Swf doesn't go to next frame after publishing??

Hopefully a very simple fix here. I test my movie in Flash, even open it directly with the browser, and all is well. The gotoAndPlay works, and my animations look fine.
However, when I publish the movie, and then test in the website, it stops after the first frame! What gives?
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Are you using some sort of actionscript comments like stop(); in the frame which might stop it playing once been loaded? If you want the gotoAndPlay to go to any specific frame you normally have to give them the frame number so something like gotoAndPlay (5); This tells it to go to frame 5 on the timeline.

    I know this should be the simplest thing to do, but I can't

  • GotoAndPlay next frame after external flv finishes

    The subject title pretty much tells it all.  I've got a flash project where a video component plays an external flv file.  I've got a different flv file loaded at each keyframe.  Right now the flv plays and then it stops and waits for you to click on the next video you want to watch.  I want it to automatically go to the next keyframe and start the next video.  Any suggestions?

    Ok, I just found something that may help you help me..I'm not the one who originally created this component so I wasn't quiet sure how it was done but your question got me to investigating.  It looks like I'm using exactly what is described here, http://www.meshybeats.com/components/userguide.htm.
    Here's their example of what I could do to trigger something at the end of the video playing:
    var myListener = new Object();
    myListener.end = function(eventObject):Void
    trace(eventObject.target);
    trace(eventObject.type);
    trace("video ended");
    myDisplay.addEventListener("end", myListener);
    I'm not sure how I would manipulate that to have it go to the next frame though.  Any thoughts?

  • SWF header duration reduced to 2 frames after using a Motion Preset

    It seems that after you apply a Motion Preset the header of an exported SWF reports an incorrect duration of 2 frames even though its much longer. Also, after removing the elements that are related to the Motion Preset, the SWF still reports 2 frames, even though the timeline is longer.
    This has been replicated on multiple systems. I tested it by created a SWF with a main timeline of 175 frames, reading the correct duration, then adding a random motion preset and reading only 2 frames.
    I believe that the updated SWF spec shows no changes to the header. Anyone know why this happens and if there's a way to get the correct duration in the SWF file header?
    Flash CS5 on Windows 7, 64-bit

    Looks like he has fireFX instance on the timeline. Most probably this instances symbol base class is com.gskinner.effects.FireFX
    You just need to create a directory structure that reflects his package:
    com/gskinner/effects/
    where you place his FireFX.as
    Or, alternatively, you can remove package path from the class header and place FireFx where all you classes (or your application) are:
    package com.gskinner.effects {
    to
    package {
    Then you will just need to instantiate the class.

    thanks for the correction kglad,
    flominton,
    Looks like you're new to Flash like me. Let me walk you through what I've done for my project.
    I opened up a AS2 project in Flash, created three layers (video, postcard, actions)- bottom to top.
    In video layer click on the first frame, and import your flv video. Once the importing is done click on the FLVPlayback on the stage and give it an instance name "player". Right click on the first frame on video layer and open up actions panel, enter this code:
    stop();
    player.addEventListener("complete",function (event:Object) {
    gotoAndStop("LabelNameHere");});
    Now, click on the second frame on postcard layer. Create a keyframe, and in the properties panel give your frame a label. I gave it the name "postcard"  for example. So whatever name you put in the label name area, write it in the code where it says "LabelNameHere". Assuming you have the image you want to put after the video plays in your library panel, drag the image on the stage while you're still in the second frame on postcard layer.
    You dont have to do this part, but after I draged the image on the stage I converted it to a movie clip and created an alpha transition. Let me know if you dont know how to do this.
    If you'd like to link your image to a URL follow these steps. After I converted the image into movie clip, I right clicked on the image on the stage and opened up the actions panel and entered this code:
    on (release) {
        //Goto Webpage Behavior
        getURL("https://www.yourwebsite.com","_self");
        //End Behavior
    Finally, go to your actions layer. make sure this layer has equal number of frames as the the postcard layer does. Insert this code in the last frame of actions layer:
    stop();
    I hope this helps.

    Hi,
    Look at the Post Action of a Step, you can set this to do a number of tasks, one of which is to invoke a SequenceCall. You have the option to do a post action on a PASS, FAIL or you can perform a Custom Post Action.
    Hope this is what you are looking for

  • Crop Tool -- shortcut to advance to next frame since forward arrow doesn't work in crop tool?

    Hi,
    As a pro, I crop all my photos.
    I normally use the forward arrow to move through each image, but with the crop tool the forward arrow doesn't work for advancing to the next frame.
    It only adjusts the crop.
    This is extremely frustrating for me as it slows down my workflow.
    Is there a one key shortcut, within the Crop Tool -- that permits us to move forward from frame to frame?
    I wish the forward key worked for this within the crop tool!
    Is there an easy answer or a way to format something in Lightroom -- so I can have a one-key method to advance frames within the Crop tool?
    thank so much, Teri

    Thank you so much Jim, really appreciate you're taking the time to get back to me... its so helpful and now I can get my jobs done!
    I just tested it on my Mac and it worked with the Command + arrow Key...
    However, using two fingers for this shortcut is a little clumsy and uncomfortable...
    I think there's a way to create your own keyboard shortcuts -- do you know how to do this, maybe assigning a single key which would be a little easier?
    Thanks again so much for taking the time to answer this Jim and hope you have a great night!
    all the best, Teri

  • ITunes doesn't play the next song, it just stops after one track.

