Switch on telephone ringing when hands-free connected

Is it possible to switch on the ringing of telephone even when hands-free is connected? I do not wear the hands-free all the time (it is on my table) and I cannot hear ringing in case of upcoming calls. On my old Nokia this was standard setting.
Thank you.

I have had the same issue which was driving me mad but think I have just found a way around it. In iOS 7 if you swipe up on the lock screen to access quick settings and go into timer then click the home button you get into the phone without calling the person back. Not a great 'fix' but hope it works for you. Come on Apple this isn't good enough, fix this bug otherwise you will lose your customers.

  • Compatibility between the iPhone 6 and certain vehicles, and the hands free connectivity in those vehicles?

How can I findout about the compatibility between the iPhone 6 and certain vehicles, and the hands free connectivity in those vehicles?
I am interested in the iPhone 6 but have several meetings that have to call into for work.  Where can I find out about the compatibility with iPhone 6 and if there are issues I need to be aware of for connecting to hands free option in the car?
Please point me to the right direction. The dealership was useless in helping me. I figured Verizon can be more helpful.

        ShaM1,
I understand the importance of the bluetooth compatibility between your new device and your car.  What make and model is your vehicle?
Here is the information that Verizon Wireless has on Bluetooth Car Kit compatibility; http://www.verizonwireless.com/support/how-to-use-bluetooth-car-kit-compatibility/.  However, Apple does not have any information listed here.  We can assume that the latest and greatest iPhone 6 has the technology to be compatible with most vehicles.  If you'd like to discover further information I'd suggest contacting Apple directly; 800-275-2273.

  • Bluetooth Hands Free Connects....Can't talk or hear????

I have no problem connecting my Motorola H680 Hands free to my 8130, and I can hear the 'operation beeps', but for some reason I can't hear or talk through it.  What's up with that?

Um, no. Mine works fine held up against my head.
Do you have any of the above attached when you're trying to call (a bluetooth headset paired, earphones plugged in, etc?
When I get a call and have my Bluetooth headset attached I get buttons on my iPhone that let me choose between headset, speaker, and normal. It picks one by default (the BT headset, in this situation), but I can switch. When I call with no BT headset attached I get the grid of buttons, and can switch to speaker, but it works fine when I stick it up to my head.
Wonder what the problem is with yours?
    Aym

  • No ringer in hands free

My ringer works, but only on the phone. When I have my hands free in (that came with the phone) it doesn't ring in the ear buds. Only on the phone. I look at my settings and I don't see anywhere that lets me change this. Anyone help me?
    Thanks

The ringer isn't provided through the earbuds. If you are listening to music when a call is received, the sound level of the music will be decreased/lowered followed by the song placed on pause.

  • BlackBerry's inability to switch back to EDGE when the WiFi connection loses Internet connectivity

This issue has been driving me crazy for a while now, but here goes:
The city I live in has a poor reception from T-Mobile, AT&T, and other providers.  I have to rely on my home wireless connection sometimes to get emails on my  phone.   So, instead of using "Mobile Network Preferred" option under Connection Preferences, I set it to Wi-Fi Preferred.
However, Wi-Fi preferred option comes at a great cost, with the inability to switch back to the Mobile Network if the connection to the Wi-Fi is lost.
For example, assuming if the phone is connected to a router, based on the following diagram:
Blackberry >>>>> Wireless Router >>>> Modem >>>> Internet Service Provider
If the modem loses connection with the Internet Service Provider, or if the Service Provider is down for maintenance, the BlackBerry will have no knowledage of any of these events, and will stay connected to the wireless router until the wireless reception is lost or degraded to a certain percentage.
So, rather than basing the metric on the reception,  is there a program out there that can send out ping echos to a specified destination?  One ping for every 5 minute interval.  if 3 consecutive pings are lost, the phone should switch back to Mobile Network, assuming if the user did not set their phone to Wi-Fi only.
    Thank you.

