I had a generic record class that has a HashMap to hold the data fields (...)
method called createRecord() for each record type which would populate the HashMap with the correct data fieldsI'm not sure I understand: are the contents of this field map the same between two records of the same type? Then yes, you don't need to clone the map per record instance.
one thing that needs fixing is the fact that each time the createRecord() method is called I'm creating a new fieldMap to define the dataFields in the record class.Probably, but that will only get you a little bigger files; you won't gain an order of magnitude on the size of files. The problem for huge files is that as soon as their content is bigger than the available memory, you'll run into problems. A more radical approach if you need to address huge files is to process the records on the fly, and not load all records in memory. Of course not all algorithms or business logic can afford that...
I know I could rewrite the code and create a class for each record type and declare the fieldMap static but I was wondering if anyone had any better suggestions The Record instance could receive and keep a reference to its RecordType instance, and ask the RecordType instance the DataType for a field's name. That way the RecordType encapsulates the map, and there's less risk that a clumsy other class modifies the static map.
before I go rewriting a load of code.A load of code?!? Even with the idea of the static map, you only have to edit the enum type (well more accurately, each RecordType enumerated constant's createRecord() method).

  • Update a Task in a Process Definition

I am trying to use the OIM API to update a task in a process definition. In the tcWorkflowDefinitionOperationsIntf, there is a method called updateWorkflow(WorkflowDefinition workflow).
With this method, I am able to update the process definition to make it auto-prepopulate, auto-save, and default process.  Is it possible to update a task in a process definition with this method?

A very simple example would be changing the description of a task.
E.g. Design Console -> Process Management -> Process Definition -> Modify the description of "Email Updated" task in LDAP User process definition .
I am wondering if I could use updateWorkflow(WorkflowDefinition workflow) to do the task above rather than using design console.

The code that i am using for updating the task outcome is as follows:
The error should not come as the context of user is same for acquiring and updating.
    IWorkflowContext wfCtx=wfSvcClient.getTaskQueryService().authenticate("oc4jadmin", "oc4jadmin",
                   "jazn.com", "admin");

Here admin is the user that belongs to group AdminGroup and the task is assigned to AdminGroup.
It was working fine a week ago on the same enviornment but from past few days am getting this error.
    The BPEL version is 10.1.3.0.
    Help appreciated!!

    hi,
    Thanks Marc for the reply.
Before acquiring the task , I have checked the acquiredby column in wftask table in orable schema and its value is null.
So it allows me to acquire the task. The error that i am getting is on updating the task outcome.
While updating it is giving error as: task already acquired by some other user.
This should not happen as the workflow context that i am using for acquiring the task and updating the task is same.

  • Running without Adobe Flash Player Updater Scheduled Task

I'm trying to understand how to avoid installing Adobe Flash Player Updater Scheduled Task.
I am also unable to remove the Scheduled Task using a script that works on other tasks, on the same workstations.
Is there an mms.cfg setting that will instruct the installer to skip the Task?
    1) Uninstall the Scheduled Task from all workstations in my environment.
    2) Install future updates without the Scheduled Task.
I have already tried mm.cfg with these lines:
    AutoUpdateDisable=1
    SilentAutoUpdateEnable=0
It still runs the update process every hour.
I have explained that it hasn't been causing a problem, but running this many processes on so many computers for no reason is causing some concern.
My organization also does not allow big bang automation included with this product.
Has anyone managed to shut off the Updater process from running?
    Thank you

    Hi Ethan,
try creating an MST file, with Fx, Wise package studio...
Edit the CustomAction “NewCustomAction1” added the parameter “-au 2” to the Command line argument.
you should do that for both:
    install_flash_player_11_active_x.msi
    and
    install_flash_player_11_plugin.msi
If you are using both of them..
Or you can delete the scheduled task with schtask /delete "taskname"

  • Java.sql.SQLException:ORA-01407: cannot update ("WAVESET", "TASK", "XML")

