SWF slide show does not play

I need some help with a Fireworks swf slide show.
This is the web page:
http://www.shortlifeweb.com/DrTedScott/index1.html
And here is a hard link to the slide show:
http://www.shortlifeweb.com/DrTedScott/images/slideshow.swf
The slideshow.swf works fine, so I think the files and swf
are properly located.
However, in the index1.html, the slideshow does not play.
Any help would be appreciated.
Ken.

To make things simple, I created a blank page - no template,
no formatting. And it still does not play.
According to some of the tutorials I have seen, the slide
show should play within Dreamweaver, but it doesn't play there
either.
Thanks.

I am including the entire html code.

  • Slide show does not Play Images Worked on in CS2- 2nd post

I routinely work on Aperture images with CS2...using the external editor command. When I try to play a slideshow with these "worked on" images the Aperture slide show just reverts to the original Aperture Master. Thus I am unable to show the CS2 versions...Is this just a bug?

Have you made the CS2 version the stack pick?
Also, helpful to generate Previews before Slideshow (revised at v1.5 to use them rather than creating an image on-the-fly) so that slideshow doesn't stutter.

I have the same problem. I have many architectural shots that I adjusted using Perspective or Skew in CS 2 and the changes don't show up in a slide show. I have marked each CS 2 modified shot as a pick in the main library and as an album pick in the album, all to no avail.

  • Aperture Exported Slide Show Does not show last few photos

I exported an Aperture Slide show for an AppleTV (720P).  The slide show has over 2000 photos from a recent trip.  The slide show is about 115 minutes long.
Everything works fine until about the last few minutes, the music works fine but the screen goes black for about 7 photos, comes back on for 2-3 then goes black for the last 5 or so photos.  Does anyone have any idea why the end of the exported slide show is doing this?  If I watch the preview on my MAC everything looks fine all the way to the end.

In my case it was because my hard drive was nearly full.  I emptied the trash (had not done this in quite sometime) and it freed up a lot of disk space.  The full slide show compiled fine after this.  I found this when another recompile warned me that there was not enough disk space to compile.  Hopes this helps.

  • Second button on menu for slide show does not work.

Anyone else having problems with this? Despite three separate attempts using different photos, different Macs and different themes... it is always the second button (to access the second folder) in the slide show that does not work. It fails to access the slides in the folder.
Our conclusion finally was that this is a bug, so we used only text buttons and put the second button over to the side of the main menu with just a period in it, and one image in the folder (it will not allow a folder without any images) and then we can skip from the first button to the third (seen on the screen as the second button) and bypass the problem.
Has anyone come up with an explanation or a better solution?

  • Slide Show does not work properly

When reviewing a previously created slide show or when creating a new one, the first slide appears in the window.  As the current slide indication at the bottom of the screen advances, the main screen goes blank. When I hit pause, the current slide will be displayed.  If I resume by clicking on play, the subsequent slides are blank in the main window

  • HTML5 published content from Captivate 7 including slide audio does not play audio in DPS preview

I have added HTML 5 content to a DPS publication I am creating in Indesign CC. When I preview the content on my desktop I cannot hear the audio play when initiated. The content appears, but without audio. is this normal? I cannot publish to a device right now, and am just trying to figure out if I am doing something wrong.

I concur, but do not have the device with me today, and was wondering if this is a common discrepancy. Has anyone tested Captivate output with slide audio into DPS? Does it work?

  • Looped audio on slide shows does not loop

Even though i set the slideshow options to "fit to audio", and it appears to work on the preview, when i burn the DVD to disc, the music track is played once only and the second half of the slideshow flips away in silence. Can anyone help? Thank you.
    iMac G5   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

    Welcome to the forums,
I'm a bit confused. "Fit to music" should adjust how quickly the photos change so that the song and slides finish at the same time. If you want the audio to loop, you should try "Repeat music."

  • Swf does not play in IE

I have a client who wants his logo in flash.  I'm using swfobject to include the swf, but it does not play in IE8 unless I specify compatibility mode.
    The site is here...

    What am I missing?

I'd suggest you get rid of all the IE conditional statement stuff and only use the single <object>, IE will handle that just fine... with or without swfobject.
    <object data="path_to_file/file.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="insert_width_of_movie" height="insert_height_of_movie">
                <param name="movie" value="path_to_file/file.swf">

    </object>
According to your DOCTYPE this validation service agrees. Validate your page here:

Notice what is says about the first (IE targeted) <object>.

