My story with suspended account

Please note that I am using another account (NOT the suspended one) to post this message.
I have been using skype account for about 10 years. I used it every week, sometimes every day. I am not using the free services. I pay regularly since I have skype phone service subscriptions and skype numbers. I also have more than $50 skype credit in my account.
Then, my skype account was suspended for no reason exactly on Chinese New Year day, when I wanted to call my family and friends to wish them happy new year. More ridiculous, I found it was EXTREAMLY difficult to get it unlocked. Though they have my email account and my phone number associated with the skype account, they don’t want to use such information to verify my identity (they do use my email to contact me and send informaton regarding unlocking the account).
Instead, I was asked questions like "when did you register the account (MM/YY)". I register the account about 10 years ago. How come I can remember in which month I registered account. It is JUST a skype account, not a wedding anniversary?
I was also asked to provide three skype names. I provided 3, and then was asked for 5.  Yes, fortunately I have more than 5 contacts in my skype account. But I usually contact them by clicking skype names. I cannot remember their exact skype names.
During this process, there is basically no customer service. There is no way I can talk to a realy human-beinng.  I really felt helpless. Now, I am still waiting for the account being unlocked. I really don’t know what will happen next.

    The only way to restore your account is to bring it current. A rep can't call you if your phone is suspended.

    This is my short but sad story with the Skype nonsense recovering procedure that have been mentioned so many times in the forum community whatsoever, I AM DONE WITH IT!!

  • Suspended Account

    I am unable to access my Skype account because it has been suspended.
    I have not logged into skype directly with the default client in long time, but indirectly with IMO all the time. I was on a call not a week ago and everything was fine.
    Now that I have been suspended and can not remember exactly which date I signed up for the service, nor a list of names in my contact list (Account names? I usually rename my contacts)
    Now without access to my account, I am unable to reference my answers therefore creating a catch 22. I have some very important contacts including a budding love interest that I only have access to through Skype. This software was created to bring people together, not to tear them apart because something decided that my account was being hacked. I have tried to find a local chat log on my PC for Skype but have turned up nothing. There is nothing Customer Support can do for my situation apparently, but there has GOT to be another way to prove that my account is indeed my own account. Wouldn't you think they would ask you for birthdate and such? I've honestly had less trouble proving my identity to banks.
    Please if anyone can help, give suggestions... I'm heart broken

  • Taken to the Ombudsman Service - My story with BT

    6 months with BT:
    We purchased our BT package; broadband, phone, and​ vision in January 2011, after we had moved house,​and previously were with Virgin Media.
    Upon purchasing our package we were informed by an​ advisor that we would be offered the Large broadb​andpackage, and 3 months half price for our whole ​package, to 'entice' us in. Our contract came thro​ugh, andunfortunately didn't show the information ​the advisor had provided us. So I contacted BT and​ submitted acomplaint; I was later emailed by the ​lady who had first informed me of the 'deal' which​ she eventually sortedout over a few email's. (I put to the back of my mind, that the advisors g​rammar was appalling, and she used'I' rather than ​'I', and was using some bizarre font's and colours​ in her email's). 
    I even contacted her manager, and provided positiv​e feedback for ensuring that the situation was res​olved. Atthis point, I was relatively happy with t​he Customer Service I received. 
    However, the positive feedback didn't last long - ​BT tried to debit £200 for a cancellation charge i​n February'sbill as the female advisor unpackaged ​my bundle, and didn't inform the relevant departme​nt of this. BT cutmy services during this time, as​ they thought I had cancelled my package. They apo​logised, and reinstatedthe services eventually.
    On 25 January 2011 I was having some technical iss​ues with our broadband and vision service, so cont​actedthe technical support department. I was strug​gling with the advisor as it was extremely hard to​ understandhim, and therefore asked questions a lo​ng the way to ensure I was doing everything correc​tly. The advisorseemed to get very frustrated and ​told me that I was 'stupid'. I immediately termina​ted the call and filed acomplaint. I received corr​espondence on 04 February 2011, to confirm that th​ey were unable to trace mytelephone call, even tho​ugh the Live Chat advisor confirmed the name and t​ime that the call was made.
    I was not happy with the response I received to my​ complaint, and later received an email to my work​ toapologise for the inconvenience. The Customer C​are representative confirmed the way in which the ​advisorspoke to me was unacceptable, and offered u​s 1 months' free Vision 'films', and offered to re​fund mytelephone call charges. Again, although get​ting my complaint through was a struggle, I was ha​ppy with theresolution.
    However, March's bill came through and I was charg​ed £12 for my 'free films', a £7.50 disconnection ​fee, an£11 charge, and £25 worth of bank charges a​s my bill somehow managed to amount to £67.00. Aft​er manyemail's, between advisors who could not spe​ll, and their English was really disappointing, I ​sent a letter toBT with 12 pages worth of correspo​ndence. 
    I finally received a reply approximately 2 weeks a​go, to confirm that my charges would be refunded o​ff mynext bill; I was unhappy with this as I wante​d the charges to be refunded to by bank account in​ order toindemnify me, as BT took me out of the fi​nancial position I was previously in, by erroneous​ly charging meduring March 2011.
    I had a lengthy telephone conversation with an adv​isor last week, after our services were disconnect​ed, toconfirm that April's bill was reduced to £20​.09 as they had refunded around £50 worth of charg​es. The advisorconfirmed that April's bill was ori​ginally going to be £75; they failed to break this​ down for me, which isunbelievable. I cannot see h​ow BT can justify charging £75 for services that f​ail to provide what they say theydo.
    I have now raised a complaint with the Ombudsman S​ervice (OS) as BT have provided a complete shamble​sof a service, both technically and with regard to​ Customer Service. I work in the Complaints Depart​ment foran Insurance Company; none of the above wo​uld be acceptable to us, let alone the way in whic​h wecommunicate with our customers.
    I have mentioned all of the above to the OS for th​em to consider, who will send a termination reques​t to BT.It's unfortunate that the whole situation ​has come to this, but as a consumer I refuse to pa​y for a service thatI am not receiving. I am curre​ntly receiving a 1.8 Mbps Internet speed, whereas ​Virgin Media will provide5Mpbs in the same area/po​stcode/house number.