Sorry for the problems you're having with this hotspot losing connection so frequently. For you I have included specific troubleshooting steps to resolve this issue.
    1. Remove the battery from your phone and leave off for a full minute
    2. Re-insert battery and power phone on
    3. Dial *228 and choose option 2
    4. When the programming has been completed, press OK and your phone will power off, then back on.
    5. Reset your password for your Hotspot
    6. Update the password on your phone as well. This will help avoid any corrupt connection you may have had previously.
To reset the password for your Hotspot: Settings > Wireless and Networks > WiFi Settings > Manage Networks > long press on the network you want to modify > Enter new password
Alternately, you can long press on the network you want to modify and select "Forget this network", then back out and re-join it at which point it'll prompt you for a password.
    Hope this helps!
    Thanks,

When my iPhone 4S (with ios7) experiences a failed call while connected to my Bluetooth hands free in my car(screen locked) the failed call appears on the locked screen, as it should, the problem arises whenever I unlock the phone, it automatically redials the last failed call, it doesn't do this with missed calls that are on the locked screen, if any. It is really annoying as sometimes the phone doesn't respond to attempts to end the call before it connects to the number. I then have to explain that it was my phone and not me, I look like an idiot, which I don't really need any extra help with!! Does anyone have any ideas? I don't want to stop missed call from showing in the locked screen but it might be associated with the failed calls and therefore be the only resolution

  • Having trouble using my 9720 connecting to car hands free kit

Hi, i am utterly frustrated with my company blackberry 9720 phone. The trouble i am having is with the car hands free kit, my skoda superb uses the bluetooth premium and cannot use the normal hands free setting like with my Iphone. The problem i am having is firstly connecting, i can only use the bluetooth premuim, which completly changes all the setting on the phone i.e turns the network off on the phone and then a screen pops up saying running SAP mode (must use an ittenna in car?), which in turn stops emails from coming in, i can stupidly write texts messages on my dash board and receive them and read them on my dash board while driving. So when i remove the keys from the ignition the phone does not put the phone back to its normal working settings, it keeps the network switched off i have to go to settings and turn the network on. Thirdly when i turn the car on the phone will not connect automatically it says cannot connect to mobile, but if i switch the phone off and on it automatically connects, but if by the grace of god it does connect an second time the phone crashes and resets and then connects five minutes later after reseting. forthly this is not an phone issue it is definatly software as i have been given an second 9720 and the fault is present on both phones.
    can anyone help

as I believe it a car bluetooth hands free can only be paired to one device . ie if you wish to pair with another device you would have to reset back to default and search again.... so does the cuve work if you reset the bury and pair again but then your other phone does not work with it ... this is logical as if we drove down a motorway we would pick up loadsa phones.... therefor we can only pair to one device

  • Hands-Free Car Options using AUX connection

Looking at hands-free car options for my wife's iPhone 4s. She has a Honda Civic with AUX jack to the stereo system.
So far, tested two locally available systems:
Belkin AirCast Bluetooth - connecting via Aux jack:
    http://store.apple.com/ca/product/H2652VC/A/belkin-aircast-bluetooth-in-car-adap ter
She liked the sound quality through the car stereo, and the option to playback music also, but found the BT control finicky and prone to disconnection/unpairing (guess you need to practice) More particularly, she doesn't like the fact that the stereo need to be set to AUX mode to hear a call coming through. She had the notion that one can be listening to the radio or a CD and the system will automatically interrupt when a call comes in. I explained that whether BT or wired, all of these AUX input systems (to my knowledge) have that limitation.
So I looked at a separate phone speaker option:
    Monster Mobile AirTalk Bluetooth Car:
    http://www.monstercable.com/productdisplay.asp?pin=6037
I was quite impressed. Simple to use. BT connection very stable and easily re-established when getting in the car. Fairly good sound quality with adequate volume, considering the size of the speaker (just a little background hiss), but she finds it too tinny.
So, back to the car stereo speaker option. Are there any hands free sets (BT or wired) that will automatically switch to AUX mode, or otherwise allow a received or made call to be heard through the car speakers when it is in another (CD, Radio AM/FM) mode? Or else is there some sort of auto-switching AUX adapter that can be used?
    Cheers.

I think I see why the first link 'HD Accessories' pulled their link.
The Lux does not seem to work with the iPhone 3G even though the first link said it was compatible.
The second link now seems to have removed the iPhone 3G from the list.
I would guess this has to do with the charging pin from the now obsolete firewire pin for charging.
Looking forward to see what you find Wheelman....

