Switched from iPhone to Android and now iMessage being sent instead of Text
A friend of mine recently switched from iPhone to Android and now my text are being sent as iMessage instead of text and he obviously isn't receiving it. How do I fix this bug. I'm using iPhone 4 running iOS 5
I apologize about the odd style but I'm using voice rec software. I just got the Galaxy S five and I have this problem too after weeks of searching online I finally figured out the problem it is with iMessage even if you have your old phones imessage switched off. you have to get your friends to text you normally and send. If the text bubble shows up blue, press and hold choose option send as SMS or text and the bubble will change to green green means SMS blue is the iMessage so its up to the iPhone user to take literally a half of an extra step to send a text to you and if they don't do that then they're just jerks

I have a friend who switched from iPhone to Samsung and I am only one that has to turn off iMessage to send a text! I have deleted her then readded and nothing seems to work and she has turned off iMessage on her other apple devices. Is there a solution!

Switched from DSL to cable and now can't find apple tv in itunesdevice list
I just switched from DSL to Cable and now for whatever reason I cannot find my apple tv in the itunes device list on my desktop computer. If I use another laptop through the same wireless router I can see the apple tv no problem. My apple tv can see my wireless router and connect to the internet and watch youtube/trailers/etc.
I have tried restoring the apple tv, and have also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the itunes on the desktop. I also reset the wireless router...none of the above seem to work. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as this has been crazy frustrating...thanks in advance.If you have an AirPort Extreme or a Time Capsule, you need to use the AirPort utility to access it. Otherwise, your router has a control panel that you can access by entering the router's IP address into your web browser. You'll have to check your router's documentation for the default login name and password, but it's often admin admin or root root (which is why you should at least change the password as soon as possible).

Why is my iMessage being sent as a text message?
A couple of days ago I installed iOS 5 on my iPhone 4. Now, for my contacts who also own iPhones, iMessages seem to be activated. When I send a message, the bubble is blue, indicating an iMessage.
But then, a few minutes later, these messages are turning green, and underneath them is a line saying "sent as Text message".
Is this a bug? Why's this happening? At the moment, iMessage seems to be useless, at least for me. (I'm in Canada, working on a Bell contract. Does that factor in?)I'm having this problem also.
Both my wife and I have an iPhone 4 running iOS5, we were texting using iMessage, and it was working but then for some strange reason, the last 3 or so messages we sent got sent as text, but it didn't show them being sent as a text, until you left iMessage, and returned to it.
The problem was, I had sent 2 pictures through iMessage, they got sent as MMS, and I got charged for them.
Apple need to split iMessage from sms, instead of rolling them in the same app, that way you know your in iMessage, and you know when your in sms.
Why apple have decided to leave them in the same app is a mystery.

Switching from Iphone 5 to Galaxy s5--iMessage issue
I recently switched from my iphone5 to my galaxy s5. I am unable to receive messages from other iphone users due to imessage, I am able to send and they do receive them. Those receiving messages are unable to send messages to me at all. With the message "Message could not be delivered" listed for them. I have attempted the following: Removing my icloud, disabling imessage from my phone, backing up the phone and doing a full reset/restore after imessage had been disabled, had the receiving user delete the message thread and start a new one. Any suggestions?

Switched from Podpress to Powerpress and now feed is not updating in iTunes - Please help
Please help...at my wit's end!
A few days ago I switched from using Podpress to Powerpress for my podcast. I followed all instructions and my feed appears to be valid. However, my podcast is not updating in iTunes at all and when I tried to resubscribe, I got an error message that said that there are no playable episodes.
Please, please...someone help. I really don't know what else to do and trying to get support from Apple or Blubrry has been fruitless.

Well, I was unable to locate the old feed (I don't even know if it exists in the conventional way, since it was set up by Podpress), and attempted to remove my podcast completely from iTunes in order to start fresh. Unfortunately, it appears as though iTunes no longer does this and instead directs you to add a <block> tag to your feed....and around we go.
So I've pleaded via Express Lane to please, please have someone change my feed to the new http://www.surrealla.com/feed/podcast/ ...that old feed should have never been set up that way in the first place. Argh.
Question: Can I resubmit my podcast to iTunes without deleting the old one? I'd hate to do that...seems tacky...but I have no idea what else to do if the pleading doesn't work.

I appreciate you trying to reboot your tablet to resolve the issue. It is very odd that this issue began after the update. Have you tried resetting your network settings? Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network settings. Do you only get the network connection error when trying to log into iTunes?

I believe you are correct. I had to replace my phone and it was necessary to enter the (3 digit) security code from the credit card the first time I updated some apps on the new phone. Thereafter only the password was requested.

How do I transfer contacts from iPhone to Android?
I recently moved from iPhone to Android and now want to transfer my contacts over. However having reviewed some similar queries on this discussion board I still cannot do it.
I have seen comments to go into iTunes and select the sync contacts with dropdown, then select the Google account, however I only have options of Outlook or Windows and I don't know how to add a Google account into that.
I've tried on my iPhone settings, Mail Contacts & calendars, and adding my Google account into there, but it still doesn't show Google as an option in iTunes.
I'd rather not have to type them all into my Android phone manually, but I'm beginning to think it would be easier than wasting so much time trying to figure out a technical solution!
Can I somehow import them to Google via iCloud?

You can try iCloud for Windows (http://support.apple.com/kb/dl1455) to Sync your contacts.
The export step using Windows can be done using the contacts application:

Once you have your contacts in vCard format, you can import them via the gmail web interface... You *may* even be able to drag and drop them onto gmail these days. Many Google web services support drag and drop, so that could be the easiest way.