    I just took 3 minutes and 42 seconds to load up a webpage, to then get told there is 'limited connectivity'; it must be such hard work for BT to run Broadband and Vision at once ....
    I'm not entirely sure why I am receiving the large internet package - for the purpose of using my PS3 online - as I cannot use it due to the poor connection.
    Okay, so we'll do another speed test:

  • Can un-suspend account

    My account got hacked, through no fault of mine i.e. I did not click on any links in spam emails.
    I filled in all the information to get my account released and got sent an email by skype.  The email has a link to a form to fill in further information.  The link in the email is broken.  So I am stuck with a suspended account I have had for seven years, and I have lost the skype credit I had before the account was hacked.
    I don't have a premium account so there appears to be no way to contact customer support.

    I am sorry to read of your experience in attempting to contact Skype Customer Service directly; you will be asked to verify certain account details in order to release your account.  That Skype will suspend an account as an anti-fraud measure is not unusual; please change your account password as well.
    Please post back with the details of what web browser you were using when you clicked on the link in the e-mail you received, along with the steps you took before the process would not permit you to continue further.   Screen shots would be ideal, especially if they show error messages.  Please be sure that any personally identifiable information is blanked or covered.   Please also include what mobile device or computer you use as well as its operating system.

  • Suspended account for years

    imagine...a problem with my account starts in 2008. Despite many many years of calls and emails and chat sessions it still remains unsolved. Today the chat person tells me that the acocunt was created from an "illegal IP address".? After asking more questions he refuses to continue the chat and tells me that the account has actually been permanently suspended and he will not even discuss it any longer...!!! Unbelievable this service is rubbish. Since 2010 when we first found the problem we have never had any information from them, hopeless. We have only close friends and family, older family in fact whom cannot do the basic things like add a contact...we had to set up our parents computer for them because they are not techies at all.
    Anybody got any ideas how to get this resolved.? They say account is permanently suspended but at least the free part is working. Frustrating taht i cannot put money into the account though...

    SKYPE is in the EU and there are consumer protection agencies there that can get results from these con artist.

  • Why can I not ge anyone to help me with my account?

    I have had problem with my account form day one. They are charging me for think's I have not done. I can not get anyone to help. Does anyone have away of getting with someone from Verizon that can help like be know. They charged me over $350.00 for disconnection of a number I never had any other fees. I hope someone can help me.