  • 6230i connectivity with Honda Bluetooth hands free

I am having trouble maintaining the connection between the Nokia 6230i and the Honda CRV Bluetooth Hands-free system.
I have paired the two and connected them. All works fine. I can also use voice activated.
But if I switch off the Honda or the Nokia and then switch on again, the devices do not connect. The Honda system flashes the blue light and every so often beeps 3 times. I can reconnect manually, but I thought that once the devices were paired they would connect automatically.
    Anyone got any advice?

I used a 6230i on an Accord with Sat Nav, and apart from the occasional problem, it worked fine. Now got a 6700 Classic and it will pair OK with the car, but sometimes works with the Honda HFT and sometimes doesn't.
Common fault is disconnecting when other phone answers when dialling from the car, and incoming calls cause the phone to disconnect from the HFT.
There is a website www.hondahandsfree.com where you can check phone compatibility.
I'm hoping a software fix will happen soon.

  • IPhone 3Gs no longer connects to my Blue Tooth hands free cars

Within the last week, there appears to be a software update to my iPhone 3Gs. Since that time, my phone can no longer be paired with the hands free blue tooth options in both of my vehicles. The first vehicle is a 2010 Lincoln MKX with Sync and my other vehicle is a 2010 Volvo C30. Have other people experienced this? I have updated the connection between the phone and both vehicles. If I cannot get this fixed it looks like my iPhone is useless as a phone with blue tooth.

Problem solved!! I finally managed to pair the SE HCB-100 car kit speakerphone with the 3GS. I surfed the SE web site and it mentioned resetting the speakerphone. Tried it on 'one color ID' but it didn't work so I did it on all 'color IDs' and left it on reset mode when it 'accidentally' was picked up by my 3GS while searching!!! Found 'headset' and then recognised it as HCB-100. One happy guy for the holidays!!!

  • Not allowing bluetooth connection to car hands free

    Hi
I have a blackberry curve 8520 and a Bury hands free kit.
Normally as soon as the car is switched on the Bury comes on and starts searching for the blackberry and finds it immediately over the bluetooth and connects without any trouble.
Recently it no longer does this. Now I have to stop the Bury auto searching, turn off the blackberry bluetooth and then turn it back on for the bluetooth to connect.
If I allow for the Bury to keep searching you can see in the wireless networks screen that if briefly connects for a second and then disconnects and continues to do this.
I have restored the Bury to factory reset and it is not the Bury device because my Blackberry Pearl connects fine without any problem, it is my other phone that won't connect.
I have deleted it out of devices, played around with encryption settings and tried every setting I can see.
What is going on? why is my curve not allowing a connection to be made? I don't understand what can have happened for it to suddenly not work.
    Any help would be great.
    Thanks

Try unpairing the iPhone 3GS from your Cadillac, then try pairing the iPhone 5 again.
You can find more troubleshooting info in this Apple doc -> iOS: Troubleshooting car stereo connections
Also, iOS 6 uses AVRCP 1.4 so you may need to update the reciever in the car to make it compatible with with all versions of ACRCP.

I think the easiest way to do this is to have the EyeTV app running in one user account and sent via HDMI to the TV, and use a separate user account for Screen Sharing. Both logins can be active at the same time and with Lion you can connect via screen sharing to which ever login you need.
With regards to the Mac video resolution changing, when it is not the current input on your AV receiver. This is 'normal', if the Mac sees no signal it drops down the a lower level. What you need is to buy a HDMI Detective Plus which tricks the Mac in to always seeing a signal and hence it will not drop down the resolution. See http://www.gefen.com/kvm/dproduct.jsp?prod_id=8005
The Mac mini does have an IR receiver. This can be used with the EyeTV app, iTunes, and similar. Yes I believe EyeTV would run for prolonged periods quite happily, it is has been around for a long time and had most of the rough edges polished off. However one issue you will have to deal with is that it does not automatically update its program guide data. For this you might have to write or modify an AppleScript. Elgato support or their user forums will be a lot of help.
You can set EyeTV to convert recordings to an iTunes (Apple TV) compatible format and then delete them from EyeTV.
The HDMI Detective should solve your handshaking problems.
