I'm trying to embed swf into HTML+JS AIR app with no luck.
First, I created flash library with this class in default package.

The Alert function, for example, works by creating a sprite and adding it to the Flash display list. Since your embedded SWF is not on a stage, there's no way for it to work.
You can can possibly use certain non-visual parts of the framework, such as the rpc package, but I can't guarantee it.

Problem when i put swf into html page

Hi, My swf is working:

swf it slides over to the left when you rollover, but on the html
page, it doesn't work.

Embedding SWF into HTML

Hi. I am trying to make a SWF open a new browser window when
it is clicked, acting as a Splash page that opens the main page. I
want the main page to open in a new window 800 x 600 with none of
the address bar, toolbars etc. I've managed this but there are
three problems:
1. The little grey strip at the bottom that says "Done",
"Internet" etc, I think its called 'Status' still appears even
though I've set status to no.
2. The code I've used in flash to spawn the new browser
window works with Firefox but not with Internet Explorer.
3. The SWF's play slower in a browser.
I have included the code I've used below. Can anybody help?

to .ste (I tried to translate from my German library): The file extension ".ste" characterizes the site definition files of DW. A ste file is an XML-based text file which contains information about a DW made site. These include the site name, the site address and the server model.
ste files can be imported and exported by using (translated from my German DW: 'Site -> Sites verwalten' ) 'Site > Manage Sites'. Please note it's a settings file and not a backup.
What concerns the embedding problem: Please send a link to your website in question, no matter how it looks like , so we can better analyze.

Load AS2 swf into AS3 swf problem

I have a flash with AS3 and inside this swf i load in a AS2 swf.
to load swf works just fine, but the problem is when i load this i want to go to
a specific part of it, for example i want to go to frame 3 in the loaded swf.
i must control this from the AS3 swf, does someone know if this is possible?

Problems with embedding swfs into Director 11.5

Hello everyone,
I am hoping someone can help me and please bear with me - I don't know a lot about director - I can do some Lingo and get around in the program to make things work.
Right now I am working on an interactive presentation where the user can click a button to view an animation. I am using Director 11.5 for my presentation and have made my animations in After Effects CS3 -- from there I converted my .mov files to .flv files using the Adobe Media Encoder CS4... then I took my .flv file into Flash and published it as a swf file.
The problem that I am having is that when I play the presentation (within Director and after publishing the .app/projector file) the swf files are playing - but there is all this glitchy-artifact stuff all over them. Does anyone know why this would be happening? When I play the swf files in the flash player they look great. Before, when I was using Flash MX and Director MX, I never had any problems with embedding my swf animation files - and they played great - without any artifact. Any and all help would be much appreciated as this project is due in the next few days and I would prefer to figure out a solution rather than uninstalling Flash CS4 and Director 11.5 - and going back to MX.
I toyed with the thought that my video card isn't good enough but I tested the .app file on another machine and the glitchy-artifacts were still there. I have attached a jpg showing the artifact that appears.

Sorry... here is the image again and I think the problem might be my machine -- it is very old (~4+ years) and when I tested my .app on a newer intel mac here it worked fine... but maybe I am missing something -- it seems odd that I can see the swf fine in flash player but it is glitchy when played through director or the .app projector file

Just wanted to correct something you said, simply because beginners are reading these forums and may get confused.
You can not convert any image into an html file. An html file is simply a text file that uses tags that can point to an image file.
Web browsers normally accept jpg, png, and gif files, so you can convert your psd file into one of those three formats and let the html file point to it.

SWF won't play onced inserted into html page, though plays in absolute paths

I have embedded a SWF in my index page. The background image saved in the FLA shows up, but none of the remaining content. If I put in the URL to the actual SWF and HTML files, however, everything works fine.

.Swf file full screen problem

Hi, i'm using FMS 4.0 to perform an rtmp stream and an .swf player, built in Flash professional to open the stream!
My problem is that when i embed the swf into my site (www.livezone.gr), all the buttons work except of the full screen button! To embed the swf file i have uploaded it to my web server first in a folder which also includes the Skin.swf file and
i use the following code to embed it :

The problem is only when embeding it,otherwise when i open it directly from my webserver or my pc everything works fine!

open the fla that published your swf. click file>publish settings, tick html if it's not already ticked. click the html tab>click the template combobox and select flash only - allow fullscreen.
then click file>publish.
you should see your swf file (re)published and an html file in the directory with your fla.
put the flash published swf and html in the same directory with your iframe containing html file and change your iframe tag to:
<iframe src="Live%20Streaming%20player1.html" frameborder="0" width="610" height="480" ></iframe>
assuming that's the name of the html file published by flash.