    Hi,
We are currently facing the above mentioned error while trying to install Sun IdM 7.1 in WebSphere 6.0. The same ear works fine in all my other environments (all are WebSphere 5). This is what we did
    1. Took a copy of the ear thats works.
    2. Extract.
    3. Modified the serverrepository.xml by using the lh command. Use the newly generated xml file in the extracted folder (WEB-INF), Pack it to a new EAR
    4. Configure the datasource that will be used to communicate with the Index repository.
    5. Deploy.
Deployment completes successfully. However, when we try to run a task, or import file using IdM admin console, we get this error 'java.sql.SQLException:ORA-01407: cannot update ("WAVESET", "TASK", "XML") to NULL'. we even checked the user permissions on this db schema. they all look good.
We also checked if we are using the right iiop port number in lh command.
We arent sure what could be the issue. I am not able to simulate this issue in other environment, as they all turn out to be successful.
    any pointers?
    thanks.

I still think it's a jdbc error.what is your DB platform?
is you ServerRepository.xml configured with a jndi data source (and that's why you use iiop)? If so then try to create a new connection through a direct DB URL like:
lh setRepo -tDBTYPE -uURL -Uusername -Ppassword -n -oServerRepository.xml
and then try to re-run your update command. if it fails again then please post the complete error message.. hope this helps

  • When is it safe to update a task sequence?

We have a fairly busy environment, with OSD happening all the time. We have been updating our major task sequences off hours, but I wonder if that is even necessary. After testing in QA, is it safe to update the task sequence at any time without bothering
or confusing workstations that are in the middle of an OSD operation?
I think I understand that the task sequence is pulled down to the local hard drive very early in OSD, and it doesn't return to re-read the task sequence after that. Is that correct? If that's true then we don't need to worry about workstations losing their
place in the task sequence if we update it while they are executing the task sequence.
Thank you for any light others can shed on this.
    Gary
Gary Knigge, Senior Systems Analyst Division of Technology Services University of Wisconsin-River Falls Wisconsin, USA

Correct, the machine downloads the task sequence at the beginning of the process and uses that cached copy throughout, so modifying the task sequence will not affect any deployments already executing.
That said, the biggest risk you face in modifying production task sequences is content. If you add a task referencing content that is not yet fully deployed and available, you will cause any subsequent executions to fail.  This is especially true of
adding new Driver Packages as there is a known issue with the content not being recognized as valid until Rev2 (you not only have to distribute it to your DPs but also subsequently update the DPs to rev the content).

  • Update Human Task Payload

I need to update a Human Task Payload from another BPEL Proccess. I tried using TaskService and I can set Outcome and Release the task but I cannot update the Task Payload.
I'm doing this using a JSP client and works well but I need to do that through a SOAP Service
    Somebody can help me?

Create your own variable-set and copy the outcome from the task to this variables with an assign-activity.
You can now modify them as you need.

  • Unable to update human task

    Hello,
I'm unable to update human tasks neither via SOAP nor within
    the worklist application.
With the worklist application I'm able to set the outcome though.
I'm able to fill the form on the Task Details Page, I press the
save-button, the browser loads the empty form again. Couldn't find
    anything in the server logfiles.
Trying to update the task with the soap-client results
    in the following fault-message:
Action UPDATE on task 737132c63xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxc3 is not
valid because of User does not have access/privilege to perform the action.
Trying to update the task outcome with the soap-client results
in the following fault-message (which works in the worklist app with
    the same user!):
Action OUTCOME_UPDATE on task 737132c63xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxc3 is not valid because of User does not have access/privilege to perform the action.
Furthermore the user I'm testing with meanwhile has all available
roles, so I don't know if the fault-messages actually have something
    to do with the error.
I configured the task parameter as 'Modifiable via worklist'.
    What did I miss?
    I use the SoaSuite 10.1.3.1.0
    Regards, Martin

    Hi,
Setting the elementformdefault of the task payload to 'qualified'
solved half of my problems. Updating and setting the outcome
in the worklist application works now. Thanks a lot for your hint
    again.
I'm still not able to update the task via Soap Client. I get the
    same fault-message:
Action UPDATE on task 737132c63xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxc3 is not
valid because of User does not have access/privilege to perform the action.
    Same with setting the outcome.