    I have iTunes 11.0.1. When I play a song in my playlist, I expect the next song to start as the first one ends, but iTunes stops and doesn't play the next song. I'm missing some sort of setting but what?
    It's not a smart playlist, just a playlist of favorite music I've built up over the years.
    Mountain Lion.

    Have the tracks become unchecked? iTunes will skip unchecked tracks, so if they're all unchecked, iTunes will play one and then stop. If this is indeed the case, re-checkmark the tracks - Command-click will select or unselect them all - and you should then have continuous playback.
    Hope this helps.

  • Embedded swf file doesn't work after publishing

    I am creating a lecture slides with embedded flashed swf which is created with AS3 including animation. It works well inside Powerpoint, butitdoen't work after publishing and running with web browser. My powerpoint version is 2007 and Adobe presenter is 7.07. I already look for soltutions by searching but I can't find one.

    Thank Shubhi. I have found out the key problem of not running when embedding a flash into Adobe Presenter is that the Main class must be inherited MovieClip not Sprite as I created it before. Now it works perfectly for flash versions created from both Adobe Flash Pro. CS5.5 (11) and CS4 (10).

  • Can't go to next slide after adding advanced action to answer and other

    Hi,
    I'm creating a quizz and there are some problems I can't
    solve.
    I have a flash project with login page, where user should
    fill name, company and e-mail. To this e-mail I have to send the
    results of the quizz. After you correctly fill the gaps and click
    OK, my flash aplication starts within the Adobe Captive 4 project
    (swf file). And now problems:
    1. In my captivate project: I have a question, 3 answers, 3
    possible attemps and one correct answer. If user answer wrong,
    there is a grey hightlight box, which should apears over my chosen
    wrong answer and stay there to mark already chosen answer and there
    is also a text animation "Sorry, your answer is not correct." under
    the quizz (on the same slide), which appears instead of error
    message. No problem, it works, I made a script for it, which is
    joined to every wrong answer (in Edit Question > (Answers)
    Advanced > Execute Advanced Action). But the problem is with
    correct answer (it shows text animation "Congratulations!" and
    green hightlight box). If I specify the event on correct answer and
    then submit the right answer, it shows the hightlight box, the text
    animation, but it doesn't continue to next slide! It stucks despite
    of the
    settings Edit Question > Options > (If correct answer)
    Action: Go to next slide). If I add new statement to my
    script, which is "Go to next slide" and then click on the right
    answer, it immediately jump to next page and doesn't show the
    hightlight box and the text animation. How can I wait until the
    duration of the animation ends and after that go to next slide?
    Script for the advanced action on my correct answer is:
    -> show rightHighlightBox
    -> show congratulationsText
    2. I need another pass fail option, for example - I have 30
    questions - 3 answers, one correct, 3 attemps. User submits wrong
    answer, but then he choose the right one, but he choose the wrong
    one at first ---> 0 points. It's e-learning and I need to allow
    users to correct them.
    3. How can I export the value of correctAnswers to my flash?
    Is it possible?
    Thank you very much for reply!

    Hi,
    You need to add a "Continue" statement at the end of your
    script otherwise you will have to click on Skip to go to next
    slide.
    And all the Quzzing information can be accessed from Flash
    using the Quizn variables.
    thanks

  • How do I optimize "Waiting for the next frame"

    When running my swf file in release build, the first time I start the browser after cleaning the browser cache, the .swf will appear in less than a second.  If I attach scout, I can see it is around .7 seconds to finish.
    However, after this run all subsequent times I load the page, it takes ~3 seconds.
    When I look at scout, I see almost identical CPU and memory use , but it is spending ~2.3 seconds "Waiting for the next frame".  (almost an extra 700ms per frame).
    There is no requirement for animation, all of the content is very static.   I'd just like to render it as fast as possible.
    I know it's not related to caching the .swf file because I have tried turning off the caching (by adding a random parameter) and verified using Httplogger that it is always downloading a new .swf file.  (I turned back on caching).  So I'm kind of not sure what to do next...
    What things can I try to optimize this?  Are there places I can read about this issue?
    (P.S.  >>  I notice it spends a lot more time "Waiting for the next frame" when I build a debug version.  Don't know if that's relevant...)
    Thanks!

    There's nothing you can do about "Waiting for next frame" - this is simply the time when Flash Player has finished doing everything it needs to do for the frame, and waiting for the OS to wake it up again. This depends on the framerate you set in your swf - roughly speaking, the waiting time is the budget (1/framerate), minus the time Flash Player spends doing actual work.
    You can find more information here, about understanding how the data you see in Scout relates to how Flash Player works:
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/scout/articles/understanding-flashplayer-with-scout.html
    btw, you shouldn't look at performance in a debug swf - you'll get wildly misleading results.

