SWF Loader using OpenDoc links

I am having no luck using an opendoc link inside the SWF loader. Any suggestions?
Is my other choice to load the swf from a network location? I am able to load successfully that way (even run the data connections)
I've tried different variations of this link and all I get is the 100% screen, with no dashboard -
-SERVER-//OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?&iDocID=ARmopxdsSohMvuPJL67dARE&sIDType=CUID&sType=Flash
Xcelsius SP3, trying to load other xcelsius swf files already in infoview.
Thank you

Hi,
I tried using the links provided
It gives me the below exception:
message
description The server encountered an internal error () that prevented it from fulfilling this request.
exception
java.lang.NullPointerException
com.businessobjects.clientaction.xcelsius.DocumentDownload.getSWFbyName(DocumentDownload.java:110)
com.businessobjects.clientaction.xcelsius.DocumentDownload.service(DocumentDownload.java:149)
javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:802)
Is there any modification required on the server side to run the DocumentDownload syntax.
I am able to view the swf using the opendoc syntax.
Help is appreciated.
Have breaking my head and reading so many forums and post for weeks. banghead.gif
Link which is working using opendoc:
https://ServerName/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?sDocName=TestFile&sKind=Flash&iDocID=144902
Please help me with the link for using Documentdownload
Documentdownload link - not working:
https://ServerName/OpenDocument/opendoc/&sPath=[My Favorites]&downloadDocument?iDocID=XXXX&sKind= Flash
Also please let me know if documentdownload link would take me to the login page if the CELOGONTOKEN is not appended.
Note: I am able to get the CELOGONTOKEN successfull

  • Using SWF Loader

    Hi Gurus,
    I have been looking through other questions like this, and not sure if the resolutions that I have seen will work.  I have a dashboard that I want to use the SWF loader in to bring in SWF files (obviously) but they are not stored in InfoView - which is what has been talked about in other questions.
    I have looked in the user guide and have seen that I can use DocumentDownload or OpenDoc, not that I am familiar with either.  My question really is this:
    1. could i use one or other of these even though i am not going through infoview (so i dont have a cuid)
    2. how would I write the syntax?
    I tried using a URL button, but I have a container on the main summary dashboard that I want the swf's to load in, rather than have a new screen load up.
    Could someone give me some advice on this??
    Many thanks,
    Sarah

    Hi Roman,
    Thanks for the response,
    I got that point that i cannot use SWF loader to show my Sub Dashboard inside my main dashboard.
    So my question What is the way (Working) to show the sub dashboard inside the main dashboard using the BICS(On EP).
    I have tried to published my Sub Dashboard and Main Dashboard on EP and tried to call the Sub Dashboard using the HTML Link...(SWF Loader/Slide Show)...but these comp. wont work...
    so which way i shd go..
    Are you saying i shd go via "Web Application Designer--creating the template and calling Dashboards(main n Sub) seperately???

  • Problem using swf loader

    When i try to run the mxml individually, It run correctly. As soon as i include it in another mxml using SWFLoader , the components stop working properly. It reflects the data sometime while sometime it doesnt. If i press browser refresh button , the components starts working
    again.
    here is the code snippet for the mxml where i load another swf file using swf loader.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <mx:Application xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml"
    xmlns:views="com.views.*" viewSourceURL="srcview/index.html" styleName="AppBack" height="100%" width="100%" initialize="init()" layout="vertical">
    <mx:Style source="assets/css/Main.css" />
         <mx:TabNavigator id="tn" height="100%" width="100%" top="-1" right="0" left="0" paddingTop="0" >
         <mx:Canvas label="Home" paddingTop="0" paddingLeft="0" paddingRight="0" paddingBottom="0">
             <mx:SWFLoader id="loader0" source="AddDeleteAccess.swf" height="100%" width="100%" x="0" y="-15"/>
         </mx:Canvas>
         </mx:TabNavigator>
    </mx:Application>
    The Home.swf contains a conbo box and a datagrid.
    The combo box stops working sometime and after the browser refresh is click it starts working.
    if required i can also paste the code of the file which is being loaded.

    scale your loader so it fits the way you want.  ie, if your loaded swf is 800x600 (with nothing on the back-stage) and you're loading into a 350x375 swf, after loading is complete, use:
    loader.width *= 350/800;
    loader.height *= 375/600;

  • How to use Opendoc to link parent and child

    I have parent and child reports, I want to link them. When I click parent id then it should display child report.
    How to use Opendoc for this?
    Thanks,

    You can use openDoc selection variable method for link the reports.

