SVG Viewer 3.0 and Oracle XSL Servlet

Hello,
We have a small application that creates SVG graphs through the XSL Servlet. After upgrading the SVG Viewer to 3.0, the graphs stop working. I have searched metalink for any compatibility issues, but haven't found anything. Anyone else run into this issue?
Thanks
Scott

A separate SVG viewer should no longer be necessary as most web browsers will already support the format.  Have you tried opening the document in question in your web browser?

  • Change SVG Viewer?

    Hi
    Having a bit trouble with Adobe SVG viewer on speed and some rendering of legend titles in line chart, I would like to try out other SVG viewers.
    How to do that?
    I have downloaded and installed for instance AfterCAD, deinstalled Adobe, removed the call to the plugins.js which checks for SVG Viewer presence, but nothing happens when I try to render the charts?
    Any ideas? Can it be done? Or is Adobe 'hardcoded' in Apex?
    Best regards Jesper

    Never got it to work with 3.0 ( i imply windows, maybe on linux it works as advertised).
    With Beta 6.0 it works at least ( i personally prefer the native SVG support however).
    There is a little outdated ( but i think still valid ) discussion on this thema.

  • SVG and Oracle Spatial

    Hi,
    We plan to develop a SVG based viewer for Oracle Spatial. But maybe there exist free components or similar experiences.
    Is there any existing interface between SVG and Oracle spatial ?
    Is it necessary to combine SVG with GML ?
    Regards

    We have done this at FT by designing a mapping between SDO_GEOMETRY types and
    SVG elements (eg point -> <text>; multipoint <g><text>...</g>) etc.
    From this we let a contract to an external company (www.geometryit.com) who programmed
    up some Java classes that allowed us to go from SDO_GEOMETRY <-> SVG. These were then
    deployed within the database with before insert etc triggers automatically mapping between
    the two (the SVG is stored alongside the SDO_GEOMETRY as a CLOB).
    I can send you our documentation on this.
    If you want access to the Java code, contact Andrew Betlehem at Geometry.

  • Connectivity Problem with WPF Viewer and Oracle based imbedded reports

    I've been using code to modify the Database, Username and Password in imbedded reports for quite a few years.  Whether I was using C++ V6 or C# in VS2008, the process has been basically the same.  Now I am trying to use the WPF Viewer in VS2010 and am getting an "ORA-00942: table or view does not exist" error.  I perform a successful Connectivity Test and receive the error when I'm trying to view the report.
    If I comment out all of the code that sets the source of the data and performs the connectivity test, the report shows up in the viewer and I'm presented a logon window similar to what I see when i design the RPT file in Crystal Reports. i.e the "Server Name:" shows the name of the Oracle Database I used when I designed the report; the "Database: " is empty; the "Login ID:" displays an edit box and contains the User ID I used when designing the report; and the "Password: " displays an edit box in which I type the password.  Once I click on the OK button, the report is displayed in the WPF viewer.
    Here is the code starting after I have loaded the report into a ReportDocument:
    if(report.IsLoaded)
      CrystalDecisions.Shared.TableLogOnInfo crTableLogonInfo;
      CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.Tables crTables = report.Database.Tables;
      foreach(CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.Table crTable in crTables)
        crTableLogonInfo = crTable.LogOnInfo;
        crTableLogonInfo.ConnectionInfo.LogonProperties.Clear( );
        crTableLogonInfo.ConnectionInfo.Attributes.Collection.Clear( );
        crTableLogonInfo.ConnectionInfo.DatabaseName = null;
        crTableLogonInfo.ConnectionInfo.ServerName = MyDatabase;
        crTableLogonInfo.ConnectionInfo.UserID = MyUsername;
        crTableLogonInfo.ConnectionInfo.Password = MyPassword;
        crTable.ApplyLogOnInfo(crTableLogonInfo);
      report.SetParameterValue("StartingCPID", "AAAAAA");
      report.SetParameterValue("EndingCPID", "ZZZZZZ");
      if(report.Database.Tables[0].TestConnectivity())
        reportViewer.ViewerCore.ReportSource = report;
        reportViewer.ToggleSidePanel = SAPBusinessObjects.WPF.Viewer.Constants.SidePanelKind.None;
      else
        MessageBox.Show("Unable to Connect to Database in report.");
    Any idea what I'm doing wrong or what is different in this version?

  • Does safari 6.0.4 need and svg viewer?

    I am visiting a website and part of the site provides graphics. The graphics do not show up but the area where they should be tells me I need to download adobe's svg viewer. The website it takes me to is within Adobe but has no downloads for MACs plus it states that Adobe no longer supports SVG viewers. The information I have found is all dated years ago. What kind of questions should I ask the web site developer to find out why their site does not work in Safari?

