I am unable to access my Skype account because it has been suspended.
I have not logged into skype directly with the default client in long time, but indirectly with IMO all the time. I was on a call not a week ago and everything was fine.
Now that I have been suspended and can not remember exactly which date I signed up for the service, nor a list of names in my contact list (Account names? I usually rename my contacts)
Now without access to my account, I am unable to reference my answers therefore creating a catch 22. I have some very important contacts including a budding love interest that I only have access to through Skype. This software was created to bring people together, not to tear them apart because something decided that my account was being hacked. I have tried to find a local chat log on my PC for Skype but have turned up nothing. There is nothing Customer Support can do for my situation apparently, but there has GOT to be another way to prove that my account is indeed my own account. Wouldn't you think they would ask you for birthdate and such? I've honestly had less trouble proving my identity to banks.
Please if anyone can help, give suggestions... I'm heart broken

The only way to restore your account is to bring it current. A rep can't call you if your phone is suspended.
You can private message with your contact and account information and someone can get in touch with you.

Can un-suspend account

My account got hacked, through no fault of mine i.e. I did not click on any links in spam emails.
I filled in all the information to get my account released and got sent an email by skype. The email has a link to a form to fill in further information. The link in the email is broken. So I am stuck with a suspended account I have had for seven years, and I have lost the skype credit I had before the account was hacked.
I don't have a premium account so there appears to be no way to contact customer support.

I am sorry to read of your experience in attempting to contact Skype Customer Service directly; you will be asked to verify certain account details in order to release your account. That Skype will suspend an account as an anti-fraud measure is not unusual; please change your account password as well.
Please post back with the details of what web browser you were using when you clicked on the link in the e-mail you received, along with the steps you took before the process would not permit you to continue further. Screen shots would be ideal, especially if they show error messages. Please be sure that any personally identifiable information is blanked or covered. Please also include what mobile device or computer you use as well as its operating system.

My story with suspended account

Please note that I am using another account (NOT the suspended one) to post this message.
I have been using skype account for about 10 years. I used it every week, sometimes every day. I am not using the free services. I pay regularly since I have skype phone service subscriptions and skype numbers. I also have more than $50 skype credit in my account.
Then, my skype account was suspended for no reason exactly on Chinese New Year day, when I wanted to call my family and friends to wish them happy new year. More ridiculous, I found it was EXTREAMLY difficult to get it unlocked. Though they have my email account and my phone number associated with the skype account, they don’t want to use such information to verify my identity (they do use my email to contact me and send informaton regarding unlocking the account).
Instead, I was asked questions like "when did you register the account (MM/YY)". I register the account about 10 years ago. How come I can remember in which month I registered account. It is JUST a skype account, not a wedding anniversary?
I was also asked to provide three skype names. I provided 3, and then was asked for 5. Yes, fortunately I have more than 5 contacts in my skype account. But I usually contact them by clicking skype names. I cannot remember their exact skype names.
During this process, there is basically no customer service. There is no way I can talk to a realy human-beinng. I really felt helpless. Now, I am still waiting for the account being unlocked. I really don’t know what will happen next.

Suspended Account for no reason?

Hey guys, recently my Skype account was randomly suspended for "your security."
Not exactly sure why, None of my password information was changed, no emails were sent to show someone had tried multiple times to login, infact the only thing I DID recently was test out your beta function for the web skype on my laptop to see how well it worked.
After that login, I did a VoIP call and passed out, only to awake and my skype account of SEVERAL years was now locked out and I am unable to retrieve any of my 150+ contacts.
They said a 24 hour wait, but it is well over that time now.
So do you wanna explain to my skype support why you locked my account? I would really appreciate it.

This seems like a bug on their end. Here is why.
I am able to sign into my laptop, for some reason, on my suspended skype account.
But if I access it threw my phone or desktop, it tells me it is suspended.
So... Skype support, what is the issue here? Why are you doing this?

Verizon support, please contact me through this or my email. My account is currently past due and is accruing charges. My family and myself have been in South Korea since June of 2014. I am in the military and stationed overseas. We plan on being here until the summer of 2016.
I need to suspend the account and fix the payments that have been piling up for a service I am not using.
I do not have access to twitter or face book.
Please respond soonest. Time is a luxury I do not have. As a commander of Soldiers overseas, I typically spend over 80 hours a week at work, am on call 24/7, and spend weeks at a time with no access to communications. If I do not have a response in the next 20 hours, you will not get a response from me until around 23 February, I will be away from any access to communications.

