SWF Plays Before Preloader Finishes

I have a container file that contains a preloader and calls
on an swf file to load once it is finished loading...however once
the preloader gets to about 80% you can hear the music start
playing from the swf that is being loaded and the animation has
already begun to play by the time we can view the main swf....why
is this happening? i tried putting a stop() on the first frame of
the swf being loaded but it doesn't help
web link is here: www.salonroyalecourt.com

Maybe I should be more clear in the way I set it up...I have
one swf that is a container within my index file in
dreamweaver...that container swf contains the preloader code on the
first keyframe, and calls for the main swf to be loaded when the
preloader is finished in the second frame...however as I said
before the preloader finishes the main swf starts playing, and i
have a stop() on the first empty keyframe of the main swf, the only
thing that does is prevent the swf from playing at all...any more
advice?

    in random mode some songs stop playing before being finished

    I've heard this excuse before, that what we think is random really isn't, but when certain trends occur enough times, its pretty clear that there is some kind of algorithm or something in the coding that affects the shuffle.
    I know random means random, but there are too many "random" coincidences and apparent patterns that occur to raise doubt that it truly is as random as Apple claims.
    One such example, is that when using the Shuffle Songs feature (that shuffles all tracks on the iPod) I had 2-3 tracks from the same album (an album I had never even listened to yet) showing up within the first 40 tracks five times in a row. Numerous other songs showed up in at least 3 of the 5 "trials." Out of 8,000 songs.
    On a playlist (of 300 or less songs is all I have tried), if you have multiple songs off the same album, you are far more likely to hear at least one other song off a given album within about 10 songs then you are to not hear a song off the same album. A specific example of this is on a playlist of 105 songs I have, there are 3 songs off one album, however nearly every time 2 of the songs will play within a 10 track range, and nearly as often all 3 songs will play within the same 20 track range.
    I know random isn't perfectly spaced songs, but when certain things happen often enough, the odds of it become so low that even the "true random" explanation doesn't cover it.

    I purchased a soundtrack on iTunes (Windows 7) and five of the songs that downloaded get cut off before they finish playing...any idea how to get it fixed?

    If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:
    Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
    Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
    Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
    Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.

  • SWF Exports with Preloader

    If I export my publication as an SWF and then embed this file into a Dreamweaver page it works as it should
    http://www.carolsteele.co.uk/testing/test_01.html
    The above links to a lower resolution version for testing purposes only - but I need a preloader as there is a distinct time lag before the swf file is loaded if I use the full version with a higher resolution image setting.  If I use my normal preloader, it loads correctly, but the swf just simply runs through at high speed without stopping as can be seen in the link below.
    http://www.carolsteele.co.uk/testing/test_02.html
    What am I doing wrong.
    PS - if I export the publication as an XFL file and test it in Adobe Flash, it does the same thing (i.e. runs through at high speed)
    Thanks in advance for any suggestions

    Too complex for me I'm afraid (I think 'Flash for Dummies' as being an advanced text book ).  In the end I found a very helpful site (http://www.flashdo.com) which sells lots of flash stuff at a very reasonbale price (just $3 for a preloader) - and although the guy who owns the site hadn't tested any of his preloaders with SWF's exported out from InDesign publications, he said he would be willing to test one of my SWF files before purchasing.
    I just needed to alter a little bit of the code to get it the way I wanted, but it is now working well with all the SWF files I have created from InDesign.
    Just thought I'd update the information in this thread as I'm sure there will be other folk out there who might be in the same position that I was.

  • Simple AS3 external swf playing code?

    Hi
    I'm after some REALLY simple code, and am happy to pay someone via Paypal to do this for me.
    I want to have a one frame piece of AS3 code that loads in external swfs from an array.
    I want external swf 1 to play, and when it's finished, swf 1 unloads from memory, and then external swf 2 starts playing and so on through the array.
    When the end of the array is met, it loops back to the first swf and starts again.
    I don't need transition effects or anything like that.
    This is to be used for an offline project, so it's not connected to the web.
    I've been playing with it for a while myself, but can't get this to work.  It should be a simple and quick job for someone out there.  Just load a new swf into the child holder and play.  When that swf's finished playing, dump it, and load in and play the next one.
    Thanks for your help.
    Shaun

    Nothing at this stage - I'm still experimenting to figure out the best way to do it.  I found something like what I want at http://www.flashandmath.com/intermediate/externalclips/ext_clip2.html (without button control though - there's a code addition at the bottom to add in to make the swfs play by themselves).
    The problem with the above example is I can't get any external swfs besides the example ones to play.  I even tried renaming my as3 swfs to clip0 etc, but still nothing.
    If someone can make it for me, and it means I have to add some code to the end of each external swf, if they can include the code to add, I can incorporate it no probs.
    Cheers
    Shaun

  • My iPod Touch (iOS 6.1.3) keeps cutting off songs before they finish.

