.3.0, ADF BC and ADF Faces.
    I want to implement Logical delete in my application.
    In my Entity object I have Deleted attribute and I override the remove() method in my EntityImpl class.
        @Override
        public void remove()
           setDeleted("Y");
        }and I added this condition to my view object
    WHERE NVL(Deleted,'N') <> 'Y'in my page I have a table. this table has a column to delete each row. I dragged and drop RemoveRowWithKey action from the data control
    and set the parameter to *#{row.rowKeyStr}* .
    I what I need is this:
    when the user click the delete button I want to hide the roe from the table. I tried to re-execute the query after the delete but the row is still on the page. Why execute query does not hide the row from the screen.
    here is the code I used for delete and execute query
        public String deleteLogically()
            BindingContainer bindings = getBindings();
            OperationBinding operationBinding = bindings.getOperationBinding("removeRowWithKey");
            Object result = operationBinding.execute();
            DCBindingContainer dc=(DCBindingContainer) bindings;
            DCIteratorBinding iter=dc.findIteratorBinding("TakenMaterialsView4Iterator");
            iter.getCurrentRow().setAttribute("Deleted", "Y");
            //iter.getViewObject().executeQuery();
            iter.executeQuery();
            return null;
        }as you see I used two method iter.getViewObject().executeQuery(); and  iter.executeQuery(); but the result is same.

    Thank you Jobinesh.
    I used this method.
        @Override
        protected boolean rowQualifies(ViewRowImpl viewRowImpl)
          Object attrValue =viewRowImpl.getAttribute("Deleted");
            if (attrValue != null) {
             if ("Y".equals(attrValue))
                return false;
             else
                return true;
            return super.rowQualifies(viewRowImpl);
        }But I have one drawback for using it, and here is the case:
    If the user clicks the delete button *(no commit)* the row will be hidden in the table, but when the user click cancel changes the row is not returned since it is not returned due to the rowQualifies(ViewRowImpl viewRowImpl) (the Deleted attribute is set to "N" now).
    here is the code for delete and cancel change buttons
        public String deleteLogically()
            BindingContainer bindings = getBindings();
            OperationBinding operationBinding =
                bindings.getOperationBinding("removeRowWithKey");
            Object result = operationBinding.execute();
            DCBindingContainer dc = (DCBindingContainer)bindings;
            DCIteratorBinding iter =
IteratorBinding("TakenMaterialsView4Iterator");
            iter.getCurrentRow().setAttribute("Deleted", "Y");
             iter.executeQuery();
            AdfFacesContext adfFacesContext = AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
            adfFacesContext.addPartialTarget(this.getTakenMaterialsTable());
            return null;
        public String cancelChanges(String iteratorName)
            System.out.println("begin cancel change");
            BindingContainer bindings =
                BindingContext.getCurrent().getCurrentBindingsEntry();
            DCBindingContainer dc = (DCBindingContainer)bindings;
            DCIteratorBinding iter =
                (DCIteratorBinding)dc.findIteratorBinding(iteratorName);
            ViewObject vo = iter.getViewObject();
            //create a secondary RowSetIterator to avoid disturbing row currency
            RowSetIterator rsi = vo.createRowSetIterator(null);
            //move the currency to the slot before the first row.
            rsi.reset();
            while (rsi.hasNext())
                    currentRow = rsi.next();
                    currentRow.setAttribute("Deleted", "N");
            rsi.closeRowSetIterator();
            iter.executeQuery();
            AdfFacesContext adfFacesContext = AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
            adfFacesContext.addPartialTarget(this.getTakenMaterialsTable());
            return null;
        }as example, if the user initially has 8 rows, then deleted 2 rows, in cancelChanges only 6 rows appears. and the deleted rows are not there??
    any suggestion?

  • Master Child tables how to get the latest rows from both

    Hi,
    Need some help with the sql. I have two tables Master & Child. In my Master table I have multiple rows for the same record and in the child table also multiple rows for the same master row how can I get the latest one's from both.
    For example Data in my Master table looks like
    CONT_ID                  SEQ_NUM        DESCRIPTION
    1                         189             Update 2
    1                         188             Update 1
    1                         187              NewNow in the child table for the same CONT_ID I may have the following rows
    CONT_ID                   UPDATED_DATE                                     STATUS
    1                        3/16/2010 2:19:01.552700 PM                          P
    1                        3/16/2010 12:29:01.552700 PM                         A
    1                        3/16/2010 12:29:01.552700 PM                         P
    1                        3/16/2010 12:19:01.552700 PM                         NIn my final query how can I get the row with seq_num 189 as it's the latest in Master table and from child table the row with status of P as it's the latest one based on the time. Here is the query i have but it returns the latest row from the child table only and basically repeats the master table rows as opposed to one row that is latest from both:
    Thanks

    Hi,
    You can use the analytic ROW_NUMKBER function to find the latest row for each cont_id in each table:
    WITH     got_m_rnum     AS
         SELECT     cont_id,     seq_num,     description
         ,     ROW_NUMBER () OVER ( PARTITION BY  cont_id
                                   ORDER BY          seq_num     DESC
                           ) AS m_rnum
         FROM    master_table
    --     WHERE     ...     -- any filtering goes here
    ,     got_c_rnum     AS
         SELECT     cont_id, updated_date,     status
         ,     ROW_NUMBER () OVER ( PARTITION BY  cont_id
                                   ORDER BY          updated_date     DESC
                           ) AS c_rnum
         FROM    child_table
    --     WHERE     ...     -- any filtering goes here
    SELECT     m.cont_id,     m.seq_num,     m.description
    ,     c.updated_date,     c.status
    FROM     got_m_rnum     m
    JOIN     got_c_rnum     c     ON     m.cont_id     = c.cont_id
                        AND     m.m_rnum     = c.c_rnum
                        AND     m.m_rnum     = 1
    ;If you'd like to post CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements for the sample data, then I could test this.
    If there happens to be a tie for the latest row (say, there are only two rows in the child_table with a certain cont_id, and both have exactly the same updated_date), then this query will arbitrarily choose one of them as the latest.