  • Using generic webserver for opendoc links

    Hi Everyone,
    Is there a specific syntax I can use to enter opendoc links for a URL button without specifying the name of my BOE server.
    I've tried using <webserver> in place of my server name without success.
    Thanks in advance.
    Angie

    The dynamic url method that Simon gave earlier should work, but not when you are previewing the dashboard.  It would only work once it has been exported to Enterprise.
    If you want it to work whilst previewing you'll need to specify the full server string.

  • Problems accessing SWF info using load

    i am really trying to use AS3 but having many difficulties using common tasks that seemed straightforward before. i want to find out the totalframes of an SWF that has been externally loaded using the load method.
    my script is this so far:
    import flash.display.*;
    import flash.net.URLRequest;
    var ldr:Loader = new Loader();
    var url:String="natural numbers_pt-2_composite_v3-compiled audio.swf";
    var urlReq:URLRequest=new URLRequest(url);
    ldr.load(urlReq);
    addChild(ldr);
    i tried using trace(ldr.totalframes) just to test it but continue to get errors when i do.

    now i get a new error:
    Warning: 1090: Migration issue: The onLoad event handler is not triggered automatically by Flash Player at run time in ActionScript 3.0.  You must first register this handler for the event using addEventListener ( 'load', callback_handler).
    i would revert back to AS2 but i want to use the new Slider component and that won't happen with AS2.
    why couldn't Adobe have just left well-enough alone? i know i sound like a typical designer that uses Flash.

  • No content loads when using portal links

    We recently upgraded from 3.0.9.8.2 to 3.0.9.8.5 and in the new version we are having issues with our favorites portlet as well as any links that users create to send to other users. In the new version, after a user logs in, if they click on a saved favorite link, the new page does not load. The tabs at the top of the screen stay and the content of the page is left blank. The same thing happens if you copy a link into the browser window after logging in. However, if you navigate to the tab that the link is going to, and then go back to the login page and use the link, it works fine. We have a TAR logged with Oracle and they do not know what is wrong. Has anyone experienced a similar problem or know a solution?
    After testing, we came up with something interesting. When we were creating favorites, we were going to the page we wanted, copying the URL, and pasting it into a favorite. This URL is fairly short. Just now I tried right clicking on the folder I wanted to make a favorite and copying a shortcut. This URL is much longer (although it should point to the same place as the short one). When I tested the favorites, the first URL loaded a blank screen (as you saw in the ODC), but the second loaded the page correctly. I went back to our System Test environment to make sure that the problem does not exist there (this instance is still 3.0.9.8.2). Both the short URL and the long URL worked. Why should patching the portal cause the short URLs, which worked before, to
    stop loading pages correctly? Here is an example:

    Hi,
    The reason why I decide to use Light Framework, itu2019s because Iu2019m creating an EFP, and Iu2019m using the WPC to publish the content (articles, news, and link list), using the standard Web Forms.
    The problem is, after adding to a WPC Page something so simple like an article (using the Web Form Article), no Portal iView, HTMLB or other stuff included, the preview of the WPC Page using the Default Framework Page is ok, but when using the Light Framework Page, the text in the article doesnu2019t have the correct font-family. It looks like there are some styles missing in the Light Framework Page, that WPC content is expecting.
    Thanks and Regards,

  • Rendering of SWF Loader child SWFs

    I am using the swf loader with an Xcelsius OpenDoc link (http://<server>:8080/Xcelsius/opendoc/documentDownload?sIDType=CUID&iDocID=<CUID>&sKind=Flash&CELogonToken=<CELogonToken>)  and it works beautifully so long as the parent swf is also opened using and OpenDoc link.  However, if the parent swf is opened via InfoView, the child swf does not render properly (either way too large or too small).  Has anyone else come across this or have any ideas for resolution?

    Try wrapping it as a component with the Flex component kit.
    That way you
    get to specify the bounding box.

  • SWF Load order.