Convert template into html

Hi
Is it possible to simply convert a template back into html
and so get rid of all "not editable regions". In one of my
templates I have problems with not being able to make an header
editable again.

This template is a mess.
You have two editable regions named head -

In addition, if you REALLY pasted in the whole page's code,
there is no
doctype, no <html>, no <head>, and no
<body> tag.
I'm guessing DW complains quite a bit when you try to do
anything with this
template.

Embed SWF into blog

Hope this is the right place to ask. I am having trouble embedding a SWF file that I created into my blog page. I tried to upload it to sites.google.com but the direct link to the SWF file is hidden behind an https:// that I can't get rid of and other people can't see it. How can I embed a SWF into blogger? Are there other free sites where you can simply upload files and link directly to them?

I have also had this issue since www.megaswf.com started charging for hosting services. The solution I found was to host the file on Google Sites as you mentioned, however I created a FileCabinet page, using a blank google template (you can google how to do this) and this enabled me to host the file.
Once the file was hosted, I simple looked up an appropriate html code to embed into Blogger, such as the one here: http://www.free-video-hosting.net/embed-flash.php
When you paste in the url from the google site, it creates a ton of numbers at the end of the URL. You need to delete everything after the .swf of your filename. You need to replace the words "video-filename.swf" with your url both times that it appears.
I hope you have solved the problem by now and hope this is able to help some others...

Error 2044 when loading external swf into my site

Ok what i have is a site made from 1 flash file where i am loading external swf files for my picture galleries. now what is happening is in Flash, dreamweaver and when i test the site, everything is working perfectly, the problem is coming when i go into internet explorer go to the site and click on the flash button to go to the picture gallery, that is when it is giving me a Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2036: Load Never Completed.
does anyone know why this is happening and a possible way to fix it? thanks

Flash beginner... insert SWF into web page and create play button

I am trying to insert and SWF into my webpage. I have 3 problems, 1. I am new to flash and aren't any good at it yet. 2. How do I tell the movie to stop at the end, and insert a "play again" button? 3. What do I need to do to insert that into my webpage.
I realize these aren't yes or no answers, so I even appreciate input on the best way to learn Flash for myself.

2. It can depend, but snce you are probably using the timeline, most likely you just need to put a stop(); command in the last frame to have it stop at the end.
To get it to play again, your button's function code will need to include something like: gotoAndPlay(1);
How the button code gets done depends on which version of Actionscript your file is using.
3. When you publish your swf file, also have Flash publish an html file (you set this up in the Publish Settings). You can then take that html file and copy the embedding code it contains into your web page html file. You may have to include a javascript file as well to make it work, and you can tell that by looking in the head code of the html file Flash created... that head code also needs to go into your web page html file and the javascript file needs to be placed according to how your html code targets it.
You might do best just to get the html page Flash creates working for you first. It might make figuring out how to move it into your web page easier.
My opinion: the best way to learn Flash for yourself is to just dig in and keep at it. You will lose hair and sleep and your mind as you go, but eventually you either get used to that and/or you overcome it.

Want to get Captivate 2 .swf into ebook

I am trying to move a course from CD to ebook. All I have are the autorun CD files, including the .swf file; the .cp file cannot be found and the person who created it is longer with the company. The .swf contains screen snaps and voice over, as well as some cursor animation. My problem is that the .swf file starts playing as soon as the student goes to the ebook page that contains the .swf file.
To the best of my knowledge I can't use the player skin that comes with Captivate without the .cp file, so my proposed solution is to import the .swf into Adobe Flash CS3 Professional, add controls and code that has the movie stopped when opened, and save it as a more user-friendly .swf for the ebook. I am a technical writer, not a programmer, and even though I have spent many hours searching the internet and even reading a book or two about Flash programming, I cannot get a working .swf file. I'm wondering if anyone can point me to example code that will do what I need. I found out about rdcmnd functions and the advantage of the MovieClipLoader class over the loadMovie method, but I seem to be unable to put it all together in a working .swf.
I agree with Captiv8r that a decompiler for Captivate .swf files would be good.

"How Flash files are played is controlled entirely by the Flash file itself. You will need to consult the Captivate documentation or Adobe on this. I think the settings are somewhere in the skins but I don't remember offhand."
