Swf to svg conversion

I have static SWF files that I need to convert to SVG, DWG, _or_ DXF files.
Is it possible to do this in Flash Profession (or any other Flash-based product)? If so, is it possible to do programmatically (that is, via an API/SDK)?
Thanks.

Hi All,
Flash Pro CC 2014 (v14.0.0.110) is now available for download via the Creative Cloud App and Adobe website.
We have added SVG Export feature to Flash Pro with this new release. You will now be able to export out vector content from the selected frame as an SVG image that can be opened directly in a Browser and even imported in Adobe Illustrator.
SVG Export option can be accessed via the Publish Settings as well as via File Menu > Export > Export Image option.
Along with this, we have added several new features with this release. Complete list is available at these links:

  • Illustrator CS6 - Export Slices to SWF or SVG - not possible anymore?!?

    Hi all,
I just learned that it's not possible anymore to export slices to swf or svg via the save for web dialog:
    http://blogs.adobe.com/ivandavid/illustrator_cs6_save_for_web/
Apart from the fact that I believe that this is a pretty strange decision to remove an existing feature…
Does anyone know a workaround for that (apart from installing cs5.5...)?
I need to somehow be able to export my slices to swf.
As far as I know, the only option to export slices is via the save for web dialog, but this dialog only offers pixel graphic formats, so now way to use fireworks or what ever to convert them to vector swfs…
    What a bummer…
    Thanks!

Semi-ignore my previous answer - figured out another work around that involves converting your slices to artboards.
After you have made all of your slices, use the Slice Selection Tool to select your first slice. Go to Object > Artboards > Convert to Artboards. This should create a new artboard out of that slice. Do this for all of your slices.
After creating new artboards from your slices, go to File > Export... and select Flash (swf) from the dropdown menu. Make sure you check the "Use Artboards" option underneath the format menu.
This process should result in individual swf files of each of your slices, along with your original image. Hope this helps!

  • PDF links broken in SWF Flashpaper after conversion.

I've been building a flash app to view documents that exist as PDF files currently.
A recent demo of this app viewing the PDFs converted to SWF in Flashpaper viewer embedded in Flash player, we noticed that the embedded links (both interdocument links and the internet based links) were broken (didn't work).
Is there something we were doing wrong or is there a fix for this in a newer flashpaper version?
    Thanks,
    John

According to this http://www.adobe.com/products/flashpaper/productinfo/features/static_tour/navigation/hyper linking.html hyperlinks are supported, however I've seen these not working after converting PDFs to SWFs in my testing.
Is there some requirement for hyperlinks (both internal to the document and external internet links) to be working correctly after the conversion?

  • EPS-- SVG  Conversion (Force white colored areas to transparency including background) ?

    Hi,
I am trying to convert (export) an EPS image to SVG programmatically as follows, I am having difficulty in converting white areas on the image to transparency; could someone guide me what would be the solution please?
    Dim illusapp = New Illustrator.Application
    Dim illusdoc As Illustrator.Document
    illusdoc = illusapp.Open(fileStream.Name) //.eps file path
Dim svgExportOptions As Illustrator.ExportOptionsSVG //Here I don’t have the provision of passing Transparency to True etc.
illusdoc.Export(destination, Illustrator.AiExportType.aiSVG, svgExportOptions) //destination is .svg file path
Thank you very much for your time in taking a look at!!
    -SG

I need to do this programmatically ( I mean recognizing white spots on the .eps image and convert them to transparency).
Right now, I have implemented a .NET Web Service which interacts with Illustrator on the server. So if a user request .EPS image to be converted to .SVG, he/she just calls the service method which takes .eps image as an input and returns .svg content as an output. Behind the scenes, service interacts with Illustrator and does the conversion.
Below are few lines of code thru which I am achieving this. Part of this I would like to recognize the white spots/content in the .eps image and convert them to transparency before I convert/export to .svg file.
    Dim illusapp = New Illustrator.Application
    Dim illusdoc As Illustrator.Document
    illusdoc = illusapp.Open(fileStream.Name) //.eps file path
    Dim svgExportOptions As Illustrator.ExportOptionsSVG
illusdoc.Export(destination, Illustrator.AiExportType.aiSVG, svgExportOptions) //destination is .svg file path
Thank you all for your time; appreciate if you could share some of your thoughts on it.

