in phone menu sw update I have option phone software update
what I need to know and to do before update, because I dont want to lose any information before update

Dear Nokia Team:
I have an error after installing the update to v30.2.004 with PC nokia software updater (I received the succefully message of correc install of update):
N97 mini RM-553

Error: After installing this update I coud not install application correctly in my phone.
I have made a hard reset to the phone twice... same situation.
Extrange is that I could install a few apps from Nokia Store (v. Ovistore_5250_prdsrv_1_16_006_40756) but other are impossible.
Also copying the installation file to the phone, is the same...
I have also the problem with app rpovided by Nokia in Store or in Beta Labs.
I have installed:

N97 mini.

in first hard reset (HR) I used the option of pressing the keybord keys.
In the second HR, first I format the E: disk with the file administrator, and then I use the code: *#7370#
the after the HR i reinstal the mobil soft with PC nokia software update.
I received the message of OK.
next, I run Ovi suite update and instal the optional updates (descrived in the post)
I also check them SW in the phone for OTA update, there i find the first error, regarding nokia music player.
shows pending update for Music Player 15.2 (1034) : not possible to install, error received
I start web explorer and goes to Ovi web page.
after been informed of an ovi App update I douwload and instal Nokia Store (that replaces Ovi Store) "Nokia store (replaces Ovi store) Ovistore_5250_prdsrv_1_16_006_40756"
then, in Nokia store I try to instal "My Apps" from my history. here I receive errors with some of them and not with others...
i also could not instal app if i download them directly to the phone, like from betalabs.

Im heard a rumors ab0ut new firmware update f0r N97 Mini 0n Q2 2011.. Is that true ? I hope this information is true c0z its been a years f0r this ph0ne using 0ld firmware.. I thinks its time f0r Nokia t0 make a new firmware f0r N97 Mini user..

N97 mini further updates (udates after v12.0.110)?...

Since jul 2010 n97 mini has recieved no updates .... many apps in it are now outdated like
1. music player
2. browser.
3. top apps dont work.
4. no interface improvement... like slow ks
5. etc...etc..
all other phone like my dads 5800 xm has recieved about 3 new updates.... all bringing improvement to the phone.....
please Nokia do something...
and i request a honest reply by a Nokia person on this post pls... also the tentative dates for update...

If you want a reply from Nokia then you have to ask Nokia, not post a question on a forum populated by other users of Nokia products like yourself.
The general consensus among users here is, however, that the N97 and N97 mini are abandoned products. They've not been updated since July and August 2010 respectively.
On the other hand, I did recently see a page on a Nokia site saying that some piece or other of software that they were pushing did require PR2.x (V2x) on the N97 mini and PR3.x (V3x) on the N97 to work correctly. Would Nokia be releasing software that will never run on phones because the required firmware will never be released? It would be a bit stupid, although I wouldn't put it past them.

[N97 mini - UPDATED] Well known bug: "camera alrea...

I updated my N97 mini device to latest fw which is 30.04.
Like whenever I capture image with my camera, after capturing image I can't interact with the handset.
Rather it shows "camera already in use".
I have to wait a lot more rather usual time in order to delete captured image or interact. Is there any solution of this?
I heard of some mod which arent authorized can fix it. But i don't trust those, neither I think is acceptable to be forced to put "custom" firmware to solve a problem Nokia should have fixed asap.
Of course I won't buy another Nokia cellphone anymore and I will discourage friends (and they are really many) to do the same because of lack of support.
Please:
- don't tell me it is a problem of my phone because it is not (all people with N97 mini have the same problem)
- don't tell me to reset it or to re-update firmware because it is useless (and I have already tried it)
- tell me you are awared of the problem and it will be fixed in the next coming firmware release because it is the only thing worth saying

N97 mini firmware update seriously needed

hi all,
Its been ages of waiting for a new update for the N97 and N97 mini, one which would do at least the following:
(1) better UI
(2) new and better browser with the latest flash support
(3) freer space on the RAM
(4) a social app for IM like facebook, twitter, myspace e.t.c
(5) smileys in our Instant messaging (fed up with words like smileysad)
(6) a UI that wouldnt use up batteries so fast

But as you said for chat 2.5 and the firmware update its till further notice. Please give heed to our plight and give us specific date and schedule as you have done for PR 1.1 & 1.2 for symbian ^3 devices.