    Here is another unhappy Verizon Customer: Today, This is what I have sent to the President & CEO of Verizon Wireless:
    Service Issues
    I have been a satisfied Verizon Wireless customer for almost 20 years--until last August, when I chose to add two "jetpacks" to my account at your local sales store in Jasper, GA.   Since then I have had nothing but trouble, no help from your Customer UnService Department, and nothing but lies and UnService from your store.
    The store:
    A.Sales person said, according to my previous data usage (do not stream movies, do not stream music, etc.), that I would not exceed my previous 2GB per month with the addition of the jetpacks--they lied.  The jetpacks were using 90% of my data within two days.  I went back to the store at least two times  and all they could do was add more data at my expense (and apparently adding still more time to my contract.)  Still no solution--the jetpacks were using my data limit within a few days--it was being used while I was not using it.  There was no offer to investigate the problem or the equipment. When I went back to the store to return the equipment and ask to be put back on our "family plan", the store refused, saying it was TWO days beyond your 14-day return policy!  I could not believe the store response to the issues with the equipment.
    Sales person said that changing my plan to add the jetpacks would not effect the "grandfathered unlimited data usage"on << removed >>--they lied again! My son's unlimited data usage disappeared.
    Your Customer UnService Department:
    I first left a message regarding this problem in your community forum--which was answered with a promise to call me--the representative never called.
    I then called Customer Service, who basically said they could not help.
    I then "suspended service" on the two jetpacks and the note pad (which is still in the original box, unopened). The suspension date was due to expire on or about December 3.  On or about December 3 I again called your customer service and discussed the issues with "Julie" and then her Supervisor "Christine". Christine offered to let us extend the suspension date another 3 months, while I determined if I was going to continue to be billed for the jetpacks or pay the $475.00 fine for breaking the contract. I accepted her offer--but she never followed through!  I went out of town shortly after that; and much to my dismay, when I returned a moth later, I discovered that the jetpacks and the note pad had been turned back on by somebody at Verizon Wireless and that I was being billed for $200.00 plus for these worthless units, in addition to my regular monthly billing.
    I have paid my usual $198.00 plus for my monthly family plan service; I will most likely pay the $475.00 fine and I will continue to pay my monthly bill of $l98.00  until my contract on two of my four phones runs out. At that time I will probably opt to look for another wireless service.  In all my 50 years of adult life, I have never been treated so poorly by any of the companies I have had service contracts with.
    It appears that I am not alone with these issues--I read dozens of similar complaints on your community forum; and none of them appear to have any resolution from your customer service people.
    I am now getting phone calls from some collection company regarding amounts billed for service I did not receive and did not appear on my online Verizon account.   I will not pay these unwarranted fees; and ask that you advise the collection company to stop calling me.   if any derogatory information appears on my credit report I will file a complaint with the credit agencies.
    I would prefer to stay with Verizon Wireless; however,  If your customer service department cannot resolve this issue, take back the unusable equipment and credit my account with numerous charges, I will have no choice but to close my long-standing account and look elsewhere for service.

    iChat can't communicate with AIM account - I've looked at ALL threads and no success to troubleshooting

    I've tried changing my Port number - FAIL
    I tried restarting and deleting account - FAIL
    Tried creating a new account - FAIL, says there's an error
    Tried going through Go > Finder > Library > Preferences to delete the com.apple.ichat.AIM.plist - FAIL, couldn't find in the folder either
    Tried going through keychains and permissions - FAIL
    I've had the same account for over 13 years (maybe that's why, ha!) and I did nothing to change any settings. Please help! Work depends on it!

    If it is an AIM name (i.e. Registered at AIM) then there seems to be  a rush of Suspended Accounts recently.
    Some have found that touring abroad seems to be the latest reason.
    You then need to go to the Suspended Account Help Page and use the TOS General Email link.
    If you have an @Mac.com name that is of course a Valid AIM Screen Name as well as an Apple ID  means that the password has to be changed at Apple.
    However the AIM server cannot tell that this has been done.
    One person reported recently that the person they contacted via the TOSGeneral email link did not seem to know about the agreement with Apple that AIM has and that they had to change the "Flagging" on the account at their end.
    Although a "Hacking" of an AIM account is not unheard of it is rare.
    The TOS General link is still the best route I know of on that score.

    Time Machine does not do individual accounts. It records the complete drive. So if you were to use her TM backup on your Mac it would make your Mac just like hers. Both yours and her account on your MAC.
    Just copy the missing files over from her Mac to yours. If there are differennt programs on each then they would need to be installed on both.

While trying to set up the new family plan, I keep getting error messages. When I click on the invite email, I get this message: Cannot Join This Family. Which is crazy. Then, thinking it must be because I was still on the same device, I just set up OS8 on another device, and tried it again, with another error now coming up that says I have to Change the Country with this account. How do you do that? Why do you need to have all the accounts be in the same country? Hello, sometimes people live overseas, Apple!     The iTunes stores in different countries are entirely separate.  You can only use an iTunes store credit in the country in with it was created and purchased content cannot be shared across countries.  Family sharing groups must be country-specific, using iTunes store credits for purchases only within that country, and sharing purchases that were made in that country.  You can contact iTunes store support for more details on these restrictions here: https://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html.

    I've just begun setting up accounts for my family members on my iMac since we are all beginning to amass our own music/movies/videos/photos. Is there an easy way to have each account have access only to specific playlists within my iTunes library (which would be every song on the iMac)? I looked at sharing playlists in iTunes preferences but I don't see how to get it to work with each account.

    I just reread my post and I see I'm not being clear....
    I want the admin account to have the entire library while each user has access only to user-specific playlists.