Now, would you happen to have someone state side that could help you with this situation? Maybe get a copy of your orders to them and they can help you get this taken care of? As Ann mentioned, you'll still be responsible for charges already incurred but at least you can help put a stop the future charges. The VZW reps don't always chime in and even if/when they do, they don't always respond in a timely manner. Your best bet would find a friend or relative in the states that would act on your behalf to get this taken care of. Unfortunately, I wouldn't put much hope into getting your situation resolved here on the forums.

Phone was just stolen abroad. Am having trouble suspending account.

Suspended account for years

imagine...a problem with my account starts in 2008. Despite many many years of calls and emails and chat sessions it still remains unsolved. Today the chat person tells me that the acocunt was created from an "illegal IP address".? After asking more questions he refuses to continue the chat and tells me that the account has actually been permanently suspended and he will not even discuss it any longer...!!! Unbelievable this service is rubbish. Since 2010 when we first found the problem we have never had any information from them, hopeless. We have only close friends and family, older family in fact whom cannot do the basic things like add a contact...we had to set up our parents computer for them because they are not techies at all.
Anybody got any ideas how to get this resolved.? They say account is permanently suspended but at least the free part is working. Frustrating taht i cannot put money into the account though...

SKYPE is in the EU and there are consumer protection agencies there that can get results from these con artist.

Suspending account and moving. No solution?

I have been a loyal and happy customer of Verizon for many years. I have sold my home and am searching for a new apartment to move in to. In the meantime, I am living with friends. I was hoping to suspend my service and transfer it to my new apartment when I find one. Unfortunately, this does not seem to be possible. Friday, Jan 31st, my service will be disconnected. The customer service agent was not able to suspend my account while I search for a new apartment, even though I was more than happy to pay the monthly suspension fees. Apparently it is not possible to have my service disconnected from my previous home address and suspended. Not only will I lose my account/number/etc., but I will be charged the early termination fee of $90, even though Verizon has no solution for me; a very disappointing way to end what had been a very positive experience. Part of the criteria for my new home was that they have Verizon service. I'll remove that criteria now. Has anyone had experience or know of any solution? I can't believe that this situation hasn't happened to someone before... Thanks,Chris

Copied from another post: I've used it for vacation hold, there is a one time charge of $25 I believe to activate it.So try to use this to suspend service while you find new apartment then transfer the service afterwards. Vacation holds need to be done on the phone so they can verify who you are. Doing it online can be problematic if there's some sort of security breach. Just talk to billing, tell them what's up and they should be able to mark your account for vacation. Verizon offers Seasonal Service Suspension to customers who will be away from their homes for an extended period of time.To qualify you must suspend your FiOS services for at least one month but not more than nine months.
There is a fee charged to temporarily suspend your FiOS services. To suspend your FiOS TV service for an extended timeframe and find fee information, contact us at 1-888-553-1555 for further assistance.

Hey guys im new to the community I just wanted some help on a problem I have encountered. th thing was i was automatically logged out of skype and i tried again with no luck. now I realize I am susposed to write a skype ticket , also i requested a password change just to make sure. everytime it gives me a verification code or click this link to bssically give me access to my other skype account but everytime It was telling me basically error but i just tried again and it said the code i used to change my password has been used so i tested it again with my email and it gave me a temporary 24 hour timer to change it again. after it said thati still do not have access to it . i have tried this method to get my account back with no luck. i even got a friend to try and help may be able to help me thank you

If you experience difficulty reaching Skype Customer Service, try again using a different web browser and choosing a different path through the various drop-down menu options presented. Also, look to approve a pop-up dialogue box which would connect you to start an instant message chat with a customer service agent. If you have pop-ups blocked in your browser settings, this will also impede reaching an agent.

I would guess this is an AIM valid Screen Name such as an Apple issued @mac.com account.
I would also guess you travel to other countries.
There have been several posts about @mac.com names and people who travel and use their Screen Name elsewhere having the name Suspended.

Is this where you saw the Suspended message ?
For AIM issued name the answer is to change your Password as this tends to prove you own the account.
This does not work for Apple IDs used as AIM Valid Screen Names as AIM can't tell when the password is changed (They can only see it when you log in)
AIM's Suspended Account page has an email ([email protected]) on it to contact if your account remains Suspended.
However you need to be very clear that you have an Apple Issued Name and that you know that resetting the password that works for AIM Names and that you would like them to reset the account.
More recently this has been a sticking point. It seems the Contact you get does not always know about the agreement that AIM recognises Apple Issued IDs as Valid Screen Names and that the AIM servers can only view the passwords at specific times (or at least confirm them) so you changing it will make no difference and that they have to step in manually.

There could be any number of legitimate reasons why Skype could proactively suspend an account. If you were instructed to change your account password, then do so! Best practice is to never re-use old passwords -- most systems will not permit you to do so, anyway -- and do not use the same password on multiple accounts.