OK friends, last Sunday once again I went to the customer care and told them about my homescreen problems they didn't care me. They Switch off and on again my phone gave it to me and said ur problem is solved.
They doesn't try to understand me.
Suddenly I got angry and fought with them. On the spot I pictured them and forward my complaint to the nokia' with in two days nokia officials contact me ask me about the problem and help me to solve that problem.
After that I'm not saw that problem again in my phone.
so if you have any serious problem pls forward your mails directly to the nokia.

N97 Mini - Does nokia have any plans to update??? ...

I have a very simple question.
does nokia still support this phone?
I have always been an avid nokia supporter, but, recently, i have started to question my loyalty.
I, like many thousands of other n97 mini users paid a lot of money for the phone, yet, we seem to be left high and dry... there has been no improvements added for the phone since the last firmware update, no additions.. nada.
are we all expected to keep this phone with the lousy 12.*.* software and get nothing but a slow, almost useless phone? or are we going to get some kind of update?
or has it gotten to that time when we all say Hi Android?????

If I remember correctly, the last update was supposed to be an "interim" update until the next version/release came out. For what it's worth, since nothing has been forthcoming from Nokia, I've installed N-Desk which installs a much improved desktop application, similar to the I-phone's, and Maze Lock which provides an easier to use locking application. With both of these installed, you have a more consistent, easier to use interface. Enough so my wife has stopped complaining about how long it takes to get something done on the phone.
I still hope Nokia will come out with another release in the near future.

I'm curious when will there be a new software update for Nokia N97 mini.
The latest update was on June or July last year v30.0.004
Would be cool to update it, don't you agree? Almost a year now....

Can't update software on n97 mini

Hi everyone, I have nokia n97 mini white with 11.0.102 version of software and want to update to 12.0.110 but can't. My phone find softvare, download it and start installing but after phone restarts instalation is canceld and when the phone starts again it says that the phone doesn't support update. So if anyone can help whit this, thanks

I've got a norwegian N97 Mini, and I still have not got the newest update for it, v. 11.0.0.45. When will it come to my phone. whenever i try the nokia software updater, it just says i have the newest
one (10 something).
It's been several days, why haven't i got it yet?

different suppliers have handsets 'branded' to there own specification, and will not allow you to update 'till they approve the update, if you go to your local store they may be able to shortcut the system, otherwise you just need to check NSU regulally untill update is 'allowed' on your phone !

Does anyone have an idea when is the Nokia N97 mini getiing a software update after 11.0.045?

nokia dont give dates for releasing firmware you will just have to keep checking
and remember updates depend on region/product code and network,ie network has to approve the update

But once i have seen a nokia 5230 with some kinda mack edition wich is really awesome and fluent! But i cant really find a place to download... Is there any chance i can get this edition for my phone????

N97 Mini update is not available for me !

I bought my Nokia N97 mini about 1 year ago
and software's Version was 11.0.045
it was kind of laggy so i made a hard Reset and searched for new Software
I searched through Mobile SW update and Nokia Suite
both of them Detected Software V12.0.110.209.02 so i updated it
but then i found that 30.0.004 was released so i searched again for the new software
but SW Update and Nokia Suite , Both said that all applications are up to date although I don't have latest software
So .. Any help with this problem so I can update to latest Versions ?

Remember, the Product Code really has something to do with the product. It might be called the same, it might look the same but it could have different hardware build in. My guess, and guess is all we can as Nokia does not disclose this information, that a keyboard layout, version of the transceiver, revision of cpu all have an influence on the firmware version that has been tested on the specific device and hence the product code.
But the two things are particular annoying 1) Nokia not telling why a specific device is exclude from an update 2) Nokia not disclosing if and when an update will be available. Not to mention that they don't inform their own support personell of 1) and 2) so these poor basterds are bound to give misleading and false information.
