N97 mini, no update available?

I've got a norwegian N97 Mini, and I still have not got the newest update for it, v. 11.0.0.45. When will it come to my phone. whenever i try the nokia software updater, it just says i have the newest
one (10 something).
It's been several days, why haven't i got it yet?

different suppliers have handsets 'branded' to there own specification, and will not allow you to update 'till they approve the update, if you go to your local store they may be able to shortcut the system, otherwise you just need to check NSU regulally untill update is 'allowed' on your phone !

Since jul 2010 n97 mini has recieved no updates .... many apps in it are now outdated like
1. music player
2. browser.
3. top apps dont work.
4. no interface improvement... like slow ks
5. etc...etc..
all other phone like my dads 5800 xm has recieved about 3 new updates.... all bringing improvement to the phone.....
please Nokia do something...
and i request a honest reply by a Nokia person on this post pls... also the tentative dates for update...

If you want a reply from Nokia then you have to ask Nokia, not post a question on a forum populated by other users of Nokia products like yourself.
The general consensus among users here is, however, that the N97 and N97 mini are abandoned products. They've not been updated since July and August 2010 respectively.
On the other hand, I did recently see a page on a Nokia site saying that some piece or other of software that they were pushing did require PR2.x (V2x) on the N97 mini and PR3.x (V3x) on the N97 to work correctly. Would Nokia be releasing software that will never run on phones because the required firmware will never be released? It would be a bit stupid, although I wouldn't put it past them.

N97 mini firmware update seriously needed

Its been ages of waiting for a new update for the N97 and N97 mini, one which would do at least the following:
(1) better UI
(2) new and better browser with the latest flash support
(3) freer space on the RAM
(4) a social app for IM like facebook, twitter, myspace e.t.c
(5) smileys in our Instant messaging (fed up with words like smileysad)
(6) a UI that wouldnt use up batteries so fast

But as you said for chat 2.5 and the firmware update its till further notice. Please give heed to our plight and give us specific date and schedule as you have done for PR 1.1 & 1.2 for symbian ^3 devices.

OK friends, last Sunday once again I went to the customer care and told them about my homescreen problems they didn't care me. They Switch off and on again my phone gave it to me and said ur problem is solved.
They doesn't try to understand me.
Suddenly I got angry and fought with them. On the spot I pictured them and forward my complaint to the nokia' with in two days nokia officials contact me ask me about the problem and help me to solve that problem.
After that I'm not saw that problem again in my phone.
so if you have any serious problem pls forward your mails directly to the nokia.

N97 mini wont update to latest software

heloo i bought this phone while i was on holiday in malaysia as my samsung galaxy note was stolen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and oh my god.. it wont update to 30.0.004... rite now it just says rm 555 10.0.020... it sux!! very buggy.. kinda need a new update fast...the software version date is 14-10-09... 2 years ago?? r u kidding me???? I suggest backing up your data via Nokia Suite, then perform soft reset by pressing *#7780# followed by your security code. Then retry your software update by following the instructions below.
If you use a PC, Nokia Suite can check your phone’s current software version and download new versions when they become available, using your PC’s internet connection.
Nokia Suite also helps you to back up your contacts and photos, synchronise your calendar and update other applications such as Maps.
To update your phone’s software using Nokia Suite on your PC:
On your PC, open Nokia Suite and connect your phone
In Nokia Suite, select Tools > Software updates.
From the list of available updates, choose what you’d like to install.
It’s free to download and use Nokia Suite. It runs on Windows 7, Windows Vista and Windows XP.

Works nice for me with V0.9! The bluetooth sync is ok. Can't have the sync by usb. But I'm not sure isync works by USB cause it tells when I tried that the bluetooth is not activated so it can't sync...

Available colours for N97 Mini

I was about to purchase a N97 Mini, however the retailer I was going to buy it from offered it to me in White or Pink. According to the official Nokia website, the N97 Mini is only available in Garnet (the coffee brown colour) and Cherry Black.
Are there more than these two colours avilable? I do not want to purchase an illegal product!!