  • Accessing children on frames after gotoAndStop

    Hi
    I have an SWF file where I want to access symbol instances on
    frame 2.
    I have noticed that after I call gotoAndStop(2); it takes a
    little while before the symbol instances are instantiated.
    I get null ref exceptions if I immediately access the
    children on a frame after calling gotoAndStop, but if I wait a bit
    it works, because it seems as if the children have had time to be
    instantiated, see examples below.
    I prefer not to rely on delaying my code, but would rather
    prefer to listen for an event that could notify me when a frame is
    properly "initialised", that is, when all symbol instances have
    been instantiated. Is there such an event and if not, is there
    another solution ?
    Examples:
    mc2 is a movieclip.
    1) This gives null exceptions because the child of frame 2 is
    null when accessed.
    mc2.gotoAndStop(2);
    for(var i:int = 0; i < mc2.numChildren; ++i)
    var child:DisplayObject = mc2.getChildAt(i)
    trace(child.name);
    trace("done");
    But it works if I wait a bit, because apparently I have
    waited enough to allow the child to become instantiated:
    mc2.gotoAndStop(2);
    var intervalId:int = setInterval(callback,100);
    function callback():void
    clearInterval(intervalId);
    for(var i:int = 0; i < mc2.numChildren; ++i)
    var child:DisplayObject = mc2.getChildAt(i)
    trace(child.name);
    trace("callback done");
    trace("done");
    Is there an event that can be used instead of relying on some
    delay ?
    Best regards Stig Nielsson

    My guess is that you are waiting for the timeline to advance
    to frame 2, which doesn't happen instantly, it follows the frames
    per second rate you establish for the file. If the frame 2 clips
    don't exist in frame 1 but that's where your code (which does act
    instantly) starts looking for them, then it was probably looking at
    frame 1 when it ran the code.

  • Pixelated frames after preview render

    Hello -
    In Premiere Pro CS6 I’m encountering a problem after rendering preview files from H.264 source footage: every 25 frames or so becomes very pixelated in PrPro. The source footage plays fine in QuickTime. At first I thought it might be caused by the way PrPro is interpreting the frame rate; it insists that it is at 25 fps, but the footage is actually 23.97 fps. I thought I could solve this by selecting the clip and going into “Modify Clip” >  “Interpret Footage” > “Assume this frame rate: 23.97 fps”. I also changed the Sequence Settings to match the Clip Settings when prompted to do so, but after completing another render, the pixelation still shows up. I’m on a 15” MacBook Pro Retina, Mavericks, OS X 10.9.5.
    Any help would be much appreciated.
    The image appears steady before pixelation pops into the next couple of frames, then goes
    steady again. The pattern repeats every 25 frames or so.
    My Sequence Settings.

    Okay, I think I have things figured out. Just to give a little background of the process, my original source media is in .mkv format, which I’ve discovered doesn’t work in Premiere Pro, so I converted that media to H.264 and tried to edit with that. Well, after doing a little research, I’ve discovered that sometimes H.264 is not the ideal format in which to edit, and maybe this is why I’ve experienced bad frames after performing preview renders?
    Anyway, the solution that works for me is to just transcode all my original .mkv files into Avid DNxHD files. I tried MPEG Streamclip to convert, but with 98 minutes of 1920 x 1080p footage, it proved to be excruciatingly slow on my MacBook Pro, especially while trying to maintain 100% quality. I also tried VLC, but it doesn’t seem to support the DNxHD codec (unless I’ve overlooked something). The software I ended up using was Wondershare Video Converter Ultimate. Sure, I had to plunk down $59, but so far it has been money well-spent! Super-fast conversions, and it really helps that it can make use of the CUDA GPU
    For all you seasoned video editors reading and laughing, forgive my novice discoveries in all this - video editing is still new for me.

  • Run a method next frame?

    Hi.  I'm new to Flex.  I want to expand the root of a TreeList with myTree.expandChildrenOf(myTree.dataProvider[0], true) but this does not work for one of two reasons:  either the [0] node doesn't exist yet (even though I just loaded it with data), or the tree draws the default (collapsed) view immediately after this line.  Is there a way to delay execution until the next frame?  Is there an event I can use?  Is there an expanded property I can set on the root node in the dataProvider?  I'm using Flex 3.3.  Thanks.

    I think the problem may have to do with the fact that Flex is asynchronous.
    You call myTreeResults.LoadData() and then soon thereafter you call myTreeResults.ExpandRoot(), but because Flex is asynchronous the data may not be loaded yet.
    You would be better off calling myTreeResults.ExpandRoot() in the data loading result handler, or in whatever function loads the data, right after you have put the data in the dataprovider.
    If you are using "lastResult" then you need to make changes to use a ResultEvent handler.

  • Cue point to jump to next frame of movie

    Hi. I'm a bit lost assigning an action script created