    Quit Safari.
      Hold the shift key down and relaunch Safari.
    Reset Safari.
    Click Safari in the menu bar.
    From the drop down select "Reset Safari".
    Uncheck the box next to  " Remove saved names and passwords".
    Click "Reset".

  • Defining and Viewing BLOB Data in Oracle Application Express 3.2

    Hello All,
    There is a nice tutorial for working with images in Application Express 3.1 entitled "Defining and Viewing BLOB Data in Oracle Application Express 3.1". I have 3.2 and I am finding that I can't follow this tutorial... Is there any similar how to for 3.2?
    Thank you,
    Daniel

    Hi,
    I have just gone through the first steps in my OTN workspace app, and I do get the Implementation option (showing Interactive or Classic). In fact, my page at this point matches exactly the image shown in the tutorial.
    My OTN workspace app uses Apex version 3.2. The Interactive reports are relatively new, so older versions of Apex would not have this option. But you say that you are using version 3.2? If you just try to create a report page on, say, EMP, do you get the option to select Interactive or Classic?

  • USER_DEPENDENCIES view in oracle 11g and oracle 10g are different?

    I have tested oracle 10g and oracle 11g. And I found some different behavior in the user_dependencies view between two oracle version.
    In the oracle 10g, whatever referenced object is populated in the user_dependencies view. In the oracle 11g, however, only valid referenced objects are populated in it.
    For example, a package, pac_1, references table, ref_tab_1, and package, ref_pac_2. After ref_tab_1 is dropped and ref_pac_2 is invalid, I query to user_dependencies.
    sql> select referenced_name, referenced_type from user_dependencies where name = 'pac_1'.
    In oracle 10g, the result is like the following,
    < referenced_type > , < referenced_name >
    non-existent , ref_tab_1
    package , ref_pac_2
    In oracle 11g, the result is not showing non-existed object nor invlid object like the following,
    no rows selected
    Is that the TRUE or do I missed some when I installed database or created database in 11g?
    Is there a way to make the behavior of user_dependencies like it in 10g which shows all the referenced objets?

  • Oracle XSQL Servlet Parse Error when anchoring a link to an image

    I have a database of document links that I wish to portray in a table as graphic images. In other words, each image is a hypertext link to the document.
    From my HTML 101 I used to do this as follows:
    <IMG SRC="image.gif">
    Note, no </IMG> end tag, but this produces an image that I can click to access that document. Lousy form, but it works.
    When I run my XSL with corresponding XSQL file to create the HTML file I get the following Servlet Parse Error:
    Oracle XSQL Servlet Page Processor 1.0.1.0 (Production)
    XSQL-006: XSLT stylesheet is not well-formed: ucmDatabase3.xsl
    XML parse error at line 66, char 15
    End tag does not match start tag 'img'
    I then added the </IMG> end tag,
    <IMG SRC="image.gif"> </IMG>
    which satisfies the parser, but now I get my graphic image AND the underlined linked text together in the same table cell, which SUCKS...
    Is there a way around this madness?
    Thanks for your comments..
    Jon Kotas
    Boeing
    Canoga Park, CA

    Remember that an XSLT stylesheet is, in particular, a well-formed XML document. In a well-formed XML document, you
    cannot have an unterminated element like:
      <foo>
        <bar>  <!-- This elemenent is not closed correctly -->
      </foo>So, in your example, you're running into the problem with
    your <IMG> tag, since you have:
      <A>
        <IMG src="...">  <!-- This elt is not closed correctly -->
      </A>You just need to close the IMG tag by changing the closing > to /> instead, like this:
      <A>
        <IMG src="..."/>  <!-- This elt *IS* closed correctly -->
      </A>When it's written out to the browser, you'll see that the
    trailing slash will be removed, so the browser will be
    happy, too.

  • SVG Viewer not working

    I installed Oracle 10g (10.1.0.2.0) and the HTML Server and HTML DB from the companion CD.
    I then started looking at some of the examples and even create a quick application myself based on a single table. Any time I wanted to look at something that used an SVG Chart, I didn't see it, but rather a message telling me to install SVG Viewer. So I installed it (3.03).
    When it still didn't work, I checked my browser version (IE 6.0.2800.1106) and according to that, I believe it should be able to work.
    I noticed there was a new version of HTML DB (1.6.0.00.87) so I downloaded that and ran it to upgrade my installation.
    Still no go.
    One thing to note...if I go to the adobe test page, it works correctly.
    Is there a security setting that is preventing this from working in any HTML DB app?
    Thanks,
    Chad

    Hey Chad.
    Hope you get the problem figured out. We've had some really weird sessions with IE as well. As I recall though, deleting the previous version and reinstalling got it to work for us. Took me some significant time and since getting it to work, I'm a little dismayed by how easy it is to break the plugin. An example of this would be having and & in the name of one of the descriptive fields. This breaks it immediately. Several other problems have surfaced, but i just get weird error messages that give very little direction as to how to fix it.
    It's impressive when you have to display the data graphically though. Our admins loved it. (When it works.. :)
    Good luck and hope you get it figured out.