    Hello all,
    I have a group of FC outputs that I have used to create a virtual tour of my client's showroom here:
    electronic-lifestyle.com
    But the SWF files I have linked in the FXP are loading from back to front.  The last Page is loading first and the first loads last creating some issues.  I have one more pass I need to maker to fix some glitches with the vertical scroll bar and several other points but I need to know if I can adjust the order in which the SWF files load into the page.  I would prefer they load when called for but if that is not possible I would like to load from the first page to the last.
    On an associated thought, is it possible to create a progress bar in FC or Flash that will give the viewer some feed back on the SWF files loading in.  Right now the area is blank until they arrive.
    I have a feeling that this level of control is something achieved in Flash Builder, not in FC.  That is fine, I am planning on importing the file into FB to enable deep linking anyway but since there is no round trip function I figured I would get all of the FC work finished first, then go into FB and make whatever changes need to happen there.
    It is starting to seem silly that the two programs were separated to begin with.  It seems a natural evolution that Catalyst and Builder be joined into the same application sometime in the near future.  Once the round trip issue is taken care of, why not just work toward combining the two apps?
    Anyway, if someone could give me a pointer on the load order issue that would be wonderful.
    Thanks,
    Brett

  • Trouble figuring out pathname for embedded swf loading external swfs & xml

    I have a swf that loads content from an XML file. This works fine when everything is in the same directory, but I want this swf to appear in several different HTML pages, which are in several different directories and I don't want to have to put 8 different copies of my swf online just so that they load properly. The directory structure is like this:
    main_dir:
    mod_dirmod01_dirmodcontent_dirmyembeddedswf.html
    myflash_dirsub1
    sub2:
    myflash.swf
    myflash.fla (not uploaded to the server)
    xml_dir:myxml.xml
    I created "sub1" and "sub2" just so that my swf would be the same number of directories downwards as the html has to link upwards, so that when I test the source file, it works. For the HTML, it's embedded like this (using swfobject):
    <object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="800" height="500" id="../../../myflash_dir/sub1/sub2/myflash">
              <param name="movie" value="../../../myflash_dir/sub1/sub2/myflash.swf" />
                    <!--[if !IE]>-->
                    <object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="../../../myflash_dir/sub1/sub2/myflash.swf" width="800" height="500">
                    <!--<![endif]-->
                    <div>
                        <p><a href="http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer"><img src="http://www.adobe.com/images/shared/download_buttons/get_flash_player.gif" alt="Get Adobe Flash player" width="112" height="33" /></a></p>
                    </div>
                    <!--[if !IE]>-->
                    </object>
                    <!--<![endif]-->
                </object>
    And inside the Actionscript, I have a URL like this to load the XML:
    ../../../myflash_dir/sub1/sub2/xml_dir/myxml.xml
    Testing the .fla works. But the swf does not work in the HTML. myflash.swf loads, but the loading animation spins and spins, so presumably myxml.xml is not loading. Can anyone see what I'm doing wrong?

    Durrr, this is not the first time I've answered my own question. Maybe something about trying to explain it to someone else lets my brain make the critical connection.
    Anyway, yes it was everything to do with the external SWFs being loaded. My main swf actually loads an xml containing URLs from which to load all of the other SWFs and so I had to update the URLs inside of that, and that fixed the problem.
    Sorry for wasting forum space, but maybe this will help someone else out!

  • Embedded container swf loading swf with xml

    I'd call myself an intermediate AS3 newbe. I have a series of slideshows that is called by a 'container' Flash file.
    These slideshow swf files are now rather large (230 kb) so as a test, I redid one of them as a  Flash file that uses xml rather than the images called within the file itself (file size 68 kb), which is my first exploration into xml & AS3.
    All the non-xml files load and play fine locally (well, sort of, since there's some weird glitchs which show up in different ways at different times in the container loading too many files one after another at times - and sometimes there's no problem at all) but that's not my current problem here.
    Basic URL structure:  document relative
    1. container file (container.fla/container.swf) will be embedded in a html file. --> /Flash.container.swf The contain file has a series of links to other .swf files.
    2. The container file other .swf files (selection of 10) from a  subfolder called /sbrds i.e. --> UILoader loads "Flash/sbrds/albert.swf"
    3.  The albert.fla/albert.swf loads an xml slideshow from a subfolder of sbrds  called /AlBert  --> /Flash/sbrds/Albert code "loader.load(new URLRequest("AlBert/AlBertXX.xml"));"  (quotes in message only)
    4. Inside the /Albert folder I have the xml file and all the images. xml file  is AlBertXX.xml  (attached)
    5. local structure --> desktop/workingFiles/storyboards (container.fla) /Flash /sbrds (albert.fla) /Albert (Albertxx.xml & image.jpgs)
    would equal on the server as  root html/Flash/sbrds/Albert
    Locally... The albert.fla (in the /Flash/sbrds folder) itself works fine with no errors when calling the xml file.  But when I test that file from the container.fla/swf  I get a 2044/2032 error "Error #2044: Unhandled ioError:. text=Error #2032: Stream Error. URL: file:///.../myLocalDesktopFolder/storyboards/AlBert/AlBertXX.xml      at albert_fla::MainTimeline/albert_fla::frame1()"
    I've check and rechecked for any typos in the xml slideshow test and don't find any.  Any ideas?
    Could it be that I'm calling a xml driven file from a non-xml driven file?
    I have all the files including my buggy htm file at http://www.danwelter.com/susanTest_static.htm
    All the pertinent fla and image files are in the /flash folder (too many to attach).