    My iPod keeps cutting off songs before they finish. There doesn't seem to be a pattern - it only happens to some songs. It also doesn't cut them all off with the same amount of time remaining. The songs work perfectly when I play them back on iTunes on my laptop.
    I've tried removing and reloading all the music as well as restoring my iPod to its factory settings.
    Please help... it's driving me mad!!

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
    Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
    least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync all music and resync
    - Reset all settings
    Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
    All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • Stop embedded sound playing before clip starts

    Hi,
    When I test my app on a device the sound starts playing before the movieclip.  The sound is embedded in an external swf.  I can access the sound using:
    SoundMixer.soundTransform = new SoundTransform(0);
    But I can't work out where to turn it back to 1 so it starts when the movie starts.  The code I'm currently using is below, but the sound still starts before the clip does.
    Thanks.
    private function startMovieOne(event:MouseEvent):void
                var defaultSWF:URLRequest = new URLRequest("movieOne.swf");
                loader.load(defaultSWF);
                loader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(ProgressEvent.PROGRESS, showProgress);
                loader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.INIT, onInit);
                loader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, onComplete);
            private function onInit(evt:Event):void
                loader.contentLoaderInfo.removeEventListener(Event.INIT, onInit);
                SoundMixer.soundTransform = new SoundTransform(0);
            private function showProgress(evt:ProgressEvent):void
                loader.contentLoaderInfo.removeEventListener(ProgressEvent.PROGRESS, showProgress);
                var loadProgress_percent:Number = Math.floor((evt.bytesLoaded * 100) / (evt.bytesTotal));
                trace("loadProgress_percent: " + loadProgress_percent);
            private function onComplete(evt:Event):void
                movieTwo_mc.addChild(loader);
                trace("loaded");
                loader.contentLoaderInfo.removeEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, onComplete);
                SoundMixer.soundTransform = new SoundTransform(1);

    i assume the sound is attached to a movieclip timeline (otherwise, use the sound reference).  movieclip's have a soundTransform property that you can use to control their sound.  you should be using that instead of the global SoundMixer soundTransform unless you have more than 1 sound and you want to control them all concurrently.
    and, you use the soundTransform like this:
    var st:SoundTransform=your_mc.soundTransform;  // though, you could continue to use the less desireable, var st:SoundTransform=SoundMixer.soundTransfom;
    st.volume=1;
    your_mc.soundTransform=st;  // again, if you continued using the global SoundMixer soundtransform, this would be:  SoundMixer.soundTransform=st;

  • I had to reload all my programs after a  hard drive problem. Now certain songs are skipped over or only play for a sec or 2 then it jumps to next song. all songs played before. Some are Itune bought and some are my old music.

    I had to wipe my hard drive clean and reload all my programs. After reloading Itunes, I noticed that some songs will not play, they are skipped over, or the songs plays for 1-2 secs then it skips on to next song. Any ideas what I did wrong? All songs played before and some of affected songs are bought, some are my old library I copied off of CDs

    Could be a lot of things unfortunately, from corrupt firmware, corrupt format on the disk, a problem with the mainboard, or a problem with the hard disk.
    I figure that if the hard dri've was damaged it would always freeze up on the same file at the exact same point in the music wouldn't it's
    Not necessarily. It could be just an intermittent fault.
    I want to Format my Zen Touch and reload the Firmware to start from scratch, but I first want to backup my 28 GBs of MP3 and WMA files. However I noticed that when I transfer the files to my hard dri've, all the ID3 Information is gone. Now adding ID3 info to 28GB of files will take days!
    Strange. Did you edit the tag data on the player? If so what happens is the tag data changes are made in the Music Library but not in the files themselves. There's only one way to write the changes back and this involves getting a copy of MediaSource 3. You then transfer the files back to the PC Music Library, and use an update function to update the files (the PC Music Library will have the same tag data as the Music Library on the player). One problem is that MediaSource 3 is very large, and not available from Creative as a download. I can try and get a copy to you if you can't find it elsewhere.

  • Production Order: warning when Basic finish date is before scheduled finish

    Hello experts,
    We will set in config OPU3 (scheduling parameters for prod order) Adjust dates = 2 Do not adjust basic dates, ... Essentially this will allow the shop floor controller to change scheduled date ie. production dates without affecting basic dates.
    With this setup the system may display in the header of an order the scheduling note "Basic finish date is before scheduled finish" as well as generate a scheduling log "Scheduled finish is after basic finish date" (message 36 mess class C7).
    These messages are not enough visible for our planners. I would like to find a way to generate a warning before save. I tried to add a record in OPJB: message class CO no. 533 "Scheduled date & is after the requirements date &" but this doesn't work.
    Note: I tried to add message class C7 no 36 in OPJB but got the error "Please enter a legal value".
    Have you been able to add message in table OPJB ? Is it a good idea or the only option is enhancement?
    Thanks for sharing your ideas.