  • 2nd slide show won't play

After creating a dvd with two slide shows using iDVD, the second slide show will not play past the first image. The first show plays with no problem.
When the second show is activated the first image comes up but I can't advance to any of the others.
It isn't frozen as I can return to the main menu and can still activate the first show.
I've tested on 3 different DVD players with the same result
The theme is the basic green linen with the theme graphic and drop zone replaced by a plain black background and two slideshow buttons.
Both slide shows are set to manual advance, fade through black and no audio or video. The images were imported directly from iPhoto. The first has 82 images the second 42 (combination of jpeg and tiff files).
I've replaced all of the images with different files from other shoots but still get the same result. I've also recreated the project from scratch twice to no avail.
Any suggestions? Anyone else run into this?
    Thanks!

I have experienced totally similar circumstances. My husband thought that I had posted your email. I have gone beyond pulling my hair out.....
I traveled 1500 miles this summer to scan 1000 old family black and white photos and slides. I am composing an idvd production using 500 slides that I have brought in from iphoto. Before placing in iphoto, I took all of them through Photoshop and placed a title on each photo. My idvd is composed of 6 slideshows, each ranging between 50 - 98 photos. After burning, they all play back on my ibook, although they have been burned on my standing machine. Playing them on a tv DVD, one particular slide show will not advance. It stays on the first photo. It will not advance, ever. I am using the Memories theme from 5.0, manual advance, and page flip. (I have tried several other transition options) I have burned a minimum of 20 DVDs with the same outcome. I have tried eliminating photos, using folders, I have made every adjustment that I can think of. I narrowed it down to 2 photos that caused slide shows to not open, and then after I eliminated them from the DVD, that very same slide show still will not advance. I have made sure all existing programs were turned off, and that I have file share off....
My super drive uses a Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-104
Up until this year, all DVD slide shows ran without a hitch. Whether I use Apple DVD's or Memorex, I get the same problems. I have spent alot of money on this DVD and seems that I should have a result. I'm afraid to upgrade to TIGER. My family is waiting for their copies.
    Any suggestions for me???????
This is my first posting and am not familiar with how it goes, but am hoping that we can solve our problems!

  • Placed .swf does not play correctly

I have placed a .swf on a page.  When exported to pdf the movie does not play correctly.  It plays correctly before being placed.  I used flash cs4 actionscript 3 to create the .swf.
I have selected the highest level for pdf when exporting.

ok!  I figured it out.  This is what is happening.  Apparently when you place a .swf in indesign and make a button on the page to show the movie when clicked and then export to pdf -- there is a time delay from the time you click on the button and the movie starts to play in a floating window.   Its just a few frames of 24 fps movie but that is enought for whatever gaget that reads the movie to miss the first few frames.
So in effect any info in the first few frames is not read.   So i had a stop on the first frame that was not being read.  I put the stop on frame 7 and now it plays just like I had hoped.
I hope this helps anybody else out that has had a similar problem.

  • I applied a template to a page with SWFs and now that page does not play the SWFs. Why?

I applied a template to a page with SWFs and now that page does not play the SWFs (just a blank area where the SWF should be). When I detach the template it will play the flash file. This site will eventually be updated via Adobe Contribute. And I just discovered that when applying a template to a page that uses HTML datasets (Master/Detail),it no longer reads the Master/detail regions and displays a blank. Any thoughts?
[Moved to Dreamweaver forum by moderator]

Firstly, you shouldn't really 'apply' a template to a page, you should create a child page by going to FILE>NEW>Page from Template.  Too many things can happen when applying a template the way you are doing it. eg:; editable and non-editable regions not matching up and being asked where to place these regions and in all likelihood, you end up with 2 or more of the same region.
When a swf file is inserted into a page, a corresponding Scripts folder is written automatically is stored in the root of the site - it is also linked to in the head of the document. What I believe is happening is that when you apply a template to the page, the Template has no idea that there is a swf file on the page and is not aware of the correct link to the Scripts folder.  If you do a test and add the swf file to the template page itself, I bet that the links to the swf and the scripts folder are correct - because DW knows the correct path to the script file.   Hence the reason the page probably works when you detach it from a template.

  • Captivate 7 saved project randomly does not play slide audio in preview project.

I created a training project with over 100 slides. Each slide has an audio track that I recorded, When I preview each slide it sounds fine. When you preview the entire project, some slides randomly do not play the audio track. Try it again and other slides randomly don't play. How can I fix this and prevent it from happening?

I concur, but do not have the device with me today, and was wondering if this is a common discrepancy. Has anyone tested Captivate output with slide audio into DPS? Does it work?