  • Captivate 4 stops during SWF to AVI conversion

We are running Captivate 4 on a brand new Windows XP quad-processor with 8G of memory. We purchased Captivate to record demos of our web-based software. It did not do well in the regular NON-full motion video mode -- crashing and not capturing onscreen changes very well -- so we switched to FMV mode.
Right now we have a 10-minute full motion video with voiceover, 800x600. We can successfully export it to SWF but we need it in a streaming format for web delivery. Every time we have tried to export it as an AVI, it gets about 1-2 minutes in and quits: "Adobe Captivate has stopped working." We've tried different codecs, including Xvid, MJPEG, MicrosoftVideo1, etc. all with the same result. The memory usage creeps up to about 1.2G and we have 8G, so it doesn't seem to be that.
I downloaded a trial version of LumixSoft SWF to AVI and it appears to handle this conversion with no problem. So far, a $50 product can do what an $800 product claims to do but has failed to deliver! I saw a similar question to mine posted in November but it did not appear to have a sufficient answer.... if Captivate cannot adequately produce a AVI file from a full-motion capture, they should make that clear to potential buyers.
    Does anyone have a solution?

    Hi there
I see multiple issues here. You are stating you have 8 gigs of RAM. This would seem to indicate you are running a 64 bit version of XP, no?
Just today I was working with a class participant that has that amount of RAM and she discovered that Captivate was very erratic on 64 bits. So she said she created a 32 bit virtual machine and ran Captivate that way with no issues. Perhaps you can try that and see if the problems improve?
Sure, you can create a Full Motion recording using Captivate, but really, Captivate just isn't up to the task if what you want is a Full Motion recording start to finish.
We may as well face it, how often does any company really go out of their way to highlight the weak points of their product?
At least they do give you 30 days in which to try it to see if it is up to the task of what you wish to do with it. Did you download and evaluate the trial?
Unfortunately I've seen other reports of the AVI output failing. I'm not sure I've ever seen a conclusive "this fixes it" response offered.
Assuming that running in a 32 bit virtual environment doesn't seem to help (it may) you might wish to try turning off compression. You do this via Edit > Preferences > Project > SWF Size and Quality.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Illustrator CC 2014 Graph function, SVG conversion to text outline option for web Firefox etc. compatibility

In order to have Firefox and other browsers display text as designed in Illustrator, I've been converting text to outline when exporting to SVG. It's not ideal but it works generally - except now I am using the graphing function and it won't create outline fonts even when that option is selected.
I've not been able to break the link with the graph function, e.g. by exporting to SVG or EPS and then opening those files and trying to export to SVG from there.
Any suggestions e.g. about other ways of forcing illustrator to break the link with the graph data function - I'd keep the original file, this is just about getting a SVG file that will display text as intended in all browsers
    Cheers, Malcolm

Make a copy of the AI file, select the graph object and expand is one way of doing it. You might also find this interesting, esp the later messages

  • Acrobat 9 Pro and straight .swf to PDF conversion

I have an electronic document that is several .swf files, one
file for each document page. Using cutepdf I can put each file in
firefox and then print the the page to pdf. This is very tedious
since I have 1000+ pages. I would prefer to speed this process up
    with AA9.
I have Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extended. When I try to create a
new PDF from the .swf file I get some dialogue that treats the .swf
as embedded content. This puts an annoying play button at the
bottom of the converted page and makes it incompatible to view in
my iPhone or other handheld devices. It would seem that AA9 treats
the .swf as .swf and doesn't convert it to .pdf like cutepdf does.
I have to believe that AA9 can ignore the media type of .swf
and straight convert the content in the .swf to .pdf without
treating it like I want to embed it as a flash file inside a pdf.
How is this done? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your reply. This problem has yet to be resolved
sadly. The play button isn't a huge deal as that the document wont
convert into straight PDF. I finally gave up and decided to batch
convert all of the files and just deal with the embedded content
angle AA9 takes. Sadly this was also a failure since every file
that was converted (1200+) wants me to confirm the embedded content
settings. Very annoying. Any help on these subjects would be
    greatly appreciated.

  • Swf to pdf conversion?