Special editions are released for a variety of reasons, such as a local company's promotions act of some sort for example. These special edition phones often have special apps which come with it alone. These apps are embedded into the firmware. Now because of that, these special edition phones require a specific firmware for it, as they have a different product code from the generic phones. I am not sure how this works, but AFAIK the special edition phones only receive firmware either when the company which chartered the release of the special edition requests for it, or approves the release of the product's firmware update.

N97 mini cherry black colour availability for arab...

Hello, THe N97 mini has been available in the middle east for over a month now. But it is only available in the garnett colour. I asked the local resellers, and Nokia Care about the availability of the cherry black colour, but no body knows.
I really like the phone very much, and was ready to buy it the day it became available. But i need the black colour. I need to know if it will ever be available in the middle east (arabic keyboard), and when.

Any pictures of it?

N97 Mini update is not available for me !

I bought my Nokia N97 mini about 1 year ago
and software's Version was 11.0.045
it was kind of laggy so i made a hard Reset and searched for new Software
I searched through Mobile SW update and Nokia Suite
both of them Detected Software V12.0.110.209.02 so i updated it
but then i found that 30.0.004 was released so i searched again for the new software
but SW Update and Nokia Suite , Both said that all applications are up to date although I don't have latest software
So .. Any help with this problem so I can update to latest Versions ?

[N97 mini - UPDATED] Well known bug: "camera alrea...

I updated my N97 mini device to latest fw which is 30.04.
Like whenever I capture image with my camera, after capturing image I can't interact with the handset.
Rather it shows "camera already in use".
I have to wait a lot more rather usual time in order to delete captured image or interact. Is there any solution of this?
I heard of some mod which arent authorized can fix it. But i don't trust those, neither I think is acceptable to be forced to put "custom" firmware to solve a problem Nokia should have fixed asap.
Of course I won't buy another Nokia cellphone anymore and I will discourage friends (and they are really many) to do the same because of lack of support.
Please:
- don't tell me it is a problem of my phone because it is not (all people with N97 mini have the same problem)
- don't tell me to reset it or to re-update firmware because it is useless (and I have already tried it)
- tell me you are awared of the problem and it will be fixed in the next coming firmware release because it is the only thing worth saying

Remember, the Product Code really has something to do with the product. It might be called the same, it might look the same but it could have different hardware build in. My guess, and guess is all we can as Nokia does not disclose this information, that a keyboard layout, version of the transceiver, revision of cpu all have an influence on the firmware version that has been tested on the specific device and hence the product code.
But the two things are particular annoying 1) Nokia not telling why a specific device is exclude from an update 2) Nokia not disclosing if and when an update will be available. Not to mention that they don't inform their own support personell of 1) and 2) so these poor basterds are bound to give misleading and false information.

EFI Update available for mid 2011 Mac Mini

New update available today, check Software Update for the download and follow instructions to update correctly.

And be smart. Backup first and install ONLY the EFI update. Do any other updates separately. Most problems with EFI updates seem to come when people install other updates at the same time. One at a time to be safe, as an EFI update can turn your mini into a brick if it encounters problems.

I have an ipad mini and the updates tab on appstore is not showing anything once i open it. It shows that there are three updates available but when i open it there is nothing. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

My ipad mini is showing nothing when i open the updates tab on appstore whereas it continously shows three updates available on homescreen.

There are a number of other threads from people reporting a problem with a blank Updates tab in the App Store app - it looks like there is a problem at Apple's end which they need to fix.
Some posts are suggesting that you if you go into the Purchased tab in the App Store app you might be able to update the apps from there, though you will need to scroll through the list to find those with updates and individually update them.

N97 Mini Available

Just seen a TV advert for the new N97 mini and it was advertised as available on Vodafone. Checking the Nokia UK website, it no longer says available for pre-order and is available.
No sign of availability on the N900 yet though, still pre-order only.

Anyone here would have to be sick in the head to pick up a Mini. It has twice the RAM and everything else is inferior by a factor of 10.
The software is the same, and I think we would all agree that is the largest short coming of the N97.
Not trying to be mean, but, I think we've all learned our lesson given what else is available on the market.
I love my purple screen, 1/2 day battery, sketchy touch screen and $800 price tag - I call it my Lumia 900