  • Struts and Oracle JDBC extension

    hi all,
    When I try to use the Oracle JDBC extension to take advantage of the Oracle batch update feature, I got an

    Hi scsi-boy:
    I have no trouble reading a Timestamp from Oracle...it's trying to write or update one (and unfortunately, I have to do as I said to get it done).
    you shouldn't have to import the oracle sql package
    That's precisely the point -- I am not trying to use any Oracle specific stuff.. It wouldn't be all that difficult for them to do the casting inside of the driver, instead they just add the following comments to their example:
           // Writing data to Lobs:
            // There are no methods to do this with java.sql.Clob/Blob.
            // For oracle.sql.CLOB there is getAsciiOutputStream() to write via
            // an ascii stream and getCharacterOutputStream() to write via a
             // unicode one, plus putChars() to write a char array and putString()
             // to write a String - both at a given position within the Clob.  For
             // oracle.sql.BLOB there is getBinaryOutputStream() and putBytes().
            // There are also oracle.jdbc.driver classes to do similar that
            // take oracle.sql.CLOB/BLOB as appropriate, namely:
            //       OracleBlobOutputStream()
            //       OracleClobOutputStream()
            //       OracleClobWriter()
            // (Note all three classes have corresponding input/reader classes.)
            // Hence to write data to the lobs here it is necessary to cast the
             // Clob and Blob to oracle.sql.CLOB and oracle.sql.BLOB respectively
             // and use one of the methods listed above.  E.g. to append to the
            // clob column:
            ((oracle.sql.CLOB)c_lob).putString( (int)c_lob.length()+1, "\nBye!" );The example can be found at the link shown below (you may have to do a free sign-up to view it):

  • Oracle Spatial and Oracle Forms

    Hi,
    Does anyone have experience with Oracle Spatial and Oracle Forms?
    I have generated a form, which is based on a view. The view uses the mdsys.sdo_relate operator. Somehow I am unable to get the form to perform (to get one record it takes over 20 minutes). While useing sql-navigator to process the same statement it seems no problem. The query that also uses the view, is then processed in 10 seconds.
    I also noticed that when text-functions like ' lower' of ' upper' are used to query the view, the query is processed within 15 seconds. If I don't use ' lower' or ' upper' it takes a long time (> 20 minutes) to process the query. Is it possible that this causes the bad performance of the form?
    On metalink I have found that forms and spatial do not cooperate because of the pl/sql version that
    forms6 uses. There is no solution presented, does anyone know of a work around?
    My configuration is:
    Oracle 8.1.7 on WIN2K @ PIII-800Mhz 256 Mb memory.
    Formsbuilder 6
    If requested I can post the queries that I have made.

    <br />
    I tried the same with the Crystal Reports 2008 trial version and i'm having the same problem.
    <br />
    <br />
    I don't wanna use the geometry column in my report but because of this error i can't use the whole table. Is there a way to avoid this error and still use the other columns of the table. Or maybe there is another way to connect to an Oracle database which can handle this special data type.
    <br />
    <br />
    Thanks in advance,
    <br />

    Jens Keller

    Hi Jens,
    Views would work also as you noted.
    No, if DB manufacturers change/update their Servers/clients they need to follow ANSII 92 standards. If they don't return the correct data type then CR will not "hack" our drivers to fix their issues. We did that for years and was a code nightmare, when they got around to fixing the problem it broke CR again. We decided to follow the standards, it may be our issue sometimes but in this case unique data types typically are not supported by CR. If you want support and it's not a client issue then add your request to the Enhancement Request2 post.
    So yes in your case it would make it easier but for others they'll be asking why CR doesn't show all fields. Same reason.... not a CR issue.
    Thanks agian

  • Trying to query data from a view - ORA-01882 and ORA-02063 Errors

    Hey there,
    I tried to query data from a view that was provided by a colleague. This view works fine and gives correct data using PL/SQL Developer or SQLPLUS, but in SQL Developer, I get the following error:
    ORA-01882: Time zone region not found
    ORA-02063: preceding line from SYSTOOLS
    01882.00000 - "timezone region %s not found"
    * Cause: Specified reason name was not found
    * Action: Please contact Oracle Customer Support
    Vendor Code 1882
    Where comes this error message from?! SYSTOOLS is the database link.
    Can't see an obvious reason for this error.
    OS is Windows 2000 SP4, SQL Developer is v1.1.1.25 BUILD MAIN-25.14
    Regards,
    Thomas