I take degree classes online and the iPad does not like .swf files which one of e-books is in. It attempts to open in Evernote, but does not. Does anyone have any ideas or experience with this issue so i can have access to my books?

swf is video/animation, PDF is documents. there might be a way but it'd be several steps, using several programs and a computer, not the iPad. Other than converting you might look into a browser that opens Flash files. Puffin and Skyfire are two I see recommended. Or find out if they have a non-flash alternative.

  • Swf to pdf conversion problem

Don't really know if this is the best forum for this, but....
I have a few flash files (swf) which play perfectly well in
Flash Player, in the browser, anywhere you like!
I've recently been trying to convert these (with Pro 8) to
pdf files, and the process seems to complete successfully.
These new pdf files open and run well on my own PC, but after
sending a few to another PC, the viewer gets the following warning
    - "'cannot play media clip because there is no player available
that can play the media while satisfying the authors intention as
    well as your security settings'."
I've checked the settings inside Multimedia, Multi Trust and
Trust Manager but cannot see anything wrong.
Can anyone help out with suggestions, please?!
    Thanks in advance....

Upload the PDF files somewhere and we'll take a look for you.

  • Server side SWF to video conversion

I am trying to develop a tool where:
I have few pre-defined SWF templates, with empty containers.
A user can come online and select few photos to upload.
After uploading the photos, the photos are added dynamically to an SWF template.
I want that this swf with dynamic content gets converted to a video file, say FLV format, so that I can stream it as a video with user added content.
Any idea how this can be done?

I can only think as far as dmennenoh.
I believe if you find a way to do that - you will be a multimillionaire ;-) Media companies are struggling to accomplish just that... I am serious. Just finished one of interactive videos projects.

  • FLA or SWF to HTML5 Conversion

I am trying to figure out the best way to convert an existing site (90% Flash / SWF) to HTML5, so that it works on the iPhone and iPad (or other mobile devices).
So far, I have decided Flash CS6 with the CreativeJS Toolkit is the route to go.
Someone (at Adobe) mentioned Dreamweaver CS5.5 can do it (convert the FLA or SWF to HTML5).
I have not found this to be true.
Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions for me?

    hey, chadXSO
I want to know that have you ever resolved your problem, and I believe that you have done!
Could you tell me which tool that you used? Now I have the same problem(the best way to convert an existing site (90% Flash / SWF) to HTML5, so that it works on the iPhone and iPad (or other mobile devices).), and someone asked me to convert swf files to html5 video, so i found this tool-swf to html5 movie maker, but i don't know how to use it, and can you tell me the tool you use? or you could tell me how to use this tool for our same question.

  • Modern SWF to Movie Conversion

I'm a flash developer and multiple times in the past I've
used actionscript to create custom animations. Back in the day, I
attended a lecture by Joshua Davis where he introduced me to the
method of using Director to export an SWF to a movie file.
This process worked because regardless of how
processor-intensive the swf was to run, the movie would playback
perfectly, with no dropped frames at all.
I recently tried to use the current version of flash with
director to spit out a movie file, but it looks like this little
trick hasn't kept up with changing times.
My question here is if anyone knows of a more modern method
to accomplish this task. All of the programs I've used are
dependant on the swf running smoothly to export a video without
dropped frames. The only exception is Moyea's SWF to Video
Converter, which lets you manually slow the playback speed of the
swf, so that each frame has plenty of time to process.
Still, this is only avoiding the real problem, and until I
can find a method that actually waits on each frame of the swf to
render (thereby totally disconnecting the swf's playback speed from
the final product), I won't be completely satisfied.
If anyone can make a suggestion, I'm all ears. Thanks in
    advance,

flash itself allows you to export your fla to video format
like avi & mpg, no 3rd party encoder required.

  • Poor quality when importing SVG graphics to FrameMaker

    Hi!
I have run into some problems using svg-files in FrameMaker. My ex colleague has created several pictures in Illustrator, that he has used in our FrameMaker files. They all displayed nicely and printed well both on paper and pdf, when using his computer and software.
Now his software departed with him and I am trying to use the images without having Illustrator installed on my computer. The result is quite bad, very fuzzy images that at first aren't displayed at all (they hide below the anchored frame). Even when re-imported they appear very bad, no matter the settings I have for the svg-conversion.
I run FrameMaker 7.0 on Windows XP. I am reluctant to upgrade my FrameMaker, or invest in Illustrator, unless I know it will solve the problem.
    Suggestions anyone?