    Hi Jan
    Apparently the update went into place on my personal laptop
    overnight last night. I awoke this morning to discover it had
    rebooted itself and it was patiently waiting for me to enter my
    bootup password. Anyhoo, I happened to notice that today when I
    hovered the mouse over my Captivate movie, I saw the dreaded
    “click to activate and use this control” message that
    popped up in a tooltip. What to do?
    Well, I did notice that it seemed to require a mouse click to
    "activate" the control, but simply running the movie seemed to be
    fine. I then wondered what would be disabled. When my movie got to
    the first button, the initial click was used to enable the control.
    Then the second click was accepted and progressed the movie.
    I hopped out on the web and found a page at the following
    URL:
    http://www.amarasoftware.com/flash-problem.htm
    After following the instructions there, my files seemed fine.
    Here are the steps I followed:
    1. Copied the code on the page and pasted into an empty
    Notepad.
    theObjects = document.getElementsByTagName("object");
    for (var i = 0; i < theObjects.length; i++) {
    theObjects
    .outerHTML = theObjects.outerHTML;
    2. Saved as file name ieupdate.js.
    3. Copied the link code and pasted between the closing object
    and center tags.
    Before:
    </object>
    </center>
    After:
    </object>
    <script type="text/javascript"
    src="ieupdate.js"></script>
    </center>
    It occurs to me that one could easily modify the "seed" HTML
    page Captivate uses when it creates the HTML page. This page is
    named standard.htm and is found in the following location:
    C:\Program Files\Macromedia\Captivate\Templates\Publish
    This would save tweaking the HTM each time you publish. Then
    you would only need to worry about making sure you copied the
    associated ieupdate.js file to the same folder.
    You gotta love lawsuits. I really hope those that "won" are
    happy that we all now have to jump through all the hoops to make
    things work. Sheesh
    Hopefully this helps... Rick

  • Issues with using relative links in Captivate 8

    Is anyone else having issues with using relative links in Captivate 8?  These links all used to work in the previous version of Captivate. And I could have sworn this was fixed already once in Captivate 8 but it's popping up again for us. Here is the situation... We have courses that are made up of multiple lessons which as separate Captivate files. Within those lessons are buttons to link to external documents (which live in a shared document folder), demonstrations, etc.  We use relative links because we post these to our amazon servers and we also sell them to clients where they can post them on their own web servers or in their LMS.  SO we can't put in full paths for the links or we'd have to change them constantly.  So an example is that the link for a button might be "../Document/nameofdoc.pdf"  This would be going to a user guide or something that is posted in the "Document" folder that lives at the same level as the lesson's folder. But now, all of the sudden, none of our bazillion links is working. And I've tried buttons, hyperlinks, and even the old click box. Nothing works with relative links. And I did check the permissions on every file and folder on our Amazon server to verify nothing changed there as well.   Any suggestions?

    I have the same issue with relative links using Captivate 8.  I am trying to load Captivate modules into an LMS using relative links to document files within the LMS.  The links work fine during a site page test so not an issue in the LMS, but from the Captivate module they aren't working....

    I have created two mxml files A & B.

    i have two labels and a button in A file and i have set values to those labels and have a method to handle the click event of the button. Here comes the problem,
    I have two buttons named LoadAgain and Unload
    When i click the Unload button, the SWF Loader unloads its content by the method i handled for  the Unload button, after that i have clicked on the LoadAgain button to load the same content of A's mxml to the SWF Loader, it loads succesfully,but i was not able to access its Label or Method from the B mxml. creationComplete only fires once when the SWFLoader is created.  Therefore you never reset your variables to point to the new sub-app.  On a slow network, creationComplete may fire before the sub-app loads.  It is best to use the COMPLETE event.
